Just how much work are you willing to do?  How much do you think you should do?  How much do you wish to bet that a little isn't enough?  About removing mildew from drawers.  My bet is on the short side.  Of course, that means I need either the clear spray paint or an actual shellac.

Me?  I'm going with the dame.  Oh, if it doesn't work, maybe I'll come back and go more with the fella.  For some things, sure.  Especially for very old items.  But these drawers aren't old enough to have gotten to that point.  Probably.  Plus, he is getting paid to do what he is doing.  I am paying to do it, and then doing it.  Going minimum to start, more if needs be.

I was able to find clear paint inexpensive enough.  But clear shellac was way more expensive that I would trust to order online.  I may look the hardware stores over.  Maybe that is what they really do cost, currently.  Or, maybe, as sometimes happens on amazon, they charge through the nose... in part to cover shipping, in part just because they can.  It's... sort of a game.

Well, actually, all the same prices.  Should have known.  Anyway...  The spray paint should be here by Friday.  As well, I may do some things in the drawer area, to close it off.  Have had... critters in there.  It's open, in some places.  Not sure I want to close it off, completely.  But could put in steel mesh.  Just... if I am going to bother, I might as well sort it out fully.
