Over and over, here, then there, and on. Not quite finishing any single area, but hitting it so well that a relapse would take... a very long time. Buying time in the future, but also really taking some serious care for today. I have done most of the laundry. There are two partial baskets left. I have done... seven, eight? I did everything. Whether it was "clean" or not. How long has some of that been hung, or folded? I just don't know. And, yes, I have been putting it up, folded or hung, after every load.
I am amazed, more and more, at how much I can do. Why not a month ago? It isn't just the appliances. I suppose I do need a spark, a reason, a push. But there has to be a way. Even then, the last four years now I have been able to, for longer and longer periods, if still with serious falls from time to time, to do more and more work. This, right now, especially if I really to finish, will be the most and the fastest I have done solo. It is on par with how much work I did when my mother would visit. And over a similar time-span. Only I am not crashing. Now, I am doing it at my pace, and what I want and see, and that does make some difference. But that wouldn't cover the difference between what I used to do and what I am now doing, on my own.
For dinner, lamb chops and a romaine salad. The salad is rather plain, but with homemade ranch it really works. I figured out some of my food problem. One is, I need to vary my meals a bit more. Lamb chops are great, but wear on the palate quickly all by themselves. The same with, pretty much, everything. Mixing a salad in with the chops, plus the dressing, and a small side of home-made mayo in which to dip the lamb? That really helps. The other thing is that the cinnamon gum is burning out my tastebuds. That is handy, but it's... a taste-bud killer. There are advantages. I just think the disadvantages are huge.
I went ahead and ordered boxes and more shelving. Why buy? Uniformity. As I begin organizing, I will begin packing. In time I will whittle down what I save, and sort it. Bit by bit, what I won't need in Alaska will be given or tossed. No one seems to want pretty much anything. Which is fine.
Oh... a bit of gaming then back to organizing. It is the weekend, and I am taking it easy. No real choice and wise to boot. Even so, what I am doing is really important and bigger than it seems. I am truly absolutely amazed. Back to resting so that I can kick into low shortly. I am hoping to clear two more areas, finish another couple loads of laundry, sort the two baskets of laundry, and collect and start another load of dishes. Oh, I did find some rubber gloves that sort of fit. All I could find, then, was extra large. A bit small, and the cuffs are short. I am really hoping what I ordered from amazon, at 18" and 23", and extra extra large, will do the trick. If they are right, I will order a couple of each more. Ugh!
Later.
I wonder and sometimes worry. Herein lie those ponderings with perhaps some editing but still in their truer forms. Whisper as well, though in truth, whispers are just that, rustlings in the wind and nothing more. It is kind to not be alone with one's own whispers.

Amazing what all is happening.
.
.
There are things I am behind regarding. There are things that are way off. But, for now, the cave is being returned from a wild man's refuge to a civil enclosure. Oh, much work remains. But it's being done at some serious pace. I don't think any singular person could clean all that much faster. Everyone will burn out, after a time. Save maybe people like my mom, if more in their hayday. But they get grumpy in the doing.
I am hoping this milder weekend of effort will let me get back to working harder and heavier this coming week. This, the front computer room is nearing completion. Still a bit to do, but... it's... getting there. The living room next. I still have to make room in the kitchen and open access on the back "porch". It really isn't a porch, just has that feel. It is enclosed, fully, just more of an interior hallway along the outer wall that dead ends at the washer and dryer. It COULD be, or be turned into, a porch. I don't think people do porches, so much, anymore. Sad, really. Though, in more northern climbs, they have very limited use... much as with motorcycles.
Dreams. Women, though all those roads, currently, lead to Rome... or the Rome of the female world. I would that they wouldn't but that choice doesn't seem to be mine to make. As well, the world is far from fixed. Backroom deals and the new old machine, if headed in a slightly to vastly different direction, is all still taking place. I hope, that as with Reagan, Trump doesn't hit the entrenched leftism of freebies, "that's the way we do it", and such that stopped much of his great intent. Often his "friends" will be his worst enemies. There is always the media... which he seems to be kicking to the curb like the whore it is.
Get It Done. Don't worry about things. If you don't, President Trump, you were the last hurrah of a dying social, civil, and demographic which built this and is all that might sustain some portion of it. Either you succeed or we all fall back to 2nd, or even 3rd world, and non-white realities. I'm not even white, but I'm going to tell you this. All others take pride in being a people, for no other reason. If there is a people with a due of some right pride, it is whites. If they don't learn to have pride, they will disappear under the weight of a dark world. Either buck up and take it back or join the droolers in the mosh pit. You do realize, you are of the few who realize that pride is both an enemy, if done wrongly, and that you don't deserve it fully? That, if nothing else, should be your righteous outrage raison d'etat to keep the faith of the culture and civilization you created. Not even one such as I can maintain it. I am chaos, but know a good thing when I see it.
Well, I... should... continue waking for a bit, then begin laundry again and a few other things. Quite a thing, boys and girls.

For a day off I am doing a nice bit of work. It doesn't feel like work. In a sense it isn't. Mostly going through odds and ends, throwing away what doesn't belong, organizing to a degree as I go along. Laundry is being done, a new load ever few hours. Bits and pieces in each room, not by design so much as if I take something to a room, I might need to organize just a bit there, and things from that bit of work might lead me to yet another room. It is light effort, physically. If organizing has always been my Achilles' heel. So that I am doing it without... fuss or upset? Strange, but I'll take it.
There is a lot more to do, just to make sure the appliances can be brought in. To get the place presentable before then is... a boatload more work. It's the goal. How possible is it, in truth? Time will tell.
On off days I leave the furnace at 66. On days when I wish to do more heavy work I set the thermostat to 72, then turn it down several hours before bedtime. It works really well. When cooler, generally, I am less apt to overwork. I am amazed at what has been being done though. It is almost, on the verge of, becoming a whole new place, potentially creating a whole different paradigm. A new way of life. Even if only for a short while.
Dinner was okay. Something about trying to thaw the beef roast in the refrigerator... it didn't work out well. I won't do that again. While still edible, it has a taint to it that I don't like. It just wasn't thawing all the way through, but seem to go a bit rancid, on the outside. Not totally bad, just a twinge of something I don't like. The interior was quite good, the veggies were okay. What really was good were the baked apples. I didn't sugar or spice them, at all. Quite a nice add. It's new to me, just an experiment. Worth a try, I'm telling you. Later.

