Can't sleep.

.
.
Rested in bed for as long as possible.  Resting as I wait for the time to go.  One of the things I was looking for was finally found.  A 12v charger for the phone.  I will be using the phone map, if it works, when it works.  It isn't a great system.  It might work as a secondary backup.  They just don't have it down.  Maybe never will.  Not very dependable.  Still, since I have it, I'll try to use it.  Can't even get it to save the route.  I finally put the start and destination points in, if it wouldn't let me name the end point.

Although, to be honest, I haven't had good experiences with stand-alone gps guides either.  It's been a while, if millenial, Indian, and Chinese engineers don't provide confidence in improvements.  They just want you to buy their junk, then buy other "better" junk, never thinking it is all junk.  By the time you learn to program well enough to realize you have been taken, the brick is yours.

Almost everything is packed.  I... don't pack well.  Not in any sense of the word.  Too much/many, too few, poor placement, missing items.  Whatever.  It's not like I travel often though, either.  And I am used to having... lots of things around.  Tools and the chainsaw do take up some serious space.  Plus chainsaw blade and gas oil, and a tank for gas (currently empty).  It almost seems foolish to take until you realize how much that stuff costs on the fly.  It's brutal out there.  I do need an oiler can, with a small nib for the chain oil.  I can't find the old one.

Shins are both still rough.  I really nicked them, and bruised.  At least I didn't scalp them.  I've been too busy to eat, sleep, and medicate correctly, so they aren't healing as well, quickly, as could be hoped.  They did get me right over a terribly stubbed big toe though.  One great pain dwarfed by a set of greater pains.  There is that.

Later, probably by a long shot.

Running just a bit behind.

.
.
Breakfast was okay.  I wasn't sure about the server this time though.  I really hate getting a male server.  Yesterday I got a male, but had no doubt that he was straight.  The tipping, assuming competence, goes from pretty and female getting the best, then any female, then straight.  Gays or dubious get the least.  It's my money.  Why hire them?  I suppose high end spots think it's sporty, but blue collar joints?

I did get signed back up for AAA.  I rarely ever needed them.  It's a mental comfort.  I won't say they saved me any money, but they do make it so that the higher cost times... the bill is spreed out.  I really like the peace of mind.  I would have had them do a trip plan, if I probably really don't need it.  On the other side, they could probably optimize around road work.  Perhaps they could find better than overpriced flea boxes to stay at?

So close.  I will call and let her know about the delay.  She thinks I left last night... "...takes his while like a Northern summer".  Then to sleep.  I am still in good shape, not overheated... yet.  But if I don't tuck and chill, I will begin pushing things.  Later.

It's a good thing I dug in.

.
.
As is, I am barely ahead of schedule.  And I have a shower to take, then laundry to set.  Plus, I might as well load the vehicle with what is ready.  My 8:00 goal was optimistic, definitely thinking I could get out earlier was bogus.  Still, it will work.  And food this morning will hold me well into the night, perhaps until tomorrow morning.  Though I prefer jerky, and candy occasionally, on long trips.  Not to stay stuffed, just to keep it trimmed up.

Most of the dishes are done.  I just need to pack toiletries, the ps3 and tv, find the 12v phone chareger, get that in later, pack what is ready now, and laundry.  Always more?  Time to shower and feed up.

Bleh.

.
.
Laundry is nearly finished.  Dishes?  Everything is clean.  But there is so much.  Packing is nearly done.  Food would be good, there just isn't anything easy enough.  Pickles?  No, they are too much on an empy stomach.  Same with sardines.  I just might make a morning run for breakfast.  Or not?  Hungry but busy.

Hmm... if I kick out the dishes by 8:00?  Then yes.  The last load of laundry can be put in, if so.  I'll need a shower before going.  When I get back I can put that in the dryer, checking it before leaving tonight.  I sort of have to.  My travel clothes are in with it.  Spilled dish water on it today, wanted those freshened either way, after wearing them all day.

Raining, or did a bit earlier.  Cools things.  Not enough to make it humid.  Less so when the sun is down.  You know, I really am hungry.  I might push through, try to be out earlier.  I have had double meals the last few mornings but that is all I have been eating.  Later.

