Down to the numbers.

.
.
I haven't gotten to anything.  Well, I made a meal, two if you count tossing alfalfa sprouts on boiled eggs and salting the lot.  I did step out to check the temp.  It is just under 50, or was.  But it's more than just the temperature.  It is, even with the sun seeming to be out, as if it really isn't.  The palest shadow seems to hang over the world, hereabouts anyway.  It makes getting to anything more difficult.  Sam, actually, has problems too.

No worries.  And there is still a chance I could get to something, small or large.  Rather than drilling holes in the lid, for the worm farm, I am most likely going to cut the center out for much better airflow, then hot-glue screening onto the top.  I just think that would be better for the worms.  If it ends up stinking, I would bet that it won't matter if there are thirty holes or one big open one.  Though I doubt if I will get to that part today.  A shower, hopefully.  A few dishes probably.  Then cleaning cast and the last of the counters beside the stove, though going over the stove again... and the other side.  I made fried chicken gizzards, messy if delicious.

A slow morning.

.
.
No worries.  If I work today, or not, I am good.  Though I suspect I will get some things done.  It is dark, it feels cool to cold, but it is a weekend, I have been working as often as I have been able.  And, yet, weekends... I find it best not to take too much time off.  Health requires that sometimes, but before I had health problems and now that I am doing better, I realize that taking time off isn't really a good thing for the body, mind, spirit, or soul.  Doing too much is the other side of the problem.  A good reasonable amount of effort each day is the best way to go, with one day more relaxed than the others and maybe another day of milder effort somewhere in the week as well.  Assuming one has the choice.

I would like to definitely remove sod, place down cardboard, maybe plastic on top of that, and maybe do some work on the worm farms.  A thousand worms will fit in one bigger bin nicely.  I only need to set up one bin as such.  I did find out how much food they suggest... around a pound of compost material a week per thousand worms.  Now, I think that has to be a bit off.  I have been doing more like a quarter pound a day, and it is gone by the next day.  Though these are a slightly larger worm than red wigglers.

As well, I would like to do some work in the kitchen.  Just sorting, storing, tossing, and whatever it takes to clear the area, cleaning to follow.  The table and counters are the main goal for now.  I don't think I'll get to sweeping and mopping today, perhaps sweeping?  A lot of women I have known, from mothers to sisters to women women, those who were good at housekeeping, all seemed to have one thing in common... something I have always hated... clearing space.  Clearing counters, clearing all horizontal surfaces, clearing floors, clearing chairs, clear, clear, clear!

As much as I hate that, I like to know where everything is, in case it decides to attack!?!  Well, something.  I just hate having everything put up, put away, ordered, and arranged, but hidden.  And, yet, as I work on cleaning, I realize... it's... probably the way to go.  It'll sting.  Will my toys be there when I go to play?  Will I forget about them and so never use them?  I don't know.  For the first time since I have lived here, though, that little hallway from the kitchen to the bathroom is clear.  And, yes, it feels much much better.  Feels?  Yes, feels.

So, that is how I will be doing things.  If I am not using or working on something, then it will go up, away, hidden, out of sight.  If it sits for too long, almost no matter how expensive it is?  I'll very possibly end up tossing it.  Really?  Yeah...  Incentive.  It is the only way.  Uhrm, assuming I get to it.  After I get everything clear, then what?  Then I begin going through cabinets, drawers, closets, and containers.  Organizing as I go, tossing too.

Not too much today.  Perhaps some cleaning in the kitchen, and the bedroom.  Even if I just fill or move a box in there, or pick up or organize for an hour... I just want to say I have started.  Next week I hope to finish the kitchen and most of that bedroom.  This winter I may well order a new mattress for in there.  If high summer works out, I might have the en suit finished.  I really might.  To fit the floor drain I might finally use the router, though I may use it to make nesting sifters, for separating worms, their eggs, and composted soil.  Fun, really.

Later.

Good.

.
.
I suspect I slept a bit long.  No choice.  Though I can't be sure.  I have no idea when I finally did actually go to bed.  It was 17:00 or later, other than that I simply don't know.  I did get a shower in.  I plan on a bath today, though when I can't be sure.  Sleep was quite good, waking was easy, no pain or stiffness.  I was a bit beyond just tired, though, when I did get to bed.

Today?  I think I will keep at it.  I am hoping to do some more weeding, pull the rest of the sod out of the berry bush area, cover everything with cardboard and plastic, and begin working on the new worm beds.  Inside, I hope to hit the kitchen.  Clearing the table and counters, washing, putting dishes away, sweeping, perhaps mopping.

Of course I need to eat while at things.  I have been doing okay keeping everything balanced.  Even cleaning up after myself when I cook and eat.  Even if it's brutal, I seem to be able to keep up, even getting ahead obviously.

A few other things?  Whenever I end up bathing, I will be taking the plants in to enjoy the warmth, and water them in the tub.  A trick one of my women taught me.  Oh, and I will thaw a leg of lamb for roasting tomorrow.  I hope to make mayonnaise today as well, in hopes of steaming the artichokes to go with some of that.  I also want to get in and do some work in the main bedroom, as well as a few loads of laundry.  And, one last thing, spraying for bugs around the perimeter of the house.  It really works well, when I remember to do it.  No need to do it in the winter, but once in the spring, and then as fall arrives, and life is much more pleasant.

I won't get to it immediately, however, I did... since I was being a good boy and keeping up... order parts and various sorts of parts, to attempt to put the sink plumbing to order.  One more shot.  If it fails, I will call in a plumber.  I even purchased new sink basin drain attachments, with baskets, in an attempt to keep the plumbing working.  One more shot.  Though I probably will see about getting a plumber to change out the faucet?  I haven't ordered one of those yet, still looking.  Maybe in high summer, when the other tasks have been funded and I... have a bit of a financial break?  That's the idea.  Along with some work in the en suit.  With the ac right there in that bedroom, I can be cool enough to work if that is an issue.

Bits and pieces, but it is coming together.  I am getting and staying ahead.  I am eating better, more often, and right... staying clean if keto seems to cause problems... catching up on the house in various ways.

A bit of business as I'm sliding down.

.
.
I remembered, I think just in time, to pay my mortgage.  As well, I am applying for a static interest rate, then at 15 years instead of 30.  I can easily pay the amount they have suggested, which is actually less than I was planning to set up as my usual interest.  I mean, it would be $840(ish).  I had been paying $950, and on some months where I am more careful, adding another $300~$500.  Still, they may not allow it.  In which case I'll just have to do what it takes, and set up the payments... making sure they put the extra against principle.  Ugh.  If that doesn't work, I'll settle for the 30 year plus static interest.  It all takes time, approval, fuss, more so the 15 year.  They don't want to hand that out, the lower rate and faster payoff isn't, at the moment, favoring them.  They will find any way they can to kill it.  We'll see.