Really, can't complain.
.
.
I am taking it a bit easier today. More slowing than truly stopping. I combined baking powder and diatomotacious earth and sprinkled that in the closet and around the spare bedroom. I have a load of laundry going and plans for two or three more loads. I folded one of the items in the driers, from last night. The other item was still damp so it went back in. As well, I have been sorting small boxes of stuff, tossing, sorting, even some storing. Oh, and I put a shade together tonight. It's an odd thing, made to fit on a bulb outlet that doesn't have a cover. It was... a puzzle, with Chinese instructions. The instructions make no sense, but the pieces, the number of slots, and what is and isn't possible becomes clear, or not. For me it was a matter of ignoring the instructions, for the most part, and just doing. And I did.
I may make that roast, as well, tonight. Cooking half of the root veggies while at it. I have had salad already, but could use another. The kefir projects worked extremely well. I even obtained kefir grains. I had no clue if that would work. It is a lot cheaper, too, than ordering in grains. Which means my creme fraiche is good. I just need to make mayonnaise, combine it with that and else, plus the package of ranch mixing to make that dressing. Yes, I love that stuff. Hmm, a small batch of that, a small batch of simple mayo, and then a refill on the vinaigrette. I love my cooking, sometimes. I love what I can do, what I push to learn to do, and how it all works, when I can do it. If I had a woman to shop, and at least help with the cleaning, I'd... do more than cook. *grins*
Hmm? Oh, maybe some gaming, and then some salad dressing, or vice versa. Then a salad after a bit. And, finally, the roast. Of course, turning the laundry over every hour and an half. Hey, it's light duty, not dead duty. Hmm... seems someone remembered something from the past. It fits here, now, well. Later.

I isn't even that I am going to just stop. I cannot keep going at the faster pace though either. I can sort through boxes while seated, I can do little bits of organizing when going from this place to that. I can continue on feed, even though I don't seem hungry, have an appetite, or can even enjoy food for the moment. Little things, but they add up, and perhaps more swiftly than even the big things.
Some things... I have sprayed the rooms, but I haven't put the powders down. I can't really in the main bedroom, yet. Still a bit too much clutter. But I can make a mixture, and put that down in the spare bedroom (even though I am sleeping in there), and hit the closet since that is done except to be vacuumed then wet-vacuumed. Yeah, I'm going to hit each room that way, both bedrooms to start, if in their due time. As well, I can do small loads of laundry. I have forlded and put up or hung everything that I have washed so far. But big loads... endanger that idea. And, yes, I want things folded or otherwise handled rightly, then put up.
I am, at this time, looking at the paths for the appliances. It will be a push to get those areas open... and looking good. Yeah, I... it's the goal anyway. There are little things I can do to facilitate the clearing of the area, even if I don't tangle too deeply or strongly. Moving a few smaller items, organizing and moving stuff that is there, cleaning along the way and while I am at it.
I will be on low-impact this whole weekend. Hopefully to be ready to seriously hit it again this next week. But I have to work hard, to get it in order. Time is clicking off so very fast. This, too, is a bit of a test. A stress test and a practical test... a "how much can I do when I have to do what must be done" test. I am actually... doing pretty good. Who would wish to get married if they don't think they can take care of the needs of a woman, a pregnant woman, and on call? It's brutal, but natural, to be needed. And being able to lift that load and go forward? Well... it's required. Many men aren't ready. Many men never thought that far ahead and are now in a terrible trap. While women slow you down, just to be able to live with them, they also gear you up, by their needs and wants. I may be a fool, but I'm not a stupid fool!
Well... on to medicine and then some food? Steak and eggs, maybe? Yeah. It's good to have my compression socks washed and dried. I really should wash at least once a week. I need a shower too. It looks like the water pills have finally started to help... uhrm... liquidation. The socks will help even more. Now to keep up on these things! Ugh. Work helps, with these issues, I just can't always be quite this active.
Later.

Rough, but going.
.
.
I couldn't get going until later, and woke later on top of it. I've been a bit sort, a bit tired, a bit stiff, and just... doing what I can. I finally got the socks up to dry, putting a fan in the bathroom to help. I started washing bedding and have all, save the wool, blankets and sheets... so far... through, the last load is in the wash... should be done. The first load is folded and put away, for now. When I finish with my main bedroom I will strip both beds and wash that. Probably well before moving back into the main bedroom, if I won't wash that until I have both sets of bedding to wash. Yeah... Anyway.
I have also been slowly putting things away from this front room, in the bedrooms, in the kitchen. Setting things up, it is hoped, so as to have a place for everything and everything in it's place. Yeah, I got medicine in today. I keep forgetting though, and take it late, then forgetting the night stuff. I need more potassium and the carvedilol. Hopefully tomorrow or the day after I can get in, get those, pick up some real new kefir grains, and... I don't know... something else.
I'll have a salad shortly. My last gal said I could make a vinaigrette like a star. I make several types. At the time I really didn't think so. Now? Yeah, okay. Not to brag but I really can just whip something out that is more than passing. No, I don't use a recipe. I usually don't even taste it. I just... do it. After, I may chop cabbage, and add that to hamburger and cheese still in a pan on the stove from earlier. Yeah... Gotta eat when you are tanking your dive. Bleh.
Other than the last of the laundry, I think that will be it for tonight. Good night.

