Not much more, or yet. I did get the last window sanded. I am ready to paint at will. I believe I will be hitting the unpainted windows first. Thinking on things, I am beginning to suspect I will need an extra gallon. Which is fine. I ran out of light by the time I started, to do more. Could I have started earlier? By temp, probably. Not by readiness. Which is part of why I am trying to beef up before I go to my mother's. I want to be in better shape for there. Though, with house ac, and regular food, even with humidity, it should be easier. It doesn't hurt to get ready though.
Bedding, more laundry, and dishes. Dinner too. I simply can't work without food. I will fast the first three of five days before I go, as well as resting those last five days. Not a complete stop, just lighter efforts, or so the plan is written. From now to then, I hope to get the place in order, finish painting, get the lawn watering automated, packing as light duty those last few days.
During slow times, I have been researching feed. Chicken and duck feed, for egg layers, is similar enough, or so I am told. Not wanting soy, even in feed, I went looking. Stacy and Doug had a program that seemed reasonable. I didn't think about variety, but it makes sense. And it isn't as if I am doing it commercially. Pricier? Sure. But not too premium.
I may need to see if ducks can't eat certain things. Initially I will be buying feed premixed, but they won't be laying for three to five months after I receive them. So there is time. Anyway, yeah, I'm thinking. If I do raise meat birds, as mentioned, they will be in their own separate safe. Probably require different feed, but could probably be derived from the same stocks.
Oh, and for having eggs when hens stop laying?
One more, for doubting Thomas'. You know who you are. We... are.
Well, a bit more tinkering, then back to work. Later.
