Not feeling well at all. Feet are swollen, things feel wrong all over. Bruised biceps? Strained left elbow, internals are feeling bad, lots of things are just wrong. Not sure what the problem is. But, it's a Sunday. I would have done something, if I could have awoken. It just didn't happen. I will get the trash to the curb. I got everything out Friday, and the rabbit leftovers out right after they finished. Well, and I left it all a bit further out, away from the house, on the other side of the drive, a bit down from the back door. I'll bet that is ripe!
Oh, the sproutlings? Doing very well. Even when I sleep too long, or forget for a bit. Or, probably, overdo it. I do my best, but keeping up on things, three to five waterings a day, for many days? Well, it... in this heat? I do my best. But they are doing well, to be honest. I think they will do extremely well. There is only one problem.
You don't get much per tray. Which, isn't a terrible problem, it just means I need more trays. Which... is just a matter of money, and time to receive. The thing comes with four trays. And, to be honest, for more regular consumption? As in a side dish worth, every other day? And maybe a main dish (as in a microgreens salad) twice a week? I'd guess I need at least twelve trays. Perhaps six per stack. And, run three, let those go for four days, start another three, and every three or four days, add another three stack. Summer or winter, if you can keep them warm enough, at least 70. Which, from now on, I will... I do.
It might take more, to keep up. I don't know. All I know is that these trays really do well. And, yes, out of the sunlight. I am glad to finally have something that works, and a lot better than the other things I have tried. If, as mentioned, my methodology may have been askew. Still, they work. And, they are easy. No draining the jars, or tipping, tapping, shaking, and hoping. Sometimes that worked, sometimes it didn't, but it seemed a lot of effort. This is very very easy. Just add seeds, once. Add water to the top dripper tray. Let that settle to the catcher tray below. Then, three to five times a day, get the catcher tray out, pour the water into the dripper tray, put the catchment tray back under it all, and... done!
As mentioned, they don't make very much, and it takes days. Plus, I have been munching on them. They really are tasty. Plus, I know the water used to grow them was r.o., so nothing funky in it. Oh, actually, twelve more would be best (at least). For, when they are finished, you can just put the fully grown trays into the fridge. And, one other problem is, I may not have added enough seed. They suggested to err on the side of caution, but it looks more like a scraggly green beard, than a full field of freshly growing plants. So... I'll have to experiment. But they are tasty as can be. And rather green for being indoors. Still, I'd like to give them some time to green up, in fuller light, as they finish. It's all an experiment again.
Later.