Needed that sleep.

.
.
Needed more.  Can only chip away at sleep deficits though.  And heat excesses which cause illness also take time to undo.  Yeah, just on the edge of that.  Going out every day for this last week, being awake and working in the heat of the day without much reprieve... I am surprised I am not bedridden.  I really am doing better.

Dishes were drained.  But they have been set back up.  While there are quite a few, I think I can finish them.  The second to last load of laundry is getting a fluff.  I may do one more very small load, or two if leaving the last dried in the dryer.  Cat litter will be reset.  Actually, I should scoop that to... loosen and dry any bad spots.  I haven't been keeping up on that all that well these last few days, for obvious reasons.  As well, there is a bit more to pack.  Most of what is left is waiting on my last shower.

The goal is to finish and be back in bed by 10:00.  Which should make a 16:00 wake, for a shower and 17:00 departure?  Well, it would if I was actually going.  You do realize this is just another story, don't you.  I couldn't drive seventeen hours, even split, in this heat. Maybe in October, or September, or in spring depending on which seems cooler but not snowy.  Was the tale convincing?  Or were there too many details, sounding false for it?

I am doing dishes and the other work tonight though.  Later.

Not today.

.
.
The vehicle is mostly loaded.  My suit cases are almost finished.  It isn't just laundry, but the fact that the day was already stretching far too long to get a good long sleep in.  Time simply slipped through my fingers.  A good effort was put in though.  I even remembered to stop my mail at the post.

I still have two loads of laundry, one drying.  I might be able to do the dishes.  I got the cat water system reset, and will probably reset litter.  After sleep.  I am overheated, plum worn down.  I can't quite just finish or simply go.  Too late, tired, with too much to do.  I'll get there.

Certainly not perfect.

.
.
Not bad though.  I ran out of time for a shower this morning.  I had one yesterday and the day before, plus will have one before leaving.  Laundry is backed up, with two loads waiting to get to the dryer.  The one in it was too big, so I halved it.  The rest of the laundry is pretty much worked.  As for dishes?  I've done much.  Not all will be done.  It is time to load some things and get to town.

So much yet to do, but it is coming to a close.  Any dishes left unfinished will be drained.  Dish water left to sit ends up competing with used diapers as to bad smell.  The rest?  Laundry all has to be dried is all.  The rest will be what it is.  Later.

Big tech in trouble.

.
.
I suspect a great deal is going wrong for them, or on many fronts.  FB, of course, is pulling up lame.  Investors talk a mean game over free speech concerns, but as globalists they ordered him to do that if it happens to be what he wanted to do doesn't matter.  The real problem is advertisements aren't paying.  When masses of activity, a majority, is bought Chinese or Nork slave clicks, when companies finally pull their head out of their nethers, it gets ugly.

It is probably getting just as ugly with deep state.  Now, deep state doesn't need clicks for adverts.  It wants American and European civilian info.  They don't give a crap what a Bangladeshi wants to buy, or finds interesting or attractive.  With so many fake accounts, and a penchant for blinding the ability to see which clicks are from where, and by whom, the deep state has ruined all it's data.  Did you hear about their recent data dump?  It wasn't just because they are afraid of prison.  It is also because the data is corrupted for their purposes.

As well, president Trump is slowly, carefully, cleaning house.  You don't just trounce through a swamp.  Gator, snakes, poison water, bogs, pitfalls, and else takes down the unaware, incautious.  He, we, have a lot of enemies in the government, media, military.  All of them, as moles, looking for the bounty on the last pro-American president since Reagan.  Deep state is trying to cover it's own but as it is transformed from a weapon against Americans and back to a tool for us.  It's being skinned alive.

Way more work than I thought.

.
.
Some of it is backlog.  Clean clothes, for example, that have to be sorted and folded to find what I need.  My word, I DO have socks.  Well, and as I sort, I am finding clothes which need washed.  Yeah.  I have three loads, smaller ones, oddball stuff, to do.  I have two loads of regular stuff cycling through as well.  I am actually impressed with how well I kept up on laundry, if I fell down on folding... considering I had mostly put laundry so far back on priorities.

