Sleep cycles are simply not level.

.
.
Like a rollercoaster.  Awake for three to ten, down for four to twelve, up for six, down for eight.  I have been using alarm clocks to sort things, but that just isn't working.  I have five times, on my various clocks, available.  I have been using three of those.  To absolutely no good.  I hear them, but wake up shaky as a baby, with no strength to wake.  And sometimes taking a cycle or two to sort out how to just turn them off, knowing there is no way I will wake up.

Three alarms this afternoon.  In truth, I turned two off, then realized the third had no chance so turned it off.  That was a 16:00 alarm, it was 19:00 when I am finally, barely, crawled out of bed.  An half hour later and I'm almost thinking of going on back to bed?

I... may cut meds.  I should check blood pressure.  And start tracking it regularly.  Keep the cuff here, where it might be remembered, used.  I am starting to track blood sugar again.  It's... strange.  I honestly think tracking it helps keep it lower?  Sounds strange, but yes, I think so.  Same with bp too.  It gives the mind something solid to work with, and the mind can be as important as anything else with regard to disease, illness, wounds.

Some body parts are improving.  Flab on the arms is diminishing.  Legs?  To be honest, I think fat there is still coming off, but too, water weight will collect there, so the loose skin is aggravated in the area, so isn't going to go until I lose a bit more fat and control fluid a bit better, for a longer stretch of time.  No pun intended.

The belly?  It's... what it is.  Water retention is an issue there, too.  Fluid may fill my torso, or my legs to my feet, first.  Does it depend on the particular cause?  Or simply which area is more immediately able to take the fluid?  I just can't be certain.  But, the belly has a lot of loose skin.  The collagen is softening the skin, there, though.

Extended mild fasting may be helping, and intermittent fasting as well.  Eating... consuming anyway, six hundred calories or fewer a day, and mostly just in four hour out of the twenty four hours of the day is helping... reduce, tighten, tone.  It's a slow process.  And, as with the legs, due to water retention, it's a bit of a struggle.

I am looking for ways to help.  Compression helps.  One group of people who go through this, know this very well, is mothers who just gave birth.  So, I... am seeing what they like, what works.  I guess I... never thought of that.  Until I ran into a cross-reference.  That... sure gave me a new appreciation for things.  That's the truth.  Look, I deserve this.  I ate wrongly for decades, if a major health issue was being ignored by medical... so I wasn't on anything like a level playing field either.  But, still.  To have this sort of belly, for doing a familial, social, moral good?  Doesn't seem fair.  Do... thank your mother, on Mother's Day.  And that is just the physical, some of the outward signs, of the trauma.

Anyway, things are improving.  Other than sleep being totally whack.  Oh, and yes.  I turned the furnace back on, when closing up shop.  And it is staying warm in here.  But the sun is almost never out!  It's a dark spring.  When I notice the sun out, I try to drink some in.  Hoping to get days and nights ordered by doing so, but it's so rare, and usually not a whole day thing?  Ugh.

Later.

  1. When hospitalized, they took 5 gal of fluid out of my abdomen over 3 sessions. First one: 1.5 gal, "rules" (they'd had someone pass out from removing too much at once). 2nd one: my body didn't like the sudden loss of 2.3 gal (18.7 pounds), torso hurt. 3rd one: 1.2 gal just prior to going home. Haven't had anything drained since (2 yrs). My brother is bad off, has to go in to get "drained" at least once a month.

  2. I am technically taking two 40 mg furosemide a day. But, if things get too off keel I'll take up to five a day, for several days in a row. Compression socks/hose help too. Well, and staying pretty carnivore helps.

I am going to see what consuming slightly to a lot less salt might do. Still, I have to have sodium. And electrolytes. But the right sort of sodium isn't the same as salt, necessarily. Ugh.

The things one has to figure out, just to live, sometimes. At least some of us have what it takes to keep up. Mostly.

  3. "40 mg furosemide" once a day, that was my dose, off it now. If that Belly gets to rock hard stage, get it drained, please. Keeping all that fluid is not good. Get rid of it, it is doing you no good. Bro is with the Va. they drain.

  4. That's not how it works for me. I will get some in the torso, but then it will go to the legs and feet. Then, when those are absolutely huge, then it will begin in the torso again.

I've peed out... 15 liters, in a day? Or so. Maybe more. Several days in a row. Still having some trouble, but it's light. And just remembering to take the medicine, and wear compression socks, takes care of it, mostly, but certainly over a week if I get a bit behind.

It's beastly having to work at just staying alive, when I am so very tired all the time. Ugh.