Not just this and that.
.
.
Sure, I am tired. And, of course, I am sore. But it's more than that. My hands are raw from so much washing and scrubbing and... I... need to find gloves that are large enough. Then I need to buy... four pair? Keep one or two active. One for dishes, one pair for... all else? Yeah. But to find gloves that are big enough has been a nightmare. If I found a pair, in the past, and I may have, I didn't follow through and buy more, and I can't find them now. So... yeah.
While I am doing incredible amounts of work, epic amounts of work is what it will take. I will not be doing too much today, I just can't. A shower, setting up dishes, washing bedding, and... maybe a few other small things. A trip to town would be nice, but not until I have the packages to be returned set up to go. Then, too, I will do a minor shopping spree... kefir grains, more milk and cream, oh and gloves. I might have to go to several stores to find gloves? Although, perhaps, much later tonight I might make it in and get gloves. My hands have been brutalized. Both the heat and the moisture just... ragged. Can't say I haven't been putting in the effort. It shows on every front. And... look at the work order for today, as a day of rest? Yeah. And more might be done as well.
My mother already received her first Christmas presents. Since they are seasonal, and it is the season, I didn't mind letting these get there early. She's a big girl, and I am of the sort where Christmas is... when I say it is. So it was. I have one more thing for her, though it might be next month... or... actually... I have a better plan! It might still be early, but... good. It, she things, is needed now. Now is better for grownups and for functional needs. Ho, ho, ho.
Something to eat though. I am hungry. Food doesn't taste good, and that's what I know to be good food. Fast food tastes very into the negative. I don't know what has happened but food, drink, old favorites, and new items which should be delights... all... blah. And, yet, I must eat. If I can't taste, my stomach, from time to time, does need something. I don't actually even have hunger, as a sensation. It is just, somewhere back there, in my mind/body, I receive notifications. "Feed me." Not emotional, not dire, just from time to time. More a whisper on the wind. Weak. And, yet, pitiable. So... feed I will. And I will work at making it tasty, for what good that is doing me. It's the idea, I guess, which counts?

Perhaps not as much as planned?
.
.
After reviewing my plans, however, perhaps it is more that I did other things than what was planned. And, as is often the case, doing a job isn't just doing... the job. Often, when I go to pound a nail into the wall, for example, I first have to round up a hammer, then nails, then maybe ope up space to get to the wall if a chair or couch is in the way. Almost no job is just doing that job. Even with laundry or the dishes... you don't just wash. First you wrangle, then you wash, dry, and put away. Washing is the easy part.
I am a bit stiff and sore, but less than I have been. I am working through those things, for now. I am getting weary, if truth be told, less than usual if more solidly. I fall to sleep quickly and I sleep very well. It isn't that I don't sleep okay mostly, it's just... this seems deeper. I have learned to sleep in spite of all, or nothing. But this is definitely a richer blend. I do dream, if I am not bringing much of that into my waking world.
I am amazed at how much is happening. Though terrified at how much is left, even just to easily get the appliances in. It really is a lot of work left, and while I am stuck tearing into the bedroom and doing about every stitch of laundry in the house. I'll keep at it. I decided to challenge life, and myself. I guess, one way or another, it will get done.
Ah, while grocery shopping, I pulled a number of fall vegetables and baking apples. I am thawing a beef chuck roast and hope to make a feast of it soon. I have enough for two good meals. Since I picked up sauerkraut, I can do a duck. I am hoping to thaw that out in a few days. I know turnips and rutabagas, but have never tried parsnips. So I added those in. I can't do potatoes, but I can do cauliflower as a substitute. It just isn't the same, but it isn't bad. I am also experimenting with store-bought kefir... to see if it can ferment a milk and cream mix, yogurt, and a near full cream sample. They may boil it and kill off anything living, or most of it. Still, it would be nice to know if, in a pinch, it would produce something. The next time I am in town I will buy real kefir grains though, and begin that. I had fallen so far behind that I just gave up and cleaned all that out.
Good night.

It's going.
.
.
Great speed is not to be had. Neither in any particular project or from project to project. But work continues.
After "dusting" the refrigerator, removing the baking powder that is, I closed it up and plugged it in. It's still rough. It wasn't a machine of high art or fashion to start. Between again and abuse it is what it is. Even with as careful as I was with cleaning, and the materials used, plus deodorizing as I could... it is rough. I thought it would be just as bad no matter. But the cool air really cleared most of that 'freezer burn' audetoilet scent. At least when it is running, now that it has been cleaned and deodorized, it smells neutral.
I went ahead and emptied the fridge/freezer back into the fridge. This time I am doing things a little differently. The empty cat food boxes fit perfectly in the door shelves, allowing much better organization and keeping little things from shuffling forward and dropping. I was also able to adjust the interior shelves exactly to my liking. And, after living as I do for some number of years now, I have a good idea of what I buy, what space I need, and such. Wonderful. So the refrigerator is pretty much back into action.
After that, before too much time passed, I remembered to do the spraying... for bugs. It's pet safe, as soon as it dries. It should be dry now. Which means I will now powder the floors and main bedroom bed with diatomacious earth and baking powder. Or is it soda? The deodorant stuff. I will just leave that on and about until I vacuum, eventually. I also got almost two loads of clothes back to the washing area. I want more, about a third of my normal loads more, so as to have two complete loads of laundry. A shower first, then laundry.
More? I have decided the best path for the appliances. I don't like it, as it is all the way through from the front door. But that only leaves one smaller door to negotiate, and just for the washer and dryer. The main front door is easily big enough for all. And the stove is the most questionable item. I suppose the washer and dryer could come in through a back side door, but... I don't know. In any case, as I have been tinkering, I have been thinking about what needs to be done to make it all work. Oh, and I will get the payments going on that. With zero interest or fees, at $200 a month, these will be paid in four months! I best get that going while I am at it. I won't start the payments until January, but I don't receive until December, so it should work.
With the water pill just starting, I hit the first two days with double doses... I had a lot of water backed up. If things look good tomorrow morning, I'll stick with the regular dose. If not, I might hit it with a double dose for a few days longer. I need to place an order for medicine tomorrow. I have two pair of shoes to be returned as well, so I will get those packed and ready. After the shower, I plan to first set compression socks to a cold soak, then set up a load of dishes.
I am getting there people. I mean really moving things and life and such. It's a lot of work. I seem to be doing well. It looks like I have stabilized for the season, or for now. I would sure like to get things wrapped up in the cave so that I can, maybe, before things cave in again, get out snowshoeing. If that goes well, then maybe begin flat, then sloped, cross country skiing with the goal of small trips, maybe and overnighter, yet this winter. Winter camping isn't for the feint of heart, nitwits, clusterfucks, or even merely for adventure. It's a skill that is needed if the wilds are where one is headed. And, since doctors, enemies, friends, myself, and so far nature hasn't killed me, I ought to begin testing that even further. :p
Oh, there are a few other things I am thinking about, might do tonight, or will get to... like cleaning the bathroom maybe yet tonight, or opening the rear hallway, or opening up this front computer room... doing some work here anyway. I've got all night, and seem to be able to get up soon enough after my breaks... just not as fast as I had been going. I'll get to it. Later.