While jamming on getting laundry handled, once I realized it was more than it seemed, I lost track of the dishes being refilled and drained all the hot water.  Oh well, I will get to it.  Some things can be loaded before going to town.  Bedding in case I wish to sack out, or for there, a few jackets, one for work, one for general, one for rain.  Perhaps boots as well.  The rest will wait.

I... once I realized the problem, dug in pretty good.  As soon as water heats back up... shouldn't be long... I will refill.  If still hot, I'll get a shower kicked out.  Then back to it.  While I take this break I will fold the last bit of laundry leftovers.  I'll get it done.  There is always more, especially at crunchtime.  At least it won't be throwing my exit schedule off as it has in the past.  Actually, it might make my sleep better, easing the drive.

Oh, directions!  I'll look those up before starting on the laundry.  Later.

For better and worse.

.
.
I have another hour before the alarm.  After posting this I will hit the dishes and check laundry.  The timer is more of a limit than a requirement.  If I could work straight through I would.  If I can do more, after those, I will do some packing.  I am taking a bit more clothing, so as to have two sets of painting/work clothes and then several sets of standard daily wear.  Still, packing, as a guy, is much easier.  Coordination?  A shirt goes with pants!  Clean is optional.  If I do try.  If it has stains?  It just becomes a work shirt.  Pants don't really matter, mostly.

Medicine is ready to go.  Not taking all of it.  Two double week medicine containers, portioned for each day and night, plus a separate batch in bottles.  I hope the humidity doesn't mess up too much of it.  I have to be careful. At least with my own doctor on the side, I can definitely get medicine, in a hurry, if needed.  No muss, no fuss, no two to four hour drive, or begging bureaucrats or bureaucratic doctors or their hateful flunkies, or anything.  I have to pay, but that is still better.  I actually finished getting that ready while waking.

A long rest.

.
.
Desperately needed.  I can't be sure when I  went down, save that it was after noon.  An half hour, or three hours, after is the question.  I wasn't sure when I would wake, if I thought it would be earlier.  Just a bit after 23:00, real time, currently.  A bit tired and heat sick.  I have time to clear some of that.  And, if everything works tonight and tomorrow, I will sleep through the worst of the heat, heading out into heat, but day end heat, through draws and canyons at higher elevations so cooler, plus getting less sun.  Then driving more at night until dawn and a meal.

Always take some bedding.  And I'll have my smaller pack plus a container of water.  It's harsh out there, should there be a problem.  Can't be sure about phone reception, and I couldn't walk far.  In midday heat, five miles, maybe ten, without a load.  It's a different place out there.  That is why some people have never been far from home or family.  Not an unwise notion, altogether, if with problems all it's own.  There is no escape from woe.  And certain joys can only be known through blind risk.

It is good to finally know the day and time of departure.  It is the fog of war, any war, that is the worst.  It is the unknown that saps the will, killing curiosity itself over a long enough time.  Having a plan, one which should work easily, and one which is about to begin, makes life easier.  Now just to make it happen.

Packing, a load or two of dishes and laundry, things that won't be packed in luggage but will be going collected and centralized, a shower, and?  Oh, directions.  I have the maps, I just need to figure out the fastest way.  It probably doesn't matter which way I go, road work is an automatic summer thing.  Hate it all you like.  I assume it will add five hours or more to any two to three or more state summer travel.  Avoiding it adds just as much or more time, from what I have seen.  Often there is unreported work on lesser roads, and they are already slower.  It is what it is.  A navigator would help, if she can be map trained.

Gotta spend some time waking.  Hungry, but I don't want just eggs today.  A good excuse to get to town an hour early.  A smaller breakfast today, perhaps a skillet.  Eggs, potatoes, cheese, and a few veggies if mostly for color.  Gah!  Went and made myself hungry!

I don't want to, can't, just jump into work.  I will start laundry and refresh the dishes.   They are rinsing.  I'll set a timer for two hours.  When that sounds, rotate laundry, rotate dishes finishing half to a third, get a shower, set the timer for two more hours, begin packing, and so on?  It's..the plan.  Always have a plan and be ready to dump while running and gunning when all else fails.  I just can't work straight through.  Later.

