But it sucks. The deal is, my friend wanted me to pick him up a pack of cigarettes. Which, in most situations, would be fine. The problem is he is on the patch, nicotine patch. The combination is very bad, using tobacco and using the patch together can easily cause an overdose which can cause a heart attack. I had thought to use his sister as an excuse, and I did call her. She said I could use her as cover, and I really thought about it. But then, no. She admitted to having scared off his other friend, the one who was bringing him cigarettes. Since she has some influence in his medical treatment, I asked that she see if they would raise the strength of his patch since he still has powerful urges. The stronger patch is what I have to start out with, it has worked for me.
So, I am going to just come clean with my friend and tell him I couldn't bring him cigarettes with a clear conscience. I will also take him some hard candy. It ain't much but it is the best I can do with regards to his request. It would be easy to just say his sister jumped my case, it would be even easier yet to just not show up and avoid, sort of. But that's not how I roll I guess. Sometimes being me sucks. But, since I have found this way, even if life isn't easier, I don't have things from recent history popping out at me, in my mind. I don't have lies to remember, fibs hanging over my head, "understandings" with people. Just... the realities of life as they are, not as I had hoped they would be and fudged to make them so. Still sucks.
Well, on to town. Have a good one too.
