Sleep seemed a reasonable proposition.

.
.
I set things up, shut them down, checked the temp.  It was still 80° at 20:00, so I left everything shut.  Up, down, and... nothing.  Too cold, for a bit, at 70°.  I had to bundle.  An hour and a quarter later, realizing sleep wasn't going to happen, I got back up.  It was 72°.  Bleh.  It didn't do that when I napped, in the hottest part of the day.  Strange.

I had remembered medicine, most of it.  Not the slow acting insulin.  I'll get that.  And check blood sugar... now.  Insulin in, and... 119!  I'm always happy with a sub-150.  It is a number I will live with.  No extra food, no fast acting insulin, no fuss, no worry.  My weekly blood sugar is 164 average.  Not perfect, but rather good for having started back only less than a week ago?  I ought to check bp sometime soon, if I suspect it is good.

I am sure blood sugar control is why heat isn't an issue.  I can't do much.  It is slowing me down.  But I am not getting heat sick, or sleeping all of the time.  Plus I am able to control the house climate a bit.  When I woke, it was down to 75° outside, so I opened it all up.  It is cooling more.  If the heat stays high like this, I will gradually be crushed.  But, so far, this is doable.

Know where and when to point fans.  In, out, sideways, at various points.  I still don't have it down, exactly.  But I have gotten better.  First flush is to open up all, get air flowing to the front door and out, then... when things are averaged... settled... everything is the same temp, then bring in all the cool air possible.  The only main exception is if wind is high and coming in to the front door.  Simply reversing that will do.

Perhaps, yet tonight, a shower.  A trim?  I don't know.  Rather tired, just not enough... or in the right way... to sleep.  Later, or good night.

Later down and up from the nap.

.
.
Not until 17:00, five p.m. for some of you, did I go down.  I think I was writing about it at about 15:30.  It just didn't happen.  I got lost in looking.  Nothing particular.  I set the alarm for 20:00.  Ducks were put up first thing.  It isn't dark yet.  Nice thing is, they really want to be in at this point in the afternoon.  They were waiting, though oddly they were on the back porch.  Which I will need to spray.  Very odd.

I forgot to do a fasting read before my meal.  So I was careful with dosage.  I did give a shot of the stuff though.  About five hours later, blood sugar is at 83.  So far I am not feeling ill, if I really should get food in.  A brot?  Yes, but that won't be enough.  I really have to add something else in there.  I just don't know what.  A fatted tea would be fine, but that won't be enough.  I need a few carbs to keep the drop from becoming precipitous.

It was °92 at just after 20:00?  Wait, time is off, somewhere.  The machine is reading ~18:30.  I know I slept for more than an hour.  My main timekeeper is saying 18:39 too.  Hmm... the alarm clock must be in central or some other time zone.  An easy bump, hard to notice immediately, especially while crashing or waking.  I am sure I got several hours sleep though, perhaps three?  Anyway, it... well... I guess I will just not know when or how, just that it happened.  Perhaps too tired when going down to make sense of things.

It is 81° out front, 75° last I looked in the main, 70° upstairs even with me sleeping up there, and 92° outside.  Not bad.  I suppose not putting the thermometer in a parking lot in direct sun might help?  Yea.  These old stone houses are wonderful, if... when... you figure them out.  Not perfect, certainly better.  If they really wanted to cut ac use, this would be one of the ways.  The walls go deep enough that they are geothermal.  I doubt if they would let you build this house today.  They want you to have ac and an easily destroyed, entered, house.  Still, it would be rough with no cooler place... though they did have the underground path from house to house if it got really bad.  That would definitely have been cool.  I might guess as low as the high 60°s.

I best get something down, before my blood sugar crashes.  I just... don't get why it is crashing on almost no insulin?  I'll take it.  I'll keep going a bit lower.  I'll keep eating keto.  But nothing has changed on my end... save the doors are locked.  Perhaps my artificial sweetener was being spiked with sugar water.  It's so much sweeter than real sugar I wouldn't have noticed.  Actually, it would have made it seem more pleasant?  Diluted.

I am not editing this.  If it's too messy, perhaps I will do so in the near future.  Sleepy.  Later.

So tired.

.
.
A nap, soon.  Nothing but breakfast and medicine else today, so far.  Well, other than cats and ducks.

I heard it was supposed to get to 101° today.  The highest I have seen it was 94°, at 14:30... 96° at 15:38.  It could go up.  Inside, this front room is 79°, the main room is 74°.  Not bad.  I suspect they will blather about it being 110° before long.  They are still trying to get people to believe it is grobal warbling.  Can you believe the gall of these people?  Lying about a pandemic that doesn't kill people (unless they are old or ill and shoved together in nursing homes), while still lying about global warming?

The worst are those who believe any of it.  Wearing a mask cannot help you.  It merely shows you are compliant.