Two out of three, and change.

.
.
A bit more?  Tire rotation and vehicle cleaning, inside and out, done.  The oil check will have to wait until tomorrow.  It is arranged.  They dropped me from the list before though.  I always worry now.  Especially with no time to goof.  I also picked up a few last minute items.  Vitamins, actually should be taking two of those a day by calorie intake tables by even optimal size/weight.  A good start.  I had a good breakfast while waiting at the last... regular place in town... for as long as it lasts.

It has been partly cloudy, so cooler.  It still hit 80, and is 76 plus in here.  Ugh.  An ac nap, then last bits of work.  Packing, dishes, laundry, finalized collecting, but not much goes out until after the oil change.  Bits and pieces.  I was actually glad for the stall on the oil change.  I'm... I need rest, more rest and more time to organize.  I can sleep plenty and still have time to work now.

I get the oddest sense that I am known, somehow, and intensely disliked.  Even so, for whatever reason, I am treated exceedingly well.  I don't think fear is involved.  I... have ideas of possibilities.  It's... not just who might be suspected.  Or the secondary local group. It extends into the dis- and un- associated?  Really?  Yeah.  And they have no reason to play nice, or really play rough but actually treat in a functionally exemplary manner.  Unless I am missing something?  I don't miss things, usually... until I don't see the wall I am about to hit at speed.

Yeah.  A nap.

Could it be that the notion of a muse isn't understood.  Or is, but that is considered the wrong play?  Either still being too fresh, or fresh in the wrong way.  Probably a mix, of that and more.  It is a very small area, and they really know way too much (if they also really don't understand what they are seeing), and everybody seems to have opinions about what is none of their damned beeswax.  Hell yeah I know you watch.  *blink blink*

Later.

A bodily amuse-bouche?

.
.
The efforts of late, that is.  Even if it is wearing me down, as a mild precursor to greater efforts, it is happening in high heat, without whole-house ac, and without any hope of reprieve until I am there, and with a major drive as the final pretrial gig.  While there will be more work there, the conditions are more favorable.

I would like to make it in one toss, driving straight through if possible... however unlikely.  I won't be fit to work for a few days, after arriving, but when I recover I should be able to work well.

I couldn't stay awake long enough to open up the house.  Then again, it is only in the mid 60's out there, 75 inside... 76 with a mild rounding up.  It isn't going to be a cool one.  A cooling shower shortly?  Maybe.  I just reset dishes.  Packing luggage, unpacking the vehicle, dishes, and some laundry tonight, then to head to town by shortly after 7:00, are the goals.  Ugh.

I probably won't take off tomorrow, unless all mechanicals are completed early, then I can get packed, and then I get eight to ten down, a shower and shave, heading out into the night.  That would improve my chances of one-shotting the drive.  Driving at night, when tired, is doubly difficult.  Stimuli is quartered... need muh stimuli.  Driving at night, while fresh, is wonderful.  Then it's a matter of staying cool enough to not burn out during the day leg.

Actually, starting well before dusk, say 16:00 to 17:00 would be optimal.  Still hot, but with the sun behind.  Finding a place to squat out the vicious dawn while eating is the trick, beside handling heat in general.  Yeah.  That is the optimal run.  I may or may not be able to hit that today.  If not, then tomorrow.  Gosh I like plans.  Even if they don't result perfectly, even with hiccups, it's a start for the next beginning.  Isn't it all about new and next beginnings?

A rough go.

.
.
What is wrong?  Hmm... *squints*  Yesterday.  I cooked off too long.  Pushed it too late.  Then woke too early to do more.  I am satisfied with it, there is a cost involved.  I did clean out my cooler.  I will clean out my car and get that cleaned, perhaps.  I will make it to the appointment.  That is probably it.  Oh, perhaps set an oil change and tire rotation appointment for tomorrow?  Ugh.

