Done, almost.

.
.
Work done.  Pretty hot there, too hot.  Going to have to sort something out.  Still, I got the tasks completed.  Then, home, and watering the lawn.  One more round of that, and I'll be done with the outside and all actual work.  I am planning to do more flashcards.  All of them?  I can hope.  Not sure I can push on through, but it's a goal.  I will do some of them.  Though probably not the exceptions and such.  If I finish the standard characters tonight, I can at least get started on the odd ones tomorrow.

Rather tired, overheated, and a bit pinched.  But, tomorrow is a day off.  Perhaps a shower, and a shave.  Chores because chores are every day.  I just called family, so no calls tomorrow.  I may call mother on Wednesday, to see about surgery... if I remember.  If all worked out, she will be going in on Thursday.  I don't want to become a pest, so try to keep calls to every other week or so.  They can't miss me if I don't go away!  And, if they want to talk more frequently, assuming they can catch me, all good.  Doing pretty good with family, lately.

My muscles are... getting bigger.  Just a bit, half an hour to hour of actual work, of some sort, five to six days a week, is improving strength.  Endurance is still trash, and actual strength... while better... is still rather anemic.  Better?  It's like my body becomes more solid, but without any real additional output potential?  Something like that.  My biceps and triceps have gotten bigger, much tighter.  My whole body has tightened.  But it doesn't seem to be functionally any stronger, or be able to last any longer.  Bah!

Oh, and it is remaining pretty warm out there.  At 23:12, it is still 70 to 72 out there!  Ugh.  I have the cave open, fans going, to almost no good.  It isn't humid, at least.  But it IS still rather warm, hot even... 80 near the machine.  Yea, I'm going up, to study.  Or should I take a shower first?  Nah, I'll cool, while I do some study, then shower.  Dry off while finishing study.

I did find several yt vids on the slide rule.  I'll do some checking with what I have learned, and check the book again.  The thing with my slide ruler is that it has two "1"'s for C?  I think so.  I'll look again.  It may be an outrageously advanced one, or just a peculiar one.  I would like to begin practicing with it, but I have to be able to do the simple first.  Until I can do simple multiplying and dividing, I'm not going to mess with trig or general algorithms.  I do wonder what all this thing can do.  I should look into this particular slide rule, if there is anything out there on it.

Later, or more likely good night.

Studying.

.
.
Not just Japanese this time.  Nor did I complete the flash cards.  It takes some time to do each one.  Practice, of several sorts... first with a ball point pen, then a few practice writings with the ink brush.  Then to write the character, go on to several others.  And, finally, to complete the card with Romaji on the reverse, as well as a description for pronunciation, as "to" - "as in "to" from "tore", but shorter"".  Making sure the character is dry, so it doesn't smear when writing filling out the obverse.

I made it through two lessons, which is about the pace I can go, before failing.  I have two more lessons left to finish standard hiragana.  Then I have irregular hiragana, but haven't gone over that yet.  This week I will be starting that, Monday.  I may attempt flashcards for those as I go through them.  As the characters are the same, merely adding something similar to quotation marks, or a degree mark, or such, to previously learned characters... which should be all already in flashcard form, so already practiced.

After that, I tried to begin studies on the slide rule I purchased... a few years ago.  With the manual for them.  Something is wrong.  The instructions, so far, are yielding no readable, sensible, results.  I will be looking on youtube, to see what is wrong.  The book is a reprint from a book originally printed in 1942 or so, with two revisions, and this a final simple reprint in 1962.  And the slide rule is a made in America, authentic, metal slide rule.  Everything seems to check, but they aren't hooking up correctly, or I am doing something wrong... if I have tried as many options as possible.  That I can see to try.  Headache got worse with that.  Will check youtube, see if it has anything, or even the general web.  Yt seems to have crashed and burned anything useful.  Though, maybe it is hiding such somewhere.

Later.

Drifted.

.
.
Almost lost time.  Realized I was doing nothing quickly, so got to chores.  It is still right at 92.  But it is a much comfortable heat.  The hygrometer is still reading 37, inside.  But that may just be a holdover, as I think it is drying... at least outside.  It may take a day or two to clear the house.

Chores were finished.  Rabbits are looking good, and seem to be doing well.  I didn't put the bottles out, may do that later.  Next I had hoped to shower and shave, but I will hold off.  Chores took my legs out from under me.  Not terribly, just... enough.  So, instead, I'll work on flash cards.  Just until I am ready to shower and shave... a couple of hours at most?

Hmm, maybe a sandwich, before going up.  Nothing fancy, just a few slices of ham, a slice or two of cheese, mayo, and mustard.  Sometimes I go with the stone ground mustard, sometimes just the yellow stuff from when I was a kid.  Much difference?  Who really knows.

When did I go to bed?

.
.
I think it was right after midnight.  Perhaps as much as half after, but more like right after?  I think so.  I woke around 07:00, but couldn't really wake.  Just shut windows and went on back to bed.  I wanted to get up, it just wasn't going to happen.  Back to bed until about 11:00.  I've been up for a bit, fed the ducks and girls, tended their litter.  Rabbits are yet to get their food and water checked.

A headache has been plaguing me since even the 07:00 wakeup.  It was much worse then, but seems to be getting worse again.  Not sure what the problem is.  I think I overheated yesterday, and the last few days.  Some strange weather pattern came in, and just baked the cave.  It was worse outside.  I think this is a side effect of days of overheating.

Then again, life, even if exhausting from the heat and bits of work I have been doing, has been rather pain free.  I don't understand.  Perhaps the heat has been shielding from other pain?  Or there is a limit to suffering?  So, a headache isn't... all that bad.  And it seems a cooler morning.  I haven't checked the temp yet, outside.

Ah.  92?  Really?  It is only 77 in here, this front and the main room... which seems quite cool?  The clouds, I think, and little storm that was with it, seems to have moved on, taking whatever was making the weather so annoying with it.  Humidity, and clouds, gone.  It was a... strange heat and moisture bubble.  Still, that direct heat will get to me, if I stay out in it for long.

I couldn't do a lot last night, with Japanese.  But I did get started on the flash cards, for hiragana.  I am taking my time, trying to write correctly, using cursive.  I am using an ink brush and card sets with keyrings to craft professional quality cards, or as close as I can to such.  Which means I practice, several times, with a regular pen, then with the brush, to perfect the characters as well as I am able, THEN write it on the flash card stock.  I may end up doing some over again.  Or not.  I am about a third the way through.

That is taking so much time, though, that I can't do other review until it is done.  It is a form of review, just not quite as deep of one as I would like.  Still, it needs to be done.  I will be spending three more weeks on hiragana before moving to katakana.  I could just, after these cards, and the exceptions, and a review next weekend, move on.  But I want to take my time in this section.  I want hiragana to be as close to memorized before moving on.

The cards will help.  I can review them while in the middle of something else, or doing nothing.  Just flip them out, and start going through them... first one way, then the other.  Wrote memorization, regarding of how dull it might seem, is the only real way to learn the basics.  So, wrote learning it is.

I have to admit, my ability with English is far better than I thought.  From pronunciation to understanding grammar, exceptions, and such.  I learned far more English, by learning foreign languages, than I had thought.  It was the only way to fully understand the foreign language... and to separate it from English.  From participles to verb conjugations to tenses, to... every understanding necessary to transmit information in written or verbal form... to learn a foreign language well requires exceptional learning of one's primary language.  I do well.

Hmm, as to today?  Chores, of course.  A shower shortly, maybe a shave.  Frozen bottles of water out, while I feed and water the rabbits.  Maybe a bit of picking, in the soil, but later... when it is dark.  Watering the lawn, if probably just the areas which were seeded and maybe the back yard.  And the voluntary work, but also later this evening, when it cools.  No work on Sunday, I was told.  Why for, asked I?  Religious, I was told.  I concur.  So be it.  I may have to work on Sunday, but God knows why.  I have to work when I can, good or ill.  But this is different, and I grok, even appreciate, that.

I best get to chores, then get cracking again on the flash cards.  Those are sort of fun, if... they... some of the characters are tricky to get just right.  I do sweat, though I do even when just trying to write them during practice.  Is this tail higher than this intersection?  Does the "t" type crossing go up, from left to right, down, or is it flat?  Is the intersection at the mid-point, higher, lower?  Ugh.  It's... some of their letters are fascinating, beautiful perhaps, as well... difficult to replicate.  Time... practice...

Later.

