Little to big, for many years, decades really, I had fallen to reactionary living. If something would break or fail, replacement was quite difficult. I depended on luck, friends, and family. At the best, even when all was on my side, that didn't work well. Some options that had made life easier simply went away when failure or consumption was complete. I couldn't always think my way through to action, and then memory would consume even the memory of the want or need. This has changed.
Recently, for winter, I have added a pair of bath robes. Nothing fancy, but very hand for cool weather. As well, thicker pajama bottoms. Further, house slippers with bottoms that allow me to go out... if I surely would not wish to need to walk far in them. Summer is shorts season. I used to despise shorts, choosing to tough it out rather than diminish... in my eyes... stylistically. Thing is, I kept believing that regular shoes would do fine in the summer. But they don't, nor do regular slippers. Too hot. As with many things, resistance for various reasons, considerations all around, and various other obstacles kept me from digging in. Well, and the hassle, fear of costs, etc. Not this year. I decided, before it gets too hot, to begin my search for hot weather home, mostly, footwear. Cheap, yes. That was part of the goal. I will, probably, go a bit better, next winter, with slippers. Proof of concept was good, now to find slippers that don't stink so quickly, and maybe socks that work well enough... plus slightly larger slippers. One thing, this year, I hope to do is start with sandals that won't be awful. My first choice, and ordered just yesterday. A size 14, and a 13 in a slightly different style. No between the toe stink maker, adjustable, with a reasonable sole, not too much material... A problem solver, a potential one.
It is much better, life, when problem solving occurs. Oh, I know, a simple thing. And, some problems I tend much better than others. If, however, what needs to be tending is a weakness, or limits solution production itself, it is a bit more difficult. Some believe that they are good at problem solving, but really aren't. They are, quite often, just high reactive. Very often solving without weighing everything in the balance. I am often as such, though that is improving. Cost to solution ratio, true quality of the solution, how to add to the solution in a time, energy, thought, and cost effective manner, then better or worse through a whole list of possible addendums to a list of possible solutions. See, this sandal is just one part of a whole host of pieces. It is, as sandals go, in theory for now, of a solid enough quality that it won't cause foot odor or simply fall apart nearly immediately... it is useful for more than just indoors to a reasonable degree... it is cool enough, most likely, and due to the adjustability, perhaps can be worn with socks of burning is an issue for any amount of time outdoors... But it is just one part of a solution set, only some of which will be tended this year. Add in that shorts are now on the menu, larger and less covering shirts of various sorts are added in, and then the ac for this year... perhaps another one as well... and an whole house ac some time in the very near future. Bleh... problem solving, weighing the coins in one's pockets, and considering all else... tricky. Finally doable, to a degree. Small but important.
Eggs, of some sort. Maybe french toast. Perhaps french toast and eggs? Maybe. But just a bit. Two eggs, scrambled, two smaller orders of whole wheat french toast? Most likely. Right after I feed the girls, or they will meowl and meowrl the whole way through making my own breakfast. And they have been, mostly, patient this morning as I have been attempting to wiggle my way out of sleep and the chill that seems to remain regardless of what I do. After that, and a bit of time to let the food settle, I'll wash and reset the dishes. Later.
