I couldn't get to sleep well. And I couldn't wake well. I set the alarms for 07:00 and 09:00. Both were pushing it, but I... hoped. The 07:00 alarm was snoozed twice before I became aware enough to know better. It was shut down. The 09:00? I... I think it ran through all the snoozes, unless I missed the last one or shut it off. I can't remember, but I didn't think I heard and woke to every snooze.
Finally, at noon, I was able to rise. O U C H. At first everything was red-lining. If there were dummy lights for pain, my face would have been red from their outputs as if on a dashboard. I... wasn't... didn't think I would be getting up, other than for painpills then back to bed! Wouch.
But, as I cam further into actual consciousness, my body took back over pain management, and tucked those loose ends and haywires here and there. It's still back there, but as sandbags for sandbagging, not for conscious pain. All good. Acetaminophen is still on the way, so I'll have to use anacin. Which, is fine, as an irregular anyway. Just... in case the psychic shielding fails. Wow, that was... something. It's rare that I see what's back there. Now THAT is exquisite. If, on a bad day, everything I can feel, plus that... if it ever hit full stride consciously? I... don't think there are words for it. This morning was breathtaking, literally. So not even that will do.
Still, my strength is back. While it didn't hurt, after working, during the work, I began losing my strength. My arms became numb. Having strength back is worth the pain, well... some level of it. Being weak is a... spooky thing. Though that is the beginning to shaping up. And, nothing bad happened, so...
Chores done. The few waterers that needed changed were pulled, a few were fed... wait, I think there was one in the rabbit barn... I'll get that after this. Or at least check. If I think so, I have to at least check. They can go a day without food, from time to time. Not so water, perhaps. Still, I'd rather they not. They are caged 'guests'. They are at my mercy. So, feed and water are requirements, duties, even near or actual holy obligations. Yes, that is how I think on it. Or at least the level I put it.
A shower, and maybe shave, as well... in a bit. Medicine in. Blood sugar is 188 fasting? Weird. I am still using the questionable glucometer (in spite of it not reading glucose). But it has been rather accurate from previous comparisons. So... But why so high? I did have all three pork chops, and a regular and small can of veggies. Yes, that was just too much. Okies... But, still... Average for the week is 135, so... I'll just watch things a bit closer now. Yes, I took insulin with it, but just a tiny dose. Might try upping that just a bit, with a bigger meal. Insulin is scary. It can do little to nothing, or crash blood sugar so hard I go into a tailspin.
The girls are fed, but I need to get their litter tended. I am hoping, soon, to check back for waterers... medium and small. I could use half a dozen, to a dozen, more of each. Maybe double that. When all is said and done, I will have eleven or twelve cages full, not counting the rug-kits when they start popping... if the silly things will breed.
Now, the rabbits don't use a medium, or even a small one, in a day. If I use the small ones for small rabbits, which I do. The smalls use a small in about two days, the bigger rabbits use a medium in two to three days, and a mongo one is used in about three days with the double smalls and three or four days with a bigger rabbit. So, I don't need them for daily turn over. Further? It's not daily daily changes any more. Each rabbit, on any given group of days, will drink some variation that could only be averaged, never quite knows. So, oddly, what used to be needed to be changed, pretty much, every day, now doesn't get changed for every other or every third... or even fourth... day. Maybe I don't need at many waterers, but...
As well, I am hoping to set up a drip waterer, with metal nipples, for them. Both for ease of filling, and so that I can actually place a frozen bottle, or two, in there, and cool all their water at once, or per cage group, or such. I am buying gear I am hoping will allow me to heat the water in the winter, and perhaps run an aquarium pump and a small heater to keep the lines open. There are limits, but... I can try.
Anyway... I best get started and going. Feed the ones I may have forgotten, then a shower and shave, and dressed up like a grownup, perhaps just for practice! Wee! At least the pain is gone from waking. And painkillers are down and strength is, at least mostly, back. Cheers, sweetpeas. Have a great day. I will.