I am hungry but I don't have anything easy, right, to cook.  I may root around a bit more.  No butter either.  Oh!  Eggs!  It's getting a bit bland.  Just eating fried eggs, by themselves, a bit to often.  I need... something else.  An half a potato, leftover baked, fried with the eggs, bacon, even toast.  Bacon, steak, etc., could be every meal.  The carbs, even gooder kinds, would need to be occasionals.  The limits on meats is expense and added work.  Ugh.

I also shaved.  I tried baby lotion.  Why.  Well, I am cooking my face by daring the heat.  Baby lotion was a part of a suggested regimen for that.  I also heard that one could shave with it.  And?  Jowls, yes, chin, no.  Youch.  It would have been an easy way to apply, mostly.  I hate putting stuff on as much as I hate taking medicine.  I still need to shower.

I am slowly gathering things I will be taking.  Some gifts, some items I use, tools.  It'll be more than I thought.  If it will fit easily in the back bench, including clothes.  Ugh.

My mother called yesterday.  I just got the notification this morning.  Just checking.  She sounded rather happy.  I was beginning to wonder about it all.  Frustrating days of heat during the moving process.  And she is slowing a bit.  Though I have serious talent at hitting the wrong chord at the right time, absolutely without effort or intent to make the most loving, mild, humble critter turn into a raving beast out for blood.  I... really do.  Oh, but you knew that.  *recall*

Uhm?  Eggs!  I am so hungry they will do plain.  Really, not bad, just...  Farm fresh is worth it.  Later.

Sleep was fantastic.

.
.
The Boss, and others, might be weatherized for summer work, but I am not.  Working, in daylight, even in the more moderate heat of 84 F, and I am spent quickly, get ill.  I forgot to take tea... really need to remember that.  Though, as hot as it seemed today, I doubt if it would have mattered as much as other days.

The sun sickness is nearly done.  Some episodes take longer to repair from.  Between pushing previously, beefing up working as much as I can lately, and whatever else, recovery from overdoing has been swift lately... on my scale of things.  After becoming a little less bleary eyed, I'll be getting to work.

It is down to 72.  I have shut some of the cooling down.  Any more and I won't be able to function, after today.  The shine scrapes from mishandling the sheet of plywood today isn't as bad as I had feared.  Just nicks and mild bruising, not the long peel as I had feared.  All in all, not too bad, even on the worst sides.

Today will be long.  The car has to be emptied.  Clothes and else need to be prepped and set aside.  Then all of the auto stuff, starting with cleaning.  Plus an appointment later.  What can't be done today, it is hoped, can be done tomorrow.  I am so ready, and not, to go.

At least I am doing enough, but not too much, so as to sleep before this trip.  I'm not as nervous this time either.  It hasn't been years since I've seen my mom, travelled, been to Iowa, or been away from home.  I don't have all the buildups, and I have been out, working, and doing minor sunning even.  *cough*  Within limitations.  *cough*  Yeah, I am most ready.  I just want the auto to be good.  Hmm... AAA... I should see about them again.  Later.

Almost driving.

.
.
I surprised myself, and the Boss, I think.  Definitely surprised myself.  Not killing it, saving it when I messed up, even the speed of gearing and starting from a stop.  He wasn't happy with my startup speed, but on gravel, I suggested, there are too many limits to a fast start.  So... he guided me to a side paved road, where I proved my point.

As well, I developed a method by which to train, and to create/develop shifting speed.  As well, it quantifies the take off-speed.  I had him say "red", as in the stoplight color, as often as he wants, then say "green".  Then I go.  It gives us an idea of the time it takes to gear to go.  It's better, at least now that I have improved enough, than just randomly stopping and going.  Next time he will be doing that, and the opposite, so I can practice gearing down.  That latter is an idea he came up with, if actually misinterpreting my initial idea.  Always misunderestimated, but I am used to it, and that often creates a fuller understanding for all involved when fullly explored.

He chuckled at the idea that I was helping educate myself.  I explained that it was old habit, if in a different way.  The first thing I do with women, or the last dozen, was teach them to teach me, about home related though.  What she can't change, I could get her to... mitigate through training.  Remember, if she is a right woman, the house is her's.  I didn't know the ability would transfer to driving lessons, but why not?  Oh, you thought I was joking when I used to tell you about training women to train me?  Nope, for reals.