A nap, as it turns.

.
.
Very good.  I was hoping to wake.  Even if just to dawdle the rest of the day.  Though, perhaps, a bit of picking in the rocky soil, a review of the Japanese lessons I have had so far, perhaps some work on flash cards... or prep for that, a shower and maybe a shave, dishes set up, and laundry?  Well, yes, no.  Some of those things.  I will only be awake a few more hours.  I don't move that fast.

I am not sure I will wake enough to do anything.  BUT!  I kept it to a nap.  Small restraint.  I don't always have it in me to do so.  And, yes, I had to push to wake.  The timing was perfect too, right at two hours, which for me is what a nap is.  Trying to do less is asking for headaches and failure, and stumbling into other failures.  Longer, and it is best I just stay down for the night... if possible.  I live at the edge of extinction, both of flesh and will.  I had set the alarm for 21:00, but more as a psychological ploy.  I was pretty sure if I slept to then, I probably wouldn't wake.  It just isn't cool enough up there.

The temp is rather warm.  Outside, storm clouds have gathered, but it is staying 82!  It is dark out there, but that doesn't change anything.  Actually, the clouds, since they are unproductive, simply heat the place, even raising the humidity... or at least hold in the heat.  Bleh.  Though, I suppose the outside is cooler than this room, and this room is somewhat shut off from the rest of the house, so I might as well open the front door.

If I can, a shower, dishes, and Japanese.  That is sort of the goal.  I sometimes get lost, sidetracked, but if it ends up being other work, I am good.  If it is just getting lost on this infernal interweb, then not so much.  But... I have already beat some of the odds stacked against me.  As mentioned, while not optimal, I'm okay with whatever ends up being done, or not.

I seem to have lost my phone, unless it was taken again.  I've sent an email, as it might be in the truck or shop even.  No response.  I have looked on the ground outside, everywhere I could remember having been recently.  I checked in places it could have been set.  So far, nothing.  But, to be honest, it might be right in front of me.  I doubt it, but you never know.

Ahha!  The phone showed up.  It was in the work truck.  It must have slipped out.

Visitors, three as it turns out.  A tike and his grandpa, plus the son with the phone.

Good thing.  The phone is required to do returns, and I have... six, seven?  Tomorrow or Monday, I suppose.  Sprinkling out there, but so very lightly.  It's more a strange feeling, a dot of cold somewhere, a few more, but no more.  If it would rain, I might well stand out in it.  But... it... I am surprised we are even getting this.

Ah, and volunteering is going forward.  A spot of cleaning, but in the evening.  It is simply too warm in the day for me to work.  I suppose very early, maybe.  But not after, say, 08:00.  When that sun breaches the mountains, and begins shining brutally, I'm pretty much done, inside or out, for any real work.

Anyway... I'll... get some things done, shortly.  When I finish waking.

Chores, and bottles in.

.
.
It took a while to finally get to the rabbits.  But, done.  They are in good shape, well fed, and with water.  Just checking, keeping them in food and water as needed.  I pulled the bottles.  I had thought to put bottles out again, but between their condition, the heat, and my condition, I decided against it.

Ducks got a meal and some water as well.  Nothing fancy, just a topping off.

At first it seemed okay.  After hauling the feed bucket and waterers around in the heat, it grew worse.  Until I was bushed, and baked, upon reentry.  That's when I gave up on putting more bottles out.  It is 93 out there.  At midafternoon, that's not bad.  And the rabbits looked healthy.  So I just let that go.

A nap, I think.  Though, after the attempt at a nap the other day, I must realize I may not nap.  I may end up sleeping until tomorrow morning.  Not that that is a horrible thing.  Though, this  time, if I wake, I'll get down and open the house up.  While it doesn't help a lot, not opening the house is far worse.

I purchased a few small window fans, but they have almost no air movement to them.  At full speed, they are weaker than the fans you can connect to a smartphone.  Yes, for 8" or 9" fans, there is absolutely nothing to them.  They aren't battery, either, 120v.  Wow, what a poor design.  My weakest fan kicks more to me, ten feet away, than these kick out right next to them.  No, not window fans at all.  I'll have to look locally.

Still, the goal is a nap.  Then to get up, take a shower, maybe do a load of laundry (didn't get done last night because, duh, can't water the lawn AND do laundry).  Well, and getting dishes going again.  I did get some through, need more through.  And the drying counter for them is ready.  So all I have to do is push them through.

Tomorrow?  If I can get up when it is still cool... maybe some picking, and shoveling?  Maybe.  As well, gathering twigs, more raking... always with the branches after heavy winds.  Then getting all that sacked up.  Moving the trailer so as to gather bigger twig/branches on the far side.  With everything going, maybe get that load off the trailer.  If it is the last load, perhaps returning it?  Bleh.  Some, part, all, who knows.  I have things to do, and am getting some things done.  Not as fast as I could hope, but... not bad.  Especially for it being high summer.

Later, or good night.

A final lesson.

.
.
Well, the last lesson in hiragana.  Or... the standard hiragana.  Now, remains, the irregular forms, as well as the beginning of katakana and possibly irregular forms of it's pronunciations.  I won't say I have them down perfectly.  However, most sounds are very static, between vowel and consonant combinations with only a few having more complicated pronunciations (fu, as an example).  So, really, I am doing well.

However, memorizing how to write each character is a whole other thing.  That will take more of the time than most other aspects.  And, yet, I am going to try to have those sorted within a month, for each of the two sets of kana.  Kanji?  That... is more like a lifetime process which will never quite be sorted, fully.  Much as with English, and trying to learn every word.  Just in the medical, engineering, industrial (pick a particular one), or academic circle, there are words no one outside of it would, or should learn.  It would be out of context in any other setting.  And without even more words to set it up, it just wouldn't make sense.

This time I timed it.  It took right at an hour and an half, minus a little less than a minute.  That was with a couple of short breaks, and a stroll downstairs to seek water.  I am positive it takes much less time than the first three sessions, and it is becoming quicker still, most likely.

I no longer cramp up, just from sitting in the proper position to study and write.  I not longer get writers' cramps at neck, elbow, hand, or elsewhere.  Though, too, I have learned to do small stretches, or even get up and get downstairs.  Even if I do nothing but go down, look around, then go back up, it helps.

I may do another session this afternoon.  But I won't start anything new until Monday.  The goal is simply to review what I have studied to point, and practice writing, nearly calligraphy, so as to begin crafting flash cards of the characters, and then, eventually, flash cards for vocabulary.

The vocabulary that has been presented, so far, has been simpler expressions, of two to five characters.  Though not always is the meaning understood.  A circular fan?  Is that a round shaped electric fan?  Or is that a folding fan, of a mechanical nature?  As well, there are nouns, verbs, and other included.  So far, all verbs seem to be in their simple, or root, form.  I am waiting more for the grammar lessons to begin truly focusing on vocabulary.  Though, when I do begin to hit it, I will hit it hard.

A nap?  Perhaps.  After lunch?  That would be nice.  Later.

Eureka!

.
.
Eureka?  Isn't that what they exclaim when they find what they were digging, or striking, or else, for?  Then that would be the word.  I have been digging in my lawn, to find pipe.  A three by three by two foot deep hole, finally this morning, finding pipe... or more, pipe near the pipe perpendicular to the ground... pipe probably connected to it somehow which then runs parallel to the ground.  I found it after getting two or three more levels of dirt and rock, broken and removed... inches at a time.  I'm not a young man.

However, the sun was cresting onto my work, and the sun and I are not friends in this way.  I had to call it off.  It has been the accumulation of four or five days, over the course of a week? Two?  Digging as much as I could until I was completely drained.

Even now, seeing squiggly light shows and stars from the bit I did this morning.  But I... got excited, and began digging with abandon, in the hopes of completely exposing the pipe.  I kept piking, and digging, and piking, and... every shovel full just got backfilled, somehow, as if a mountain was resting on t he verge of my shoveling area!  It just wouldn't open!

Then the sun came out.  And rather than quit then and there, it is as if I became mad with a lust to uncover the pipe.  No.  No!  It just would not come out, come clean.  I dug for as long as I could, defying the sun to scorch me... which it probably did.  But the pipe would not come out, dirt just... multiplied, or seemed to, as it was loosened around the pipes.

Almost bedtime.

.
.
One last, if a bit of an extra, run with the sprinkler.  A slightly adjusted area.  Trying to hit both a fresh area, and the hole being dug.  So... that's just taking extra time.

