It's pretty rare that I drink much these days. Yesterday, however, I let it slide. I didn't get too into the sip, just kept it steady for a bit. Anymore, if I have a drink, it's just something on the rocks, with a two a day limit, and rare at that. Well, if you aren't in drinking shape, even a few over the limit, even well paced, can make the morning just a bit rough. The part of might be that I sampled rum. My old friend liked that stuff, and I have some for when I eventually visit his grave. A tipple for each of us. Now, I only had one, but that is sort of different stuff. He drinks the clear stuff, so it wasn't sugary or such. Anyway, I'm in recovery mode, and slept in, if that seems to be happening with or without a sip. Stress and still healing.

I heard of another fellow who put his hand in a snowblower auger to clear. His machine was off, if the auger was still running. My machine was still running. He did lose a finger. So, yeah. Lucky, I heard mentioned. I had to laugh. The one eared, one eyed, three legged dog sort of lucky? In some ways I really am, but only when I am really not? Something like that. The skin on the tip of that finger is peeling, just down to new skin, nothing too savage. Still swollen, often get pins and needles sensations through there, I suppose as it heals inside. It was crushed, not bruised, not dinged, but crushed.
A bit more snow last night. I don't know if it is enough to bother shoveling. And it is cooler, I think, than usual. I looked to be around 10 F, with the sun up. Though that doesn't always make a difference, especially if it cleared last night. It is sort of good to see the sun, especially since the cold isn't a bother to me. I'd rather see the sun and be chillier than have it warmer and dark, at least more often than not. Sometimes that cold seeps into the bones and even just at or above freezing is a luxury. I suppose if we hit truly bone shattering cold hard winter, and I desperately need a break, Not even a day's drive south would see me to better days. A few days in the relative warmth, even probably still here in Utah but definitely another state southward, and I'll be ready to head back. Though if I needed a break, competition would be fierce for places to stay.
I'll make a jab at getting to town today. The list remains, I'd really like more milk, and some other things. Plus, just to get out. It's a good thing. Later.
