.
I checked earlier. Some things were still listed as arriving
today. A few of the packages originally slated for delivery today were
showing as late. Which meant they wouldn't be here. Most of them
were showing as still being delivered today, but weren't listed as out for
delivery. So I wasn't of a mind to think they would be delivered.
And... they weren't. Now they are all listed as late.
One of the things coming in is a pattern. I can't find the pajama
pattern(s) from before. So I ordered new. It only goes up to extra
large, not even tall. But I... figured those patterns would be difficult
to find, from looking last time. I have been reviewing videos, regarding
simple pattern reading, and some for sizing up. Or... will be looking
for those. Actually, I think the sizing videos I have looked at have
been regarding sizing down jeans. I have quite a few pair of jeans which
are in great shape, but simply too big. Great practice, too. But
they are jeans I really liked. They don't make them anymore, either.
So I was hoping this arrived today. The fabric, a solid plaid, won't be
here until... well... they say Saturday, or is it Wednesday now? But
with backed up delivery, them having... ten or twelve packages, because of the
ones not delivered today, and the ones supposed to be delivered
tomorrow? All supposed to have been delivered Thursday or Friday?
I have no idea when they are going to deliver these, or even if they are going
to deliver these. A new driver, who is not only driving, but also
loading his truck, told to quota deliveries? Behind by half a week
now? Not sure I will get these. And, he often delivers them to the
wrong address. I'm not sure I will get any of these items. Or are
they on some sort of pseudo strike, having their pay cut, or being
replacements for higher paid former employees? Not sure. But it's
getting rough out there.
After the delivery of items I have ordered, I am going to have to stop
buying. I think that might be the point. Amazon, and it's
affiliates, can't afford delivery, and UPS can't afford the deliveries it has
promised. So... there are a lot of problems. Well, it was good
while it lasted. I won't kick it as it dies on the hoof.
Thankfully, for the most part, I am done shopping. For... a good long
time. If I can just get what I ordered. Some of it, most of
it. And refunds on the rest.
Still, I really would like to begin getting the pattern together, for when the
material arrives. I really don't remember how to do it. But...
we'll see. While the butcher paper is too thick to see through, the spur
like rolling thing, I think, is meant to trace through to heavier paper?
Should be interesting. Oh... for understanding patterns, as a
noob? Here. I had to go over some things several times. Like
the fold section, regarding grain.
I do find it interesting, the optimization portion. Anyone who sought to
become an engineer has a woody for optimization. I would be there are
programs out there which could be slightly programmed in order to optimize the
use of material, given grain direction, preferred usage, and size. May
be expensive, or might have a free one out there. If you can trust a
download or app. That's always been flaky.
I wonder if Mathlab... Matlab?, or the other one would work. Bah, the
copies I have probably wouldn't work on new machines though. But, I was
able to program Matlab, I think, to optimize a masters (actually ph.d.) math
class system being taught, to about a 97.37% solve rate. So... I have
been handy at these things, or once. I was told it was a masters course,
but it isn't required for masters, and most of the other students were ph.d.
candidates. Hmm, I could look around, see what's free. Maybe even
an android app. The world has changed since then.
Hmm? Oh... I suppose I ought to get something to eat. A fatted
coffee too. Then get going with cleaning off the freezer top, and
dishes. I'll bet I could pop the top, too, and open up the cave.
Pointing the fan outdoors. I'm not bothering with the swamp
cooler. Though I would like to, perhaps, try it in the garage?
Maybe. Later.