Oh, my mother said growing potatoes, by the old school thinking, was a way to ensure the crop was good, when planted on Good Friday.  I told here that, while not potatoes, jerusalem artichokes are a replacement for diabetics, so it counts.  I wasn't sure, at the time, if I would get them in the dirt or not.  Looks like I did.

New God, old gods, and various things.  Oh, yes, there are various things.  There is, however, only one Creator Triumvirate.  Odd though, the old gods had nothing to do with the new God's demise, here.  It had to be from those of His own.  The old ones were taught.  While they can defeat men and angels, together and alone, they can't undo God's will.  Even if they can't know God, most of them, they can know that a force is there which limits them, and learn to live within those limits... much as a plant in a planter does not understand the physics, and may attempt to go beyond it, but it will make do with what it has.

Quite a bit of it.

.
.
Fresh air is a good thing.  I mixed the dirts and planted what I had, where I could.  There were more of everything than I honestly had space.  No worries.  I fit it in and will learn one way or another.  If need be, later in the summer, I will replant if it looks like it's too much.  With the horseradish, I trimmed the ends.  They were rough looking.  There were no buds or growth, so I don't think I could have hurt them.

Next I weeded the small plot, for when the rhubarb arrives.  I did go out to look over the raspberry patch.  The black plastic has done nothing regarding getting rid of grass.  I am not sure, actually, if it is keeping weeds out of the spots that were dug.  I... just didn't want to mess around more.  I was pretty much done, just wanted to check the grass.  It'll come out soon enough.  And, when that happens, I'll put cardboard down on both areas.  I don't know if that will really work.  I'll find out.

I think the only things I didn't do was clearing the rest of the grass from that patch, oh and put down cardboard, but then shower.  I believe I will take a shower shortly.  I simply need to catch my breath a bit.  It isn't horribly hard labor, but it isn't simple either.  Moving bags of soil and mulch, arranging planters laden with soil, a bit of digging to root out weeds, plus the rest of the work.  It is wearying.  It hasn't destroyed me, as it did several times recently.  All good.  Oh, I best check the thawed meats.  If they are good I will cook that tonight, just batch it as meat crumble to be added to whatever.  If not, or either way, I'll pull other meat to thaw.

Life is good.  I sure enjoyed today.  Gardening, the house, and a few other odds and ends.  I'm not quite done.  Oh, and some business.  Though, for the blog, good night.

More. Probably a bit more even so.

.
.
Yeah, probably not the whole list.  Some of the work, beside taking longer than anticipated, is also taking more out of me than anticipated.  Scrubbing the floors on my hands and knees, for example, was quite a lot more than it seemed from the other side of the task.  The worm bin and transfer would have been easier than I thought save the other lid with a hole in it had a fan hot-glued to it.  Which... meant... a very risky pocketknife removal technique.  I think that is how I cut myself often.  Oh well, not this time.

I am thinking I might get a shower in.  Then again, I believe I have changed my mind on that.  I believe a shower after I finish the work, and a bath tomorrow when I wake.  What is left?  Putting up greens I steamed earlier, as part of my meal.  Putting meat out to thaw and checking the ground meats and either cooking or tossing those.  Removing more sod from the raspberry designated area, which would actually be fairly easy, mostly, since I won't be double digging the other areas.  A very light weeding of the plot I double dug should be easier.  I think the only other thing on my list, and actually a primary idea, is to set up the planters, exchanging soils, watering while I am at it, and then planting the tubers.

How much can I get done?  I simply don't know.  It will be cooler working outside.  I can bring a chair over and sit while I do some of the work as well.  And I am still donning my knee pads, so... that should ease that part.  Though I have to admit, even with the knee pads, the floor work was brutal on my knees.  The soft soil won't be as bad, but getting back up is... a bit.

Oh, what is amazing?  The 18 gallon bins I ordered are already in!  I was able to get eight of them for the price of four almost anywhere else, and of a name brand.  They arrived super fast too.  They weren't really supposed to show up until... the 19th to the 25th?  Something like that.  So... super!  Having made the beds, the transfer isn't extremely time sensitive, and should also be much easier.  I may or may not add more dirt... depends how it looks.  Though I may add wood mulch along with the shredded paper as cover.

I am amazed at how well things are going together.  It is beating me up to work, but I'm getting through it.

My mother called.  I told her what all is going on.  She seems pleased.  Life has slowed down for her, if I think she can still easily outpace me.  Then again, if you are somewhere between fifteen and eighty five, my guess is she would bury you if you tried to keep up.  If she has a set time and job, you just won't beat her.  There are a few women like her out there, but fewer and fewer.  That's with two major back surgeries, a hip and knee or two, work on her feet, and just passing the middle of her seventh decade.  Anyway... I know it pleases her when I am working.  It is a good thing.

Medium but steady.

.
.
I am still tiring easily.  I find that if I take a slower pace I can keep working for longer, right from one thing to another.

I finished the dishes, mostly.  Plastics get to air dry a bit after hand drying.  I can't get the last of the water from them.  Hopefully, the next time I bother with dishes, I will finish off what is out.  It'll just be stack and a bit of sorting.

After that, I added water to the girls' fountain, then fed them.  I am all but sure Sassy is finally drinking from the device.  She is still nervous around it, but that may be getting used to Sam eating near her.  They used to eat on other sides of the room.  When she was young, she would pester Sam.  As she got older, Sam would bother her back.  It looks like, finally, they will eat together.  Not always convivially, mind you.  But so far so good.  Oh, I'll clean out the litter boxes too.  Now that none are feeding in that general area, it is easy to forget to do that.

After that I went right on to clearing and sweeping the little hall off the kitchen, into the bathroom, then the bathroom too.  After a break I will get down on hands and knees and wash that area, roughly.  Then I will mop both areas a couple times, rinse, then let dry.  No matter how I work at it, dirt just ends up on the floor.  Still, I am keeping up quite well on the bathroom... if I haven't gotten to the sink yet.  Actually I believe I will take a shower first, then begin the floors.

After that, the worms will be tended and split out.  If I have anything left after that, I will first mix and blend soil in the planters and plant what goes in those.  And, then, if there is still something, I will split out cardboard boxes for the bed I double dug and cover that over, plus maybe remove the rest of the sod, and cover that area as well.  Perhaps I will take a bath after that.  Maybe soaking for an hour will help.