Up and mostly at it.
.
.
I was past five, nearly 6:00 when I finally went to bed. Yes, I had a steak and mushrooms. I overcooked the steak a bit, but... it was food. The mushrooms were good. No shower was taken. After dinner, and a bit of chilling to relax so as to sleep, A faceplant into the pillow was all I had left. I didn't let the girls in to sleep with me, in case I needed to roll. Initially I did roll, for sure. When it hurts everywhere, trying to find the spot that hurts the least... There was no such place, but my body kept trying, for as long as it was awake.
Mercifully, sleep arrived swiftly. Being back on medicine, as of yesterday, and that water pill being a demanding sort, especially when I haven't been taking it, I woke twice through the night. I felt nothing. I was barely functioning enough to do my call, to shuffle between here and there, and little more... if anything at all. No sensation of pain, stiffness, even life. I am not sure if I truly remember, or if my body merely logged that into data which I received upon waking. That was a lot of work and a long day yesterday. Very long, rather hard all told.
I woke around noon thirty, or a quarter off that. Mind is still a bit fuzzy and my two main time sources are off by 15 minutes. I'm not sure which one to go with, or which one I saw. Hmm, perhaps as much as an half hour off that, actually.
First thing, since Sam had been being a pain, I checked their water. Nope, it was good. She just wanted food. She knows that isn't served until... she knows. I was not in a temper to be toyed with and she was... let know. Brat! I've been spoiling them a bit lately. I'll not be doing that going forward. At least they have learned not to scratch or bite me. Yes, they are nasty and can be annoying, even if they don't damage. But it did end up waking me.
I have cleaned out the baking powder and plugged the refrigerator back in. It smells, but not like bad food. It's more like that deep weird smell of foods or... anything... that has been frozen too long. It smells like freezer burn. It's simply too old. One more year and I will fix that, if I am staying... maybe even if I am not.
Today? Rest, mostly. Not all though. I didn't make plans for today because yesterday ate me alive and spewed me out it's monster bowls into a new world of pain, soreness, and stiffness... for which, actually, I am well pleased and grateful! Still, I... didn't want to make plans. As it sits, I don't have great plans. I would like to hit the bathroom, clean, sweep, mop. I made a mess of what was already a mess, in there. I don't know how much of it I will do, but I should be able to get it done, probably. As well, I would like to do two small loads of laundry. Just four or five of each clothing group, and two loads of that, so as to be ready for whatever I will be doing for the next week or two. If that goes well enough, then I will begin washing blankets and bedding, cleaning those and setting them aside for when the bedroom goes back together, and then when I reset the spare bedroom back to 'on hold' mode. At least one more thing is on the menu. I would, if I can, like to gather the last batches of dishes and set those to soak... though maybe a shower before that would be good. Hmm? Oh, right... well, we will see.
I won't be working quickly. I will be doing striated sets of this, that, and the next thing. It might happen, maybe all of it. But it is a lot. Oh, one last thing, if actually about to go forward right now. I forgot the spray the spare bedroom yesterday, then sprinkle it with the powders after that dries. I will do that first thing, then the closet, then move several sets of clothes to the washroom, take a shower, and then put the wash in. That will be my starting move. Thank you, diary, for helping me figure this all out.

That was work.
.
.
I thought tearing the fridge down would be, you know, a bit of work. Well, and cleaning while at it. And, switching the handle. Well, first I had to resort and reset a fridge/freezer and put the groceries away, and... there was more. I got about half way through, or from what I could tell, and couldn't see how I could possibly finish. So.
I kept going. I wanted to get it cleaned, change the handles' sides, and put it back together tonight. So on I went. It is nasty. Even after cleaning. Yeah, there are limits, and this fridge has seen those limits hit and surpassed. Probably before I moved in though, to be honest and fair. I just... didn't do it any favors.
Yes, it is together, set up, and working. I sprinkled baking soda throughout, put in a pot of hot vinegar water in each section, then remembered how coffee could be used to help deodorize, so put a bowl of that in each compartment. I hope... something help. Even so I would like to rip into it again soon. I had thought to clean it all again tomorrow, but I just don't have the time. However, as it is rigged, cleaning it, next time, will be a snap. Getting it to the condition where it is easy to clean, that was murder. Now I know, when if I get a refrigerator next year. I am also going to be practicing with this one, until then. How to do this, or that, or get stains or smells out more easily, etc. Why buy a new appliance if you don't learn how to take care of the ones you have? This fridge might be older than most college kids, but... it's what I have, for now.
At first, when I finished, I didn't think I wanted to have a meal. After having sat, and typed, I am changing my mind. One steak will do. Mushrooms, fried with it, as well as a glass of milk. Yeah, I... earned that, at least in some sense. I really do what I can, when I can. Though I am beginning to do more, more often, if still pretty weaksauce. I know, now, that, if called, I can do. If I truly get the house ready for the appliances, and keep the cleaning to some degree? I think I'll be ready for the next step. Whether that be in finding a wife or moving to Alaska, those finals are mostly settled, but there is time between now and then. Time is drawing short though.

I'll take it, and I'm still not done.