I did order the new phone.  I will have to go in and get it hooked up and running.  When it arrives.

A nap is in order.  Brunch was good, but heavy.  Four duck eggs, half an onion, a brot sliced into quarters (sized), and a quarter cup of cheese... with a quart of milk.  I have a brot remaining for supper.  Those really are tasty.  As I become fat burning, fats actually taste sweet, much like sugar.  Brots are one of the sweetest meats, as are well fatted roasts and good steaks.  Literally, my tastebuds tell me I am eating sugar more than if I actually eat sugar.  Sugar just doesn't taste nearly as sweat... there is an almost bitterness to sugar now, if there is an affect my body still likes.

I'll set the second alarm for later.  I haven't needed the nooner, so.  Perhaps set it for 19:00?  That would give me a good sure rest, be more a backup, and yet give me time to wrestle my way out of the sack in case sleep gets into my bones.  I like getting the ducks in before dark.  And, with them going in rather early easily, I even prefer that.  For their sake.  I worry about the dark... for them.  I know the dark.

Such strange notions... visitations... lately.  I will miss my friends, even if they never knew me.  I tried to make contact.  Perhaps just dreams.  Or, maybe, not all can hear, see.  And the women.  Hmm...  At least I sense they are still alive?  I... think so.  Save the one, but she wasn't in the lot last not, specifically.  Almost afraid to nap.  And, yet... not.  *smiles*  Later.

Hunting.

.
.
Last night I saw signs.  She was sorting through things.  Algos are good, not that good.  Music, it's how I know.  It's what I know.  So, I began hunting.  To see which it was.

Her?  Yes.  So, I followed.

Not a bad night.

.
.
I... think I went to bed earlier.  Not rightly, quite yet, but before midnight?  I think so.  Just.  I slept quite well.  I had the alarm set for nine and noon again.  I woke a bit after nine, shutting off the alarm and just rolling to a wake.  Something like that.  I may start setting the alarm for eight, trying to get up just a bit earlier.  If that leads to sleep earlier, then... maybe earlier.  For potential late nighters, I can do naps?

I dreamed.  I have dreamed that there were a few others who were living very close to death, like me.  Two in particular.  A man older than me, and a man in his middle ages.  Both deathly ill, dysfunctional.  I have dreamed of them before, every few to five years for the last couple of decades.  Nothing fancy about the dreams, so I didn't write about them.  Too odd to try to explain, anyway.  Last night, my mind sought them.  They... are no more.  I am alone.

The ducks are fed and out, I cleaned cat litter last night, changed their water, and have been feeding and treating them regularly.  I had two meals yesterday.  Leftover brots for this morning, one to be chopped, added to an egg scramble, with diced onion, and a glass of milk.  The last will be a later lunch or earlier dinner.  Sounds good to me.  Then, hopefully, a shower.  And, maybe, finally, work?  I don't know.  One can hope.

With plenty and fresh water, the girls really keep their fur fantastic.  Oh, and this year, Sam hasn't bothered thinning her fur.  It never got hot enough.  Sassy never thins her fur, I don't think she knows how.  Sam acts as a mum, but there are limits.  On to meds and breakfast.  Good day.

Oh, a visitor?

.
.
Not really my tunes, but what are.  Still, to notice is what it is.

Ugh.

.
.
I woke a bit late.  I set the alarm, and... it did work... after a number of snoozes.  Nine is when it was set, and noon as a backup.  I can't remember bedtime, but I think it was one or two o'dark.  Everything was open, downstairs.  It had just started warming, if it hadn't cooled much last night.  I think, the lowest I saw, was 68° downstairs... I have a remote read.  As I finally got up, it was 72°.  All good.  It would have jumped to that as soon as I closed up, anyway.

The ducks were let out and fed.  Actually the process is the opposite of how that sounds, technically.  I put the feed in their pan, then let them out to get to it.  But, in another technical manner, they can't actually be fed UNTIL they are let out.  I am often left quite unsure about how to term or phrase a thing.  It's... a modern complication lost on savages.  And the young?  Are the young savages?  You would have to ask parents.  :p  Just not mine!  ;P

Blood sugar was 170!  Oh, yes, that is good.  I thought the carb rounds would crush that this morning, especially since I forgot slow acting insulin last night.  I must really have needed carbs!  After a few setbacks, this is the lowest blood sugar since I restarted, and it got there fast.  If I had only been off keto, then off insulin, for a few days.  Still, it went from well into the 300s to 170 in days, not weeks.  And with minimal insulin.  Actually crashing on minimal insulin.

I had set the machine to update, then turn off.  So, imagine my surprise, when I go to log in today and the f'ing machine wants to update.  Leaving me no choice about anything.  It took an hour?  And they wonder why they are absolutely hated.  They are poor at design and implementation.  What their systems suggest and ask for are nothing like what they do and give.  As well, I am getting indicators, currently, that updates are failing.  I am not sure if that is from MS, or...  There is no indication of WHAT updates are failing.  Or what that even means.  Is that blogger?  MS?  Google generally?  Something else.

