I ordered corn, to be picked up Monday. A lot of it. The people called me back, tonight, and made a counterproposal. They had received an order for twenty dozen, twice what I ordered, but... that fell through. So, could I pick my order up early? Not a problem. That corn was fantastic. And a few days early is all good. As a fact, I ordered a few extra dozen, to hand out.
So, to town to pick that up. The front yard got extra water. I could have moved it earlier, but let it go. The yard needs extra water anyway. Only the front will really get it. It rained for a bit, then just... stopped. Haven't had water in a while. But I have been trying to keep it watered before it got too bad again.
I did stop at fast food. Since I was out, so I wouldn't have to cook. Not the best food, but it was warm, fast, and relatively cheap. Just in, and out. But I spent a good half hour speaking with the gent. He's a bit of a traveler, if mostly into Mexico. Visiting the various peoples from down that way. The indigenous peoples. He is of one people, English. He suggested they had one distant relative who was Dutch. But, other than that... I am just the opposite. Everyone in my family comes from blood enemies, all, and of each other.
Anyway... so, there I have thirteen dozen ears of corn. Can't quite get to them tonight, but tomorrow. Some will be gifted out. Some of the finest corn I have eaten. Not a worm was found, so far. And hefty corn, thick, like eaten vegetal velvet? Something like that. Quite the find, which is why I ordered more as soon as I found the note, number, and was awake at a reasonable hour.
Not much else, tonight. Just the watering. Then I'll close the place up, go on to bed, and get to a few light things tomorrow. Maybe a shower tonight, though. Maybe. But tomorrow? Bathroom cleaning, light stuff. Sorting. And, possibly a start, maybe through to a finish, cleaning the oven. If I do anything heavier, if it isn't too hot or I feel okay out in it, possible cutting the bigger branches down to lengths, to be moved over to the other pile of lengths of bigger branches.
But, that is probably it. Oh, I might work on cardboard tonight, and finish that tomorrow if I don't get it all done tonight. Who knows. I'm not in for a long haul, hard hitting, work day. That's all I am saying. Not much Sunday, either. But, Monday, if possible, I'd like to dig back in. Mostly the bathroom, down to the nubs. Then a start in on the kitchen, and this room. Especially since cardboard should be packed back down, and put in the Xterra for removal soon. I really need to unload her, the next time I am in town. Ugh.
Even if next week is a bit hotter, I'd still like to push on through. If I can. If not... I'll just wait a bit longer. When it cools, I need to rake. First branches. Though, this year, I would like to get leaves up and gone, early, before they make too much of a mess. I am definitely hoping to get a lot of work done this fall. Maybe even cleaning out the garage, while at other things. Well, and cement patching the whole in the driveway. Little and big things. We'll see.
Oh, and I should be getting the manual for the Xterra, and some other tools and parts in order to change oil, filters, check other fluids, and else. I made a deal with someone, to have some equipment available, and to act as an advisor as I learn to do some things with my suv. It's a start.
And... maybe... there might be a bike sooner than anticipated. Maybe. Just, from how things are sounding, it's possible. Some negotiated ideas have been passed, from a main and side actor. Could see if it will work. It would just be a starter. Something to figure out gears, breaks, and else. And... just a maybe. But, when, if, all... other things. And, I would want a helmet, riding jacket, riding pants, and actual riding gloves. Though, with else taken care of, over the next month or two, it is possible.
Yes, especially with water caught up, the serger paid, mostly, and just a few bills to pay down. Even with savings doing well, this month, and better next month, there will still be some room to wiggle parts and bits as things get going. Always an if, though, isn't it? If, and when not an if, a when. Always something. But that is a joy, not a complaint. I love not being... sure. God didn't give me a promise on all things, only all things in their time. Which... assumes that something has a time, which it may not. Or... not a time in my timeline? Amen.
Almost done watering. I decided to have more corn. Should have done that earlier, but you know how that sometimes goes. I was still full from supper, though, too. Didn't think I'd want corn tonight. But that was so very good. Had to have more, as time crept by. Water is going, it is husked, live is good, will be better. Later.