Oh, well, when out and about it all looked good. New devices, shopping, even a meal out. Fast food has distinctly gone downhill. I can't eat McDonalds anymore, or most other spots. I'm down to three that I can choke down, or was. Scratch one more off the list. Wow. Anyway, I was flying high. Even stopped for the mail. I then backed into the drive and started taking things in. I started worrying. Perhaps I had... overdone, overloaded my capacity, pushed too far.
As I got things in then started writing the last post, pointing out what had to be done to do what had to be done. Even on the short range of just dealing with laundry, but maybe cleaning the fridge... and that meant changing the doors on it to the other side? A chill went down my spine. Too much, way too much! I didn't... stop to wonder what was going to get lost or broken or fail or... I just... started in.
First I unloaded the spare fridge/freezer, changing the temp to 46. Tall all went into the newest drop in. Then I was able to get the groceries into the chest fridge/freezer. After that, I went straight to the computer, and youtube, to find out how to change doors. I could find nothing that looked all that similar. Finding a machine with two doors, top and bottom, was close enough, I hoped. And, so far, it has been. Then I went straight to the door.
Ah, but... the door required star drives! Hmm, none of my screw driver sets had it. So I went looking around in the garage. My gun smithing kit was paydirt. So I began taking the thing apart. I ran into a problem... getting to a lower screw, along the door, with the door only being able to open just so far. I began to tug the machine out then realized I... might not have to do that. I wasn't sure there would be an angle anyway. With a philips or standard, maybe you can do the weird angle thing, but not with a star drive. But! there... if I unscrewed the cap/pivot from on top? Wasn't sure that was possible, wasn't how the guy in the video did it, would it just turn in there somehow? Only one way to... Bingo! Yeah, even I can blow it away from the hip once in a while.
I have both doors off. I washed out the freezer section, and unplugged the refrigerator. I just have to find knee pads, get down and work the bottom pivot joint, set it back up, wash it all out, and... I think I'll leave it overnight and wash it again in the morning, since everything is safely stored. I had thought about starting another, probably final for a while, batch of dishes, but decided to wash the fridge/freezer twice, or more. Perhaps a couple of days of nothing but washing and baking soda absorptions. I may wash it with vinegar, after another regular wash. Yeah... it's been a while, a long, long, while. I really want to hit it good. Though, now, if it gets a bit ragged, with the doors on right? I can wash it any time I like! Oh... so nice. Even if I am only keeping it another year, I have learned how to deal with it, and I will have it set up to be cleaned more often. Even twice a year would be a heck of an improvement. Though anytime something spills, too... Even just a spot clean. Oh... so very nice.
Oh, I still have to figure out where to put everything to open up room for the new appliances. And I still want to call around to see if someone could use, or would want, the old ones... for steel, scrap, motors, or any such. And I still have much going on even so here in the cave. A room is half torn apart, and several rooms are under investigation. I'll... keep at it.
After I finish for the night? A steak, maybe two. Yeah, I have been that good. Ribeyes. I should crash well after that. Later.

After I finish for the night? A steak, maybe two. Yeah, I have been that good. Ribeyes. I should crash well after that. Later.

It's been a tender limp through the day.
.
.
The legs don't hurt unless I bend or flex at a certain angle. Going from standing to sitting, there is at least one angle that gets me, and I think there are several. Still, I finished off the last of the dishes I had been working on. Then took a shower. There have been other little bits as well. A bit more sorting of laundry, which is pretty much ready... it just has to be hauled out.
I decided to get to town to look over a washer, dryer, and stove. I picked some online, but forgot to list. I was afraid it was too late for the sale, even not being the end of the month. Sometimes the end of the month is just a term, not a fact. But, no, all sales remained. Without the sale, what I purchased would have been $2,600. As is, I was able to put half on my store card, half in cash (debit anyway). No interest for 24 months, I believe. Though, at the rate I will be paying, it should be paid off in less than half that, probably a quarter of that time. That's just how I do. Plus, next year I will be buying a new refrigerator. I just couldn't... wouldn't... swing that this year. Perhaps, finally, a dishwasher... if they can convince me the new soaps will work, not leave spots, and such. I will need to see demonstrations, in hard water areas, with soaps available. As well, I may add in a microwave, a bigger one. The one I have is fantastic. Just a Walmart special, if at the higher end of wattage. I will at least compare. The way the deal is set up it might pay to pay a bit more for a micro to get a group discount.
I will have to really work to figure some things out. If need be, they will remove the other appliances. But if I can find someone who wants them, for any reason, I'll get them out another way. Ugh. I really will have to clear the areas so they can bring the appliances in, on top of all else. I am told they could be arriving in as short as six to nine days. If need be, I might be able to stall a few days but probably not much more. Yeah, I'll have to do more to do more to do more. All good though. A chance to clean areas that have been... stewing in dysfunctional clutter.
I am satisfied that I have done what I can. I will still be doing a bit more tonight. I am hoping to figure out the refrigerator door change, then clean out the fridge hardcore, along with the freezer. I have groceries, so I'm going to have to figure things fast, though I do have the spare freezer/fridge... it has frozen in it, at the moment, but I have room in the other freezers. I just have to move things. Bleh. Yeah... I'm... doing stuff, getting there, and enjoying it... except when I hit those 'crick' angles with my legs. Pain keeps me focused though, I suppose. Later.

Uhm'kay.
.
.
Yeah, how much will get done today is in pretty serious question. I might, somehow, limp through it all. Or I may just do little things, nap, and skip through. It's pretty rough. Getting in and out of a chair stresses those overworked legs. Ugh. I think I'll take a nap, some pain pills, and see if that doesn't help reset things. I'm not in the mood to be in the mood to mess with being out of sorts.
I may push that last load of dishes through, first, though. Set that to a hot simple soak then clear that after the nap. I want to get a shower to get to town soon, so... those have to be dealt with sooner or even sooner. Rough, tired, but I have things to do. Later.

I'm feeling it today.

Ribs, back, legs, butt, all stiff, all sore. Shoulders, neck, and above are all good, oddly. Drained of energy as well. Today will only see a couple of things done, the load of dishes that is in it's finishing soak and more laundry sorting. Perhaps a load or two of laundry, definitely spraying, the powdering, the spare bedroom, as well, if those aren't really heavy chores.
I was trying to figure out where all the dirty dishes were from. Ah, when I cleaned out the refrigerator There were a lot of dishes in there. Kefir to leftovers, it was more than I had thought. Oh, and before I go shopping, I would like to figure out how to angle the fridge so as to tear it apart and clean it out. Hmm, I might take the food out of the freezer and clean that while I am at it... let it thaw overnight. I need to get cracking on that, though, as I really need groceries. It would definitely be good to have a fresh refrigerator and freezer. They sure pick up odors and then it just makes things, like eggs, last so much shorter.
Even so, I am not going to push all that hard to day. I should be able to get all of this done today, but if not, okay. I can handle that. I will just finish it tomorrow. Oh, but if I want to order appliances, I'd best get on that. The 40% off deal ends with the month. The requirement is that they not deliver until, say, February. That gives me time to get the cave cleaned and ready to receive. It would be a new washer and dryer, and stove. Bleh, but needed.

