This cold is getting out of hand.

.
.
Either I can't clear the nasal passages or I can't keep up with the discharge.  A minor headache, body aches, and even a bit of pain down the neck, as if from the infection.  I've had that before.  A minor fever from time to time.  Nothing too terrible, mostly just irritating.  Well, and it is keep me down.  Not falling down, just not quick to rise or act.

I had hoped to hit dishes, get a shower, maybe start on boxes.  I just don't have it.  I may take a short nap, see if that helps.  As I said, it isn't horrible.  A bit messy, slightly groggy, not the most active, but... livable.  Hmm... hot tea with honey, fresh sliced garlic, a dab of cayenne, and a touch of whisky.  Yeah, that has worked in the past.  Not too much of anything, though it certainly isn't for taste.  There might have been something else in there, if I can't remember for the life of me... tea brewed in chicken stock?  Something.  Yeah, no.  Not a party favorite, but it does work.  Though may be I am too far into the sickness for it to work.  I may try it.

The shoes arrived.  One pair will go back.  A size 13 fits easily, and really too big save for the variability of size.  Cotton socks will work fine with them unless it gets too hot.  Not sure then.  Could go barefoot in them, but that is not the best for a lot of reasons.

I did bother to make breakfast... more a brunch moving as slowly as I was.  Diced onion, sauteed.  Then eggs.  I used several, plus the whites left over from making mayonnaise.  I julienned two small pieces of salami and chiffonaded fresh basil, adding those when the eggs were nearly done.  Then, as a base, I plated one piece of munster, added half the scrambled eggs, then added a slice of havarti, covering that with the remaining egg.  Quite nice.  The only thing that would have really been a nice touch would have been fresh diced tomato.  I happened to have canned salsa.  Being the season it was good enough.  I wanted to make crepes, I just couldn't quite get into that much work.  When I get better I hope to make crepes, savory first off.  Though all a dessert crepe would take is fruit filling, perhaps a compote.  I've been thinking about making pure fruit reductions, using as little, or no, sugar, as possible.  Honey might work, though even that can be too much.  Pancakes are also in the queue.  I know, similar.  But not the same.  And I've just not really heard of savory pancakes, unless you go the potato pancake way.

I'll keep working.  I need to get better so I can get out and do some things.  Lots to do.  Business, church, social, health, physical... hiking!  I'll... keep at it.  Later.
