Looking at protective gear, for motorcycling. I had thought it would be a lot more expensive. Truth is, you can get a decent set for, boots, jacket, helmet, and pants, for about $500. Now, that's a starter set. And only 1a(?) protection. But most of this gear can be upgraded to 2a protection... or is it class II. Anyway... depends who is saying it, but the idea is the same. A 1 or I level of protection is about 1 second at... 45 kph or ~30 mph... before spilling dna instead of protective layering.
Anyway... Just curious. And, at $60 to $220, for example, per item, they can be bought over time, or in groups. And, actually, I have boots which are steel toed, with steel shafts, and thick leather, that would work easily, and probably better, for bike boots than most of what is offered. Construction boots, of the highest ratings for protection. They don't go up, high, for certain protection. But most guys don't wear true boots. Though, if I ride in winter, I may go to the pull on engineer boots... for warmth as much as else. Just... looking.
Well... I've had breakfast. It's time to... check on a few things. Get up and... look around. Maybe mow the lawn. Something. Have a good day.