I can't remember what I promised. I can only attest to what was done. The dishes were given a thorough going over, then set to a fresh sudsy soak I cleaned them well enough that this should work. Fat and plastic just... And I hate greasy... anything. Refuse! I also got the bug spray readied. I know where the powders are. I will actually be spraying the spare bedroom tomorrow morning... "morning"... after waking and shooing the girls out. Then, sometime tomorrow, I'll be hitting that room with the powders. I live live with that on the floor for a few days.
I also completely finished removing what I am going to remove from the closet. Some tossing already, and a lot of separation of dirty laundry as per my system. I did, perhaps, half, or more, of the sorting. But between sorting laundry there were other things to sort. Cleaning and clearing several duffle bags, putting leather clothing aside, as well as my wetsuits of various sorts, and diving boots and gloves. Yeah... well, and picking up trash and fidgets, coins, and whatnot.
I have done several other things as well. I just can't remember at this point. It hasn't been a big day, but a good one. Push! I can actually move very fast, at times. I... haven't been able to move fast, other than when the doc offered me ritalin, for decades. I don't know what has changed, but I kicked the dishes out and set them back to a soak in near record time. It's not every job, but sometimes something kicks in and I just roll over the project, and do a fine job on the way. I really have to be getting better. I really... I just haven't seen this sort of function since I was on submarines. Submarines weren't a place for slackers, and I was considered a bit of a marvel even on that first sub.
I had thought to get a shower in. I decided it was too late and I was too tired. It is about bedtime. Yeah. And excellent day. An amazing beginning of the week. I am hoping to keep it going until Thursday, maybe Friday, but really chill this weekend to try to hit it again next Monday. While it seems I am just hitting dishes, some laundry, and the bedroom, the way things are working, almost every room is getting a bit of work just in passing. A lot isn't mentioned that is being done. Too small, or coincidental, or... such. Good night.

I've slowed down just a bit.
.
.
Though, perhaps, shoveling the driveway took something extra out before I started. Still... I finally cleared the closet. It isn't dusty or dirty, just... I actually washed it out the last time I was in there. It has remained remarkably clean. Still, I do believe I'll get the bug spray stuff going, or at least get it ready, remove any larger bits on the flood... I suppose I could spray yet tonight, let it dry overnight, then powder the floor tomorrow... letting the powders do their work for a few days, a mix of baking soda and diatomaceous earth.
Yet tonight, as well, I would like to rip into the clothes and all else I am going to be washing this week. Separating... mostly by type. Some really get into that. I pretty much just separate as cotton/poly, wool/synth that require special/gentle wash, then color and white as a final grouping of those groups. Nothing fancy. Still, I have a lot of stuff to wash. I will be doing all of my main blankets, and some spares, that were in the main bedroom and used over the summer and into this fall and winter so far. As well, I hope to do the dishes one more go. But before putting them back in for another sudsy soak, taking another shower. Perhaps a shower will help me shake out some of the stiffness that is turning to soreness from crouching. A little cranky, but for my condition, that I can crouch while doing dishes for an half hour, three or four times in a day? Yeah, not bad for an old dead guy. Almost a little spooky. *grins*
If I do anything else, it will be to tinker with the refrigerator door. Or probably just to see if that can turn into too much of a mess. Who knows, maybe they have springs in there, or special tools are required. All you have to do is take a gun apart, thinking the notion is simple, to find that it takes weeks, and the purchase of a parts kit, to get the thing operational again to stop charging in head first into what might well be a solidly built brick wall.
Not bad, though. I am slowing. I may only make it a day or two more at most. But I will be well into it and there is only one direction from then on. While the spare bedroom is okay, I really prefer my main bedroom. I just do.
I did order a last present, for my brother and his family. Fancy food delights. I am just hoping they like it. You can never be sure. And, often, they would never tell you if they liked them or not. I wonder how many people get stuff, from me, they would rather not have? Oh well, I've done my best. No handing out of geese this year, or such, so... I wish I could find good fruit that isn't a total ripoff. I would love to send that. But it's... not right to spend that kind of money on so little fruit. It's great quality, but... no.
Later, most likely.

Wow.
.
.
I shoveled the snow without even a break or kink. Just... did it. It was only an inch or more like two. It was wet. It just didn't seem heavy. It didn't even feel like work. Yeah, I finished it, and pulled the trash bin back from the curb when done. Amazing, really. My legs aren't in pain, I have come to realize, mostly. They are stiff is all. Which... probably means pain is in the near or nearer future. Until then, clean like it's 1672*?
So, what next? Dishes, most likely. Washing them will not fully clean them. I will have to set them up for one more wash. Too many dishes with fatty things in them. But, if I clean really well, one more time should do it. After the dishes, which will begin after a gaming break, I will get into the main bedroom and begin working in the closet again. If the closet seems to be getting the better of me, I'll hit the clothes... just sorting. Sorting clothes... or dirty laundry... or laundry that will be washed regardless... is an easy task, that can be done at leisure if need be.
Sometime today I would like to set up the shelving in the spare bedroom. The first boxes to go in will be movie dvds/blu rays. I have most in a small boxes, but would like to organize them into type, then by name, then make a list and sort them into bigger boxes... give or take. Which will clear my new computer table, which isn't quite fully constructed, which will be finished. I won't quite move onto it yet, but... with it clear and finished, that just becomes a matter of time. Then what? I don't know. Perhaps a load or two of laundry that I want and need for the week. Heck yeah.
Why? How? I just can't know that. I am working as if I was healthy as a horse. If at some leisure. It is difficult to both work hard and work complicated matters at the same time though. I can move mountains, but sorting and figuring sort of kicks me in the bullocks. Thinking and lifting at the same time is... that is the problem. Even so, I am doing better than should be expected, even were I completely healthy, given the types of workloads involved. I'll just keep at it. Yum!