I am back on, and it is working.  I was able to use the ps4, temporarily.  As well, the blogger update seems to work on that, now.  Crazy.  They must have fixed it for those systems.  If I can get the controller repaired, that will be a good backup system.  And, if it gets too warm in here, that room is still usually cool... for a while.  I can retreat to that machine if this room becomes sweltering.  Then again, I'm handling 78° like a champ... if it does drain me over time.  Or... is that just being awake... alive?  I can never remember.

I am hoping to get to some cleaning today.  I sure hope so.  I may nap in an hour or so.  I need to check the return policy for a replacement phone I am examining.  I don't want to get stuck with a brick.  Especially with Verizon techs probably as willing to screw people not buying from them.  It's how big companies are working these days.  It's a dangerous time, when companies are becoming literal or zombie monopolies, controlled by interests which and who absolutely hate Americans.  At least white ones, or those on that side of things.  And China seems to own many of them outright.

Anyway... a nap, a shower, some work?  I hope.  Good day.

Yes, better.

.
.
Three to four hours later, couldn't crash, with the ducks in, a big meal, and a whole round of glucose tabs (10)?  Three hours after, for sure, blood sugar is 128.  Yes, it was crashing and continuing to collapse.  I will have a fatted tea and the slow acting insulin.  I just don't quite get it.  Small doses, reasonable foods, and yet massive swings.  I'll just have to keep an eye on things, use less per dose, perhaps dose more often as needed?  I keep two rounds of tabs upstairs, in case I feel it and can't get downstairs.

The blogger update is working on the computer quite well.  It was disastrous on the ps4.  But the ps4, mostly, was barely functioning.  As much from lack of platform updates to structure problems, like ram.  Still, it got me through.  It looks like a lot of ms 10 problems have been ironed out.  I can even keep updates at bay, for a while, and schedule them.  At least for up to five days.  I wonder if I can kick the can even then?

It was just 72° outside, about 73° in the main, and about 78° here in the front, computer, room.  I am handling the higher temps easily enough.  For the short periods I have to deal with them.  No matter where I put the machine, it will increase the temps a goodly bit.  If I put it upstairs, I wouldn't have a true refuge.  I haven't been using the refuge, but it could happen.  Will happen if heat persists.  I may return to knitting, after I complete the sewing tasks, in the refuge.  Non-heating activities.

I really would like to work a bit more with sewing.  Mostly hand stitching repairs.  Pockets on pj's, which I have ideas about how to improve, a new zipper for some jeans, a few tears and seams which have come undone.  Even work clothes are good to tend.  Then get back to crocheting... perhaps to knitting.  I am terrible at those.  But... that... that is where everybody starts.  I am not special.

Some interesting daydreams.  Memories, if convoluted.  Better memories, of some of the better times I have had with women.  In the best of those times with my favored women.  I can be a snot about things, but... I don't have to be.  It isn't even the sex.  That's just the draw, and one of the binders.  It's... the conversations, flirting, sharing...  I really do like women.  Just a few bad breaks, and one I couldn't remember until my heart got better.  Shadows on my heart, mind.  Such pleasant daydreams... women.

Good night.

Actually...

.
.
As it turns out, diabetes wasn't stable.  It felt okay, for a bit.  Then my health started a nosedive.  I wasn't going to pull out without something.  I had started cooking.  I ate a middling meal, just with tea, cold.  I am hoping that will fix it.  If not, glucose tabs.  I just don't understand why it is bottoming out so quickly.  Insulin is turning out to have almost no effect or absolutely killing it.

The foods I am eating are very keto.  Cheese, eggs, meat.  Milk is the singular exception, but that didn't help with the crash.  And there wasn't much of it, smaller cups.  I'll keep at it.  It may just take my body a bit to acclimate to insulin after a bit of a hiatus.  Trying to get a balance adjusted is so very tricky.  I still have the jitters and sweats from the slipping.  It may still be slipping.  If the food doesn't turn the sensation around in ten minutes, so an half hour after eating, I will take a few tabs.

I'll stay up just enough longer to put the ducks up, after deciding on tabs.  The diabetic drop crushed me.  Later.
---------------

I had to take tabs, several.  Feeling a bit better.  Tough row.

Naps must be a divine blessing.

