I had... things for the ps4. For a long time. Just... couldn't get
to installing those things. An external hard drive, external ssd, and
internal ssd. Well, I finally tinkered and got the external drives
working. Then, had to tear it down to get the cooling problem
sorted. All good.
But, I decided, finally, to install the internal ssd. Which,
hardware-wise, is about a tenth as difficult as a complete tear down.
Actually, only one panel needs to removed (no screws with that part).
Then, one screw to remove the drive sled, then four screw to remove the
original (hard)drive. Then installing the new drive, an ssd, in reverse.
That... isn't what stopped me. It is backing up that hard drive, then
reinstalling that "drive picture" onto the new drive. Seemed...
complicated... programmy. Not my cup of tea. Still, seeing what
else I did, I decided to hit it today. So, as I write, the original
drive, while still in of course, is being backed up. Takes... a
bit. But, whatever. When that is done, all I have to do is shut
the machine off, replace the drives, and then start up and put the backup to
use by installing on the fresh drive.
As well, I purchased an memory extension for the ps5. AFTER I set that
up, in a bit, I will, after handling the ps4, I will install the extra
memory. The ps5 has an ssd, but it's smaller. This will nearly
quintuple the storage on the machine. And, it is just as fast as the
memory already onboard. But, this time? I'll... have it ready to
go from the getgo. No more waiting years to get things installed and
going.
I know, I know. Sometimes I forget, or get lost, or get ill then things
get... slid off to the side, or hidden under other things. It sucks to
be so close to death sometimes. Heck, I can't even play games all the
time, because even that is too much, to hard on me, difficult.
I have had to learn that wherever I am, there I go. I start from there,
with what I have, while I have it. It's as good as it gets. I...
don't mind, finally. It's messy, slow, a slog. But, as mentioned,
this is what God has left to me, seemingly asked me to endure, and possibly
more? So? I try to do more than just endure. I attempt to
enjoy. And, some days, like the last few, even if I didn't... say every
single little tiny syllable no, but basically...
Basically. And, really, I... am my own king, of my own little
world. It doesn't include anyone else. It doesn't need to include
anyone else. Not within my domain. Hmm... it's good, even when it
isn't. I have learned to humbly suffer well. A... good thing to
know. No, not really a pastel kingdom, lavender save that doesn't quite work. Men can't be women. Though some might suspect such. I quite like dames, and... just as things are. Even if I don't have one, at the moment. I certainly... have had them.
So, yes. Doing a few things. Too high of a risk of rain to mess
with the window. But, hopefully, that will happen soon. Tearing
out the old, putting in the new. Oh, I need a better hammer drill for
that. I... had been offered to use one, checking on that now.
Always something.
My mother called. Just a quick update. Saying... update is
forthcoming. I then called my brother. Hello! Click.
But he called back. Just to let me know he was getting in the
shower. Had to laugh. Okies. I'll... be waiting. Just
tinkering while I wait, anyway.
Oh, and the new shower seat arrived. I put it together, and have it
ready to try. Hope this one is sturdier. Shorter, but with
crossbeams. It should be sturdier. Just not quite as comfortable
or tall for seating. Everything is give or take.
Sassy is terribly hungry today, so I... look... if she begs, out of character,
several times? I'll feed her. If she just does a beg check, that's
one thing. If she pesters? She is hungry. I'll feed her
extra, sometimes, for that reason.
Well... on to check the first machine. Change out the hdd for the ssd,
and get it all reset. Then some gaming. Then to the ps5.
Yes, I am excited to see what it can do. But, for now... one thing at a
time. I want things done before I trip over myself while trying to do
too many things at once. That's never a good program, for me. I am
a terrible multi-tasker.