Ugh, but, in there, I need to make food.  Steaming some greens, and if the hamburger and ground lamb is still good, I'll cook some of that into crumbles?  Nah, I might steam greens, but I think I'll just eat soft boiled eggs to go with it.  I'm doing well, I just hope to keep it going.  Later.

Better, again, a bit.

.
.
I am still having to fight through a bit.  Work is a strain.  Since waking I have been working well enough.  I buffed the wax off a small single-burner electric 'glass top' device, washed the dishes, putting drying and putting up the glass and metal, letting the plastic go through another hot rinse at the moment.  As well, I replaced the shower curtain, inner and outer, which along with towels I put in the washing machine and started.  A few items have been set closer to where they will go.  Something I have added to my prep mechanical supplies are a large set of sets of epoxy.  It's handy stuff, along with several types of Goop, it can make life easier, whether shtf or not.  I would like to add more goop to my collection as well.  Not sure how long the stuff lasts on the shelf, unopened.  Will find out, most likely.

I am taking a bit of a break.  After, back to the dishes.  Then a shower.  When the sun comes up, I might begin tinkering with the extra worm bin, and transferring half of the critters to the new bin.  It might not be fancy, but I am past that.  I will not become a billionaire.  So I best begin learning how to live without all those bucks.  *grins*  If I can get that done, I would then like to work on mixing and matching the soil in the big planter along with what I purchased and planting some of those items.

I have decided, if all else works out well enough, I may attempt to plant a few tomato and hot pepper plants in planters this summer.  Just enough that I might enjoy some fresh fruits this summer.  If I end up with a bumper crop, I might even attempt canning some of it.  Next year, perhaps, I'll have a few raised beds just for those.  I simply won't try to row-crop items.  Way too much work.  I am excited to begin messing with this stuff again.  And, yeah, I may attempt to trickle-water these items, somehow.  One more think to tinker with, I suppose?

If, and I do mean if, I get to those things, or mostly, at some point I may get to removing more sod from the raspberry area, doing a bit of weeding in the plot I dug, then putting cardboard, then plastic, over those beds until they are ready.  When I plant, I may simply cut slits, or crosses, through the plastic and cardboard, plant, then remove the plastic, leave the cardboard, and mulch right on top of the cardboard?  Very maybe, baby!

It's a kick, kids.  I am really enjoying this.  I might be running into serious walls, falling down, and having trouble with it all, but... okay.  Later.

Just woke.

.
.
Feeling a bit better.  Everything is marginal, including the improvement... at least this time.  I love those rare times when I wake after troubles to seeming be not only better but almost back to a normal I don't even know anymore.  I will take each margin I can rate, however.

Walking into the kitchen and then on into the bathroom, just seeing those areas cleaner helps in it's own way.  A clean stove top is super.  It makes me want to cook, and eat.  With the dishes nearing completion, easy daily showers, for a few days is in the forecast.  Not that showering every day, all the time, is good for you.  It really isn't.  It is a fine, occasional, luxury though.

Today?  Finishing the dishes is the first goal, and while messing with that, cleaning the last counter beside the stove, and washing out the kitchen sink.  Then clearing and cleaning the little hall that lead from the kitchen to the bathroom.  While sweeping and mopping that area I will hit the bathroom again, as well as cleaning the toilet.  Spot hitting the toilet every two to four days makes that chore a lot easier.  Then back to the kitchen.  Mostly just clearing and cleaning the table.

In there, mixed in somehow, I want to set up the planters with freshened soil... after setting up a second worm bin and splitting the worms.  Then planting horseradish and jerusalem artichokes... mulching those while at it.  If I can't do else, I do need to split the worms out today.  That will be done.

I have been sleeping so much that medicine has slipped.  Not really, if you go by waking hours, but... yeah.  I'll do my best.  But when naps turn into full sleep cycles and full sleep cycles turn into half a day and more, I don't have a lot of options.  I'll do what I can.  On to waking first.  Hmm... I may run a fresh soapy soak for the dishes.  Later.

Not even close.

.
.
I am burning out so very fast.  I have the dishes on the last run, all of them.  And while I was doing that, I washed half of the countertop beside the stove and the stove.  The oven and the other half are yet to be done.  Actually, I have a wax that needs to be buffed off the stove top.  The new goal is to finish removing the wax, then to wash, rinse, and let the plastics air dry... mostly.  I give them a bit of a drying, but I've given up on them.  Glass, steel, and such, get hand dried, the rest just gets what it gets.

I'd like to take a shower after that.  I am not sure I can, but it's... a roughed in goal, bordering on a hope.  Then I have to go to bed.  That sounds like I am going right to bed, but that isn't close to the truth.  I can't.  I'm too tired to move that fast.  If I get to bed by 15:00 I'll be doing well.

All else I had hoped to do will have to be done "tomorrow".  If I sleep eight hours... actually, it will be tomorrow no matter what, if my prognostication is correct.  While I might be awake by 23:00, that doesn't mean I'll get to work until literally tomorrow.  I almost never do get right to work.

The worm bin first, the extra.  Then on to some planting, or, really, first some soil arranging, then on to planting.  After that another shower, some work in the kitchen, and maybe a bath.  Yeah, I know.  I'll... do what I can.  Drained, wiped, zapped, but I'll keep at it.  Almost certainly good night.

A bit, with more soon.

.
.
I finished off about half of the dishes.  Rather than resetting the second half to a fresh soak I decided to soak and then wash some very rough dishes that had surfaced.  I cleaned the refrigerator of old stuff, in containers and jars.  But I hadn't emptied them then gotten them into the wash.  Nasty.  So I put those in to a soak and will be washing them shortly.  There aren't that many, but I think they would have degraded the other dishes.  A wash, and if they are good I will soak those with the others one final time.  If they are still pretty nasty I will simply wash them again before adding the others in.  Plastics can get so nasty when combined with oils, in storing various kefir mixes and salad dressings.

I haven't been working fast or hard, bits and pieces.  I wear out so fast and so deeply.  Some of what I am doing is research.  I have six 5 gallon growers pots and a huge planter for various items.  The big planter has soil, but it's old.  I want to work some of that soil out while putting some new soil in.  I figure I can mix and match with the new stuff and that and fill the pots, and make a second worm bin.  Oh, and I may hot-glue door screen mesh to the hole in the worm bin lids, as an added deterrent.  To be honest with you, though, the worms aren't smelling.  I think that is because I am feeding cautiously.  Still, better to be safe then sorry.

I did a bit of looking as to how to mix soil for planters.  If I do get around to planting herbs inside, or planting cuts from the other indoor plants, I'll just go straight for the new soil.  For the worms, I may go more with the peat moss, and a few other things... including some of the soil from the current worm bin.  I'll try to split the worms evenly.  As well, I want to see if the bucket is getting to moist.  If so I'll have to take a little more care, or double bucket the bins, drilling drainage holes.

