Not bad?

It's still rather warm, 82 near the machine.  It just isn't cool out there.  And there is no real air movement, other than the fan down here.  So, I won't be doing a lot.  I just won't stop, completely, either.

I got the dry items out.  Most of them put away right away, but the cookie sheets and a bigger cutting board needed a bit more time to dry.  So... it got it.  Then I set up the r.o. device.  With the freezertop being used for drying, there hasn't been room for anything else.  Now there is.  So I am running through.  I used the three gallons available, and was down to half a jug or so.  I now have three half gallons filled, plus a half.  Then I'll leave half in the carafe and fill the reservoir for when that is used.

As well, I got the new dishes and a few lightly soiled dishes into the bigger bin.  Mostly three packages of new items, from microgreeneries to grilling utensils, though there was an extra group I had forgotten about... a dome and cast press, for the flattop.  Though it would work in the gill, for some things... the cast iron press anyway.  I wouldn't risk flaming the stainless dome.  Then I got another smaller load, of very oily, greasy, pans and else.  Should get that finished sometime tonight.

Sassy was fed, her litter cleared.  She absolutely loves the new arrangement, especially with me keeping well up on it.  For some reason, she isn't eating treats.  It may just be, in the hotter weather, she just can't eat that all that well?  Perhaps dry food, of any sort, in 80 to 90 degree weather, is just too much to digest, so she doesn't eat it?  Maybe.

If it would cool, when it cools, I would like to get in and work on the boxes and items in the livingroom.  I want four or five boxes (or equivalent of stuff) sorted before even thinking of dishes.  Then I'll probably take a break first.

Oh, and those thirty eights, which used to be almost too small?  They won't stay up without a belt.  I think these are the thirty eights?  No, forties.  Oh well.  Still, those were a bit snug themselves.  Now they literally drop off.  As in fall, not slide, not collect $200, right to the floor.  I will have to try the thirty eights soon.  Next time I am upstairs.

Oh, since I am going slow, and it is so hot down here, I might go tinker with the sewing machine.  There are a few things I want to try... with the bobbin, and seeing if the dog feet can be lowered.  Something just isn't working correctly, with the system.  I'll... figure it out.  Maybe even tonight.  Now, while the bobbin winds oddly, it does work.  But, it doesn't get as much on as it should, being at a cant, angle.  About a forty five, so it really is missing about half to a third of thread it should be holding.  I... just don't like that.  Plus, I know it should work.  It does work, I'm just... not doing it correctly.

I may do that now.  Just... so warm down here.  I may even end up taking a nap.  Uhrm, no.  I want to get trash and recycling out, first, or it might not go.  Out and to the curb.  When I can do that, then I can go up and tinker with the machine.  Oh, and I had a bit of pork and chicken, and the last of the potatoes.  I was supposed to have that before bedtime, but I was crashing too hard.  Later.

Right.  While looking on y.t., I noticed a vid.  Curiosity.  But had fun watching.  The skills, and tools... if you are even a part-time fan of sewing, and have looked over equipment, and such?  This is like... these are the tools that started serious work.  But, all from a time when items were made for work by tools that were made to last.  It's... a beautiful thing.

When I complete my kit, I will have two machines that will do everything those machines do, combined.  Including making belt loops, from 1/4" up to 1".  If just in four widths.  Still, the games have changed.  Now, while my machines will not last as long or do as much, they won't be being used 24/6 for decades.  My machines will outlast me, and might well if I were a much younger man.  Oh, and mine are portable.  I think, combined, with kit, my two machines and accessories will weight, say, sixty pounds max?  May more in the forty range, minus accessories, so...

No, I thought that was cool as heck.  And it gave me ideas of some clothing to work on.  Both regular, and lined for winter... possibly experimenting with various levels of thickness of insulation.  Tricksy.  We'll see if I ever get to it, but my machines should easily handle those materials, and in up to six layers for small spots.  Just have to have a needle that can take it.