Someone is playing around.  I can't swear the blog post is connected with the song pops, but to me, yes.  I get the sense that one followed the others, or the other way around, but in a connected fashion.  It... doesn't mean someone agrees, or even sees a pattern?  No, they see.  They may not know what pattern they see, or maybe they do.

I give people credit, often, when it is undeserved.  I also underestimate people regularly.  Look, I only have so many chips.  And, in the real world, either they are played or lost.  Even God suggests that hiding talents will yield even that to be taken.  I still don't know what happens to those who lose the talents, for, honestly, He only discusses winners, in the game.  As if there can only be winners and those who neither win nor lose.  Remember, this was time before interest earned or paid, so the only way to lose, or win, was to mechanically accumulate more money, or spend and not get a return... or lose on the return.  Anyway...

The sneaky basta...

.
.
While out, turning off water, I noticed something else.  They stole my branches!  The ones I was going to take to the green waste and dump?  Snuck right up, and took em', without so much as a thank you!  Hahaha  Those guys.  Must be laughing all the way to the... bank?  Or, well, the green waste dump area.  *sigh*  I didn't even hear them.

I really am trying to do things myself.  I know, it's taking me forever.  But... I... really am doing as well as possible.  Still, with it empty, I will begin filling it again.  Perhaps one more fill?  Probably.  Some racking up in bags, though I have to empty the bags... can't leave them in bags.  Which is fine.  That's just an easier way to deposit.

Time to change the water, the first run.  I have three more to go.  All good.  Still very warm, 82 near the machine, at 00:17.  Bleh, it's a rough one tonight.  The clouds have brought heat as well as clouds from the south.  If something from the north doesn't connect, nothing will happen?  Maybe.

Well, back to it.  Good night.  Sleep well.  See you in the morning, unless one of us dies.  If both of us die, hope to see you in heaven.  If we end up in hell?  People make a huge mistake thinking they will be in good company in hell.  You... don't even get spanked, burned, or else.  You... just... are.  Forever.  Not just without God, without anyone.  Not even insanity will spare you.  Perfected of form.  Don't, just... don't.  Amen.

Done early.

.
.
It was the wind.  It was, essentially, two high to effective spray.  There were a few areas hit, more as a hail mary for some who are having a terrible time with mosquitoes.  Do what you can, anyway, sometimes.  It is still very warm.  Even with the wind, and clouds which moved in.  As suspected, no rain.  Or, not yet.  And it is staying so very warm!  Brutal.  I hope upstairs is better.

I started the water, in the southeast quadrant.  I have three more quadrants to do.  I'll do the back yard tomorrow, after I mow.  I hope.  Oh, and I got the pick out and loosened some of the dirt in the hole.  It... seemed like someone else had also done so?  Odd.  As well, the hole digger and pole pick were out.  Very strange.  Yes, I... notice.  Must have been when I was upstairs, in the ac.  I can't hear people in my yard when up there.  Usually do when downstairs.  Usually?  Sometimes.

Medicine taken.  Not slow acting, I'll get that shortly.  With a shower taken earlier, I am pretty much ready for bed... when... I'm ready for bed that is.  I have just a few things to do.  I may put the towels in to wash, and put them out or dry them tomorrow.  Then, maybe, set up another load of laundry.  A small one, probably synthetics, so that I may get those out on the line too.  There are only two big towels and a few smaller ones.  Should just take one line.  So a smaller second load is possible.

It will be a good night to sleep, if it's cool up there.  Oh, but I can't start towels until after watering.  Which is fine.  I don't need to be up while they wash, and will be hitting them early.  So, all good.  Another ten to twelve hours will be fine.  I am a bit heatsick, but... doing well considering.

Yeah.  It's... all good.  Oh, and deet really does work.  At 100%?  No problems.  If... it might be rearranging my dna as well.  Bleh.  At least this one has definite good results, unlike some jabs one might get.  Good night.

Not perfect, but not bad.

.
.
I didn't figure out how long a Japanese lesson takes.  Though I suspect I, currently, would be timing apples, to previous oranges.  I am going faster, now.  I would guess I have cut a quarter of the study time it initially took.  Perhaps more, maybe half, or even more.  Just studying was harsh initially.  It hurt to sit in that way, and to write.  Now it is easier, and doesn't hurt.

A shower was had, and a shave applied.  Oh, wonderful.  I tried something different, for shaving.  I tried baby lotion.  Actually, it worked extremely well!  Much better than soaps I work to a lather, or shaving creams.  Seriously, much better.  And, I could get two cuts per application, easily, maybe three.  While with those others, I had to apply between, pretty much, every cut... or risk heavier burn.

I also got Japanese going.  And worked with some things, to begin practicing so as to craft flash cards.  The first sets will be just hiragana.  The next will be katakana.  Then, of course, kanji.  But those will be put into simpler sentences.  My first Japanese/English, English/Japanese dictionary is in.  It uses Romanji and English, which is fine for now.  I had hoped it would also present in more hiragana and katakana, but... then again, maybe some things can't be said in such forms, not fully, or simply not commonly?  There is some hiragana and katakana, but it is sparse.  Still, satisfied.  It is a beginning.

I put frozen water bottles out for the rabbits, and checked their food and water.  As well, I did a final feeding and watering of ducks.  Further, I seeded the lawn with the last of that pack.  As well, I set up the sprinkler, mostly.  Roughly putting it where it may be set up quickly, but not so visible from the road.  Yes, thieves.  The potential is real.  Even insulin isn't safe.

Clouded over.  This time it is real clouds, not a smoky haze.  It doesn't look like it will rain.  Just too... loose.  No feel for it, either.  But it was heating up, here in the house, for some reason.  I had to open up.  It had gotten to nearly 90 in the front room.  With things opened up, it is down to 83... with the machine running.  A very strange world, day.  A bit heatsick from that oddity of weather.

A few things.  Nothing fancy.  The girls and critters fed and taken care of for the day, grass seeded and ready to water this evening.  Japanese studied, and getting ready for more study, plus a pronunciation sorted.  They said they don't have and "f", then tried to have me pronounce something as "fu", or such.  But it was really "fhu", sort of, with nearly a silent f... nearly.  I'd say almost fully h, mostly.  Blah!

A few other things.  Small bits and pieces, here and there.  But a good day.  Not any heavy work, wasn't up to it.  But some smaller things, and things I am trying to make as regular.  As well, a good night of sleep to help, and some food along the way.  It's the best I have done on a high summer day in many decades... well, three.  It seems like many.  Later.

Not the fastest.

.
.
Waterers filled, toilet paper brought down, and put where required, cats fed, their litter cleaned, even a brunch in... chicken soup.  This time I added pepper flecks, just enough to taste.  Well, and cat water, and a second area for the ducks to have a watering spot as they go around the house.  It gives a few of them a quiet little place to go.  And, yes, they... are grateful, believe it or else, especially Mourning Dove.  It, really, is mostly her spot.

Laundry from upstairs, and some boxes, were also brought down.  Always more to do than I think.  And, yes, a trip or three, up the steps and back down, wears me out.  Little breaks, between larger or longer spits of work.  I do what I can.  And, really, am doing well.  Not everything I had hoped, because there is always more to it, little things between this and that job often, and as everyone knows... tasks take longer than anticipated!  Oh yes, they do.

I am about at the point where I want to go up and study Japanese for... you know?  I don't know how long a lesson takes.  I will have to take a timer up, or use my smart phone, to track the time.  I would guess an hour, no more than two, though maybe less?  I... just, honestly, don't know.  I am used to not knowing what time it is, how much time has passed, because, to some degree, it doesn't matter.  Time is not in my hands, but I can kill it like few you will ever know, in ways you cannot yet understand... if, still, time, for me, seems eternal.  I... can't escape it, no matter how much of it I kill.  As with life, and death, time is a God thing.  I, at best, am merely a tool.  No matter how potent, or weak, of a tool.  A tool is all I will ever be.  His will, not mine.  Amen.

Well... yeah.  On to Japanese.  Wait!  I didn't finish morning chores.  The rabbits in the outbuilding must be tended, at least checked.  Their waterers had to be refilled.  That done, I can now get to them.  Then... I will be happy with this morning, so far.  After Japanese, perhaps frozen bottles to the rabbits, then a nap?  Maybe.

Good day, God bless, and get off my porch!

Oh, finally, awake.