.
.
About two hours ago, I went down like a rock.  Wasn't sure I'd be up today, whatever passes for that term in my life.  As mentioned, being up, and two hours later, probably more give than take but definitely give or take, a nap it was.  As I count things.  More rested though?  Able to sit.  I guess that counts.  The ducks were set up for tonight, and the hutch doors opened.  I wonder if I can leave those doors open during the day, earlier?  I don't want to, in case they might choose to go in.  It's... the poop.  If they are in all day and night, it... it's... the smell... of the poop.  I can taste the stench.  Mr... Anderson...  Eon?  Noe?  One?  Oh Neo!  :p

I need to refresh their hutch, soon.  But hay really makes the place better.  It can only be added just so often before it does no good.  And, with nine instead of three, it gets sour in there much quicker.  I need to get going on the extra hutch, and rabbit cages.  But that takes money.  Part of why I am short is getting ahead.  In time, it is hoped, the ducks and rabbits will allow some financial breathing room.  For now, until things are in place, I am behind.

The front room is up to 76°, the main room is at 73°.  It, without downstairs cooling, is good to run mornings, nap, and wake as it might begin cooling.  If it starts hitting the 90°s, there just isn't much to be done.  But, for now, I am doing okay and figuring out naps and a slower life until things cool.  When things cool, I am hoping to stay a few steps ahead.  I almost did, last year?  The year before?  Several years running, I think.  Then, during late winter or spring, slipped again.  It's tricky.

Ah, but blood sugar!  Strange, but my first meal broke the bank.  Starting at 201, it rose to 225, with a smallish keto meal and a low (8 mg) dose of fast acting insulin.  Three hours after, I had a fatted tea and went with a middling dose of the fast acting (15 mg).  Blood sugar, after the nap, is a stable 83.  I'll keep an eye on it, probably should have a small meal.  Literally, I need to eat to manage, eat for the numbers.  If while attempting to balance everything from carbs, to protein and fats, to calories, and into vitamin D, and omega 3 and 6 balances, and...  Okay, I... no one... we do what we can.  If we ate what they said we required I would be fatter than I am.  No.  Just... no.  But, I will attempt to vary, add what is definitely good, subtract what isn't, and balance somewhat on the blind.  Taste and health seem diametrically opposed, in any case.  COOKIES!  Oreos with milk!  Bleh.  I passed the last few times.  As I said, yea, yeah I'm thinking I'm back.

I have figured out how to create the top white cross on the rubix cube.  And put the white corners in, all with matching sides along the top and according to centers, of course.  I am now working on figuring out the middle sides.  I get one section every other day, then look at the next sections.  I attempt to be able to do the next sections even if I don't understand (couldn't today, but did tinker a bit).

Bit by bit.  Though, sometimes, I lose something from before.  It sucks getting old.  But, in time, I will get there.  Then I will work on speed.  I suspect five seconds is out.  But besides, who would believe.  That wouldn't be digital, or in some format that is difficult to break, as with soduku.  Unless, of course, they saw it with their own eyes.  Hmm... that would... be a trick.  *grins*  Hmm... might have to try.  I don't need your belief.  I'll keep at it.

Later?  If not?  Much later!  Be well.

So very strange.

.
.
It is hitting 85° outside.  Inside?  Front, this, and main room are 72°!  I've been on the machine all day.  Can't wake, really, or push off into the world.  I thought, perhaps, it was heat getting to me, but... that definitely isn't it.  And I don't feel cold.  Sometimes heat can sneak up on me, but not at 72°.  I am tired, unable to get going.  But there seems to be nothing wrong.  No pain, no aches, nothing I can detect, other than wanting to sleep so powerfully that standing has been a clumsy affair from time to time.  Yes, tired.  Must be medicine still.

A lunch, simple but good.  The remaining hamburger, given a sniff test first, then fried.  Yes, it passed.  I am picky.  As well, remaining storebought eggs from a while back, float tested.  One failed, the rest were fine.  Into the skillet and nearly finished burger.  Then a fistful of cheese.  While spicing I dumped rather than sprinkled the Carolina Reaper bits!  Oh well.  I just stirred and... oh well?

Actually, it wasn't bad, after the first couple of jolts.  Yes, my lips are on fire.  And, finally, I got a runny nose from spice.  Still?  Rather good.  That overage of the funky heat chemical was slightly offputting, but not enough to cause concern.  I'll bet there was a tablespoon in that pound of food.  A dose of insulin, a glass or two of milk, all good.  There is a dot left for later, when it cools I'll put it up.  I think I have more cooked burger in the fridge.  If it's good, I have two more, quite spicy, meals for later.  I'll just mix them if it's good.  Lettuce was bad, so... just burger, eggs, and cheese.  Reminds me of corned beef hash, from the can.  I actually used to love that stuff.  You know, cooking some corned beef, and adding that in, would be about an exact duplicate, to my mind, just without the potatoes,... carbs... and other bad stuff.

