Shortly before getting to the post, blood sugar was 144. A can of sardines, a bit (too much) of dark chocolate, sand a dose of insulin. Then I felt something wrong. I was pretty sure what it was, not why. Blood sugar is at 56 less than an half hour after testing eating and dosing. How!?!
Beside the sardines, I ate 37 carbs. Even 78% dark chocolate has a ton. How could it drop that far, that fast, eating that? I would like to do a few things but can't. I'll fix a fatted tea shortly too. I wonder if some of the sweetener was out-processed on top of reduced calories and eliminating sweetener? Wow, spinning, sweating, dizzy.
If I can get to town I want to try a Jimmy John's keto sandwich. Wow though, that was some drop. A few more chunks of dark chocolate, but just 8 carbs worth (I don't reduce carb counts for fiber, that usually doesn't work for me). Remember that time I almost passed out? That is this. I am hoping food figures in soon. I'll test again in an hour. Meant to shave, can't stand. Coffee, fatted, maybe some sweetener, just not the type that was causing problems. Ugh.
--------
Still a bit loopy. Ate more carbs, plus a fatted coffee. Blood sugar, after an hour, is up to 86. Really? Still feeling rough, really bad. Crazy.
--------
After two hours, blood sugar is up to 106. But I am still weak, with nausea. I am not sweating or dizzy, but I am done for the day. Wow, what a trip. Not sure what that was about. Oh, I did open a new vial of insulin. Could it just have been more potent? The other has only been open for between two and three weeks though. Still, it seems like it was more potent. Later.
Yikes! I've had those low drops. NOT fun. Definitely scarey.
ReplyDeleteI'd say you did a bit too much insulin for the amount of carbs...especially if sugar was already on the lower end.
An episode like yours, that low, takes hours to recover from. You're lucky you didn't pass out and go comatose.
Yeah, I 'm lucky that way. :p I can't seem to die. They say the twenty third... fourth time is the charm. Thing is, I used a normal amount, none before, and ate with it. Yeah, spooky. I am wondering if potency is different per vial. New vial.
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, I am rather sensitive to blood sugar drops. Not spikes, but drops. And I can handle serious changes. Even going without food for five days while awake. Easy to sleep through, not so easy when mostly awake.