.
.
Been awake for some time now, to be honest.  I think I woke about three hours ago, roughly around 05:30, give or take a quarter hour.  I... even remember when I went to bed.  It was minutes before 18:00.  I set the alarm for 20:00, hoping I could get up and do a few things.  ...  Not a chance.

Finally, a full night of sleep.  So... wonderful.  So needed.  Less than twelve hours?  Very strange.  It seemed like I slept forever.  I did almost fill a three liter pee jug, while at it, but don't remember most of it.  Not sure why, either.  I have no extra fluid in my feet or ankles, or mostly.  And nothing in my chest, I am almost sure.  Very odd, but... okay.

Then, this morning, I sorted through laundry.  I had a few pairs of socks with burrs, and a pair of pants with burrs.  I had to dig those out and pull all the burrs.  I had sought a clever, or easier, way to pull the burrs.  But there really didn't seem to be a way.

As well, I went through my storage.  I seem to have more tp than I thought, and less facial tissue than I thought.  Okay.  Now I know.  I'll set up another order of facial tissue.  And I have the tp arranged so that I can count it more easily.  As well, I straightened those areas.  Finding cat food as well.  Most of which I had started keeping in another area.

I won't dig today.  Other work outdoors?  Maybe.  I'd like to mow the back yard, knock down those burrs and else.  As well, I would like to drill holes to get the eyebolts up, and maybe set up the hammock, ridgeline, and shade tarp... or soon.  But get it ready to be set up.  As well, after a shower, get dishes set up and laundry going then out.

I suspect that would be as much as I might be able to do today.  Though... I might be able to keep on with the laundry, possibly do a second load, and possibly wash dishes.  I would really like to also break down boxes.  Not sure how much of all that could be done, but I'll... start when possible.  Oh, and watering the lawn tonight.  I had hoped to do so last night, but tonight will do.  I will throw out grass seed while at it.  Though it really doesn't seem to do all that well.  Patients?  Persistence?

Then again, I would like to get the trailer hooked up, then emptied.  I just... I don't think I could do that today.  But I do want to do the next Japanese lesson this afternoon sometime.  Oh, it's only a bit after 08:30, so... I... might be able to get a goodly portion of things done, if I can keep at things, between breaks and studying.

Still, that's a lot of things to do.  And it is high summer.  The nice thing about not digging today, is the ground is dry.  Every time I water, it helps with digging, even picking, the next day.  So, tomorrow, a bit more digging.  Not going all that fast, three to six inches a session, though adding some length and depth too.  Only digging every few days, but... it's... getting there.  And, watering will ease the effort for tomorrow.

Damned good week given it is high summer.  I don't think I have ever been able to do this well in summer.  I have done as well in early summer, and late summer if it cools well, but not high summer.  I have started improving in deep winter.  Not all the time, and I end up choking.  But, I... am doing better.  At this point, however, age and physical condition are limits.  And, altering one is limited by age.  Even when I got to swimming a mile two to three times a week, it didn't help me.  It was always more a drain than ever a help.  It's just the way it is.

Still... I'll... keep at it.  I absolutely love when I am able to do more.  Even if it's just for a few days, or weeks.  I always try to do more.  And, sometimes, I fool everybody and end up doing a lot more.  Until I crash.  I don't even mind crashing these days.  If anything, I miss when I could crash for weeks, even a month or more, at a time.  Medicines, when I can take them, keep that to a limit.  Twelve hours down, at least in the summer, is as far as I can crash.  Later.

No, not bad.

.
.
Moving slow.  But getting to a few things.  Lunch helped.  May have a sandwich as well, in just a bit.

I did get up to study.  I had finished the last lesson, thankfully.  So I started, and finished, a new lesson.  One bad thing, for me, of having sweets in the house?  I'll eat them.  And, well, so it happened.  Not... all of them.  Yet.  Gah!  I'll have to be careful.  In the future.  *cough*

It is still 92, or was at a 16:15 or so.  Outside.  It didn't actually feel too bad.  But, then, I have been upstairs.  I only have one ac going, which keeps it around 77.  As well, I have a fan right near me, which makes it feel even cooler.  I am could pull the water bottles, with now thawed water.  Not sure I want to though.  It would be a hot truck.  Then again, it would mean my next run would be just feed and water.  So... you know?  Yea.

As well, I plan on going over past lessons.  Not the new vocabulary.  I'll do that the next time I run a review session.  I will just go over "letters", this time.  Oh, the blue highlight and red sheet works okay.  If you want, at least with the items I have, you can read through.  But you really have to focus.

So... collect water bottles, put them in the freezer, open feed while I'm doing that... for the ducks.  And, then, review the hiragana "letters" I have studied to date.  Not four rows of them, though, just two rows each.  Well, and a sandwich.  Yummy!  Ham I think?  And, maybe, jack cheese, with jalapeno, mayo, and stone ground mustard.

No nap, but either coming up or I'll try to hold it off until I can just go to bed.  Doing what I can.  And not a bad run today.  I may end up in some sort of trouble, or not.  I am doing as well as I can, for sure.  It is turning out better than I thought it could, especially in high summer.  If it would be quite underwhelming to almost anyone else.  It's... what I've got, what I can do.  Later.

Ambushed by the heat.

.
.
While it is only 92 out there, at 12:45, that was enough to pretty much body slam me nearly into the dirt.  All good, I got the bottles out to the rabbits.  They were mostly neutrally satisfied, to quite happy.  I was glad to see them.  I haven't checked up on them as closely as I prefer for a day or so.  I like to check them at least once a day, hands on.  I actually think they miss it, too, when I am too busy, tired, hot, or/and bothered.  I at least talk to them, when I check their food, water, and that they are moving.  But they do like being checked, and it lets me know if they are healthy, mostly.

I gave the ducks a shot of water, while at it, and looked in on the brooders.  I have learned not to go in there.  It would be like, in a right America, somehow accidentally barging in on a ladies restroom.  Has any man, as man or boy, not done so?  At one time you would get a right proper shower of abuse by an angry female of some sort.  It's how they used to do!  Well, ducks, sitting on eggs, retain their feminine indignation at being intruded upon.  Refreshing!

I would be up studying, but I need a slight breather.  I'll be seeing if these blue highlighters work with the red paper.  First it will be used on just the typing paper.  Then I will try it on a section of the book which is about copyrighting, and such, so of no bother if it doesn't work out, one way or the other.  I am quite curious, I just... I need a breath.

I am still hoping, later, perhaps after a nap, to get the trailer unloaded.  That and get the cats and myself fed, and the rabbits another checking, plus refilling waterers, and watering the grass.  I won't seed until Friday, right before I water again.  Ugh...  I'm doing what I can do, as well as I am able.  Good afternoon, day, and maybe night if I don't wake from the nap.  Be well, God's speed, and else good.

So... sort of slogging at intentions.

.
.
Work was done.  I kept hoping I'd find extra strength.  Nothing was available.  No more digging, no raking, and no unloading, at least so far.

I did get to the soup.  I decided against adding stewed, diced, or pureed tomatoes.  Instead, I simply added extra water and fresh vegetables.  As it turns out, that was... sufficient.  Not to merely make the stew into a sufficient soup, but to turn it into a very good soup.  I was more than pleased with it as a dinner.

I wanted to try simple changes, one at a time.  And, happy as I am with this, I will add tomatoes, of one sort or another, to tomorrows mix.  Very happy.  I think I will be just as happy with the tomato mix.  I like variety, and try to make whatever variety as good as it can be.  I don't mind soup being super filling.  It is rather keto friendly, especially with a lot more liquid than solid.  Delicious.

At this point, I am finally going to go up and work on Japanese.  Just a bit.  Then, probably, a nap.  My first two lesson books are in, but those won't even be opened until I have hiragana and katakana down flat.  A week?  No, no chance.  A month?  Doubtful.  I would guess, bare minimum, a month per type, with review of the other ongoing.  Then, maybe a review of both, taking another month... so... three months?  Difficult to know.

I am tracing, in the air, and in the book, the letters, sometimes, rather than writing them every time.  Practice in each as a regular?  So far, yes, from time to time.

Oh, something I heard about, so want to try out?  Blue highlighters and red clear (cellophane?) pages.  From what I was told, highlighting in blue allows reading of the printed material, but putting the red page over it, and the written material can no longer be read.  I hate writing in textbooks, even worksheets.  But this?  This is doable.  If it works with what I have.  It would also work well with flashcards, for the various ways of writing something. Yes, that means I use printer paper to draw/write hiragana, rather than the workbook.

