Slightly better.

.
.
Far from even as solidly imperfect as a while back.  But, better than the last two days.  Mostly.  My torso feels like it has been crushed, somehow.  Breathing is still strained, shallow.  Phlegm returns, but is released well enough, when I... realize it is the problem.  I almost always feel short of breath, though.  Just, with the snot shot out, getting some air is... easier.

The ac got the upstairs down to 72/73 near me.  I turned that off while waking at about 22:30.  Opened the windows, turned off one of the thans, the other on.  Then, downstairs to open up and get fresh cooler air in.  It is 73/74, or the opposite?  Okay, the front room is the warmer room.  Outside is around 63.

I lit some fans, opened windows a crack, and am hoping that will help some.  Loud, in here, but it could be worse.  Could be hotter, and loud.

Still fireworks going off?  All good.  I may not love my government, but I love my country, and some of what my fellows do, and especially celebrate.  It actually lends hope that things will be resolved, maybe before I die.  Time will tell.  They were going off earlier.  And while I couldn't get up, go look, I could hear and feel the reverberations.  A stone home is a telegraph, I enjoyed as a blind man might enjoy braille.

Oh, but my ribs?  Brutal, and torso.  It honestly feels like I was run over, or kicked by a mule, or squeezed nearly to death by an anaconda.  Seriously, have no idea why that is so bad.  Bruised, which makes breathing difficult at well.

I almost wonder if I haven't caught "covid" or whatever that is.  Just going through a bit of it.  Or even just the flu?  Ah-ha!  I know what might help!  Thanks mom.  Vix, smeared around the nose, the nostril intakes?  Hmm... let me...  Ah!  Yes, that... helps.  That sure opens things up.  The lungs, currently, have limits.  As to how much they can take in.  But, maybe this and keeping phlegm out, might help?

Oh, and I didn't need the sleeping back trick as I did yesterday.  I could sleep just on pillows.  The sleeping bag elevated my head above the body, making breathing easier.  But, it hurt my ribs.  Breathing took priority, but just.  So, not doing that is... a good thing.  Oh, painkillers... should help too.  I don't need a bigger dose, just the usual.  The pains are small, but manifold.  Uhrm, smaller?  Yea, I'll try a smaller dose.  If it still hurts in the morning, I'll try aspirin.  Want to have some of that onboard anyway.

Well.  Hope your 4th was a gooder one.  Alone or in a group, with family, friends, or out.  Hopefully with time off, but not great need for that either.  It's... the idea, sometimes, that counts... and double or triple overtime ain't bad.  Or... just doing... what Americans do.  Or used to be known for.  Working, hard work, and limited remuneration often.  Be well.