The goal is to finish the dishes, create a new worm bin and split the worm bins out, and to do a bit of work re-soiling the planters and planting what I have available.  If it seems too cool, I'll plant everything, for now, in smaller planters, and keep those indoors, in the washroom.  I'm not sure I can get this all done, but that is the goal.  As well, a shower.  I'll leave the kitchen for "tomorrow".  Such a rough go of things.  I'll keep trying.  Later or good "night".

Sometimes it really is just cheaper to buy.

.
.
My plants, for now, are hanging in the pots in which they were bought.  Truth is, I really will need to do something else with them.  The planters are fine, as an interior container.  Add an exterior container and some sort of woven support and life is easy.  A few holes drilled in the side, a few inches from the bottom so as to create a reservoir lower down... plus with the outer area in which water could be added for a several day, even several week, vacation.

Buying an exterior container is beyond a doubt the only way I could go.  I simply don't have a means of manufacture that way.  However, there is a choice regarding a woven support.  I could weave that, it's just rope work.  It would take learning, practice, but it is doable.  The thing is it would cost as much to get going on that as to just buy.  Unless I had stuff just lying around.  I suppose paracord would work.  But it would break down fairly quickly, especially with plants that need more sunlight.  Then again, I'm not sure what anything purchased would have been crafted.  Just, I don't think I see any real savings by making your own.

Many things are that way.  Is it really better to buy?  Sometimes.  Sometimes it's the only real choice.  I suppose you could purchase a horse, or if you raise them for other purposes you would have them.  But would you really want to ride a horse to work?  Even a twenty mile ride every day, and back, would be a strain.  Yeah, and extreme example.  And one I wouldn't mind, just not in the kind of automobile traffic that would be faced where I live.

Unless things change, I'm not sure everything can be hand-crafted.  Then again, if the world changes back, something like houseplants won't be a thing.  People will be too busy just trying to live.  There simply won't be resources for such luxuries.  Having to bring in water for everything, house plants just won't make that extra work cutoff.  We do live in a time of luxury, know it or not.  Even the middle class and poor.

Actually, I honestly wonder if making the poor fat isn't part of the means of getting rid of them.  Any group who is socially and economically led to being fat, and yes... they are... are being targeted.  The ones who seem to escape that, however, are worse of.  Often drug dependent, often in several ways... both pain killers and steroids... they will be in ever worse shape when those things simply aren't available.

Just some strange thoughts.  I went to wash the dishes, but the water was just too cold.  Even with the cave warmed well, I am not warm, inside.  So I reset the water and will give it a shot in an hour or so.  I'll watch another show, drink some tea, and... just... think.  Later.

Tonight?

.
.
I don't know quite yet.  I do have some ideas.  The same old ideas for the last few days.  I have turned the furnace up with some hope I can get to work.  Sometimes the heat helps get started, sometimes it simply allows me to work longer.  Sometimes, of course, it short circuits everything.  Knowing which is has the greatest potential, then using heat, or cold, for what is wanted is a bit of an art.  There is some science to it, but... science is actually an art, no matter what they try to say.  Tonight, I think, heat will help me start and keep me in it.  Though, at some point, cutting the heat back a bit will then help keep going further, if there is potential for more work.

Dishes are the first thing on the list.  There aren't many, but they are rather nasty.  I figure I can kick out a load, reset it all, do it again, rinse, then dry... all yet tonight.  Not a huge number of dishes, but as noted, they are nasty.  During the changes between washings, I will grab hot soapy water for cleaning the stove and counters.  I am hoping I can get all of that done tonight.  As well, I would like to clear and clean the table and the freezer top.  One last thing is that I would like to bring the other freezer around and put it back in operation.  Soon I will clear the main freezer in the kitchen, putting that into the smaller one, then letting it warm, cleaning it, and getting it ready for the next animal.  Hog?  Wait, I think I have lost track of that.  Gah.  I'll get to it.  Hmm... a check, in advance?  Cash?  I'll wait until I have cash, and set it aside for when I place the order.  That'll make sure.  I can always afford, easily, the hog or the butchering, it's the combo that can be tight.

I have fed the worms.  Since I was sleeping so long, I fed them six cubes.  They are eating very heavily.  I may need to set up another five gallon bucket until the 18 gallon buckets arrive, to spread the worms out, check to make sure the soil isn't getting to wet, and to keep stress at a lower level.

When the sun comes up, I am hoping to plant three horseradish roots, in containers, and set up all the containers with soil for when the 'artichokes arrive.  The rhubarb is going right in the ground.  Though, for now, I may keep the planters indoors, maybe where they can get sun.  It may still be a bit too cold, maybe even frosting from time to time, to let them just stay outdoors.  But I don't think the roots will last long without planting?  Ugh... I'll give it a go.  As well, later, I will do a few bits of business.  I may need to make a trip to the post office as well.  Oh... and to fill the last of the salt and sugar jars, then vacuum seal those.  Right...  Bit by bit.

Or... not?  :p  I really don't know.  This is sort of the goal, if I can keep track and keep at it... as soon as the cave warms enough for me to start.  Tricks of the trade, if they work.  Hmm... perhaps a bite or two as well, as I warm.  Later.

Sleep and more sleep.

.
.
Naps, full sleep cycles, with just hours between those at times.  I have been asleep since something like noon, I think.  I crashed so hard at first that choice wasn't available.  Sleep became mild later on.  I could have gotten up, I just couldn't figure out why to wake.  Yes, chores, projects, food, and all... but that wasn't a draw over the exhaustion.  Or, maybe, I had a lot less choice than I thought.

I don't know what exactly is keeping me down.  The return of the cool, the dark days, maybe my health has fallen if I don't quite see it.  Maybe there isn't a single or exact reason or even reasons.  I seem to be able to push, if I can stay awake.  Maybe my body decided it didn't want to give me that opportunity.  At the moment, for the moment, sleep hasn't been as tough on my body as it can be.

I am not, actually, honestly sure I am awake now, for now.  Nor am I sure how long I will be awake if I am up for a while.  I am losing track on medicine, but simply by sleeping so long, so I don't actually count that, in one sense.  Oh, right, I'll set up an appointment with the doctor next month the next daytime I get.  I have a number of business things to attend as well.  Ugh.

Later.

Actually, I may have lied.

If I get to half of the indoor and outdoor projects yet this month, I may order components for the kitchen sink.  I have pvc glue, and most other things.  I just need a few specifics.  More, I have been looking over several options.  What I have tried before has not worked.  Still, I am considering the traditional, though also several other options, with enough kit for, possibly, up to three drain configurations.  This month?  Maybe.  Possibly.