It is time for a nap.  I think a good long prayer first, as I lay down.  I always keep a line open to God.  A type of link.  But direct prayers are a good addition, better for some things.  Toss in meal prayers and the rosary, and... it makes a splendid grouping of prayers.  If, still, I prefer that open link.  I no longer need to focus, only remember it.  Even remembering that it is ongoing event has become less of a chore, even when tired.  Still, I like to check it from time to time.  Do... you even know what I suggest?  Try it, sometime, if you have faith and believe in acting on it.  An active passiveness?  The opposite?  I honestly think God loves that connection.  It also means I am as open to Him as I can be.  Always... attentive.  A direct line makes much of life easier.  Far from sinless.

Such a nice day.  Feeling so good in every other way than being tired.  Even that is... pleasant.  It is fighting it that is a problem.  Prepare for a prayer coming your way, enemy, friend, good, evil, powerful, powerless, or just another other.  Be well, feel blessed because you are, and have a great day.

A few things, and early!

.
.
I had asked to borrow a phone, for a few calls.  To the V.A., for starters.  Then to my bank.  I suggested how to wake me, if I was still asleep.  A few pebble, or dozen, at the upstairs wall.  Yep, that is what I heard the other night.  Only, it was a single pebble.  This was a number of them.  Woke me right up.  So, calls were made.

The V.A., I could only leave a message.  They wanted to call back, so I asked my loan owner if that number would be okay.  Yep.  So I gave them that number.  I can't afford a new phone.  For a while.  Anyway.  Some information and a query.  Next, I called my bank.  They were not happy with me.  It turns out, those who asked if they could pass a check, the ones I said not to, did anyway.  I am overdrawn.  At least it wasn't the bank, this time.  Old checks that should have already been cashed, all sent in at the end of the month.  *sigh*

Ah, but I did get a battery.  For the glucometer.  I'll have to replace that when possible.  And get an extra?  Yes.  Blood sugar was 201 fasting.  But that has been going without fast acting, and maybe even forgetting slow acting, for the last few days since the glucometer died.  I'll get right on that.  A slow acting shot this morning, a fatted coffee, then a small dose (8mg) of fast acting.  Will see.  I have burger to fry for something or other... a hamburger, or taco salad if the lettuce might still be good.  Then a fatted tea later.  The rest will be tea.  It'll get to trim quickly.

The ducks are out.  Two eggs every day.  I enjoy watching them, from time to time.  There might be a third female, in the litter.  Not sure.  Time will tell.  Size wise, it is exactly between the average females and males.  But the males will be doubling yet, in size.  At least.  I feed them as much as they will take in a day.  Trying to ensure there is a little extra left at the end.  They do forage.  Fresh roots and shoots?  Bugs?  Mice already?  They are always looking for other... other than feed.  Of which they do eat plenty, just not solely, or even close.

Yes.  A trim, after I wake, and shower.  Then setting up dishes.  Upstairs was 68°, as was downstairs main.  The front room was 64°, I can't remember what the outside was.  All that at about nine, before but nearing.  Down by two, but the early wake leaves me a bit confused this morning.  Trying to work things out by writing.  Ugh.  Dishes, a load of laundry, and the bathroom.  Or... hopefully.  Later.

Little done.

.
.
Little eaten.  No nap.  Still, a good day.  The ducks were actually itching to get in.  After setting up a trough with fresh water, and placing it, they pushed their way in.  So be it.  No need to bother them with a second trough.  Unusual, but I am easy.  They are looking healthy and well.  And enjoyed the one fresh trough as much as they do two?  It sounded like it.

A brot and potato salad was all I have had today.  Oh, and some spicy pork rinds.  I'll fix more tomorrow.  I need to hit the dishes.  Hard.  Ugh.  And another shower, though a trim this time.  Just because.

I also missed the extra extra medicine, just... couldn't track or do... much... today.  I am handling the heat exceptionally well.  It read 76° to 78° in this room most of the afternoon.  It said it was 82° earlier, while out, and I simply couldn't believe it.  My tolerance of higher temps is almost miraculous.  I may have to see how far I can push that.  Direct sunlight and all bets are off.  But, off out of the sun?  I am having to wear full length pants, with socks and shoes, to not feel cold in the evenings lately.  Even at 82°, if I'm still not sure I believe... either reading.  Two different thermometer reads...

Something very strange is happening.  Tired, but that is because I am still getting used to heart medicine.  But the heat tolerance?  Some other things?  Something dramatic is happening.  Could I be dying?  Or... reviving?  Mental capacity is still... limited, confused.  Though, if I make it through medication exhaustion, I am wondering if a whole new life is emerging?  That or death, as suggested.  I just... something momentous is attempting to... be.

On to bed.  Good night.  Prayers and blessings.

Odd.

.
.
Someone is looking... or for something?  I have been receiving more hits lately, the last six months to a year.  My average, for the last six months for sure, has been around 4k to 5k viewers.  Well, viewers?  Who ever knows.  Still, that is what has been registered.  No, I know, it isn't many.  Not for the big boys and girls.  That might be a bad day for them, if... I wonder how many visits are bought.  Lots of money bought ego boasting tools being used, even by fans.  Not difficult.