So tired.  I used up every bit of energy I had this morning.  I just... thought... some would return.  Perhaps after a nap.  As mentioned, first, finishing the Japanese lesson, perhaps reviewing the part already done afterward.

The Latin materials ordered are also in.  Plus, I found the other Latin materials I ordered in the past, before I understood, and found materials for, ecclesiastic Latin.  I think what I have is based on classics, though the dictionary may swing both ways?  Then again, maybe I did realize my mistake, and find ecclesiastic learning materials as well.  I will have to review it, when I get to that point.  All I can say for sure is that there is a lot more ecclesiastic material available now than there used to be, on yt, at amazon, and elsewhere.  I think there is a bit of a revival, or younglings coming back, or even to, the church?  But to learn, or in an attempt to bring even more socialism/communism in?  Not... something I have much time to worry about.

On to lessons, then a nap.  I will be watering the lawn tonight.  I won't, if plans carry through, be going for the drive tonight.  So, I should be able to get the watering done rather early, maybe be done by 22:00 to 23:00.  And, finish night chores while at it.  Oh... I think I will get frozen water, in the bottles, out for the rabbits today.  I don't do it every day, but... I try, when I haven't overdone, or fallen.

Later.

Up and a bit.

.
.
First, some digging.  I have to use a pickaxe while at it. so many rocks!  from pea sized, up to about my fist, mostly averaging between those sizes.  I can't shovel through new ground.  I have to pick it loose, then scoop out what is available.  I can only do so much before I have to go sit.  Not even doing something else will help, I completely drain what energy I have.

After my first break, I did chores.  Rabbits and ducks, plus fresh water for the cats.  I'll feed them before long, and clear their litter.  But... Not for a while.  After chores, and another break, I did a bit more digging.  I am taking out inches more, wide... deep... at the rate the young take out feet.  Almost not worth it.  For me, it is exercise, as much as I can do.

The sun rose high enough to be on me while I worked.  I was done anyway, but that would have finished it if not.  I suspect the medicines I take make the sun, and heat, very difficult to withstand.  Though, maybe just age?  Though, to be honest, I think the medicines they have put me on have made being in the sun a permanent grave task.  I just can't do it.  Even my arm, in the sun, while driving, is difficult.  Long sleeves help.

Still, a good morning so far.  Just about to close the last of the windows.  It was 60 an hour ago.  I'd bet it's close to 70 out there now.  Well, 66 to 67, just checked while closing the last of the windows.  I am still hoping to get rested a bit, then get the trailer moved out and get that unloaded.  I don't know if I will be able to fill it, or not today.  But... I'll... do what I can, bit by bit.

After a break, I will go on up and study Japanese again.  First finishing the study I didn't quite get done yesterday, then a review of all the letters.  Just... doing two lines, instead of four, of everything I have done.  Then, the next time I study, today or tomorrow, start on the next study lesson.  Every other study day will be split between a pure review and going over new material.

Oh, I purchased flashcard materials.  I may have some around, but haven't been able to find them.  If I do find more, all good.  I am going to guess I will need more flashcards than ordered, on hand, or even combined should I find them all, in time.  One piece of advice, regarding vocabulary anyway, is to write the word within a sentence.  Sure, color code it, so you know what you are studying.  Why?  Because words, and sentence structure, is different enough, as are... even what nouns are needed, no always is the subject necessary if it is plain, for example.  So, writing it in a sentence helps set some of those things in mind.

It would be like a foreigner knowing "I", "can", "go", "to the store", but formulating in their tongue, and having come out as "go I to the store can".  Sort of correct, just... so if studying "store", best have it written as "I can go to the store".  I immediately understood the good of that.  Even if I can't, immediately, understand the rest of the sentence, or grammar.  How much does a child understand, how much do they simply attempt to repeat?  Of course, that means having a dictionary, which does such.  So... yes, I have ordered two, the one in the books post, and this one.  If this one is too advanced, the other may be a stepping stone to the use of this one?  Yea, but you gotta start somewhere.

I may not be able to do much, or work long, before choking.  But I have enough work around that I may be able to do an half hour of effort a day.  And for quite some time.  More, through time, I can probably make much more work than I can do in a lifetime.  It isn't much, but it is what I can do.  Even learning Japanese is... something.  Latin as well.  Yes, what I ordered for that, as well as what I had, is in and available.  I won't start that until, perhaps, fall or winter... when I have little else I can practically do.

Well, I best get the cat litter cleared, get them fed, then go on up and begin study.  Trying to keep eating to one or two meals a day.  Hmm... chicken soup, perhaps.  It has been sitting, and stewing, in the fridge for a day.  Some out, in a pot, with a can of tomato?  A few more fresh veggies?  A little extra water too.  Sure.  Lunch.  It really isn't as tasty as I had hoped, but it's good enough.  Later.

A good day.

.
.
Bits of work this morning, a call to my brother that went through, a few other things.  Not much, but as much as I could do, and then some.  I believe the lock has been removed.  If so, tomorrow, I can get the trailer unloaded, then, perhaps get a second load on it... or part of one.  As well, if I can wake early enough, more digging.

The fellow I travel with can do a four by four by five foot deep pit, by himself, in three to four hours.  Out in the full heat, a hundred degrees or more the last few days.  Yea.  I am around one and an half times his age, with a bad heart.  Heck, going out in the full heat can stagger me these days.  I just suggest, to him, that he be grateful he can work... if a little more sleep would be good.

Though there is always something.  Life hasn't been easy since the garden of Eden.  And, aparently, even that was too difficult to maintain.

I don't have to water anything tonight.  And I am dying for need of sleep.  I could do late chores, except I can't.  It's bedtime.  Good night.

Okay, books.

.
.
I have looked over many books, many reviews, and various other sources... written and video.  From these, I have ferreted a list of books, in a specific order, so as to learn in a self-studying manner, and more as a child might... even in Japan.  Actually, my goal was to develop my language skills as a child would if self studying but without direct immersion.

The first thing almost every source I have read suggest, is to learn hiragana and katakana.  I think, to a source, this is the highest recommendation.  To that end, I purchased two manuals.  I really should have only purchased one.  However, in my defense, if in ignorance, I had some wonder if there might be different approaches.  As it turns out, there is one approach... brute-force memorization.  The one I am using is fine.  There are others.  Just pick one which encourages much repetition.

From what I have read, it is expected to take 700 read/writes to get these well into the mind?  Youch.  But, okay.  I have noticed that, as I go over them, and then again, they don't stick so well.  But when I begin using them in words, that is when a greater appreciation and memorization begins.  It's not fast, I still look up each one to make sure I am pronouncing it right, especially in groups (while also trying to figure out how they sound together... they will change what they sound like sometimes).  Doing my best.

After I get through this book, I plan on hitting "Japanese from Zero!", the whole series.  These are slower paced, and more exacting in explaining things.  I am sure there are things which will still be difficult, so I am looking at various apps and yt sources of grammar, to cover areas a second way.  I haven't gotten to that point, so I can't evaluate those.  I am collecting them, or sources which offer other collections of sources.  These, I think, are more how a child would begin.

After these, or perhaps at some point while using these, I plan on a second tier book.  This may be similar to the "Japanese from Zero!" series.  However, they offer the grammar from the familiar, at least first.  What makes this different, is that I do believe children will learn the familial, familiar, first.  Then, later, be taught the polite forms.  I am sure there will be some of each, even at the beginning.  But, it will be more familiar first.  It is "A Guide to Japanese Grammar".

When I may, or might, switch, or add, the books... I cannot be sure.  I will just have to play that by ear.  As I progress, and as testing works out, that will decide if I can take on more, or am ready for something a bit newer or faster.  I haven't come close to getting hiragana down, let alone katakana.  So... one thing at a time.  However, I am collecting books, a few each month, in preparation.

After this, or as I get further into this last book, and the series before it, I plan to start another series.  Finally, to the school/academic styled books.  "Genki 1", 2nd edition, manual and workbook, is by far and above the most recommended hard start book.  Part of the reason I won't be starting with it is the speed of lessons.  Part of it is that there is less detail, as one is expected to be in class, so have a teacher and other students to help with detail and drills/practice... which I won't have.  And a final part of the reason to not start with this, is this begins with the formal, or polite, forms.  Not, again, how children will first receive their understanding.  Learn as a child, and learn well, I say.

