A strange hunger. Not precisely a single one. I can't say I ever loved corn bread or palenta. I can only suggest I enjoyed it rarely but well. I have been developing a stronger and growing desire for these. And palenta showed up in a recent meal which sounded good. But keto? Yes and no. Definitely not the standard issue.
But there might be various workarounds, recipes to make a reasonable replacement. However, one recipe never seems quite right. I happened on a recipe collection, comparing three recipes. For me, I may try each, do a bit of mixing and matching after, and come up with something I like best. Though if one of the top picks hit it out of the park perhaps little or no tweaking would be required.
So strange how something only mildly and rarely enjoyed can become such a lust.
A few hours after my last draw, and a strong dose of insulin, blood sugar is 197 having dropped only seven points. Only unsweetened tea was consumed. Hmm... Anyway, a meal will be consumed. Definitely annoying. I will keep at it. Oh, I rinsed out my drinking jar, which has only had sweetened tea just that once, so it isn't cross contamination. Yeah, I am dosing again.
My mother called. She has the illness which took me down, in a different place and a different color. The shingles. I had it on my back, and it was black, like a fungus. Oh, her infection is on one side, mine was evenly on both sides of my spine, from three to six to eight inches before I got treatment, both ways out from my spine, six inches up from my waist. They have her on a potent antibiotic or two and a painkiller. I was never offered a painkiller. Actually, I qualified on that first run with that in the background. That's a rough one, I'll add that to my prayers.
As well, I lost an uncle last night. I will do a rosary for his soul and his family.