Why the sink is such a problem I can't quite tell.  It really should be plug and play.  The options I am considering take care of some of the problems, simply eliminating as many joints.  Though not all can be eliminated.  As well, moving the components around, putting them all on the drain-connect side, might help.  There are a few other things as well.  I am more than a bit frustrated with that drain.  If I can get it in, dry, and well assembled, I will probably add supports in an attempt to stabilize it.  I am beginning to think it is being physically sabotaged though... or has been in the past, not sure what can work against that... if I think, perhaps, some of that has stopped?  Nah, they are still getting in.  Found broken glass from something in the basement where it had never been (and I had swept the basement last summer), and my beer keeps coming up short... they are still getting in.

Anyway... more and more and more.  I'll keep at it.  Later.

Rough, hard, dark.

.
.
I am making progress, in general.  I have the parts to build two or three compartments for composting, I have several sorts of soils for various projects, I either have or am about to receive starters for asparagus, jerusalem artichoke, rhubarb, and horseradish, including larger containers for some of them.  I now have a few starter house plants and herb seeds, plus smaller indoor planters for those.  As well I think I will be in a place where purchasing a lawn tractor this summer might be in order for next month.

I have dug a good plot and several places for raspberry shoots.  I am cleaning the cave, bit by blood bit it seems... but solidly moving ahead.  Medicine is well back on track for over a month, and nearing two if that first month was shaky.  In a week I will be going back up to as high of a level of medication I will take.  A worm farm has been managed, and the process of keeping them fed has been developed and is working.

As well, other projects are under consideration, such as a flower bed up front, cleaning and replacing roof gutters, with an eventual water storage system in mind, square foot raised plots for possibly later this year, or next, and who knows what else.  Really, not bad.  It is just that, right now, I am hitting a wall.  I am still doing bits and pieces.  Which is fine.  I just... that jump out of the gates... I'm not maintaining that speed.

I hope to finish up the dishes, and clean the stove and oven, plus some or all of the counters in the kitchen.  If I have more, then clearing the table top and sorting the storage areas so as to keep the kitchen table clear and clean this time.  Then to sweep and mop the floors and under the sink, as well as begin cleaning the main bedroom.  Somewhere in there will be a cut-off for today, and probably tomorrow, and so on.  This is just the work process for the near future.  How much on any day is in strong doubt.

Well, but that isn't all.  I also wish to plant at least a couple of the horseradish roots, and the 'artichokes'.  The rhubarb have to wait until they arrive.  As well, I want to cut out more of the sod around where the raspberries will go.  As well as clear anything in either area that has started growing, put down cardboard, and then plastic over even that to keep weeks and anything else out as well.  Yeah... lots of work, in and out.  All good though.  I... got it right the other day...  Not just this, my world is on fire.  So is yours.  Head on swivel, on top of time to get busy.

I just hate that I am having to force my way through, work to even begin to work, struggle... just to get started and keep going.  It was so easy there for a bit.  Whatever.  I'll keep at it as I may.  Good day.

Didn't get to anything.

.
.
Further, I am about to take a nap.  I have been heading toward a nap for the last two hours.  Odd that I can't even nap when I get too tired.

Something is up with Sam.  She didn't attack me, but she did just... fall off my lap and end up clawing me.  I don't know if that was on purpose or if she is tired in the same way I am.  Sassy doesn't get that way, but she is young.  Though, as I said, I don't know if Sam does that on purpose or simply loses her faculties, tumbles, and then attempts to grab onto to something, anything.  She ripped me up pretty good.

Later.

When to bed?

.
.
No clue.  I am pretty sure it was after 14:00.  By an quarter or half hour or by one to three hours I cannot say.  So somewhere between 14:30 and 17:00?  Uhm, shave an hour off the top side, and that is more like the range.  I was shot, done, finished before I went to bed.  Lately, even with just a few tasks, projects, and chores I am ending up melting into bed and to sleep.

I hung the pothos, one jade, one golden, before going to bed.  I left the curtains open for them for the last of the light.  Other than that and putting away groceries and components, I pretty much started to collapse into a heap while roughly heading to the bedroom.  Then I slept as well as I can comfortably, maybe a bit too hard.  I slept just about the right amount of time to a few hours over.  Given the givens, that is as good as I can do.

A bit stiff at waking, and sore in strange ways.  The 3'x3' (compressed into smaller) bags of peat moss seemed heavy.  I must really be in a weakened state.  It's not as if they are merely a gallon of milk, but they aren't a hundred pounds, are they?  Hmm... found a calculator... if it's dry it's ~80 pounds, if moist ~150 pounds.  I'm saying it's closer to moist.  So... okay.  I do feel better, a bit better.  Still, that shouldn't have been all that much.  I'm just not at my peak performance.  Seriously, simple tasks are chewing me up.

I hope, after waking, to hit the dishes.  Then between cycles use a dishpan of soapy water to begin cleaning the stove and counters.  It will take several hits to get it right.  Then I'll figure out how to clean the oven compartment.  After that, I'll work up the lettuce and have a salad, while cleaning out the fridge.  It's most just a few things to clear out, a few things perhaps for compost, and such.  Though, to be honest, as fast as the worms are eating I will be using a lot of my compost for their food for a bit, until I get a handle on things.  Not a bad gig though.  They are composters just as well as any other system.  If they keep the stink better contained, they might be a far superior way to go.

First, though, I need to wake.  I left a few windows open, to let the place air out a bit.  Cleaning will help in the longer run, but I needed a bit of relief now.  Later.

Much of it.

.
.
After a shower, dishes were gathered and set to a soak.  I added more food for the worms.  They are eating that matter very quickly.  It will be difficult to keep up with them, to be honest.

First to the post office.  I think, other than bins for the worms and a couple of starters, what I have ordered and bought is here.  No more the rest of the month.  Groceries, from time to time, if even that will be light.  I did set up automatic payments in advance of buying the lawn tractor next month.  More business to do, but not today.  I am finished.

I can't focus well.  Rereading lists doesn't help.  I am simply not in shape to think.  I can do some things though.  I purchased what I needed for a compost center, or most of it.  Several 'bales' of peat moss, a bit more mulch, smaller branch trimmers, and a few assorted odds and ends.  As well, I priced a few things I am interested in purchasing.  What of those things I end up buying I will buy locally.  Oh, and I finally purchased a couple of indoor hanging plants.  They are large enough that I can probably take trimmings from them and restart those elsewhere.

