Back to bed, to sleep, for... hours. I wasn't sure I'd be back up today, at all, as horrible as I felt. How much pain I was in. How tired I was. And with a cough, runny nose, and else to add to it. I think it was around 7:30 when I went down? Give or take a bit.
It took a bit for me to sleep. But I wasn't really conscious, not fully, either. I was a ball of suffering. I did rewrap the leg, but it took a while for that to... be soothed. And cold, I was cold. Just... a ball of hurting cold nothingness.
I slowly started to warm. The pain in my leg, and elsewhere began to let go. And what of my consciousness remained to fend those things off released. And I slept like a king. Or... how a king might be hoped would sleep? A right king, with a right kingdom? Beautiful. I don't mind suffering, but... this was misery on suffering on sickness on ill health on the chills on... other things. Thankfully, this time, I didn't have a fever. And the coughing didn't keep me awake.
Sassy. I became aware of her. She wasn't being pushy. Just checking, from a distance. For my sake? Yes, but too, for food. She has been fed twice. So she wasn't yet starving. But it was also well past time. Usually every two to four hours, five as an outlier, she'll get some chow. But, too, she was... a bit worried. Checking, as I said. She does have her interests, but she has her care, too.
I called her over. Petting her, massaging her legs and neck, head and back, gently scratching her ears and favorite places, pleases her... mostly, most of the time. But, too, the tactile feel helps me wake up. And, so, I woke and got up, after just a bit, then got her fed. I like that cat. She is a patient, plush, wonder of the feline world. She really is a sweatheart, as they go. Sam was a pushy broad, but had to be. Sassy is... at ease and waiting. Each has had her place.
Oh, but a double bloody nose, right out of the bullpen. No good reason. Just... boom. Not soft, not gentle, a torrent, from both nostrels. Plugged, for now. But it'll be hours before these relent. I can tell. I hate bloody noses like these. Bah!
On to gaming. My friend said he had gotten to a dlc. So I went and checked it out. He suggested it was a maze? Nope. It was linear level, with slight splits... think islands in rivers... from time to time. But those closed back up. Foggy, but linear. And, then, I got to the first actual play part, that was sort of the like the main game. And, figured out that you don't kill the "bosses". They are non-hostile, until you open a sort of interdimensional link, so you and they can more than see each other, but interact. They, you have to rip open areas... before they kill you. And, really... you can't even harm them. Though, too, there are enemies you can kill, but which can harm you. It's a bit of a trick. I wonder if he figured that part out? Remember, I have been playing these sorts of games for... longer than he has been alive. Everything is a puzzle, even when they... aren't, technically. There are only just so many types of puzzles, literal and figurative.
I can... probably teach him some things. Like how to fall back, in an ordered manner. Since wounds are never one-shot fatal, and healing can be complete, an ordered retreat is exceptionally easy. IF... you follow a few rather simple methods. One falls back, the other keeps firing until he must. By then, the one who fell back should be ready to shoulder and target, and so on. Doesn't matter how many enemies. Though, in a place where how far can be fallen back is strictly limited, there... is something about that. Still, kiting can be done as well, taking the mobs back into the dungeon. Usually I haven't run into new enemies while doing so. Still, something to consider. Teach him to run and gun. And, yes, aim.
I have heard people be told that they don't aim while running and gunning. That... only is sometimes the case when the attempt is to break contact. You use two firearms at a time, to try to appear as a larger unit. But, even then, some aiming is required. You have to at least get the attention of who is being targeted. If it's not close enough, they... won't duck, stay down, allow you to get out. But, in this game, there is no breaking of contact. The enemies keep coming until you or they are dead. So... headshots, unless far too many. Then body shots. Unless you can't do headshots... then just... main body mass. Ugh.
Well... on to gaming. I'll level up a bit. Try to get through to a few places. And such. I thought I would play the first dlc without losing my main game saves. I was... mislead. Anyway, so I am starting over, from the start, again. Later.
