I had hoped to go to town yesterday. It was simply too hot. Even right here, in the cave, with the ac going and fans moving that around, it was simply too hot. Today is the same. The electric thermometer read 86 F, outside, 75 inside. First, that seems to be a little low on the inside read, just by feel. Of course, there are other variables involved, and subjective versus objective sensations. Still... I'm betting money it's warmer than the reading, for one reason or another. Just too hot.
I did get a good long shower in. Braided my hair so it is up off my back and neck. And, pretty much, with no place to go and no need to dress right away, air dried like a thankful hound. All ready, pretty much, in case someone visits at this point. Too tired for a bath, but I can still get some of that olive oil, salt, and essence bath goo into play. It really does help. Not sure how it might help, or hurt, in humid regions. But in dry areas, even for guys, it really helps. If you use liquid castile soap, that really dries out the skin too. I use it because it is cheaper and less wasteful, but it is terribly drying. I've started adding a bit of olive oil to that soap and it has helped with that too. Right now I'm adding a third soap, water, and olive oil. I may switch that up to 1/2 soap to an half consisting of 2/3rds olive oil and 1/3rd water. Have to shake it before use, but that's no biggy. Beats extremely dried out hands.
Not much else is going to happen today. It is simply too hot. This may well be how the rest of summer is. Possibly worse, hotter. I won't complain too much. Summer, so far, for the most part, has been fairly moderate. It simply seems as if summer is hitting peak, and probably going to stay that way until fall. Later.
