Dinner.

.
.
Finally.  It just took much longer to cook than I had thought.  Having sliced the rutabaga, and broken the cauliflower down, I thought an half hour would do.  No?  An hour then, surely?  Nope.  Two hours.  And, really, closing on three, to get it edibly soft.  And I like a bit of bite in my veggies, so this wasn't taking them to even soft.  Just softened.

I won't complain.  The meal was very good.  I finished off the roast.  There is juice and veggies remaining.  I'll put that back in the bowl, cover it, and doing something with it tomorrow.  I am quite pleased with it.  I might grab another chuck roast, stick it in, add more cauliflower, tomorrow?  Maybe.  I was quite happy with that, and I'm not strictly a pot roast sort of guy.  It was the searing, and then watching the cooking closely.  Plus the right veggies.

A new brew?

.
.
Not really a brew.  A bit more beef froth, half of one of the cauliflower heads broken down to somewhat larger bites, and the rutabaga sliced as apples... and sampled.  Turnips are good, fresh.  Rutabaga are just a bit sweeter.  One is closer to a neutral potato taste, without that dusty flavor.  The other is closer to an apple, just not quite as sweet.  Even with a bit of that crunch I miss.

Set to go, on high, in the crockpot, with the liquid from the previous 'brew' cooking poured in as well.  I'm giving it two hours.  Then will test. If things seem reasonable, I'll add the meat and any other veggies back into the pool.  I am hoping that the cauliflower will make a solid potato replacement.  Cauliflower can be a bit solid, in my gut.  But I have been mostly eating it raw, or just slightly cooked.... blanched really.  I'd like to see what a longer cook time will do.  Mash and butter, have with beef, or pork, or else.

A few things.

.
.
The dishwasher finished.  Got everything put up and/or away.  Some things didn't have a place, so I created one, if mobile.  A box was found, a small one, for the lid bands on my canning jars.  Most of which are being used for drinking coffee or tea, making kefir, and in time making sauerkraut.  I'd like to experiment with small batches.  Still, I want to keep the bands.  The popper lids not so much.  Those things, from shipping, usually don't work.  I have fresh ones of those, of both the metal and "reusable" plastics.  Those don't have a good reputation.  Still... I... have lids.  So keeping the bands would be good, in a pinch.

As well, I got to the line.  The sheet was dry, not so much the duvet.  Which is fine.  It has pockets of down, so will take a bit.  Hmm, when I finish this I will give the laundry a final spin, see about any dishes left to finish rinsing, see about folding some clothes.  That should be it for a bit.  Then return to gaming.

Seen in a whole new light.

.
.
I've posted this before.  Saw it posted today.

But, then, realized?  Pronouns.  They were laughing about it back when.

Still going.

.
.
I reset the dishes I want to hand wash, and some others that if I can improve enough I'll put into the dishwasher as a final load sometime yet tonight.  I put another load of laundry in to wash, while the first load dries.  As well, I am working on another pot, that I burned food in.  Beans, I think, a long time ago.  I've been softening it up every once in a while.  I did another pan I burned beans in, though just earlier tonight, with the brat.  Some of the beans were good, anyway.

As well, I had a few jackets, which have been washed and were airdrying (for... a while).  I nose checked those.  Good.  Can go stale, especially in my home.  Working on that.  But good, so I hung them on the better covered rack.  Bits and pieces of other things.  Dishes are... taking their time.  The ice machine ran out of water, so I filled it and it's still going?  I should check.  Two loads of ice into the first ice bucket.  Could take another load, load and a half?  Will see.

Rough?

.
.
Slight aches and pains.  Lost control of sleep.  Can't eat much.  But, I suppose, not truly rough.  Just... not in control, not moving forward, not getting things done, and not able to switch gears, rock it back and forth from drive to reverse to escape the ruts, stuck.  Not a bad place to be, just... the doldrums.

When it gets like this, I just have to wait it out.  Coffee, fatted coffee, shortly.  It isn't helping, but it does add calories, and calories of a sort I can use, handle to take in.  The caffeine, at this point in my health or wellness cycle, might as well be water.  Still, I'll... take it.

Rough.

.
.
I did get the miter saw back on the stand, after getting the under parts tightened.  Then tightening the connections from the saw to that.  Tight enough that I can wheel it around without it falling off.  That was harsh.  I kept looking for the handles, hoping I would find them somewhere.  Nope, they really just aren't here.  I did put the stopper bar in, and angled it sideways, so the weight, center of mass, were more balanced.

Then on to watching a movie.  The new Nosferatu.  I like the new television, and soundbar.  It is good to be able to hear the voices, even on a lower volume.  But it sure booms.  The bass, rear speakers, and the bar, plus the tv since they are the same brand so it adds in the televisions speakers to it really is surround.

Well?

.
.
Laundry was started.  Some of the steak eaten.  Sassy was fed.  And I did get the saw on the stand, but realized there were other parts.  Problem?  The parts were for handles... handles that didn't arrive in the packaging.  So... I called.  Surprised they answered.