As well, I would recommend a Japanese dictionary.  I have some in app form, though not sure those will work.  I am not to the point where I can evaluate.  I plan to purchase a kanji dictionary, or tome with enough to be proficient and more.  Though I really would like to find a Japanese dictionary that covers all of the forms.  I am not certain they make it, though may be buying a dictionary, in paperback, to find out.  It comes highly recommended, but I... just wish I could find something that definitely covers all forms of Japanese writing.  I have two in the queue, but will be buying this one... soon, next month, or the month after.  Actually... after looking this over, I think it will work for a general dictionary... to the point where it can be understood and used.  Maybe?  I will begin looking for an English to Japanese and Japanese to English version, or book, if this isn't it.  I... will check it again.  ---  Found one that IS a dictionary.

Yeah.  As well, I am going to begin purchasing anime, of a more childbased sort.  One thing about anime is... they don't talk like that, if they might sound like that.  Huh?  I mean, people in Japan do not speak like super heroes, spies, or act bold or capricious in real life.  Anime is art entertainment, not even drama.  It would be like walking around, talking like one of Clint Eastwood's characters, or Superman or Batman.  Don't... just... don't.  Could get giggles, if you know what you are doing...  I'll be bach!  But, yeah, no.  So... it won't be a direct translation, but enunciation is usually exceptional, and much to be learned and heard.  Practice hearing should help, a lot.

If you can't see the links, let me know.  I could try to change their color.  This is just my study plan, from what I have read, as I understand, and what I believe.  Your mileage may vary.  Good luck, to any who dare?  I should think so.

Ah, now to see about getting that lock removed.  Good morning and day.

Not bad?

.
.
Down right around 00:30.  Within small change.  After.

I didn't do night rounds with the critters.  As mentioned, sleep is still in negative territory.  The sun, the heat, it just hasn't allowed sleep.  Perhaps doing Japanese practice, up in t he cool, will help.  Though I have to admit, even when it is eleven degrees cooler up there, it doesn't feel all that cool.  Still, it is, so it might help.

Woke right at 06:30.  Would like to have slept a little longer.  A nap this afternoon, If possible.  But, when I woke, it felt right.  Time to get up, while it is cool.  Chores at least.  If I can rest from that, and gather my strength, while it is still cool, I would like to get out with the pick, loosen the soil, then begin digging some more.  I may do some raking as well.  Not a lot, can't do a lot.  But... might be able to do some.

After that, perhaps a shower, then putting dishes to soak, then starting towels?  I may not have gotten to those things, but I have been showering and brushing teeth, for what good that does.  Then again, it's high summer.  I am tiring even at farts!  Seriously, it's getting to me.  So, that I am doing anything is... probably a definite net positive.

I have some fans on the way, and will be looking at an evaporative cooler soon, maybe even today.  If, though, after the little bits of work and self-care planned, I am hoping to get that shackled cut off the suv.  Then, maybe tomorrow, I can empty the branches, and load it with perhaps one more load.  I am hoping one more load will do.

I am not sure if they take bags of raked branches.  I'll check on that.  If so, I'll get that done.  If not, I will bag them and get them into the trash?  Or drive them into the dump?  They may have their own greens waste area, where they may just take them for free.  Work, work, work, work, work.  Even for the dead.  Half dead?  Holy half dead?  Still, it's taken since last fall... summer? to get to these.

Once that all is clear, then I get to begin trying to split wood, and restack the wood pile, plus cut the medium branches into useable lengths and stack those too... on the cinder blocks.  I... am getting there.  Finally.  Back on meds helps a bit.  Not doing perfectly with blood sugar, but better.  When I don't miss insulin, I go astray with food.  I feel, often, like a paper plane in a hurricane.  Surprised I haven't been smashed to bits or torn asunder by this that or the other thing.

I want to be alive, but fully.  This holy half dead crap is for the birds.  And being dead, altogether, isn't a preferred outcome if it has to become a reality someday.  It took a long time for God to get me to choose life, in spite of the pain.  But... now it's a fire and forget thing.  Once it was done, it became a once and done.  Now, I... will struggle to live. humbly as I must.

Hmm... some water.  A rest, then to see about more digging.  Good morning and day.

A very short sleep.

.
.
Too many things on my mind.  Getting the lock cut off, groceries, getting the car cleaned... it had an extra coat of bird poop paint...  So much to do, my mind wouldn't let me sleep.  I studied a bit, but that... more or less just helped me get going.  I couldn't stick to it.

I couldn't get the lock cut off, it had already gotten too hot by the time I was ready.  I won't ask someone to do that.  I may try tomorrow morning, if I am up early enough.  I did get to town, checked my account, purchased groceries, and got the care cleaned.  Not bad, given that it was 100 out there.  I was... running into trouble.  Anything else I thought about doing, and there were several options, had to be abandoned.

Still, a good start.  As well, I called my mother.  I worry about the old girl.  She sounds good, and things sound like they are going well.  They could use rain.  Who couldn't... save the Chinese?  She will be checked out by her surgeon, after the heart doctor gave her the okay.  If the surgeon checks things and gives his okay, they will go in next week.  I actually have great sympathy for her.  This all just stretches the things out, and she frets so.  I fret with her, and pray.  It's what I can do.

Oh, I have been thinking.  I may try an evaporative cooler.  A small one, in this front room.  If it works, and with a 39% humidity the highest I have seen in months (thanks, I think, to an early monsoon season... if a dry on the ground one so far), I think it would do well here.  According to charts and advertising.  If it works well, I might put one upstairs, for the daytime, and try to use just one ac at night?  Or both, still, if needed.

If those work out, I may get a bigger one for the living room and rest of the house.  Everything is separated enough that... it could really work well.  Cheaper than an whole house ac, up front?  Yes.  But more expensive on electric?  Probably.  Though, I wouldn't have to run them all, all the time.  Just now and again.  If I can handle 86, I can handle 72.  Heck, 72 might be too cool anymore.  Though adding moisture, maybe not?  Bleh.  Worth a shot.  Just a small one, for this closed off front room.

Enough food for, probably, two or three weeks to two months, possibly, of driving meals.  Sandwiches, deserts, fruits, and a side else.  Not every night, but... options.  Perhaps still a dinner out a week?  Just... because.  Oh, and some stuff for tacos.  Even tortillas which are supposed to be keto friendly, plus regular ones.  Oh, I need to get sour cream from the raw milk store.  The best!

Well, I think I'll go up and study a bit.  Perhaps a nap after that.  And let my partner know there is food.  Pretty cheap, but the stuff he likes.  Mostly stuff I can have.  Mostly.  Later.

Not much.

.
.
At least it is cool.  It was down to 52, but is up to 54.  Though it may dip again?  Maybe not, though.  clouds have moved in.  Partly or fully I couldn't quite tell.  I did water the lawn.  I am hoping yet to shower and shave.  Oh, and I collected trash and got it out.  Nothing fancy, at all.  But some things.

If I can get the shower and shave, I can probably start towels.  Perhaps that will motivate me to get laundry collected from wherever it may be, and get it back for a run sooner rather than later.  I would like to do some digging, around a water shutoff for the old automated watering system.  It's all broken, just want to see about some things.

Actually, I did just a bit of raking last night.  I found a pile where there hadn't been one?  I could have sworn.  But it was going to get wet.  When wet, it is a bear to rake a pile over.  So, I did it before I set the water to go in that zone.  Collected it into the pile I created form several other piles a week or so ago.

As for food?  Just a small container of fruit, plus celery and peanut butter.  I'd like to make more soup, I'm just not up to it.  That should do for the day.

Chores done, for last night and this morning.  Not everything.  Though I may not be done.  A shower and shave would be a good ending.  Though if I could set dishes up and then do a load of laundry, I'd be well on the way.  More, if laundry could be collected and readied for sooner than later, and I could do a bit of study before going to bed, that would be swell on top of super.  We'll see.

Oh, best feed the girls and do their litter.  Yeah.  I've been missing that for a day or two.  Bleh.  Later, or good night.

Ah, this is about right.

.
.
The first section kana, hiragana.  I had to review before I could decide if the pronunciations sounded right to me.  And, I haven't finished all of them, if I have looked them over and sounded them out.  However, I think this is how they are sounded.  There are some I will have great difficulty with.  Still, good to have a sounding which I believe I do trust.

I remember.

.
.
It was shortly after 13:00 when I tucked in, a quarter after?  I finished the lessons, then called my mother.  She didn't answer.  Probably doing the same thing I was about to do.  And, then, I slept.