A price for work, a fair price.
.
.
I didn't have a stool to sit when doing dishes, and I have been doing them in a tub in the tub. No, I don't stutter... as a matter of practice, I can be brought to that mind you, I suppose? So, my back and legs are just a bit... stiff, or with ache, and... feeling it, as they say. I think, as I continue with dishes I am going to take the short chair in there. Or get knee pads on and do it that way. Still, it isn't a wipe-out. Oh, but sleeping in the spare bedroom means sleeping on, pretty much, a new mattress. It is firm, or extra firm, as I like it. My mattress in my main bedroom is... definitely 'broken'. It's replacement has been on my list for some time. Though... whether to just buy a new top, or even mattress set, in queen, or to move up to king? No, probably stay with queen. If a king is eventually called for, I can turn that into another spare room bedset.
Anyway... I wasn't down, finally, until after 5:00. I woke around noon. Seven hours down seems pretty short but everything felt right, and it felt like it was time to wake. It looks like we got our first snow today. Not much, but enough that I should, before too long, get out there and see to it. I don't want it to freeze. I just hope it hasn't already. It will, most likely, be gone even by tomorrow. But if it doesn't warm it will freeze and if it freezes, that stuff will be stuck on until the next real thaw. Those random thaws can be hoped for during the winter, but there is never any surety. So... yeah... shoveling snow is on the menu.
I set up the dishes that I set to a soak last night. I simply drained most of the water, added hot fresh water with more soap. I will begin working in the main bedroom again, in the closet, then separating types of laundry. I have been and will be doing little extra things all throughout the process, both in that room and in other rooms. You can't just clean, you have to beat the joint into submission, and keep clobbering it until it is done... or... done, in the main, for a moment. I can't really keep up after that. Though, as all know, that job is never, ever finished. It is good enough, for the time, as things stand, until... tomorrow, or the next meal, or... And a thankless damned job. Not really a man's job, but I don't seem to have any volunteers. Urhm, for now. *wink*
I have some packages to go back, but I have a bit. I will need the snow cleared first anyway. And then I'll want fresh clothes, which means... another day or two, assuming everything goes well. And, while a pain in the posterior, having a cause to get out will ensure I do some things in a more timely manor, in theory. I need to do shopping anyway, especially after having cleared my fridge. Cabbage, greens, eggs, milk, butter, cream, and a large supply of sheesh! I've been out of all of that for some time. Well, I had eggs, but those really don't do well in the fridge with science experiments. I suppose if I kept my fridge in tip top eggs would do okay, for longer. But with experiments of an unintended nature going on, it... Ew... nasty. However, with the fridge cleared, mostly, save condiments, I may try to break it down and clean it out. My problem is the door swings the wrong way, so that getting the base drawers in and out is a nightmare, at the best. I think one side simply cannot be removed. Hmm... but I did look. I think the doors can be switched to the other side. I have to do both the fridge and freezer doors though. I've never done such, not sure just how difficult that process is. I may do a youtube gander and... fix that if possible.
Huh? Yeah. It's wonderful. Mostly. I love having some wind in my lungs and on my back. A grace. Having a woman around has always helped with that, a bit. But I have never allowed myself to let go, or I wouldn't be here. I do well for, in every regard, given the limits of my condition. I think I am one of few who can almost completely set them aside from time to time. Just shoveling is probably... inhuman given the givens. All good though. Mostly because I believe I have achieved a family in grace.
Good day.
.

Good day.
Yeah?

Oh yeah. I didn't do what I planned. I did that and then more. Not to be fancy, not pushing, just because I could. Beside putting the towels in the drier until done, I folded them and put them away. I didn't think that would happen. After finishing the dishes, I did dry and either allow to finish air drying or put away that load... I then cleaned out the refrigerator (of foods needing to go), then got the trash out. THEN set up another load of dishes, partly from what I had cleaned out of the refrigerator. And, of course, trash and recycling went out, though I didn't have enough recycling to bother, and am not sure if this is recycling day anyway. About all I have been putting into recycling lately has been cat food cans.
Yes, late. But it's been trending that way. I just work when I can, and do what I can. I am a bit beat, finally. Which is fine. I did get a fan into the spare room. That room has a vent. And, even at 66, and shutting the vent down, that room is still going too be too hot. Yeah, I know. That's just weird. I've always been like that, even when I was a skinny child. I could sit in the snow in my skivvies (worked better when we lived on farms, mind you... and when I was too young to know better). I hated clothes, that hasn't changed much. Oh well.
As I work through things in this next week, some things are more important to get washed than others. My robes would be good, and a basic wardrobe would help. Blankets and sheets, and that sort of thing, will be first, because they have a place. I should have stripped my bed in my main bedroom first. Now I have a ton of clothes and such on it. Yeah... But then why strip it and have all that stuff on it. I would live to, when I get the room taken down, after spraying and dusting, to let it air out for a few days before vacuuming... oh and steam vacuuming. I do have my own machine for that. If that does it on the first time, great. If not, just hit it again. I have been itching to rip into that room for a very long time. It needs it.
Oh, the one thing I forgot was setting up the shelving. Not a major issue. Part of the problem is that I can't find some parts though. I'll look as I do other things tomorrow. But I did look on amazon for storage solutions. There is something I like better than more hanging shirt/sweater shelving. It's, essentially, a freestanding 'cloth' closet, mostly with just shelves I think. Jeans and pants on bottom, t-shirts on top, the rest can hang. Or... something.
Good night, and good morning, I suppose. Most of you will just be waking when you read this, unless your sleep is whack, or you are a durner furner. Anywhile... good night.

Well. Well?

