Nothing in particular going forward. Cooking the chili has been about it for doing. My neighbor actually called me, to check in. He asked if I had noticed that branches had been cleared, which I had. He wondered if I had heard him and his boys taking out the litter stuff. Nope, I suggested honestly. When I sleep, and that has been very erratic lately, I sleep hard. If I had heard them I would have gone out and joined in. They are going to be gone for a few days. Still, I offered chili for when they get back. It's in the fridge, and should last easily. The thing with meat, or anything you cook, is that when you spice it and chill it you are not just flavoring it (cooking technique can change the taste you know) you are preserving it.
The chili has been doing a fine job at what rumor has it to do, for me. And I am enjoying the food. The next meal I hope to make is corned beef. I'll wait until the neighbors are back for that for sure. I even have the potatoes and cabbage ready for that. It's a weird food, not my favorite, but fun to do once in a great while anyway.
Other than shopping late at night, escaping the dungeon has not occurred as often or well as hoped. I am still pushing for it, it's still a hot button item for me. I want/need a haircut. Oh, and I was fearing I was late for another level of the KoC. I am not. I may have botched some things but I am not late for that. I need to contact some people there, and try and work somethings out. Damn but it's rude being a cripple. Especially with seven good months that ended up being mostly just a tease. Still, I'll keep trying.
Hmm, another bowl of chili? Excuse me! Why, sure! :)
Oh, the wayback process started me thinking of some other songs from various eras. I'll put a post together about those later. Youtube is amazing. Later.
Chili can be weirdly addictive.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely. I did mix it up with sour cream occasionally and cheese more often but it wasn't needed. I don't like most people's chili though. Too much liquid. Mine is mostly beans, meat, and tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteOh, and beside the heat, cumin is required. While it isn't my favorite spice, it adds just a touch of something. I call it the hunger spice, it adds to my hunger, so there is that. It's why so many Mexican dishes leave you hungry shortly after eating, I think. With Chinese food it is the fast carb deal with white rice.