Today, however, and yesterday.  And the day before?  It began ramping.  Three to five hundred, then to nearing 2k... just today?  I... did ask for an opportunity.  Perhaps that has created a curiosity.  The opportunity is probably more than it seems.  I may well be rejected.  Fair enough.  I wasn't sure... what I could do.  Only, I had some hope of being able to, in a dispossessed manner, do something.  I suspect this is about that.  A nearly complete review of my materials?  Certainly more recent production.  Interesting.  I'll know when I know.  Or, maybe, the chance will pass without a word.

As to the opportunity?  No more than that.  My plans were to find a few of the more approachable middlefolk, and simply ask what they needed doing.  Research?  Writing tasks?  Perhaps even articles for them to preview, assess, consider.  And, from there, take projects as assigned, until I reached some level of confidence within the system.  Then, still have someone do a review from time to time.  It's easy to go off course.  Especially for some of us.

It may simply pass.  But it does look like someone is at least looking.  Interesting.  Later.

Must... get... going!

.
.
Feeling good.  Body is exhausted, though, for no reason I can tell.  Feel cool enough, no pain, if shoulder and upper arm muscles are... stretched?  What did I do, lift, move?  Ah, different positioning on the computer than the ps4!  Yes, sometimes, it... almost makes sense.  I do sit the machine often, so a different angle sitting, looking, and inputting all gather to potentially throw mechanical biology.  I eventually find a better way.  I really need to create a better seating and viewing situation.  I have food stores crowding me currently.  But they are heavy to move.  Yeah.

A trim, then brushing teeth.  A shower, then maybe an actual shave?  A plan.  Then sit to sort.  Then, if possible, a trip.  Or, being set up, a trip tomorrow?  Yes, the plan forms.  Not sure I can do more.  If no trip today, I will wash the troughs for the ducks, but not fill them until shortly before letting them in.  I like to offer cool water for them.  I don't think they need it.  I do think they enjoy it.  And... I enjoy happy animals.  The quacks and chirps tell me they are happy, as children playing in the bath.

As well, perhaps I can begin storing the canned foods, more of them, I recently bought.  Some for downstairs.  Some for up here.  Actually, all downstairs, a few brought up for the larder.  I have what I want, and is available, for now.  I will, from time to time, seek a few items which escaped my plans, such as 12 packs of no sugar added pears.  I have other such fruits, but really quite enjoy pears, and know they don't kick me out of ketosis or stir diabetes, even should I eat a bit too much.  There were a few things which simply either became too expensive or disappeared entirely.  Keto friendly or not, food just zips through.  I should only add some things toward the end of the month.  That one dehydrated coffee, that was fantastic... I miss that too.

Still, truly, a wonderful day.  Like it or not, you have probably received prayer.  Those who like that least, needed it the most.  You are welcome!  The devil, they say!  If... only you knew... even half the truth.  A devil's advocate who switched sides, if you... can't... perhaps shouldn't... believe.  I can't believe how nice it is, here, in late July.  Or how well I am handling it, even so.  Be well, blessings, and later.

A reasonable start.

.
.
To bed late, around 3:30.  I was up a bit later trying to get the cave to cool.  It worked, mostly.  It was 64° when I went on to sleep.  It was 68° when I finally woke, if just to shut everything down.  And, at noon, as I woke for good, it was 70° downstairs, in the main, and 71° upstairs.  Odd, as it is only 72° outside?  It sure seems warmer outside though, but the thermometer I trust says otherwise.  I didn't let the ducks out this morning, while opening.  An odd feeling said no.  I let them out when I woke this time.  Cats were fed earlier.

I don't have to make food tonight.  There is enough potato salad, of both types, for a snack though.  I really need to create a recipe.  Otherwise it is a bit too different each time.  I found my mechanical scale, for sure.  Now to find the electric.  I like having both.  Then putting it to use.  One hint on potato salad?  Always add salt to the potatoes while they boil.  Even if you don't peel them, all or first.  Though peeling a round from the front and back, even if you are keeping the peel in, would help to season the potatoes.  I tried it with skins on, and while it did get some salt, it didn't really get that... comforting profile.  Salt your dang tators!

I have a brot left.  That and a fatted tea should do for breakfast.  With the glucometer not working, I will take a blind medium dose of insulin with that, and keep my gluco-tabs on hand.  I don't think it will be an issue.  Then a shower, the dishes set back up, perhaps another load of laundry, a trim, and a shave... in a hurry.  I sure hope the stimulus goes through.  It looks like I need a new phone.  Ugh.  The rest would be used to buy supplies for rabbit hutches and a duck tractor, plus a few more animals as available.

