I didn't have a stool to sit when doing dishes, and I have been doing them in a tub in the tub. No, I don't stutter... as a matter of practice, I can be brought to that mind you, I suppose? So, my back and legs are just a bit... stiff, or with ache, and... feeling it, as they say. I think, as I continue with dishes I am going to take the short chair in there. Or get knee pads on and do it that way. Still, it isn't a wipe-out. Oh, but sleeping in the spare bedroom means sleeping on, pretty much, a new mattress. It is firm, or extra firm, as I like it. My mattress in my main bedroom is... definitely 'broken'. It's replacement has been on my list for some time. Though... whether to just buy a new top, or even mattress set, in queen, or to move up to king? No, probably stay with queen. If a king is eventually called for, I can turn that into another spare room bedset.
Anyway... I wasn't down, finally, until after 5:00. I woke around noon. Seven hours down seems pretty short but everything felt right, and it felt like it was time to wake. It looks like we got our first snow today. Not much, but enough that I should, before too long, get out there and see to it. I don't want it to freeze. I just hope it hasn't already. It will, most likely, be gone even by tomorrow. But if it doesn't warm it will freeze and if it freezes, that stuff will be stuck on until the next real thaw. Those random thaws can be hoped for during the winter, but there is never any surety. So... yeah... shoveling snow is on the menu.
I set up the dishes that I set to a soak last night. I simply drained most of the water, added hot fresh water with more soap. I will begin working in the main bedroom again, in the closet, then separating types of laundry. I have been and will be doing little extra things all throughout the process, both in that room and in other rooms. You can't just clean, you have to beat the joint into submission, and keep clobbering it until it is done... or... done, in the main, for a moment. I can't really keep up after that. Though, as all know, that job is never, ever finished. It is good enough, for the time, as things stand, until... tomorrow, or the next meal, or... And a thankless damned job. Not really a man's job, but I don't seem to have any volunteers. Urhm, for now. *wink*
I have some packages to go back, but I have a bit. I will need the snow cleared first anyway. And then I'll want fresh clothes, which means... another day or two, assuming everything goes well. And, while a pain in the posterior, having a cause to get out will ensure I do some things in a more timely manor, in theory. I need to do shopping anyway, especially after having cleared my fridge. Cabbage, greens, eggs, milk, butter, cream, and a large supply of sheesh! I've been out of all of that for some time. Well, I had eggs, but those really don't do well in the fridge with science experiments. I suppose if I kept my fridge in tip top eggs would do okay, for longer. But with experiments of an unintended nature going on, it... Ew... nasty. However, with the fridge cleared, mostly, save condiments, I may try to break it down and clean it out. My problem is the door swings the wrong way, so that getting the base drawers in and out is a nightmare, at the best. I think one side simply cannot be removed. Hmm... but I did look. I think the doors can be switched to the other side. I have to do both the fridge and freezer doors though. I've never done such, not sure just how difficult that process is. I may do a youtube gander and... fix that if possible.
Huh? Yeah. It's wonderful. Mostly. I love having some wind in my lungs and on my back. A grace. Having a woman around has always helped with that, a bit. But I have never allowed myself to let go, or I wouldn't be here. I do well for, in every regard, given the limits of my condition. I think I am one of few who can almost completely set them aside from time to time. Just shoveling is probably... inhuman given the givens. All good though. Mostly because I believe I have achieved a family in grace.
Good day.
