No, my day and life is moving along. I am doing the little chores, and enjoying the work actually. This is not about me, oddly. (/snark) From this blog to that, from this email to that, I am seeing signs that more and more people are realizing we are in serious trouble economically and serious jeopardy civilly. Social deterioration is a foregone conclusion. But the lapses in government and financial surety are profoundly evident wherever one looks. Is it time to be looking for cover? Is it too late?
I do not know anything with any certainty. I do believe the clock is not just ticking, it is timing down. I do not what happens when the clock stops ticking. I do know most people will be terribly surprised. I am not speaking of us, typical citizens. I am talking about the elites. Worse than us, they really have no more idea of what is happening, when it will happen, what to do when it happens, or how to stop it. And more, they appear more like a bunch of school kids trying to draw cartoonish solutions to things they simply never evolved to a place or mind capactiy to solve. What is worse is the notion that they can buy or bribe their way to a better portion when it happens. The people they are trying to bribe are in more trouble than any one else. It is like trying to pay the reaper for enough time for one more cigarrete or something. It simply will not work.
How bad it gets and how fast it gets there depends upon where you live. Who you really know around where you live. What skills or ability you have and can offer. And to some extent what you have that could be useful to those around you. Being a senator might get you shot on sight. Having been a CEO of a major banking interest might get you tarred and feathered. Hiding will only work for just so long. If you live in a city, the police are going to be looking after their own. Out a bit further, in decent society, there is a chance at some semblance of normalcy. In the country you risk being isolated and an easy mark.
If that fails, then we risk socialist totalinarianism or worse. If those in power can convince the military and civilian law enforcement to throw in their lot with them, that is indeed what we face. These are not the right people to be in power at this time. I would argue they are the wrong people at any time.
I am seeing the signs everywhere. And to be honest, not just on the web. I am seeing signs of it among people I have met in real life. People know a major shift, change, down grade to their way of living is just around the corner. Some are living it up, most are changing everything from what is on their menu to how they view others and on into defensive or survival needs.
Ah, maybe it will all blow over. Perhaps it is all just another day which will be followed by another and so on. Maybe we do have years before it hits. I simply do not know. What I do know is I am trying to figure out how to prepare as I may. I am planning, considering, loading, and looking. That and... waiting. Time sure stretches out in front of me when I am in this mindset. Every moment is precious when I am not sure when all that I have known will end.
On the good side, I did do a large part of my list today. That is all I have and it is enough for the moment. I should sleep well, and very possibly wake for another day of work. Oh, and I will pray. But what was it Christ prayed... Ah, yes... Something about if this cup may be passed from Me, let it be so. But only if it be Your will, not My will, but Your will. And, He did drink of that cup, deeper than any of us will ever be able to know. I pray no more and no less. And, if it is my turn, I too will drink of that cup.

Whether we are caught up or whether we are swept away by the wrath of the Dragon, we will end up in this blessed place.

ReplyDeleteBy that book, the Dragon comes twice, which tosses in some confusion. Though it would seem that when Christ returns, He wins. When He wins, He casts the Dragon into the pit for a thousand years while He rules. After the thousand years, the Dragon returns for a final defeat. Uhrm, I believe.
ReplyDeleteSome odd things are, does He rule in perfected flesh, are those who remain perfected, how all that works is... not straight. And, it is prophecy. Sometimes that is literal, as Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem and a number of other things. Many things are not literal. Or, not as we understand literal.
But it is a start. I still have this nagging notion that what Jesus was suggesting we known nothing about was our resurrection itself, and what that life would be like. Not that it will knock me off track or something, and one (minor) belief or another is not vital for salvation (though considering His and the bibles verses closely probably is, generally).

Oh, Revelation is hard to debate, only discuss. My feeling right now is that the strict "sequence" that a once-through reading may suggest is more part of a hidden poetic pattern than a strict order of progression. What leads me down that path is the appearance of three sets of seven. This fascination with the numbers three and seven as pertaining to God's matters is a strongly recurring theme throughout the Bible. This poetic license leads me to my theory about three perspectives on one sequence of events, or three layers, each showing something different about the events and not necessarily one after the other (for example in my theory the seven seals may not *necessarily* be temporally set before the the seven trumpets, given the timelessness of eternity in heaven.) And the intermission scenes between the sets of seven may not be temporally set in a particular order either. For example the vision of the dragon and the woman appears to encompass a very large part of the history of Israel, and not necessarily represent a sequence to occur in the end times. It serves to illustrate a number of important ideas and foretell an unprecendented level of divine intervention.
ReplyDeleteYes, I can easily imagine the various visions and the lack of time (our understanding) sequence relating to the reading sequence. Very good answers indeed. I see the poetic, and myself have a musical sense to it as well. I see bits, then refrain, and on with it for a while, and then refrain, and so on. I had not quite linked that with time progression but that makes even better sense.
ReplyDeleteBeyond, my idea about time is that time is less like a real cube, encompassing all, in which everything fits, but more like a rectangular box. And God is in it and outside of it. We see passage of time in a linear manner (say length). The reality (God) is that there is the length of time (progression), the width of time (all that happens at any given point along the progression of time which we also cannot possibly see), and then viewing the rectangular box from the outside. Viewed from the outside, it is merely what is. All of it at once, and God does know that.
I am sure the thought of such a thing by men who delve into time, space, and such is terrifying. That anything that could know all of that... It is too much. Their mind rejects God out of hand as He is beyond their reason. He encompasses some of their fears. Sort of the way the first physicists must have felt when they realized gravity could stop, only far greater. My notion indicates that there is more than just time. Or, that time, like volume, is contained by what isn't, or what isn't time, or what isn't space. A part of God, I think, or perhaps something else he created.