It is a good day.  I think I missed heart medicine last night... the first missed dose since I started.  I may try to... fit it back in.  They say no, I... think it works and does some good.  Just... keep doses six or more hours apart if doing three doses, at least four hours if doing two more quickly.  Then don't do windsprints, olympic lifting, are chasing those young things.  Might not kill you, but it will wind you!  Though... some things might be worth the risk.  *grins*

I have been getting used to the keyboard.  I'd like to get a better keyboard, eventually.  It really is good to have a component that goes my speed.  This one, mostly, for now, keeps up.  But when I'm in a groove, or begin hitting my max, I'll begin tripping over this slow normy keyboard.  Not bad for an ogre, giant, nephilim.  I wear between double or triple x gloves, or used to.  Maybe sizing has changed and I have become more normal?  Still, big hands that can type... fast.  Then again, I impressed with my ps4 controller typing speed too.  Something strange about my nature?  Meh.  Everyone is... strange, one way or another.

It is a good day.  I will only be eating so as to dose.  No pain.  A bit of a trick to pull with medicine but that won't be a problem.  Not too hot, or cold.  It's a beautiful day.  The girls are letting me know they love me.  The ducks were a joyous ruckus.  And I will get going yet.  I'll take this day with a grateful prayer, among others... sending a few blessings, asking forebearances, for help with leadership, wisdom and graces for all and sundry, and such.  A bit of time, as usual, for hearing... listening.  What good is a prayer if there is no receiving time?  Get too busy after to hear!  Later.

Ribs.

.
.
Done.  As are the salads.  Well, with room for the meats to be finished off on the grill.  Probably, mostly, good enough now.  But they need heated no matter.  Why not grill.  I used barbecue sauce on half of them, for the boss.  With 18 grams of carbs per some iota of sauce, 17 g of which are added sugars, I... went happily without.  Of course, sampling the softer, cooked potato, potato salad was required.  Gotta spice it, check the spice.  But, just a taste.  Enough for tomorrow.  Both salads should be enough for at least two meals.

Of course, with the rain, really potentially more rain, and the possibility of wind?  Might not be dinner tonight.  Though, he could always stop by and eat.  Doesn't have to be getting out to eat.  I had initially thought they were pork ribs, but no... beef.  Both animals have quite good ribs.  I am learning how to cook them.  It isn't really by time, it's by tenderness.  But time gives a cook an idea about when to start checking.  I have a natural sense, that seems to work well with cooking.  It is what I used today, and to good ends.

I did patch the heel.  I couldn't really see what caused that problem.  Just pulling apart?  I... don't think so.  Did I step on something yesterday, while hurrying to get the ducks in and set up?  Maybe.  Or, maybe, while I was sound asleep, someone cut.  I told you, in certain stages of sleep, I wouldn't know.  Yesterday was nearly a 24-hour run.  I just... lost track of sleep, then had things to do.  Yea, I could be sorely hurt and not know it.  Still, it's patched.  That is helping, a bit.

Tomorrow I need to get to the bank, pick up a battery, perhaps an extra, for the glucometer, and maybe a few other things.  Stores are absolutely requiring masks.  I need to figure out how to adjust my masks, or sort out a new one... ones... that fit so that I can breath.  They... won't protect.  But... they don't protect.  If I had energy, I would attempt to find a lawyer to sue so that people either have to wear medical grade, actually functional masks, or go without.  It's companies, not the state, which are pulling this shit.  Hmm... gauze, loose silk, or other breezy masks?  Mats... I need mats.  Cloth of such sorts and ear strapping.  I wonder if any such comes in camo, army green, or... I dunno... something a little more manly.  Jo Anne's... just thinking out loud.  I would call, but I CAN'T!  Arghhhhhh!  I can look online, but I have... no idea what I am looking at.

Wind died down.  So I opened up a bit.  If it suddenly gets hot, I can close it down.  If not, it's enough to air out.  Sticky, even at 60° outside.  But it will do.  I did shoo the ducks in.  They were at the door to their enclosure anyway, so no major issue.  A dog... I heard one.  Too close.  I think they had too.  Three of them absolutely know what a dog can do.  The others may now have an idea.  If required, I will eat what I kill.  :p  Good enough for the Chinese, dog that is.  Later.

A start.

.
.
I had hoped to be going a bit faster in order to be to town.  Too late, I think.  Potato salad has been started.  Potatoes are peeled, largely diced, and cooked.  Onions are diced, small.  Oh, but something I remembered?  While cold cooked potatoes really don't work out with keto?  Uncooked do.  Not a ton of them, but a bit.  It has for me.  I am going to try that in the egg salad. Not every time, just... I want to see.

I have the ribs and brots thawed, and the oven heating.  I will cook those, mostly, in the oven.  The finish will be on the grill.  It won't take long.  Although the hurricane leftovers seem to be hitting, again, harder.  If that may well pass through quickly, as it did yesterday?  It started up around 19:30, then ran until about 21:15?  Give or take. Well, rain later?  Maybe?  I just... don't remember if it did rain during the night.

