Oddities Abound

Oh, fine. I have been taking meds, checking bp and blood sugars, and really trying to be a good boy. My remunerations are slight, and actually to the negative. The last three days I have been nearly unable to control my utter and near complete exhaustion, which has compelled me to sleep. Not even my games have been able to carry me through the vast and immediate urge to go right to bed at various points. Struggle has been futile. I am hoping this improves. There is an added medicine (diabetes) and I am taking less Ritalin (until I can get my medicine schedule regularized, we have simplified the regimen to 2 med times a day, by needs, the necessary lateness of one of the medicines (diabetes) precludes a second dosing of Ritalin). I struggle, at this moment, to stay awake. After this dismissive missive, back to bed for me, again.

Not much has been happening. My plans to go fishing last weekend did not work. My friend had to do other chores, and the weather was not conducive to the activity should I have thought to go it alone (which I had). It has been relatively cold and raining often here. I have been “busy” this week, having 2 appointments, one nurse visit, and there is an attempt to schedule a visit with the cleaners before I drive to my mother’s place for a week or two. As well, trying to focus on getting ready for the visit, and not getting far in that. Oh, not to worry, it will be done and I will go, soon or late.

I did get myself together enough to make a roast beef dinner last night. There was nothing fancy, just meat and potatoes. I need to do some dishes so that I have more room and a feeling that I can make vegetables without the overhead (of another dirty pot). There really is not that much to do, mostly silver ware, a few glasses, and a roaster (a different one, now two roasters), but that have sat (and sometimes soaked) for a week now. I am sure I am supposed to do something more than just look at the dirty dishes, but for the life of me, at the moment, I cannot figure out what that something is. Oh well, it will come to me. Dang, that reminds me, I am hungry… Oh, and sleepy… You are still here? Shoo!

  1. With all of your ills, you are still planning a trip. I commend your determination.
Hope the new meds and schedule are working better by now.
Here's wishing you get the energy to do something fun soon.

Thanks for the comment at my place. You always make me smile

  2. You might be amazed what I can do, at least for a short period of time. From hours, to even a month or two, I can push everything to it's absolute maximum (considering my shape, though that does improve with exertion). So, even several weeks of travel, sun, and perhaps a few days of exceptional exertion, I have no difficulty planning for.

If I could push it for longer times, and perhaps singularly (self motivated), I might end by ruling the world or at least making a good stab at it. *grins*

But darn it, I want to prove I am alive and get some experiences in my mind before I really cannot do it.

I have surprised a few people with my strength, and to some extent, stamina. There is nothing like the look on the face of someone who just watched me show them how powerful I really still am. There is fear in there, sometimes. I don't understand that, makes me wonder if they hadn't considered, at some level, doing me harm, then realized they would have lost hard. Why else the fear?
