Breathing is difficult.

.
.
It has been worse, but it has been a whole lot better.  Just getting up to go to the bathroom, or feed Sassy, or check the temp, will end with me tuckered out, breathing heavy, hoping I don't pass out.  Though, really, I haven't come close to that... in the last day or two.  But, for a few days, yea.  I really... wondered if I was going to die trying to get air in.  Though, it is still... troubling.

I had to bring in water.  Perrier went crazy, price-wise.  So I had to find something else.  I like it, I think better.  Even it has gone up a lot.  Can't drink it as often as I'd like, but... it's something.  Look, it's cheaper than food, for as much filling as it offers.  And, at my weight, as long as I get some regular food, and vitamins plus minerals, I can go without food to some degree.  Anyway, but that stuff is heavy.  In.  I need to get it down to the basement, too.  Ugh.

Cheese, earlier.  With coffee.  Skipping salami.  Just having cheese every other to every third day, salami once a week.  This isn't my favorite salami.  The kinds I knew and liked simply weren't available.  Next I'll have kefir.  Oh, and perhaps the last of the roast, or nearly.

I was thinking...  A steak, for me, of late, has been costing between $5 and $10 a steak.  And, the $10 steaks usually manage to do two meals.  But... we'll say they are a meal per, and mostly $10 per, but call it say, $8.50 per meal.  Now, that is my whole meal.  Unless I have a fifty cent potato with it once a week.  Fine, $9 a meal.

Sounds expensive, but that is my most expensive meals, had twice a week.  Pork is usually bought at an average of about $4 a pound.  Similar with burger.  Eggs are less, even with bacon.  I don't have veggies, canned or fresh, which is averaging around $4 a pound?  More if you buy it in the can.  Salad, while a veggie, was often another add.  And, of course, butter and salad dressing was needed.  Homemade is less expensive, but it still costs.

Just one veggie, the meat, a salad, and anything else?  And, keeping fresh on hand.  Veggies go bad so very fast.  I have definitely spent more replacing veggies than I have on meat.  Though, too, a lot of meat has gone bad.  I have been being so very careful, though, these last few years.  No extra.  Tight.  Hard.  Harsh.  But, eating meat, I will argue, is far cheaper than eating a mix of meats and veggies.

Now, I have been getting some serious sales.  And I have been being careful with the meats.  Even so, I was a bit surprised.  The only thing I have on the side is kefir, oh and sometimes nuts.  Though, to be honest?  Nuts, walnuts, hazlenuts, whatever?  Those are... mostly, to me, much like meats.  Only meats which are basically shelf stable, and can be eaten in small portions... if they do provide an amazing amount of calories.

Yes, I think going more carnivore... ketivore really... was the best way.  Sure, veggies still find their way to my plate, but that is more of a... treat.  A rare thing.  Veggies are my cheating.  My problem is I haven't been able to keep up on pulling meat, thawing it for meals, and cooking.  So I have been... eating whatever is easy, what I can.  Health just isn't allowing more.  But, I'll get back to it, when I can.

Oh, the thing I want to do with soup?  Use the cheese rinds while that heats.  I have been saving those, in a little baggy in the fridge.  I may try a soup today, with some of the leftover beef chuck.  I wanted to add cheddar, but I want to try the bettererer cheese rinds, mixed.  Just... curious.  And hate to waste that stuff... at the price.