It has rained today, earlier this morning or last night.  That seemed to all but disappear from the ground and driveway.  Then it looks to be starting up again?  Or simple showers.  A lot of wind though.  I reset the hutch for the duckles, but have no idea where they are.  It is open, as well, in case they seek shelter.  I'm doing my best, but in crazy weather, it's difficult to know what they will do.  Chasing them is all but impossible, especially in bad weather to top it off.  I hope they find the hutch and get in.  I will check every hour or so.  The temp has dropped to 65° outside.  I'd love to open up, but the wind is 15 to 25 mph, with higher gusts?, a bit ago.  It's sounding heavier since.  While we don't get tornadoes, high winds can wreck things, trees, houses, roofs, and carry missiles.  Ugh.

Later.

Well? Not bad.

.
.
Nothing fancy, not great, but definitely not bad.  Save for my heel?  Yeah.  Somehow it tore, the skin, near the drier back strap of the heel itself, on the left foot.  How?  I... don't get that.  I will look more closely when I wake more fully, see about a heel patch.  For now I am limping and going slow.  But, that isn't a huge problem... unless it becomes one.  I'll... be cautious with this.

Sleep was fantastic.  I think?  If you don't know you slept?  I think that is a good sleep.  It also wasn't so deep and hard that I didn't roll.  No dreams I remember, but that isn't always an indicator of sleep quality, if it can impact it.  It was warm, all night, but just a bit.  And humid!  Ugh.  Neither of which impacted sleep negatively.  It was just... groddy to wake up into.  Hurricane muck.

I have two salads to try to make.  A potato salad and an egg salad.  Same ingredients minus potatoes in the latter.  I am... trying to figure out and return to keto.  It's a difficult thing while trying to juggle two menus.  It just is.  As well, ribs tonight.  Those ribs will feed two, handily.  And the whole rack cost less than either of our simpler meals at a drive-thru.  Plus, it is so much better.  I am making brots, too.  Not necessarily for tonight.

Medicine down.  I'll check blood sugar when something is ready to eat.  Eggs?  I have eggs ready, but... those are for the potato salad.  Hmm... need more for the egg salad.  Well, might as well boil a dozen.  So, I can eat the cold at will, or wait for warm.  Along with a fatted coffee, life would be good.  Oh, I am trying dehydrated coffee I can find.  Folgers was too acidic.  The other brand is okay.  So far.

The goal is just one fatted coffee a day.  Then tea, or even maybe a fatted tea.  Going lighter on fats, just what I need, not want.  Lowering caloric intake once I hit ketosis, if that keeps getting set back.  Gah!  It... will happen.  It is happening, slowly.  The temptations, while cooking non-keto and keto at the same time are horrendous.  That will either prove impossible, and pass, or will enhance my resolve.  It is heading to the latter, slowly.

It was 70° upstairs, downstairs in the main, and I thought outside if I need to recheck... the frontroom was 68°.  Hmm, one more limping slow check...  Nope, 60° outside, if that has already risen to 65°!  And humid!  It is 66% humidity, downstairs, according to the device I have down here.  If I have seen it even that high, I don't remember.  I certainly don't remember feeling it this tacky.  Still, this is as a more pleasant Iowa day.  A strangely dry one.

Oh... glucometer isn't working.  I am guessing dead battery.  Son of a gun but I am having trouble lately.  I decided to close everything down, as it was warming so quickly.  Even with the clouds.  This must be hot, and humid, hurricane and Texas air.  Little sun, but that doesn't matter a great deal.  If the air is warm, or hot, that will heat the place just as much.  I've seen it hit ~80° plus at midnight, due to hot winds.

Later.

No nap and just going down.

.
.
I just couldn't do it.  Things on my mind.

I had tracker on, on my phone.  It kept information about where it was.  It looks like it went to a neighbors, then on an odd path back.  Then on some trips, ending up in Idaho.  It seems... odd.  Time stamps, distance for mileage, strange things more than the paths.  I don't know what to make of it.  Something really bad is happening?  It sure seems odd.

It is still 70° outside, and thus warmer inside.  Upstairs might have cooled since last I checked.  With two ac's going gangbuster it was only down to 73° this afternoon.  Probably part of why sleep was out.  Extremely unusually comfortable with the temperatures, but... not completely... fully... tolerant.  I do what I can if that isn't always much.  Still, it is nice to be able to handle 82°, as I did.

We had the tail of the front push of a hurricane go through.  The next area/county over got the brunt of it... if radio warnings are to be believed.  We briefly had 20 mph winds and received very light smatterings of rain.  If more is likely on the way.  Ducks were in early, well before dark.  The girls were fed.  Myself as well.  Good night.

Meds, of all sorts, taken.  A shower gotten.  Time to sleep.  Good night.
