I am attempting to reboot my system. I am wondering if my energy and waking difficulties can be mollified by staying awake a full day and a half. I have tried this before, and it seems to have been somewhat successful, though I cannot be sure. I am blogging it this time. I am thinking it will allow me to reset my days and nights.
I will fix some coffee shortly. I am about at the end of normal energy, so a boost is in order. It is too early for medicine, though even the booster among those has not been doing an effective job, or at least not as effective. I am aware but I am unable to mobilize to a greater degree, or wake up easily or on a schedule.
It is sort of strange to be doing this. It took me about 15 years to finally be able to sleep regularly. My last fiancée helped, somehow. Maybe it was her cycle of sleep, work, and active time that I just grabbed hold of somewhere in the back of my mind. Then again, maybe I just aged enough that my biology made a switch. Maybe her nagging helped. I am uncertain of the point. Now I cannot usually stay awake more than a few days, no matter how hard I have tried. Though a day and a half is still doable, without too much work. I do not usually break my sleep habit, but sometimes change is necessary.
At least this time I will have a record of the event and the following days. I will be able to see if my cycle resets, my mornings become easier, and my sleep becomes deeper. My goal is to be back in action enough to get up around 7:30 am regularly again, to go to church Sunday morning, and then hike either Sunday or Monday. I would also like to go in to the rock wall Monday and get that situated and begin my climbing career, though that is not as difficult, as it is an afternoon event.
I just looked at my finances. I have not been paying close enough attention. I am very nearly broke. I will have to pay a small fee for savings and checking going so low. I have about $20 in my pocket and a full tank of gas. I could probably rummage up a few more dollars, but that is it until the 1st. Actually only until next Friday, so it is not so bad, so long as no bills come in. Really, I should not be in this situation. I usually am better than this and I receive a decent income. I am doing many things and my mother ended up being a bit expensive this time. Still, for shame. Bah, it has been a fun month. Though next month, I will be saving like mad. I want a little bit of a safety net before (and after) my next big purchase probably in August, maybe September.
Hmmm, French press coffee is sounding mighty nice.
Sleep irregularities... I know them well, although much improved lately. I still do an occasional all-nighter, and always appreciate the coffee. Good luck with getting re-regulated.
ReplyDeletep.s. the money thing? Sounded like worthwhile spending that made you happy. Not a bad thing.
ReplyDeleteYea... about that all nighter. I tripped and fell asleep. I fell asleep around 7:00 am and woke around 9:00 am but didn’t finally arise until 1:00 pm even if I was just lollygagging. I was getting a major headache, with those a few painkillers and a pillow is all that works sometimes. But mostly, I just ran out of gas a little faster than I had anticipated. I’ll have to see if it was enough, though usually it isn’t. As you probably know.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't (all) wasted money, that is true. *chuckles* I have some things set up complete, a few technical needs covered, and my Mom needs a little appreciation once in a while. Every lady does, and where she is in life, any man with a few dollars and some elbow grease fits the bill! *laughs* But her sons and her man top the list for sure. She is quite a vamp when it comes to money and work, but pays well in food and care.
You leave in Iowa, right? Could be worse, you could be in a place like Northern Virginia where a good apartment starts at $1,200 ;) Around here, a good mortgage payment is around $2,000-$2,500 a month if you want your kids to grow up outside of the more ghettoish areas.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but my duplex and standard dues are right at $1000, so it's not that much better here (It is a bit cheaper in my area as it is far from the University, most houses are $1200-$2000 rent, even many apartments I believe). As well, my the neighborhood is taking a dive. I would like to stay here two more years, but... I'll just have to see, if the good neighbors go, I go. Houses of any worth (worth merely meaning no large immediate repairs to structure and appearances, though probably dated and worn) here start at $150,000 for a ranch two bedroom, 1 bath, and starter yard, AND in a decent neighborhood (I will never buy a ranch, I'll camp first). A decent family house (three or four bedrooms, two baths, garage, decent yard, and basement) doesn't start at less than $250,000 from what I have seen. Those houses would go fast too. Add $50,000 to either if you had little time to shop.
ReplyDeleteThough, in a lesser town, far far away (different county and not near other bigger cities, Darth Vader, or the Federation) I could probably pick up a very fine house for $75,000. In the proper towns (the ones which haven't sold to corporate interests and flooded the town with Chicago Project rejects and legal and illegal immigrants to work in junk factories, such as Storm Lake, Waterloo, and Fort Dodge to name a few) have pretty good neighborhoods wherever one lives in that price of a house.
Then again, even should I have the money, I do not think I would buy in this city currently. They are in the process of importing a lot of "bad elements". Housing prices are going to crash when people drive to that $200k house and see neighbors who are riding low in their cars, drinking fortys out in the open and in their yards, never seeming to go to work, and with a dozen unsupervised kids running around. I almost feel sorry for the homeowners, but then, not. They could and did vote. If they want diversity let them eat cake, until they choke on it.