After figuring out their system, so I didn't have to talk to a "computer", I got to where they would call me back, without losing my place?  Or, the wait was a minute.  So, I went with the call back option.  No... just... no.  They wanted me to put in a time for them to call me back.  So I put in a half hour.  Nope.  They wouldn't call back until midafternoon, 14:30, or somesuch?  NO!

Down very late, up very early.

.
.
Well, considering when I went to bed, the wakeup time was very early.  Down at right around four, up at nine.  A bit before, in both cases, but close enough.  In part because I though I had seen something was to be in today.  Well... it said tomorrow, but... isn't today tomorrow?  Apparently not!

Tomorrow, in this case, means the next tomorrow, or... tomorrow today.  I must have looked after midnight, without taking the new day into account.  So... fine.  I am up.  And, perhaps, can figure out how to get back to waking earlier.  Or... not.  No... it wasn't the alarms.  I turned those off, the last few days.  I couldn't fight through them to wakefulness, so just... let it go.

Women, poetry, and holidays?

.
.
Well, and some hair-raising terminology?  Maybe.  Maybe.

When... I accident upon a fine telling of an interesting story?  I share.

Slowly.

.
.
I had hoped to do some gaming, feed Sassy, trim my whiskers, and to have been on to bed hours ago.  By four hours ago, or so?  I... just couldn't.  I kept Sassy fed, ate myself and had tea.  Gamed a bit.  Finally got a shower in.  It was all just taking so very long just to attempt to get things done.  Ugh.

Blood sugar, this 'morning', was 140.  Which is a very nice 38 point drop, from yesterday 'morning'.  And, after steak and veggies, then tea, and a few hours, blood sugar is... 119?  That is... 62 points better than my later reading yesterday.  Well, okay.  I guess I really do need to eat, and mostly carnivore.

Awake and fairly better again.

.
.
Improvement is very limited, if improvement is compounding over days.  Just another three quarters of a liter out last night, so I slept fairly well, warmly, and with fresh air.  Not sure if that really helps, but I think so.  That may be what is causing continued improvements?  Though it seems to be warmer out there?

Yes.  The thermometer reads 30, several do.  But, it isn't frozen.  It feels more like a... soft 40.  Water is dripping, from rain.  Foggy.  Very low visibility, here at ground level... perhaps two miles?  Though it may close and open as time goes on.  There is something delicious about fog, rain, this sort of temperature oddity, and such.  As... long as I don't have to drive in it.

She certainly is chirping.

.
.
Fairly loudly for such a petite little thing.

Wow.  Okay.  Nice.

More things.

.
.
Laundry switched over, given a spin.  Fresh put in.  More to do, soon.  A shower taken, as well.  And dressed, more warmly, if still cold.  I'll try to get more done yet today.  Would like to finish washing blankets in the next few days.

I took a peak outdoors.  It is ten F, so, yes, okay, cold.  It settles in, and around.  Even with the furnace up, it just doesn't warm.

If you dive?

.
.
Dive deep.  Tea.  I have been drinking tea for years.  Slowly, over time, I have compared and contrasted this and that tea.  I have learned bits, and portions, and notions, and such, but only in parts.  Never a full course on the topic.  Why not?  Because it was... annoying.  I just... wanted tea.  I didn't what to have to think about it.

Finally, though, as I realize better teas are actually worth a bit more money?  But not all?  And then, at some point, tastes, preferences, come into play?  Well... rather than buy $40 of even a few ounces of good tea, but of a sort I didn't like?  I... wanted to look at grade, type, more information to allow me a better chance at choosing a tea I like, at various price points.

To understand.

.
.
A dream.  Oh, I... know.  At once, I thought He did as He did to spare life.

It wasn't true.  He was sparing souls.  Many.  The life was just an extra.  Maybe even the point of salvation.  But it... wasn't the goal, just the means?

Food.

.
.
Very good.  Was so hungry.  I did eat yesterday, but not much for a while before.  Oh, and I pretty much ate the steak whole.  Remember, these aren't small.  These are inch and a half steaks.  Steaks, usually, I eat over three to four days.  So I was very hungry.

Chicken arrived.  I ate three, thighs as it turned out.  The store was out of drumsticks.  All good.  Thighs are preferred, to be honest.

Even guys?

.
.
Oh, I... recognized some things.  Or... saw what others were seeing, saying.  So I... went there.  Mostly chicks, I thought.  Guys, too, it seems.

Now I'm wondering.  Pretty sure even the guys seem to think so?

Pudding?

Proof.

Awake.

.
.
Woke just after noonthirty.  Not feeling great, but not as bad as it has been.  The aches and pains are back, but lightly.  The toe knuckle isn't screaming, isn't even swollen?  The skin on the feet still burn, if more gently.  Hobbling about is doable, mostly.  And without agony, just slight suffering.

Exhausted, if not sleepy.  A form of being tired that simply means I don't have much energy, focus, or access to memory all that well, and yet can't really sleep.
