SiteMeter must need a medication change.  It suggests I average 70 visits a day but suggest I only get 500 visits a month.  Really?  One of us is lousy at math.  On top of that, the stats for the last two months have disappeared, it shows zero visits for May and July.  Something really weird is going on with them.  Their daily readings are more in line with Blogger.  As for G.A., I have pretty much given up on them.  I have received more comments from different viewers than they suggest even visited on some days, especially during haiku contests.  I would not call them accurate, or even close.  On top of that they don't count foreign visitors.  Up to a quarter of my visitors are foreign.  Without receiving spam lately either.  They are mostly Russian, with a smattering from Britain and a few other places commonly, along with some rare outliers.

But, come on.  With 70 visits a day, how can they suggest I only receive 500 visits a month?  It's not like I'm dumping on them, I'm merely wondering how an average, from their count, can produce a total like that.  New math?  Oh, I don't care.  I don't write the blog for visitors.  I've been adding a bit more music, since it seems popular, but that's about the extent of my involvement.  I haven't even tried to monetize, with a 'gimme money bro' cup, advertising, or anything else.  I don't want it to affect my writing, and it would.  Don't feed wild animals!  They become used to it, dependent on it, bitchy when they don't get their tips.  I've seen folk seemingly sell their soul for what probably only amounts to a few dollars.  Really?  Well, okay, but not my gig.

Ranting?  Like a raver!  Well, not really.  Just trying to figure out how 1.9k to 2.1k is reduced to 500, or less.  And why my stats are disappearing.  It isn't just the last few months.  The monthly view only shows this last week with everything before it going to zero, in spite of the running average.  SiteMeter must have some serious issues.  Oh well.  Another case of liberalism, government intrusion, something else?
