Remnant II

.
.
Okay, a review.  A first review.  Based on both my new start of the game, and memory of previous sessions.  I will rehash this game, as I attempt to sort it.

Complexity.  Did I mention that.  Right.  From figuring out how to make a giant crow move, by triggering something some distance away, to figuring out how to even kill some mini bosses (one can only be killed by shooting the bombs he throws at you... but he only throws those at some distance away, and those can only be shot in direct line of sight with him directly in front of you, among possibly other requirements).

Every other to every third boss and mini boss is a trick boss.  There is a way to kill trick bosses.  But it is usually something you would never figure out.  As with some traps, and events.  You simply have to look the boss, event, or trap up.  Further, if you try the event or trap, and mess it up?  You can't redo it.  Unless you completely restart into a new game.  I hope you didn't need that drop?

As well, each boss, mini boss, even zone may need you to tailor your character.  Perhaps you need to use a sniper rifle, shotgun, or go melee.  You may want to add armor, or reduce it.  And the zone and boss and mini bosses may each require vastly different setups.  Which is a bear when first starting.  Even now, I have limits as to how much I can change things, due to not having even close to most of the gear and weapons.

As mentioned?  I have hundreds of hours tied into this game, on one character.  I would say there isn't enough items and else to actually create a true build, just a lower to mid level simpler build, that with some serious focus on obtaining the right items.

And, as I mentioned, going through the game, such as it is, and I am, is brutal.  Always.  More of a survival scramble than what most people think of as gaming.  I'd say Dark Souls has had a deleterious effect on gaming.  Fun, some of that.  Just not every game, every way, with complexity and such every time.

This game would take steady play, for years, to obtain some limited success.  As is, it is just a timekiller.  It'll do.  I am doing studies, reviewing vids, reading articles and posts, looking for a better path.  I... don't think there is a good way through.  The game is pure grind, start to stop.

Later, or good night, actually.