After, I went grocery shopping.  Just enough, I hope.  Mostly greens, with milk and a few odds and ends.  Getting gas on the way out of town was the last chore.  I was spent but the tank was low.  I sort of limped home.  Not bad.  I am not sure, as I said, if I missed anything on the list.  I probably did.  Though I hit both shopping lists and a few more things.  I am done, though, today.  Perhaps for several days.

Good day, and night.

Alone?

.
.
I am having trouble getting going after the wonderful start.  I did cook the remaining kale and cauliflower.  Steaming really does that well.  I will be seeking over vegetables to steam.  It's a really easy way to cook, and keeps the good stuff in with just a bit of an eye and a timer.  Broccoli, artichokes, though mostly in the green stuff, and asparagus.  I do love asparagus.

I watched a show about men doing time in one of the maximum prisons.  I would guess I fairly high number of those men could be termed psychotic.  Though whether that is real or contrived I have my doubts.  Further, even if it were to be true, by their own measure, most with that condition are not criminal... which... given the givens seems unlikely.

The thing is, even if they have issues, many of the men there learn to not like being alone.  Funny thing, to me, is they receive more contact per day that I have for most of my illness save when I was in a hospital or living with someone, which was a vast minority of the time.  Even in there, they have vents by which they may speak with one to three other inmates, plus having all of their meals delivered, a daily visit by their cell manager, and any other event access they might have earned, such as group work a few times a week.

Not that I would trade, mind you.  When I am doing well I can go anywhere.  If I want to go at midnight, because that is when I can go, and if it is available, so be it.  Just, I don't... think most people understand.  Oh, it took some significant time to adjust.  I also can talk the ear off almost any creature, man or otherwise.  Although, with the girls around, I have... possibly... become slightly less needy that way?  Nah.  Or... if so... that would be a relative, not objective, statement.

Truth is we are all alone, most of the time.  What we give up to make it seem otherwise, what we tell ourselves?  Even right there, with another, or many?  Sometimes that seems worse, as it has reminded me of just how alone I truly am.  Though, with the right ones, and mostly, rare as they are?  I can be happy enough.  If, too, I have learned to fly alone.  Mostly.

I am hoping to push on through, get a shower, set some dishes to soak, get out, and... something.  I'm not thinking all that well.  More a lack of focus.  Life isn't bad, this morning, merely a bit mushy on the stick.  Flight controls just won't turn this bird over... like flying a rock with a jet.  Oh well, I think I'll get what I want done, just not quickly.  Good day.

Take what you can.

.
.
I've been moving a little bit better than anticipated.  I finished the dishes, fed the cats, checked on and fed the worms again, plus just... a number of other projects and assortments of chores.  I finished one of the planting themed books, I think the one on composting.  There were a few areas I skimmed, in both books.  Any cheerleading sort of sections, or if I had a good grasp of the basics for the topic... or wouldn't be using that portion.  Though I did read the humanure section, more... as a lark, if too as a... hmm... deep dark secret should the world turn to... humanure.  :p  I am not sure how much I have left in the other book.

So, yeah, it's going.  I still feel like... just regular manure.  And, yet, I can do so am doing.  I hope to get a shower in shortly, pick up an absolute last bits of dirty dishes and do those (should be easy, and one shot), have a salad with this and that in it, clean the stove top and adjacent counters (at least), put the sprouts up (I went looking for how to store sprouts, video to follow), and cook the rest of the kale and cauliflower.  I am out of cabbage.  I probably won't shop for more until the end of the week though.  I wonder if you can cook sprouts?  Probably not at all necessary though.

Oh, did I mention?  I eat kale stem to leaf, whole, without any issues.  There might be some bloat going on.  I'll work on that.  Though which vegetable is cause that is unknown.  It could be any of them, all of them, some of them, or simply the volume.  I will figure it out.  Perhaps I will get used to it, too.  I have an amazing anatomy.  If I can figure the problem, sometimes... often... my body will then create a solution without forcing me to give things up.  Yeah, it... really is that way.

Now, all that plus my plans for getting out?  I think so.  I do.  If I can get it all, but need a rest tomorrow or more, I'm okay with that.  Though, maybe, things are coming back around.  Later.

A few short updates.

.
.
Feeding.  Sassy is coming around.  She is still quite skittish about the water fountain.  I am still sitting in there, while they eat.  Though something that is becoming a bit of a problem now is that Sam has decided she doesn't like Sassy in there.  I'll stay in there with them until that is resolved, or enough.  Something I do is to tease Sassy while she is eating.  His, make a thump.  Reverse psychology as to her fears.  I realized, long ago, with her, that works.  Oddly it isn't a cat-wide technique.  It does not work with Sam.  If I cause her nervousness to some point she just quits and walks off.  At least Sam has no difficulty with the pump in the water bowl.  Actually I had thought that the problem would be from Sam, or both.  Cat's will throw you sometimes.

Next I checked the food in the worm bin.  Gone.  There was a good cup, cup and an half, and it is mostly gone.  Two cubes of stuff just won't be enough.  I am going with three cubes.  I am not sure that is enough.  Then again it is a thousand worms.  That... well... it's a lot of critters.  Beside compost vegetables, something else has been suggested for their feed... old grains.  I think I have some too.  Thing is, I am not sure I have anything that would powder them?  Hmm... wait, I do have the grain mill.  I could see if that would work on a wide assortment.  For about a day, it seems, they weren't touching the food.  I was a bit nervous.  Perhaps they were still acclimating, maybe the cold snap affected them too (even indoors as they are), or maybe the perception was incorrect.

How odd how food, feeding, and all, for cats to worms to... whatever I am... can all be off, on, unbalanced, even avoided.  It is a requirement, but everything has to be just right for it to work.  I am playing with food myself, for myself, and having some odd problems.  Keto should be on, but it's not.  I just don't know.  Frustrating.  Though, after seeing both cats and worms have trouble with feed, I guess that's just a part of life, high or low.  Later.

Quite a sleep.

.
.
And, as with the other day, I meant it.  I could have waken several to even several more hours before that ago.  I attempted to sleep as long as I could.  A weakness, lethargy, or somesuch is plaguing me.  Food is good, medicine is good and I should be used to the level at this point, work has been good if not terribly overdoing things.  I am almost certain it is the chill that dropped on us that has fixed things to the bad.  It's not that it is too cold, it's just a bit of a system shock.

As soon as I woke, I reset the dishes to a fresh hot soak.  I did wash the processor parts, dried them, and reassembled them, but did not more.  In an hour or so, right after feeding the girls, I will do some of the dishes, drying as many as I can.  Who knows, I might get to all of them.  If not, I will reset to a hot soak, take a break, and finish them after the break.

