I did get out. Sure, I couldn't get everything I wanted, do everything I wanted, but I could get some food. I wasn't sure if a suitable restaurant would be open but I knew I could at least get some groceries. So out I went.
As I was driving through town, I noticed one of the previously 24-hour restaurants was closed for the night. That didn't bode well. There was, after that, other than McDonald which I have sworn off, nothing else that I could think that might be open. The economy, stupid. As luck would have it, they were open. And, for their size, moderately busy. Denny's.
I wasn't sure if the hunger I had... have... was more illusory or quite real. Eyes, stomach, it happens. Still, I ordered with my eyes. A large omelet meal and a t-bone and eggs meal. HUNGRY. Or... so I was thinking? I started in. I ripped through the first meal with ease. Unfortunately, at least gastronomically, I became engaged in a conversation.
A younger man beside me liked the cut of my order jib and said so. Well, yeah. This is Doom, not some fly by... Wait. Anyway. Yeah. Eventually we discussed a number of topics. I still, mostly, finished both entrees, and probably, without the discussion, could have polished off a third. Seriously. HUNGRY. Still a bit hungry. Will eat more later. Lots more, for the next several days. My corpse is trying to build. I am working it, but it needs a lot of a lot of food. Yeah, true.
I paid for his meal. Can't... remember his name. I will know him if I see him again, thought probably won't. ARK... act, random kindness. I don't get the chance often. Man, woman, child, I do when I can because when I do what I really do... cosmic or mundane... It's good to be kind, it just isn't always the option available or how things have to happen.
On to shopping. Cat litter... always cat litter. Milk, and some regular foods. Cheese is so much cheaper by the block... just grind yourself. Yes, a bit of work, but well worth it. At least with better cheeses. Middle priced or better, or just skip it. All save kraft, for preshredded, to me, aren't worth the money. But still, at such a premium. Oh, and cat treats too, so I can cut down on feeding. Dry food on demand, one can of cat food, or two if I don't have treats. I know. But they aren't just house animals. We have become friends.
I also bought houseshoes, slipons. They last a year, maybe two if I go full-on Scotch. :p I have learned to control odor. I have tried expensive to cheap and all between. It just... doesn't matter. They all begin to stink without a lot of care, sometimes with it. Two pair minimum, so as to change them out every other day... give or take. Bomb them with foot powder, spray them with anti-bacterial and anti-fungi once or twice a week, and pray. Well, and do that to my feet after every shower/bath... or every other. All give and take. More maintenance, unless you come down with something. Then it's feet, socks, and shoes, bombed and sprayed, showering or bathing daily, for two to six weeks, until... until you get back to maintenance from exhaustion. Bleh.
Well, not a bad thing. Later.