Yes. I started digging into the closet. Hmm. It's... not like it was in the dream. Much slower. So many small, fine, disparate, considerations. Ammunition, clothes, stuff, and more. But! I have started. I have cleared the top shelf in there and pulled most of the clothes. Some things I know are clean. I may just put those in the other closet, for the moment. The other closet, though, has a musty smell. Hmm... Not sure. And, dry cleaned goods... I... Always some small detail that just... can stop things up. For now, so far, I have just set the consideration aside and gone on to other things.
I will be doing a TON of laundry. Things old, things new, things to be given to charity, things to be stored apart. Oh, it's going to be a large part of what I will be doing for a while, soon. First I want that room cleaned, at least the closet, before I start. And, on my rest days, I may do laundry on those days, just in small batches and at a leisurely pace. AFTER the closet is cleared, sprayed, dusted with the various things, and vacuumed. Between this and that, the rest of my bedroom will initially be getting a spit and lick, until I am ready to hit it hard. By then much should be done. The place should be organized when I am done. If not, I will consider ordering more organizing devices, such as hanging shirt holders and a smaller shoe one (great for underwear). And, perhaps, a metal mesh shelf, with containers for various items. Good dressers are out of my financial reach and I refuse to have particle board dressers for what I consider should be the price of solid wood ones. RE.. FUSE!
What I learned, from the kitchen, was that it wasn't so much just laziness or illness, but also that I simply didn't have enough space for everything to really have a place. So, as I go forward, one of the things I will fix is... if I hit an overload problem, then I need to reconsider my spaces, adding this or that in order to make it work. Then, as things get sorted, it should become much easier to... pare down what is not needed, wanted, used. Ugh! But first it has to be separated, sorted, and THEN considered.
I may try to get the last group of dishes from earlier washed, rinsed, and either dried, or semi-dried and left to air dry as I sleep. While I didn't want to do any laundry that would need to be stored in the bedroom, I decided to do all of the towels. Every towel I could find. I washed them with soap and vinegar in a prewash, then again in soap with baking soda in the prewash. I may see about putting those away as a last thing. Oh, well, that and gathering and removing the trash!
This will be a heck of a day if I get these last things done. Actually, even if I don't. Epic if I do, I should think. This sprang, sort of, out of nowhere. Oh, I've been... edging that way. It just, I felt the call but never got the rush. What I got today was incredible. I'm not even tired, if I do grow weary... two different things I assure you. Now, to get these last chores finished. Good night.

Moving along fairly well.
.
.
How fast can you go? Given simply shape, minus all other problems, there are limits. And, yet, sometimes, even those limits can be suspended. I am doing well beyond what my condition would warrant, leaving health out of it. I get the feeling that I could do this all the time. If something were just a little different. I don't even think it's the heart, or condition, or will, want, need... it's faith. Then again, I am sure that, if my faith was enough, or correct, I could move mountains. Not that I would, mind you... not without a reason.
Oh, I think I'll do well this week. I am hoping to have the bedroom and bathroom clean, the kitchen nearly up to pace, and be ready for a bit of a break then on to the living room and this front computer room. Then upstairs. I am hoping to get the shelving up yet today. I may order several more of those, medium/small moving boxes, packing material, and begin sorting, boxing or tossing, labeling, and storing.
I need to get the closet cleaned out before hitting laundry, but I might be able to get that, mostly, done tonight/tomorrow. I can, in slow moments, begin sorting the laundry. I will want to clean the closet, nearly a walk in, then bug spray and dust it with the various things. Yeah, it gets tricky how to do this and that without stalling everything, and yet... never mind. I will get into it. With the spare bedroom open and operational, I don't have to push to try to do too much all at once. Hmm... I might spray the spare bedroom, then shake the powders out in there too, while I am at it. Then, when all dry and having set for a few days, vacuum that room out. It's not bad, just maintenance and extending the "works".
I best get a shower taken, then get the dishes soaking again. I finished about half of them, the more finicky ones... silverware, bowls, knives, and such. The plastic bowls just... had too much goop. I try to clean them out first, but plastic just loves fat, holds on to it. One more soak and wash, after my shower, and that should be ready. I also cleaned out one of the kitchen sink basins while at it. Ugh but the kitchen is a mess again. Nowhere near what it was, but... it'll take some work. Perhaps I'll have it ready for a plumber by December... or January. Ugh...
Yes, yes, I think I can. I've said it before, I'll say it again. I often fail, but I do get back up and at it. Bleh. Later.

I stopped trying to make things happen and just let them happen, sleep, work, waking... I just let go of the wheel. I was doing fine until Friday, I think, then things just started coming off the rails. No problem. This time I saw it and let go before it all tore me apart. There is a time you can ride the bull, there is a time to get off, and there is a time where even approaching the cage is known to be the wrong choice.
In this case, just letting go and going... native? Just doing what works, without too much... or any... forethought. Just letting instincts and action and reaction take the lead. I didn't go down until very late. I didn't wake until even later. So be it. I didn't want to wake up under a loadstone, and waited until I wouldn't. Then? Then right into the storm.
I tore into the dishes that I set to soak. Washing them all, cleaning the tub and setting them to a fresh soak. Then I went to my spare bedroom and started ripping into that. Not bad, I kicked that out in... probably no more than fifteen minutes. That is now ready, should I decide to do so, to sleep in there while I rip into my bedroom. Then I started... ripping into my bedroom.
Oh... my... That is... going to take a bit. The first thing is to sort wash out. There was... hrm... a bit. But, actually, before that gets finished, I will probably do what I dreamed about first... clean out the closet... top to bottom. Everything comes out, every surface will be cleaned, then rinsed, vacuumed, dusted, and whatever else I think is necessary. THEN I hit every stitch of clothes, every functional and spare blanket, sheet sets, everything! As I do these, in small batches, I will begin putting things in very specific places. I have purchased a number of items, so that along with my dresser, I should have easy right room for every stitch.
Now, while doing this, clothes that are tattered, faded, not worn or even liked, are going into a bag(s). Since clean, I am not going to worry about folding. Those will go away. While I am sorting, folding, storing, I will hit the other parts of the bedroom. Oh, and treat the room for bugs. Oh, nothing special, just the normal treatment that really helps a home. Being that I will be sleeping in the spare bedroom, I can close it up. I won't be doing too potent of a stuff... it just has to be dry before the area is pet-safe... mostly. As well, I will probably hit it with (food grade) diatomaceous earth, let that work for a few days... probably along with baking soda, then vacuum that up in a couple days, or when I finish. Yeah... I am finally going to really throw myself at it.
I was amazed at how much I got done in one throw. And yet, it... I felt it. Oh, sweet Lord, please watch over your foolish monster's monster. A hunter, not before Thee, but a hunter, if an old one. Amen.
Welp!?! Later. I'll take a bit of a break, then hit the dishes, take a shower, then put them in for a rinse. Another break and then laundry will be sorted into types... to make room TO get to the closet. Another break, or maybe tomorrow, I will then hit the closet. Oh... hep me, hep me, hep me. Yeah, later.
