I can't tell you what the problem is, as usual. I have decided to push the clock on around. As I remember it, the last time my clock was coming around to days it was coming in too hot. I staved off the inevitable for several days. Then the schedule kept on going. I was up until 9:30 and change. I need to keep pushing to get back to days. But pushing carefully. How do you do that, by the way? Idiot terminology if you ask me.
My mouse was acting up the last few days, making even internet searches impossible. Being a bit more on the ball, if not all that active still, I started considering what the problems could be. Of course, viruses and other such are always possible problems. I checked, for what that is really worth. I found nothing. I decided to tear the mouse down. Well, okay. It looks like the mouse started growing a fur on the inside! I cleaned it, then tinkered with it. I figured out how to completely disassemble the thing. Some of it was tricky. And being that hard but cheap plastic, I really had to be gentle, and depend a bit on luck. I sort of amazed myself. Cleaned, to the point of no hair. I used tweezers to get out every last bit of it. Then scraping skin cells where they had collected, and other debris. I reassembled it and well. Tried it again. Nope. So, I took the cover off to try some things. It was the module that accepts the click that had failed. Not broken, probably shorted. Either the hair, time, or aridity had simply gotten to it.
I didn't want to go to town, if I did need a few other things. Still, either to town or go without the machine until I eventually got to town. It happened so quickly it surprised me. A shower, dressed, and I was sitting in the Xter before I had quite decided, myself, if I was going to town or not. It happens. I figured I would need to stop at both Walmarts. Sometimes one store carries my brands, sometimes it is the other. But for midnight shopping, I am simply not going to complain. Milk by three gallons, whole, my brand. More cat food, wet. Additional (for storage) toilet paper. Finally, the right mouse. I don't want wireless. They almost don't sell wired mice there. On the good side they are extremely cheap. No, I don't want the ball either. Then again I don't even think they sell those anymore. I was expecting $50-$60, so less than $10 was nice. Nice enough I decided to consider a new keyboard. The old one worked fine, save that I had worn the finger placement bumps down. That was only a few years old too. Cheap plastic indeed. A few other things and home.
It still seems more like a dream. I never woke up today. It just doesn't seem like that is a requirement, always, at least in these times. I am definitely doing much better, if that is mere fractions of a degree, it does mean the difference between just sitting here and doing something about the problems I think I can solve. All good, all good. And they work. You never know, anymore, when you buy anything, whether it will work when you plug it in. Quality control is gone. Then again, we went through that with every emerging market producer out there. First with Japan and Germany, then South Korea, Taiwan, and the rest, in whatever orders. By the time they work themselves up to quality merchandise they price themselves out of the cheap market but begin vying for better, and local, markets. It's a beautiful seed to watch grow. I still think it will end up killing China's communism, or whatever form of socialism it is insisting on acting like or calling itself when it comes to it's end.
Never mind. It's nice to be back online. Later.