I only have a few goals.  First to finish the dishes.  Then to get a shower, perhaps a bath later.  Finally to get out, if that part is more complicated.  Picking up packages from the post office, going to town to do some shopping, maybe several sorts in several places, but the main goal is the compost center components, and then maybe a few other hardware, possibly some indoor plants, and a few groceries... if all that is on my mind is finished.

Other than getting the shopping supplies home and up, I won't worry about more.  Sure, if I still have loads of energy, beginning the compost center would be fine.  If that is too much, doing a bit of cooking might be pleasant.  Barring an interest in that, maybe a bit of cleaning in the kitchen.  A combination of those last two would be better, if I was going either way.  Or, maybe, just going into the main bedroom and picking through this and that, to say I have started.  Maybe some combination, or nothing at all.  I don't care, as long as I fulfill the vital to me last paragraph.  Oh, and paying my mortgage!  Ugh.  I tried online but that was as stupidly failing as most other of this companies methods.  No.  I will call in and just have to pay the fee.  What a lousy company.

I am getting things set back up.  I should be in good shape for more things to come.  For now, there is this.  Good... morning, sort of, almost.  I'm working on that too.

Monday, April 10, 2017

The plans just aren't going to work.

.
.
I do parts and bits, then hit a roadblock.  I am hoping to finish cleaning the food processor parts, then reset the dishes to a hot soak, drying some of them but not all of them before going to bed.  If I can just do enough, half maybe, then I can finish the rest tonight so as to get a shower in, then get to the post office and maybe town tomorrow.  It's just rough.

Thankfully I am still doing some jobs and chores.  The cats are being fed, the worms are being checked from time to time, I am eating and taking medicine.  Which, all told, is actually excellent, more so for a down time.  It is just that I can't get as much as I would like, and I feel somewhat awful.  I will keep at it.

I checked ketosis this morning.  I have fallen to the lowest level.  Which doesn't make sense.  The only thing that might be causing the problem is sucra drops.  I just don't know about that.  Actually I haven't checked it as to blood sugar either.  Liquids seems to do better, but you never know.  I've been... hitting it heavily, compared to my norm, but...  It could be.  Or my body is just being fussy.  For medicine supposedly being an exact science it is anything but.

I'll keep at it.  I'll hit the dishes, set the rinsing dishes to soak, take a break, then try to get half the rinsing dishes dried, and stay awake until noon.  I'd love to sleep now.  Not sure I will make noon.  Messy.  I'll keep at... whatever.  Good morning, day, and night most likely.

Getting to it is difficult.

.
.
What, exactly, is wrong is not easy to tell.  Any of the list, though my guess is the change in weather is leading the pack.  At least I have food, and of the keto sort, on tap.  While I don't like cooking with the microwave, I have no problems heating up already cooked food.  I haven't had a salad yet, but that's next.  I already had a few slices of beef, so I'll skip adding that, especially since I will be adding a couple of eggs and maybe some cheese.

I finally found the ice cube trays and sorted out the processed worm food.  The two trays are in the freezer, if just.  The food processor is even soaking for a quick scrub, along with a few other items.  Those will be a wash, rinse, dry (sort of), and done thing.  Then I really need to set the big tub of dishes to a hot rinse and dry so as to get a shower in, with the hopes of making it to the hardware store today.

I did check, but I can't really tell if the worms are working on the food I gave them.  It is a cool night, though even back where they are it is well within their range of survival, even comfort.  I will check on it from time to time each day.  The hope is to get a better idea of how much they need, when they need it... or more likely if that is a variable then to learn to gauge when they need food and go by their needs, or even wants.  I ground up the last batch of eggshells, and put it in with the rest.  Some suggest that people can add eggshells to food.  While that might be reasonable, or not, the problem I would have would be with dosing... and the crunch.

Bit by bit I am getting some things done.  Even if I am having to crawl to do it.  More mail was sorted through and shredded.  I should have a decent topping layer or three now.  I have a lot more mail to work.  Little piles, here and there, much of it was never gone through.  I'll... get to it.  Outside, while working on the compost center, I would like to remove more grass from where I plan to plant the raspberries.  Completely remove the sod for a foot, or two, in the area.  Then cover it all over, again, with plastic.  Though I may add cardboard too.  It will be later this month, or early next, before I plant there.  As much to allow the cardboard and plastic to help kill off anything there as to make sure the suckers don't get frost damaged.

As well?  I might dig up more of the area near where I double dug the 3'x10' plot.  That whole area, which is... 20'~25'x10'~12' could be dug.  For now, though, I would like to just do a couple 4'x4' plots, to get an idea of the space involved.  I am thinking, perhaps, to attempt several types of herbs and garlic.  I don't know how much will grow there, or such.  And I might start by planting seeds indoors, transplanting what makes it?  My birth mother, when I visited, would do that.  Then bring in some things, in pots, for the winter.  She lives in Wyoming, so... close enough.  I probably have a better growing season and milder winter here than there too.

Anyway... I'll keep at it, as I may.  I'm thinking a salad... romaine, alfalfa sprouts, a couple of eggs, and homemade (mostly) ranch dressing.  That should work.  If I get out, I might buy more kale, cabbage, and add a few other things for salad or steaming such as artichokes, radishes, daikon radishes, and a few other less sugary salad makings.  I can have those once in a while, and do.  I am usually gifted that, and better than what I could obtain, so on my own I go a little lighter.

Later.

Small things.

.
.
Some efforts are still incomplete, others have been rightly finished.

I am not sure which was the beginning.  Eggs were set to softboil.  Worm food makings were gathered and the food processor was arranged.  I used both the slicer blade on top and the chopper below.  Hmm, I... think I had the wrong side up.  That is for cheese.  If I flip it, there is a slicer, more for the likes of potatoes and carrots... and some of the harder roots or cores as I was working with.  Live and learn.

After getting the chopping done well enough, I took in the batch, adding about a cup in to the worm.  I'll keep an eye on that over the next few days.  As is I will feed in a quarter section of the round, doing that as soon as one group of food seems to be mostly gone.  I don't want to starve them, or overfeed them.  If I get some bins shortly, I'd like four (at least) so as to make two complete systems, I will split out some in each system... in part to experiment, in part for security, in case one batch goes bad for some, any, or no good, reason.  I hope to do that soon, just in case.  I have been, unsuccessfully, searching for the ice cube trays... to freeze cubes of the food.  After frozen, I'll put them in a gallon bag.  So... not quite done, but the worms are fed so that's a good thing.

After that, and a bit, the eggs were done.  Actually, just as I was, mostly, finishing the worm food and feeding, the alarm let me know the eggs were done.  I put them in for a cool down, then went back in search of the ice cube trays.  Annoying when things can't be found... it's not like it's just one.  I think I have eight or ten of them.  Even stacked they should be highly visible.  Bleh.  I finally gave up and watched a part of a movie.