It was a rough sleep.  I had to force myself to continue sleeping, though sometimes I simply wasn't able to wake well.  At least I wasn't freezing this time!  I did go from a bit too warm to a bit too cool, though this time, adjusting blankets or kicking my feet out was enough to adjust comfortably.  Still, I had to do that fairly often.  Something is off.  Or, maybe, something is right?  I wonder if the new medicines are causing changes.

Blood sugar is 173 fasting.  Not great, again, but I lost track of insulin for a while.  Longer than I lost track of pill medicines.  I am mostly getting back on things.  But I'm not doing well, on either.  Too hot?  I can't function well.  Same with too cold.  Or if whether changes too quickly.  Why do you think people move to Hawaii?  It's a rather static weather environment.  I suppose if you can get used to it, it seems good.

A solid headache this "morning".  No complaints, really.  That is mild.  And, for whatever reason, I have only passingly been in pain, anywhere, lately.  The heat might be beating me up, but other pains seem to have been sidelined.  I suppose there is only so much?  No, no, it could be worse.  I am just... having a better run for a good reason I don't understand, or no reason at all.

When I get medicine going for a week, I will begin doing blood pressure readings daily.  Then, a week after that, I will call my doctor.  I think I have an appointment coming up though, so I might wait until then.  Oh, I best check on the mask mandate.  If they are still requiring it, I will change the appointment to a call-in.  Though I may ask they set up a blood draw for before that, and get in so he has that for the appointment.  I just won't sit up there for three to five hours, wearing a g-d face diaper, while they know it does absolutely no good and demand it.  They KNOW better.  It is a truly unhealthy thing to do, even for the healthy.

Hmm... I should get some of the chicken soup out, and get a portion heating.  I'll add some hot spice to it, perhaps that will help.  And more water, make it less of a vegetable meat stew.  I can change each version of it, so I will.  I am hoping to get a shower before long, perhaps after chores, if that after giving myself some time to wake.

A nine hour sleep?  It sounds fancy, or plenty.  But I woke every few hours, either becoming too hot or too cold, and kicked even more.  It was a rough sleep.  And it feels it.  The headache is from the neck being a bit out, which is from rolling so not being able to find and stay comfortable.  And I am sleepy still.

Yeah, but I'll get to a few things today.  Trash out, a shower and shave, dishes started, and towels started.  Oh, and laundry collected elsewise.  Plus food for myself and the girls.  And best get their litter cleared.  Bleh.  Later.

Ah! Forgot something.

Speaking of anime...

There is one of my readers who may be able to help me with a particular set of criteria, in obtaining, or seeking out, anime or other forms of Japanese arts.

As some may suspect, some anime is not particularly conducive to chastity.  Further, much of those forms of anime are more adult oriented.  So, I am seeking anime aimed at children.  Annoying as that may be, it is a start for the start, and is more easily viewed by the celibate.

As well, I am hoping to find something that is spoken in Japanese, but also has captions in English (and bonus points if it also has captions in Japanese!).

But, Doom, I hear them saying... you watch all sorts of things of *cough* questionable natures.  And, I say... true, perhaps.  But to you.  Much of what I watch either represents a past I have surrendered, things I understand or believe are part of my life or could be, and I limit such possibilities to within wedded bliss.  If you can't see without lust, then do not look.  If you can see two dogs procreating, and merely notice the male dog seems a bit out of shape?  It's... not the same thing.

Anime, which seems odd to me, is something I don't tolerate well... in this regard.  So, I would prefer something for children.  It doesn't have to be children.  If there is an adult anime, or dozen, which are clean, white, and neat... if you get my drift, with simple language, super!  I just... doubt if they have such for anime.

You know who you are.  Though, maybe, you only consume English dub, or English only, anime.  I just... somehow... doubt it.

Now, on to study and bed.  I missed the noon cutoff.  But it will be fine.  I will sleep when I sleep, and it will be shortly.  Probably before 14:00.  I just... I am moving slow, I had a few things to finish, and... yeah.  Good afternoon, day, and night.

I am at an end, I think.

.
.
Two mugs of chicken veggie soup consumed.  I must admit, it... isn't as good as I remember.  I can't say why.  I will attempt to alter my methods, and try different things to improve it.  It was okay, just... not... extremely satisfying, as it has been.  In any case, it has been put up, and I will pull out enough, each day, for a couple of servings (which amounts to, honestly, a single solid meal serving).

A few other things were done, and I will hit kitty litter before going to bed.  No shower, shave, laundry, or dishes.  Simply too tired, crashing.  And... freezing!  Which makes absolutely no sense.  It is 77 in here, near the computer.  It has been slowly warming outside, so that it is 78~79 out there.  Blood sugar is a bit elevated.  I suspected it would be, but checked anyway.

I did take insulin, but after having to take carb tabs earlier.  Things are flipping around strangely.  Anyway... I shouldn't be so cold.  Especially after two mugs of hot soup!  Whatever the thing is, I can't beat it.  At least I got the soup together, eaten, and the remnants put up.

I may try to finish the studies, before sleeping.  A blanket across my legs, maybe one wrapped around my shoulders.  Freezing!  Or I may just crash.  I'll try to get things going when I wake.  It isn't quite noon.  Even if I study, I should be to bed by noon.  I'll sleep as well as possible, and probably as long as possible.  I still need sleep.  Good morning.  Good day.  Good night.

Not an unreasonable second start.

.
.
Not sure all will be done.  But some of it is doing, going, and pretty sure to be started and finished.  If a few changes were made along the way.

The chicken is finished, out of the instapot, and on a plate in the oven.  The girls are being absolutely beastly.  They desire chicken.  Now.  NOW.  Fighting with each other, and trying to make sure I get stuck between them.  I'm... very much involved, and they are letting me know it.  And I let them know I am a fucking giant with a temper.  usually settles down shortly, quickly.  Fee, fi, fo, fum, scat you foolish cats!

Celery and cabbage was chopped, the other veggies were just dumped, with mushrooms too, into the pot.  I did decide to go with a low pressure pressure cooking time, at zero time.  The pot was chock full of veggies.  I hope this works better.  When it is finished, I will open it up and let it stand open, until I get the chicken off the bone.  But it will take a while for the chicken to cool.

I did get back to studying Japanese.  As I was beginning the study in the beginning of the book, I came across something I had missed.  The instructions are to study only the first three sections in the front of the book.  Then do the letters for hiragana, then come back and study.  Probably after the katakana as well?  I will, if there are sections more for that.  I think there were.

So, instead of rereading the beginning sections, I just jumped back into the letters.  Starting, again, from the start.  I finished the basics, but will do the review shortly, which will also include the first word formations as well as covering the letters I just wrote... pronouncing them to the best of my ability as I went.  I may, soon, figure out where I can find a good pronunciation recording of these, to rectify if necessary.  For right now, this will do.

While there are various ways of speaking Japanese, there seem to be to main ones.  And the one in the Tokyo area is a main one.  Which is also closest to the common Japanese dialect.  So... for me... I would probably prefer the common/Tokyo pronunciation... if I can find that more specifically.  There is always the worry that I would find the other one, and it not be noted.  Tricks and traps.

Anyway... I will go up and finish the review, then check on vegetables and chicken.  Either the chicken will be cool enough to gather the meat or not.  Though the vegetables should be done.  Might be done now?  I'll check.  Ugh.  Still, something IS happening.  I wasn't sure it would.  I worried that I might fall and do nothing.  The cool was getting to me.  It is almost beginning to warm now.  Sure are a lot of clouds though.  They may evaporate, but not before cutting the high today by a bit, and slowing the heating of the day as well.  A good thing.

Later.
----------

The stew is done.  Having a bowl.  The chicken parted quickly.  Nice.  It's not steaming hot, but it's not winter.  Though, even then, I prefer it more moderated.  Tasty.  I'll let it cool, perhaps having another mug of it, then put it up.  I also had to feed and water the ducks.  Rabbits were good a few hours ago, but the ducks needed more food.  Got it.

Now to take a shower, start towels, and collect more laundry to be done, hopefully some time today.  I may do some mowing out back.  Weeds, with sticky things, have come up and invaded.  I want those gone.  But I can mow later.  I don't like bothering the neighbors this early, especially on a Sunday.

A shower, shave, start to the dishes, and a load of towels through, then to bed?  If possible.  Maybe a bit more study as I go up to sleep.  Good night, or day, or whatever the heck it happens to be, here or there.