Still pretty warm.  I was a bit sun sick from earlier.  Heat just... hurts.  I did get a shower and sleep, if not enough.  I am waiting for it to cool enough to open up, then I'll do that, crawl back into ac, and crash out until I uncrash out.

What I didn't get done was the car stuff.  Oil, tires, cleaning.  I'll try to get that tomorrow.  If not the day after.  Exactitude isn't vital, since moving is done and it is just work at the new place that is desired.  Still, I don't want to drag my feet.  Later, I'll clear the auto, pack for the trip but not load the Xt'er until after the mechanicals are sorted.  Heck yeah.  I'm getting there.

Yeah?

.
.
Yeah.  Not everything planned AND more.  How is that?   The boss stopped in.  He thought it would be swell if we got to town, purchased supplies, and started with proposed alterations to the hutch.  A screen door, several windows, and a grab through the wall set of hatches for safely pilfering eggs.  Well, and general building materials... for everything.

We actually hatched pretty good plans.  Will just have to see how it all works.  Love this stuff, when I can keep up.  It only got to 84 by the time we returned.  He had to drive his brother in.  No time to unpack.  Momma goose was none too pleased.  Truth is, it was my fault.  Not so much about time.  It slips for me, and the Boss isn't much better.  Lumbering beasts of men just reckon time differently... poorly.  It's that I realized we were running late, should have called.  I'll... right.  Next time.

By the time he returned I realized I was past done.  A driving lesson is on tonight though.  I'll shower then nap.  The ac is going.  After a body shower, it'll be golden.  Set up for duck hutch work.  The only thing I want more is sand, gravel, and flagstones(?) to create a drainage area for their pond and watering system.  Ugh.  I worry more about winter water, of all sorts.  Automation is as true for flocking as it is for free energy.  No real such things.  There is best effort, which is as good as it gets.  Can you live with the consequences?

To shower and rest.  It may well get to 88 or higher yet.  Ugh.  Later indeed.

A few bits at a time.

.
.
Oh, and yes, this morning is going colder.  It has been 54 F since it hit that much earlier. It is about 49 as the sky is lighting.  We have the Wasatch range to my east, about twenty miles over, delaying sun rises.  I am curious to see if it will drop a bit more.  I would be out already, just can't move that fast.  I have cleared the shower, so that can happen when I can.  Acid reflex from too much tea, too many peanuts, and too much stooping.  Oh well.

I keep thinking I have missed medicine.  I haven't though, not for a month or two.  It is just, between going to bed and waking up on "different" days and the heat, confusion can happen.  I have been doing excellently.  It really is a good year, even with the occasional drops.  Better yet, now that... well... Everything is off, with the plans.  But, mostly, with ways to keep things in check in the playbook and usually in operation, things are improving.

I am really hungry.  I just don't have much on hand.  I might get something while shopping.  Ugh.  Need to clear the vehicle in hopes of getting a cleaning, oil check, and tire rotation before shopping.  Then...  Hmm, might have breakfast first.  I really don't have a favorite place.  Anymore, one place is pretty much any other place to eat.  Oh well.  There is one place that seems more normal, or last time I visited.  Of course, that has been a while, since my friend was alive.  Time flies, in some ways... while taking a month to wake in a moment.

72.3!

Later.

Very much cooler.

.
.
While 73.6, and falling, doesn't seem all that cool, in dry climates it can be almost chilly. The front room is down to 64.8!  Outside is staying right at 54.  It might yet get cooler out there.  It really can, often does, drop a few degrees as or right before the sun pops.  I guess I thought, mostly, that such tales were false.  Must have something to do with wind creation, perhaps higher in the air column?  Or, I don't exactly know what all, only that it is true.  Sometimes.  As for darkness being greater?  I haven't really noticed that.

It has been a while since it cooled below 75.  I think?  It sure feels cooler.

