Back on track?

Yesterday was great! I woke up quite early, around 4:00 am, and stayed up until 21:30. I did take a one hour nap, but forced myself up as I had a task to do for a friend (I roasted a turkey) both for her dinner and which we will now split. I am a bit more functional and certainly have better memory function and concentration. How am I doing this? I had to stop taking my blood pressure medicine. Yes, I probably will die sooner, but who wants to live an extra 20 or 30 years if it's to be catatonic as an induced side effect? After four years of wasted life trying to find a medication or regimen that doesn't cause this AND lowers blood pressure, I have decided to end this little experiment. I won't try other medications unless the doctor can give me something that deals with the side effects. There are many things I want to do. And, even if my life is cut a bit short, I will do some of them rather than live long and do nothing. I am still going to be limited, at times, yet not so strictly or often.

The turkey turned out well. When I decided to roast it this time, I wanted to try an experiment. I always add a bit of water to the roasting pan, this time I wanted to use that water. And, since I like mixed meat flavors, I decided to add bratwurst (hand made type) to that water, and I added rice as well (though the brats were added in the last hour and a half and the rice only for the last hour). I have yet to see how that part came out, but I will be writing on that as soon as I know.

If life is an oyster, more than half it's mass is waste and when it does produce pearls, you still can't eat the pearl. Go figure and swallow it carefully.

  1. Good post, med experimenting, sounded happy with life.

  2. I was happy with having seen the options, then, and choosing my own path. Life is and has been so very difficult since I became ill, and that was in late '87. It's been going on nearly forty years of... extinction level living. So, happiness has been in making the choices I can, and hopping from one breaking branch to the next, avoiding as many major falls as possible.

Still... it's... been interesting, sometime fascinating, and I yet am.
