Very odd dreams. Pleasing, mostly, if not easily.
----------------
In the first one I died. I don't remember how, and at that point it really didn't matter. Death, from an earthly perspective, is anything from a joy to some foolish enemies... at least my enemies, to a sadness for those rare family and friends who know I still exist and have some small feelings for me. Well, and depending how easy or hard the death, perhaps a cause for fear for those with little or no faith.
But I was comfortable with all. There were some number of us new arrivals. It was, if not literally, something like the locker room to heaven. We were gearing up to take the field. Instead of changing clothes and putting on gear, we were being stripped of what sinfulness remained. I... know... but even so I was surprised how much remained! Sinful, terribly, even now? I... believe the dream, if sadly.
The sins were being removed, leaving as shadows. A darkness from within which would darken me, as an inverse spotlight as it left, getting larger and lightening to a degree, then moving off me as it's center, then escaping away. Sin after sin until nothing but light remained. Then I became as a spotlight, but from inside to outside. I became the source of light.
I saw others struggling. Attempting to retain the shadow, sin. I began counseling. Let go, I suggested. What you are trying to retain isn't a part of you, it is death... not a final form of it but a permanent form of it. Let go. Some did, slowly at first. Others did not. They were taken by the shadows. They would try to remain, but would weary and lose their grip. A forever death awaited them. I did what I could for whom I could until it was my time to enter heaven. I didn't look back, wondering if looking back would have been damnation, as with Lott's wife. Wouldn't risk it.
----------------
In the next dream, I was in a tower. Imagine the Tower of Pisa, but hollowed out and not leaning. Then given a sculpted sloping floor, so as to walk up or down at a gentle slope. The sculpting was as the sides of a brook. In the center was a small gurgling stream going down.
The building was a Catholic library. All books which were considered canon were there. Both vocational and lay were allowed. As I strolled up, I was amazed at the types of priestly, nun, and monk garb among the vocational set. Or how many women were there. Women.
I don't care if some men find themselves dealing with female cops, nurses, young or old women, or in a holy place... flirting happens. God... made the rules. I just suffer them, mostly gladly. As I was stumbling through... the flowers, I came upon a... mess? I couldn't tell, immediately, what was happening.
Blood, all over. No one was screaming. I don't deal with screaming well, the rest I can handle. A woman, young, had fallen, was half in, half out, of the water. Young, a teen, late teen. Then I noticed the baby, a preemie... is that what they are called when they arrive too young? The baby was still attached by umbilical cord.
I gently collected the two, then took them to a nearby bench, laying them there. A quick prayer over them. Then a request that medical be called. We were rather high up, so I again collected the mother and child and worked my way down. That was all I remember of this part, but had another portion of the dream later.
----------------
After coddling the child and carrying the two on down, I found a bench for them, set them there near the entrance, and continued prayer. A woman said something snide. At first I didn't understand. Ah, no wedding ring on the young woman. I called the woman over, explained that I am a bastard. But told her she was wrong anyway. I saw, in my mind this woman's wedding ring.
I "saw" it slip off as she fainted. I told the woman where to retrieve it and sent her to do so. She did. I don't remember her returning it, only "seeing" her find it, feeling the sadness from her earlier barbed words. A prayer of forgiveness said over the find. Her heart was good, the forgiveness requested was for more, right to the occasional hardness of her heart. Oh, well, I said "amen" with her. I need that too. I... think she heard me. I should be more cautious, for now. Most of you aren't ready to understand all.
I like your dream take on releasing the remaining sins before moving on. Makes sense that we have more shadows in us than we know or acknowledge.
ReplyDeleteThe detail in both dreams is fascinating.
They were good dreams, pretty much as accurate as I can remember. Actually some details were omitted for brevity, or forgotten while writing.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you brought up the shadows. I have been thinking about those. I have come to the conclusion that these were uncommitted sins, but were either awaiting opportunity or being just resisted, not fully removed from the heart or will.
I really do love my dreams sometimes. Not always easy, but detailed, interesting. Oh, the stream was holy water with a mild rose scent, by the way. The details don't all fit, or aren't all recalled while rushing to put as much down as possible, accurately.