I can't remember what all was planned.

.
.
Not much happening.  Partly because getting the chicken going meant, as it turns out, thawing the thing.  Or, mostly.  To get it out of the packaging.  Still, that part is done, and it is in the cooking process.  Water, garlic, pepper, dried onion flecks, and a whole chicken, in at 6 minutes per pound, so 24 minutes.  Of course, the cooldown takes a while.  Then cooling the chicken itself, to get the meat off the bone.  Though I may just put chopped cabbage and half of a package of fresh raw vegetables in, as the chicken cools enough to debone.

I might still be able to get a shower, and maybe a shave?  If so, getting dishes set up for a next run, and then setting up towels in the washing machine, might be possible.  Who knows, might even get the towels out on the line, and get another load of laundry ready for the next time I can work.

No shoveling this morning.  No other outdoor work.  Just household.  It is 52~53 out there, so would be a good day.  I am simply still too tired.  I have pushed, or more simply been unable to sleep.  If that isn't the complete reason.  I will water the lawn again tonight, hopefully softening the area I need to dig even more.  It is rocky, so moisture can help.

Hmm... I may just go on up and do some of the study, while the chicken pressure cooks.  I am hoping to have a bowl of the stuff before going to bed.  Who knows.  Oh, I want to add a good tablespoon, or two, of butter in with the veggies.  It... is a nice add.  If, too, it really helps with veggies... for taste, mouthfeel, and that extra fat that keto requests... requires.

Oh, and medicine.  I missed a number of days in there.  Still not sure how.  I do my best, and thought I was taking it regularly.  I lost... I missed Wednesday night and Thursday, which would have been my new week.  Didn't catch it until Saturday.  So... yeah...  I do my best, my best just isn't always good enough.  Back on it though.  It is what I can do.

On to studying.  Then a shower if I finish before needing to mess with the chicken and veggies.  Hopefully a shower, dishes set to clean, and laundry.  Then to bed?  I'm not terribly sleepy, now.  Odd how thinking about things, when I can, wakes me up.  Later.

A start.

.
.
Chores finished.  Not much to do, the rabbits were all good.  Then pots and pans cleaned.  Not a lot, those in the queue.  Mostly done, just needed a final wash, rinse, and drying.  As such, I have one of the pots for the instapot set up with one of the trivets.

Chicken, a whole one, is the decision.  It just has to thaw a bit to get the packaging off.  Then it will go in.  Water is ready, else is ready, just need to get the packaging off.  I'll run it through by weight time, let it slowly release, then add veggies and reseal the lot.  It should do all right.  Though I will have to pull the meat off the bones.  So, there is that.  Well, and keeping the chicken out of the teeth and claws of the girls while it cools.  The oven compartment works well for that.

It is down to 55 tonight, last I looked.  It feels beyond cool, into cold.  I had a sandwich earlier.  Nothing fancy, turkey, cheddar, and mayo.  Just one.  Sometimes two is needed, sometimes one will do.  Usually, these day, one will do.  As long as I haven't skipped eating for several days, or gone too light for too long.

One of the cheeses I got I end up much preferring as a singular snack, or mixed with nuts or kefir.  Munster.  It just doesn't taste good, on sandwiches, to me.  But as a finger food, I adore it.  Hmm, I may get some other non-sandwich cheeses as sides.  Edam, gouda, camembert, and a few other.  Good as bits, or sometimes with fruit, nuts, or salami cuts on the side.

Well, and swiss can go either way, as some others.  Gorgonzola?  I like mixing that with a cold cut platter and goat cheese, to be honest.  It's a bit sharp, solo.  Though, too, melted on a sandwich, gorgonzola can really boost flavor, if you can handle the punch.  There are many cheeses I like, some are a bit pricy and/or rare for me to find.  Only few I can't quite tolerate.  In a perfect world, any cheese could be found and afforded!  Almost dreaming of cheese right here in my post as I am barely staying awake.  The cool, it... it is getting to me.

I did clean off the freezer top.  It was clear, and has mostly been staying clear, just getting a bit messed up from time to time.  I am hoping to get dinner started, then maybe take a shower.  And, then, put more dishes in for a run.  Maybe to be finished tonight?  That and towels, hopefully to be put out to dry for the morning.  If I can.  And assuming I stay awake.  At 05:12, morning chores are done.  I'd like to do chores again around 13:00~15:00.  Putting out frozen bottles of water, too, if it is hotter, 95 or up.

And, maybe, in  there somewhere, go over the Japanese material.  I'm not terribly worried about it.  I will be going over the material several times.  First, to get it down.  Then to actually make it not just understandable, but understood.  As well as possible.  Every two or three days I may take a section, then hit it almost exclusively on the weekends, as possible.

Later.

Sleep, difficult sleep.

.
.
I kept waking up, either needing to put blankets on or take them off, kick feet out, or bundle them under blankets.  I almost gave up around 17:00, but knew I needed more sleep.  A lot more sleep, as I haven't been sleeping more than four the six hours a day?  Something.  Too hot.  Even at 73, my body just doesn't cool off.  Even with a shower, it just doesn't cool enough.

So staying in bed, sleep did happen.  I would guess twelve hours of sleep was had.  Though, more like twelve hours down, as I woke up every few hours.  Either too hot, too cold, or... just because.  I am hoping to get more sleep tomorrow evening.  As much as possible.  I really need some sleep.  This helped, but it won't make up for weeks of little sleep.

Oh, I checked the lawn today.  It really doesn't look like much grass is growing.  There were a very few sparse sprouts before, and those remain.  But nothing actually new since a week or two ago.  Fertilizer has been used, if possibly just not enough?  And, we have been having overcast days, which actually should be helpful, to give the seeds some time off from the blasting sun.  Still, not much going on.

I will continue seed the lawn, as usual, every two weeks or so.  I have enough for probably three more seedings.  As well, I have been keeping up on watering, three times a week.  The area needing the most growth gets a double shot, it is in an overlap area... which I think is a positive.  The areas that were a little tight, going brown, but generally full, have greened and truly thickened.  So I do, mostly, have a lawn back.  Oh, perhaps I should make sure no one is mowing the lawn.  That would probably just pull the seeds out?  And, there is no real need.  I'll make sure everyone else knows.  I do need to mow the back yard, but that's different.  The back yard is doing okay, if weeds in some spots have become a problem.  Bleh.

I'll get chores started in a bit.  It is 60 out there, or was when I woke... about an hour ago.  The highest I saw the temp out there was 84, but I went to bed in the earlier afternoon, can't remember exactly when.  Or noon?  I... just can't exactly remember?  Thought I thought it was about 13:30, come to think of it.  Which is why I thought I had been down twelve hours?  Right.

Odd, but I woke at 21:00, about exactly.  And, though still cloudy, it was rather bright out there.  Not noon bright, but still brighter than I would have expected.  Weird how the world works sometimes.  Anyway.  After chores, I'd like to try to do a bit of work in the house.  Set up dishes, and push those through.  Take a shower, and then start laundry... to put towels out in the morning.

And, maybe, cook a little meal.  I have veggies, so a roast of some sort, or chicken, could be instapotted, then vegetables added.  This time I won't pressure cook the veggies at all.  That just overdoes them, even at zero time pressure cooking.  Hmm... there is a low pressure option...  Still, really?  I'd like to just leave them in the instapot, with the hot meat and juice, release closed, for say... twenty minutes, adding ten minutes if they aren't as tender as preferred.  Food would be good.  It's been a while since I have eaten right, either.

If all gets done well, or I do what I can do, then I could go read the beginning section of the manual I started.  Taking notes, and clarifying what is being presented.  I really am getting much of what they are saying.  While various languages have very different aspects, pronunciations, rules, and all, they also have some very potent similarities.  Verbs, nouns, adjectives, most have a way to indicate time, some are more divided by feminine and masculine notations, and such.

It isn't exactly like a puzzle, but similar.  As it isn't exactly mathematics, but there is some of that.  Same too with music, to a degree, if music and math are probably closer.  I have heard Chinese is based on poetry, or is poetic.  I wonder if Japanese, having taken much from Chinese, is also that way?  That isn't guaranteed, only... possible.  Not my favorite base, but... you work with what you have, not with what you want.  Ask God.  We, men anyway, were all supposed to be as Jesus.  I definitely fall short.  Haven't met one who doesn't.  The more self assured they are, the shorter they fall.

Anyway... Later.