After the eggs cooled, I peeled them, reserving the shells.  This time they peeled perfectly.  I did two dozen, as I will be adding them to salads as well.  Next time I might even do an extra dozen, to play with deviled egg recipes... if I can produce homemade mayo.  Or I may just do an extra dozen soon, just... because, while the may is fresh, if I can indeed make it.  I consumed three of them still a bit warm and fresh.  I did them just right.  The rest were put in an airtight container and refrigerated.  Yeah... I've forgotten to do that before.

Actually, there are several things I can't seem to find.  One of my plastic wash basins, the ice cube trays, and... another thing or three.  I am not in shape to go double digging for hours, either.  I can do bits for a while, just not much for long.  If all else fails, I will purchase a few tomorrow.  I know, but it is what it is.  Tomorrow?  Your tomorrow, my evening... in the morning...  :p

I have done another set of groups of things as well.  Including 'baking' the eggshells.  Technically I don't need more, for the worms.  But with making two new bins, I do.  After that, I will continues to save, bake, and grind eggshells, but for the compost heap.  It's a bit of a game.  No doubt.  But it's fun, and if it actually pays off?  Cool.  If not?  How much am I really out?  If nothing else, it really feels as if I am actually conserving... not the faux government or big biz type of manufactured green for no real good sort of thing, or social or political false chest pounding.  It may all end up a failure, but it will either end up helping me eat or it will simply fail and go away.  It won't be kept, in spite of failure, as some sort of socialized conditioning or false accordance with men for man's laws and wants but without fruit.  Hmm?  Yeah.  Gosh though, have to remember not to toss paper products, and fruit cores.  Though some things will be tossed, like orange, lemon, citrus in general peels, and maybe potato peels if I ever do peel those.  Some things I just don't wish to mess with to that level... not yet, or now.

I do hope to do a bit more work, but I am still a bit down.  Weather, perhaps.  Though there are a host of potential problems, most likely working together.  A few things at a time though, is fine.  I'll take it.  Later.

Snow.

.
.
Yesterday morning, so as, when the sun was struggling to shine Sunday morning the white was clear as a dreary day.  Though clear as and then some, as white fresh clean snow can take little sun and make it new.  Much of it seems gone, though not all.  Too early to plant for certain.  No worries.  The starters will last a bit.

I was unable to work "yesterday".  I did cook several meats, if one portion, that of chops, was eaten.  As well I cooked vegetables.  Some of that was eaten, some was stored, perhaps three or four meals worth if I go shy.  Having salad helps.  I am thinking of using bits of meat, plus the sprouts I finished off today, in with some salad.  I wish I had gotten eggs.  Hmm... I may just start with those right away.  Having a few fresh warm softish boiled eggs for an easy start, then, after they have cooled, one or two diced into the beef salad?  Sounds good.  While I am doing the eggs, I will set up a new batch of ranch dressing.  The old one is, well, old.  It is edible, just... not.

I didn't get to dishes, or more on the kitchen, or bedroom.  I just couldn't.  I still can't, not really.  Perhaps food will help.  Though, maybe, with the weather having moved in, my machine became bound up?  I may simply need more rest.

One minor project, while doing the eggs, is to blend, either in a blender or food processor, the leftovers I have been reserving for the worms.  Some of that will go in right tonight, the rest will be frozen into cubes for occasional feeding.  I have no idea how much they will eat, but... I'm going with a cup of mush to start.  How will I know?  I... don't know.  It will take time to know.  I suppose I will watch for how long the matter remains on the surface... it'll be a guessing game, even if I get my hands dirty from time to time.

Medicine has been doing quite well.  Which actually might be a part of it.  One more week and I jump the dose to full dose.  I am betting my potassium is as good as medicine will get it, at this dose.  If it is, still, somehow, low, the dose might have to be doubled.  But that needs to be checked more often if that is the case.  Being rightly on medicine again, I won't have as much of a problem going back in for a quick blood check now and again, probably without needing to see the doc.  Ugh.

Oh, I might try to make mayonnaise.  I have fresh lemon, fresh eggs, fresh oil, a mustard that might help.  Making mayo is slick, and just works sometimes.  Sometimes it just doesn't work.  I am going to try, and if it fails I will attempt to fix it, maybe even several times.  Gah!  But I do enjoy fresh mayo.  And, with the meats?  Mix it with horseradish, as a spread.  Not bad for cold cuts either, or simple hamburgers, with or instead of ketchup.

I've been up for a bit.  I just didn't see to right, sluggish.  The weather, medicine, having worn myself out well and solidly, all combined to just slow my world down.  All good, so long as I keep up on the vitals.

Tomorrow?  To the post office.  I have a number of things in.  Then to town, for the compost center materials, perhaps storage bins for worm farming, and a few other items and products.  I don't know if I will have the energy or other needed parts or aspects to begin on the compost center, though I have hope of it.  That won't be a major task, however, whenever I get to it.  Still, I want it up sooner rather than later.

I don't remember.

.
.
Funny, when I push a bit too far, how... things stir.  I have no idea what they mean while I am in this zone, or maybe ever depending on the when and which, only that they are real, and true, if decidedly needing interpretation.  Or not?  I just... don't know.

Quite good.

.

I eat the heart of the cabbage during prep.  I think one either loves or hates that.  I have wondered about attempting to pickle those... or... something.  I'm not sure a literal pickling would be favored, not by me.  But, something... a mild pickling combined with an olive oil bath?  I'll look into preparations for that.  More so when I eventually get to making homemade sauerkraut and am working with many cabbages at once.  As I begin to work with cauliflower, I like to reserve a quarter of each head for raw.  Whether to eat it straight, without condiments or salt, to salt it, or to have it with salad dressing or in a salad, a bit of raw is simply a good thing.

As to kale?  I tried it with butter, salt, and pepper.  And, while that is okay, I remembered, when young, eating heavier greens with vinegar, and then perhaps salt and pepper or not.  I have plenty of white vinegar, white and red wine vinegar, champagne vinegar, I think or often, and apple cider vinegar.  I went with apple cider vinegar, along with salt.  Quite nice, really.  Salt isn't so needed, though I was hungry for it, so added it.

I made enough to put these up for the next few days.  The dishes should be about ready to tend.  I think I will push to get all of the counters washed and cleared, and table as well.  After which I hope to cook several meats and boil eggs.  I am still a bit worn.  I've been doing too much without the real energy needed, in darker weather, and still catching up on medicines.  The food reserves might help get more done.
