If I was to advise a daughter?

.
.
I think there might yet be hope.  For some of the young.  Boys were, are, and will be boys.  They haven't, aren't, and won't change.  Better, they have learned, to walk than accept an impossible leash... most of them.  Girls are the trouble.

My advice would be to find a man who isn't afraid to work, fight, or fuck.  Figure out how to be in his sphere.  Learn him, what he likes, wants, and where he wants to go, what he wants to do, who and what he wants to be.  then decide if that matches your plans and goals.  Not someday, not hypothetically.  Today, or thereabouts.

If it is, begin dedicating your life to his plans.  Give up the options you have otherwise.  Direct your efforts toward helping him.  Becoming indispensable.  Understand it may not work.  Tastes, variances, else.  Keep trying.

Once wed, understand that is just the beginning.  You didn't win.  You just started.  Now, give your all to him.  Is he too busy?  Let him know you appreciate his efforts, even, especially, if it is breaking your heart.  Does he cheat?  Forgive, but don't do likewise.  Is he short with you?  Be patient.

is it fair?  Life isn't fair.  You, he, aren't the whole of it.  Not even the family.  In time, you might understand.  Hopefully, in time, so will he.  Perhaps your children, grandchildren, greats.

Be the best wife on the planet.  He will know.  God will know.  If humble in it, as it, in time you will be sanctified by it.  If that isn't your game?  If you want instant gratification?  Become a hooker, or slut if the money isn't part of your needs.  Do drugs, so your life won't be so long.  Get a pet, a small dog or cat, not more than two.  And go your own way.

Just understand, by 30, or 35, the thing is over.  Even those ages are pushing it.  Same with tattoos, addictions, tyrones (especially if tagging his, or really any, kids), and diseases from questionable life choices. Well, and possibly a few other things (piercings and blue hair, possibly).

Make your choice.  Then go forward knowing options slowly or quickly go away.  No one will have sympathy for choices you obviously knowingly willfully made.  Don't regret your life.  Choose it, now.  Tomorrow.  And every day after.  Good or bad.
