Leaning into changing my schedule, or anything really, doesn't work. So
I was just hanging on to my meager gains. For nearly a week, I seemed
stuck at going to bed around 14:00~15:00, if waking a bit later every few
days. Needed the extra sleep, as initially I was only getting about six
hours of sleep. Had to make up for that, well, and needed more sleep.
Yesterday I was able to stay awake until nearly 17:00, perhaps ten minutes
off. Then, as well, was able to sleep until ten to one. When
pushing time, I don't seem to be able to get enough sleep. Eight hours
doesn't seem bad, but often I really need more like ten to twelve.
Which... is how I lose time. and my schedule gets off.
If I could tell, one night from another, whether I would need more or less
sleep, I could attempt to alter my bedtime, make it earlier. But I just
never know. And, it isn't really a choice. Though, sometimes, I
just can't sleep earlier. Trapped in a body that does as it will, in
spite of wisdom or will or anything else. And, I can't blame it... it is
alive well past the grave it should be in. It does every bit as well as
it can. Imagine driving a car which shouldn't still work. Can you
hate it when it won't start on a winter day, or coughs and sputters on it's
merry way to the junk yard, never being allowed to die and go there
though? I can't hate the animal part of me. It has been as
faithful as an old hound, more so. Endured much, and still...
tries.
Beside the patties, I did fry up the burger... about three to four pounds,
save two more patties. Adding plenty of butter to it, about a quarter of
a pound. Nice. It was so easy to cook the whole batch on the
griddle, so quickly, with crisp portions, and through to done. I had a
few bites of that, too.
I found a roast. Cooked. It smelled good, so I tried it. It
didn't taste off, just old. So I... didn't eat much of that, tossing
most of it and the rest that remained. All good, I have another roast to
put in the oven, probably tonight. And, tomorrow, bacon and eggs.
Though I may clean the griddle tonight while I work on the roast. I have
been doing pretty good with the griddle. Keeping it clean, usually right
after cooking. Though, sometimes, I'm just too tired. Still, the
next day, on rare occasions, is the time it does get cleaned and reset.
I figured something out a while back. When having clogged nasals, and
some other flu/cold symptoms... mostly on the lighter side... I added vix to
the diffuser. Which is just a little tea candle holder with a bowl on
top of the flame into which water and essences go... lemon, gardenia, I have
at least a dozen choices, though the citrus doesn't do well, can't smell it,
so I stick with florals.
Anyway, while the vix worked, it didn't work in the way I had hoped. It
didn't add any vix to the air. I think that takes a humidifier. A
different setup. But, it did preserve the water in the bowl, and
dispersed the various scents much better. Made it so that the essence
oils work for days, not a single or maybe two goes. Essences are
somewhat expensive.
Anyway, I decided to try a different oil. Since vix is sort of messy to
work with. This time I added just a drop of olive oil on top.
And? And it works perfectly well. My guess is any cooking oil,
that would float on the water, would work as a dispersive agent very
well. Olive, coconut, and if you aren't eating it, seed oils or other
types. Though the coconut might be messy to work with in temps where it
would solidify between uses.
Today? Who knows. A bit of a headache at waking. It
remains. I'll leave it alone, see if it goes away on it's own... if I
doubt it. When pushing my schedule, even bit by bit, these things
happen. Though, I will admit, painkillers work on these. Even the
humble aspirin. I just like to see if it will pass on it's own, which it
usually does.
Not perfect, but not bad. I am trying, and getting back into a
groove. I'll just have to see how things play out. It is
warming. Staying in the 70s down here, through the night. If
getting, still, down into the 40s and 50s outside. With some to much
cloudcover during the day. I think it got to 76 or 77, at least,
yesterday, then began spinning down quickly as a storm moved through. No
more rain yesterday, or the day before? I think so. But storms
moving through even so. Not sure if rain is over, or this is just a
break. Depends on whether El Nino is as big as they suspect it might
be. If it is, rain is in the forecast for the next month, or
three. I'm not... seeing... things. Save that I realize cold is
still on the way, in the grander scheme of things. To an ice age, or
mini one? Maybe, if probably not quite in my lifetime (assuming I live
another thirty years). But, colder, as a general trend, certainly.
It comes.
Hate me, for seeing. Just... understand, it's not something one would want. I'd rather just sleep the long sleep. It's... easier. But, that is not what God put before me. Right or wrong. Though, I don't openly share. If you read here, you probably are breaking in to look. That... will not serve you well. Less so if what I suggest is true. *rictus grin*
Well... on to some gaming. Probably resetting kefir. I fed Sassy, and got her litter sorted. I'll refresh her water later. Yes, I suppose. Getting better at the game, but keep missing things. Just playing it, on the easiest setting, time and again, until I get my aim down. The only way to get good and aiming is to turn off certain game mechanics which "help" with aiming, and increase the response speed. But, to be honest, the whole schtick to this game is that they have made aiming complete garbage.
As with any game, find out what the schtick is, the forced difficulty, and how best to overcome that. In this game, if you can learn to snap aim, quickly... learn the distance that you need... so whether to take that shot or whether to back off and take the shot from a bit further away, is a large part of the trick. As well, though, is using your "charge". Getting them to be bait, giving you even more time to aim. Risks, rewards. Creepy, in a way, but... if it increases survivability of both of you, well, have to do what is required at times.
