A pretty good sleep.

.
.
It got to, at least, 92 outside.  I went down at around 14:30, after not sleeping yesterday or last night?  give or take, right?  Anyway.  I couldn't get right to bed.  Too... hot, tired, and bothered, initially.  But not from in here, but carrying the dose of that I got from being out there, and the bit of effort.  Doesn't take much these days, just... I know.  But it sticks with me until I can ease out of it.

All good.  It will help me keep my days in line, I am hoping.  I just woke here at 23:30, give or take a decade of minutes.  It was 81 upstairs, near my bed, 79 in the main room and up a bit higher.  But I was comfortable.  I'll tell you, eating true carnivore means heat doesn't get me quite as severely as it has for most of my ill adult life.

I was very comfortable at waking, and didn't have sweaty fevered sleep, as I would expect at 73 or above.  The higher the temp, the worse.  I would normally expect severe headaches, nausea, and a host of other bad effects from sleeping at even 76, though sometimes as low as 73.  And I, historically, shouldn't have even been able to sleep at 81 up there.  Fan or no.

The downstairs was closed up.  But, strangely, is 71 to 75, hotter near the front of the house.  I opened everything up, fans are a given at this time of year... windows open or shut.  It is 62 outside... a thirty point drop.  I will have to, eventually, turn the ac on.  But not yet.  One of the benefits of an 1880 stone house main, though even the front and back additions are of the heavier sort of construction they haven't made since... the 30's?  Slat construction.  So, thick, and slightly heat resistant themselves.

I did try to make the steak.  Did cook it.  But lost track and so overcooked it that it was inedible.  Oh well.  At least it was only half.  Still pricey, but... only half the waste of a whole steak.  Take what you can get.  I was thinking about fasting today, and for several days.  But I have half a steak left in the fridge, and won't waste on top of waste.  So I will have that today.  THEN begin a two or three day fast.

Well, I do have a single fatted coffee fasting.  As well, I have tea, waters, vitamins, minerals, and for shorter runs even medicine.  With blood sugar 160 fasting today, my lowest fasting AND nominal read since coming below the 300's the 19th.  So... I'm good with that.  Being even mostly carnivore, edging down with SAD (standard American diet) as I reenter carnivore, then hitting carnivore solidly, my blood sugar falls in line very quickly.

Once you get your body fat adapted, and keep stabbing that way, and that way, and that way.  Even falling off the wagon, or needing to abandon it per necessities from time to time?  The body simply becomes much more ready to return to ketosis.  Though, this is from years of attempts at keto, then months in full carnivore, and only a three month semi-vacation from it.  Don't expect that after a few weeks.  Or even a few months.

Get into ketosis a few months, up to six months, at a time, a half dozen times over a few years, then your body will be ready to go back to ketosis as fast as it can.  Add in intermittent fasting, and that will increase the return rate.  It isn't even brutal, so far.  I am ready for longer fasting, if not quite extended fasting... yet.
-----------

For my first years of trying keto, I was beginning to think the whole thing was a hoax.  Then I realized my addiction to carbs was such that I would get my carbs under control, then slowly lose my way.  Adding more, and more, and more carbs in until I was out of range for ketosis.  It was a brutal battle, for years.  Until I heard about carnivore.

Though, initially, I thought carnivore was too expensive.  And, it can be.  But, for a bit, you can eat rich.  It'll draw you down.  But, once you get fully onto carnivore, you can learn what to use, how to use it, and how to live much more plainly, simply.  The toxins in your fat, that come out, are the worst.  Those will make you think that carnivore is bad, not for you, or too hard.  And... it might be.  Which is why I now suggest people get a tox panel, and heavy metals panel.

Those might even kill some people.  Didn't kill me, but I suffered for months.  And may suffer again, as I get back into it.  So, I am hoping to get a panel of each, and work on detoxing if needed, if also while on the diet.  Ugh.  I still have forty pounds to go, giver or take ten.  Bleh.
-----------

Well... all good.  I have the coffee brewing, and the griddle heating for the steak.  I'll get medicine in, as I'm drinking water.  Just a wee thirsty this morning, but not a desiccated husk.  Given how warm it was while sleeping I'll gladly take being a bit thirsty over the old ways.  Good evening, night, morning.  Later.
