I think? I know I didn't go down near when I thought I would. I just drifted, for an hour or three, more? Then the nap went long itself. Or seemed like it. Too hot. I should have turned the furnace down. Oh well. I can't sleep well at that temp... 72 F or higher, not until I get used to it. Actually I still need the fan and ac to sleep. Sometimes, even so, as the nap today, the sleep is what I call hollow. It doesn't feel like I've slept, I don't feel rested, I wake up on fire. Remember when I suggested I would get fevers that seemed to be from the outside in? Well, imagine if that fever gets, pretty much, all the way in... that's what I am waking to.
I'll figure out how to cool off. Of course, I've got the oven going, so as to make dinner, and prep meats for several days. I'll cook several steaks, baking them a bit, then frying what portion I will eat tonight. Then frying hamburger to have beef crumble around. The sprouts did end up greening up, a bit anyway. Not as much as I would like. So, if the sun is out again tomorrow at some point I may give them one more shot at it. I'll have a small bunch of them with dinner tonight though.
I am still hoping to wash the dishes, then shower, reset the dishes, and put in the last load of cottons while seeing what else there might be to wash. I'll check old loads. If they smell off, I'll take them in and sort them for a simple run through the wash again. Yeah. But if the cats nest in them, or the dust(?) gets to them, they just smell off. No real choice.
If I get those things done I will do the worm bin. I know, I keep promising. I just ran out of steam and lost my footing. It has been a very good week though. There is still tomorrow. And there is next week. I am hoping to keep up and keep going until summer causes a break, then acclimate to that as quickly as possible... figuring out how to adjust bodily, how to make that smoother, and then figure out what I can do in the heat, or morning, or evening and do that.
I suppose, when it turns hot, with the ac, I can work in the en suite a bit more. But I still want to do some things outside, perhaps daily. The goal is to consider chickens. If I do that, I will want to check on their food and water nearly, if not daily, possibly even twice a day until the systems check out, but then do that when the weather changes... If I think of it as I do the cats, and when I feed and check the water and litter pan of the girls, go out and check the feathered girls and chap if I go that way.
It's been a long time that I have been here. It took a while to get used to being saddled with the debt and responsibility... some of which I am still trying to catch up on. I would like to go a bit deeper. More gardening, if in easier mode as necessary... with perennials when possible... with drip automatic irrigation... and raised beds when that works better. Then to chickens for eggs, though in time for meat perhaps. And, finally, to a goat or two. I am not sure it is all possible, but it may be. Then again how long have I been on about all this? Though this year is proving quite fruitful. The last few years have been improvements year over year, so... maybe.
I best get to dinner. Later.