Trash and recycling are out.  Not sure if it is a recycling day.  It is ready, just in case.  Dishes are going.  I haven't checked laundry.  I put overflow dishes in the shower, so I need to do those before showering.  Just a hit and switch to the bin I was using when the kitchen sink wasn't working.  I'd like to get in, shop, and back before trash is taken, so as to change the cat litter and get that out.  It has at least been cleaned.  I fell down on that the last few days.

Ugh.  It's a great night to work.  I simply have too much to do in too short of a time.  I'll... do what I can.  Later.

Much cooler and not.

.
.
The thermometer suggests it has only dropped to 75.4 and falling.  The front room is down to 67.6.  Outside was 54, or so.  It sure seems cooler than the reading.  Right past cool and almost to chilly.  Actually, I suspect I should shower before the cool claims my work effort.  It is good though.  Great, really.

I have a few things I wish to price check, a few things to buy, and a bunch of chores.  Trash, and maybe recycling, first.  Then setting up dishes and any remaining laundry as I pack.  Hmm, trash and dishes before the shower, just in case.  As to the Xt'er?  I'd like to clear it before heading to town, whenever that might be.  I think I can, even yet tonight. Maybe more.

75.2

I finally oiled the back doors.  That'll let the neighbors rest better while I do my night efforts.  It was rather loud, obnoxious.  Little things like that happen more frequently.  Not only do I like doing the tasks, I am enjoying the results.  I have tried to figure out other things, such as keeping that screen door from banging shut.  Between active and passive mechanics, I have limited frequency and volume of the shutting noise.  A work in progress, along with many others.

All you need to know about home ownership is that your work is never done.  Don't get into a home if you can't pace yourself.  You can't ever stop and you won't ever win.  It is a beautiful thing if you can manage.  I am over my head but getting better.  I am hoping, at least initially with a little help, to... get into the game a goodly bit more.  Knowing, of course, that pacing is primal.  Sometimes work is for it's own purposes, sometimes the other way around.

I was wrong.

It didn't matter in the short run.  The heat burned me out.  I crashed hard and fast after that last post.  I didn't see it coming until it was all I could see.  I was afraid, with the cave already, still, at 78 and the sun coming up, hotly initially, that the ac might not help all that much.  I expected a horrible sleep and a terrible wake, with a double dose of heat sickness.

The clouds, haze?  Mixed or matched, it turned into rain, while I slept.  So exhausted I heard nothing.  It was later, to the bathroom, I looked out to realize we got rain.  Must have been a good dose as the driveway was drenched, and it had been a bit.  I wasn't properly attired to check the temp.  Inside it was holding at 78.  Later, when I woke, at 18:00-18:30, the outside was down to the low 70's.  I opened the cave up, but it just isn't cooling, even with fans going.  It might just not be cooling much more out there.

Yeah, work tonight.  What had been planned for the morning.  Maybe more.  It would help if it would cool a bit!  At 77 it's just too warm to dig in.  Perhaps later.

Horrible night for cooling.

It never dropped below 78 F in here.  I was thinking I must be doing something wrong.  Nope.  It only reached the mid 60's outside.  There just wasn't enough cool out there to work with.  It might end up being partly cloudy, or hazy, if I don't think those will stay or play a role if they do stay.  It just doesn't work like that.  Unless cool comes in as a front it won't change.

The lawn was watered.  Did I miss the last watering day?  No.  Just heat.  Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday are the days for the lawn.  A couple or three waterings of the veggie side yard, very short, as needed.  Still, this is, by far, the best lawn year ever.  It wouldn't, couldn't, win a prize yet, save year over year or more first year to now.  I don't think the previous owners could afford to water their lawn.  I inherited a mess, could do almost nothing about it, initially.  It's nice to see everything green, most of it grass, and with the grass expanding aggressively.  Sure, it's plateauing, but what isn't that is not being drenched?

Getting a few things together.  Difficult to keep focus and push through in this heat.  I am hoping to unload the auto yet today, and get clothes packed.  I can't pack other kit, as I want to shower and shave several times between now and then.  This heat is making things ugly.  I'll... figure it out, always do.  I might get a shower before bed... a treat if I get dishes, unpack the Xter, and pack clothes.
