Awake far too early.

.
.
It was a couple of things which disturbed me.  The leg wound was howling, hurting, angry.  I have let it go for a week, without bothering it.  In spite of showing through, bleeding fairly obviously.  As well, it seems warm?  The temp only read 74 up there, near me.  And only 70 in the main, with the ac and a fan running.  Which is pretty normal.  Not the coolest, but definitely not the warmest.

It must be the humidity?  Hmm, down here it is only reading 44%.  Which, given that it seems to be in some form of inversion or weather system moved in, on top of a sense of the monsoon beginning to show?  Really, that isn't particularly high either.  It sort of has the feel, in the air?  Sort of, but it isn't reading as humid, or particularly humid?  It hasn't been the driest of summers.  Nor the wettest, by readings.  The rain from a few days ago, week ago, is gone.  What is here is from whatever weather front moved in, or... whatever that is.

Down here, it is 74 in the main, 78 up front (with it open and the fan going since I went to bed), and still 73 outside?  Very strange.  It's gotten warm, and will stay that way until whatever weather moves in breaks.  It's sort of keeping it warm.  Though not terrible?  Very strange, in a way.  Sort of like a monsoon bubble that just won't pop and pour, so it's using the humidity to maintain temps that are higher at night, and lower if still warm during the day?  Not... at all unlikely, though as rare as any other weather system that might move through.

Funny how the weather is frequently different from anything in the last few years, but... exactly as it is, off and on, for the last two hundred years?  Not even a trick, more a memory thing.  If you have any sort of memory, you have seen it all before, at some point.

I did change the dressing.  I tried a simple 4x4 breathable, with honey in the wound bed, and 2x2 gauze over that, as padding.  But the area that covered, for the adhesive, was sore.  To be honest, I think that is what hurt.  So I took that off, replacing it with a 6x6.  The adhesive side strips on that aren't overlapping where the initial adhesive had been.  Better, a bit better and improving beyond.  Oh, but that hurts, sometimes.  I'll just let that go until I see the doctor.

However, from now on, if he doesn't mind, I will give it nearly a week.  Then put a 6x6 back on for a day or two.  Then let it go back to the air tight sealing dressing for the last six to seven days.  Just leaving it alone, mostly.  We'll see.  I'm doing my best.  This seemed to look better?  But, being late, being tired, hurting, and at that angle, I just can't be certain.

Blood sugar is still 114?  Crazy.  But I'll take it.  Coffee is brewing.  As well, I'll finish off the rest of the steak.  Love that steak.  I'll tinker, as the wound relaxes, from being bound, as it tries to breath.  Just enjoy my meal, see if the internet is awake, or someone on it aware, as I drink and eat.

Hopefully back to bed before too long?  Later.  Or goodnight, again.

  1. Salmon thawed, not feeling it, following ribeye. Maybe a nasty beef& bean burrito, melted cheese, and sour cream. Because I can...
Household "family" dynamic changing, nobody talks to me, and I try not to care. Important milestones passed, gone, no-one thought to ask if I wanted to be involved. Last spawn left for a University, yesterday. Got a "Bye" and a halfassed wave as they walked out.
Went out for a hug, made it just in time to see them drive away... They'll never know...

"What if this is as good as it gets?"

  2. Don't let it get to you. Don't hate. Let it go. This is what kills a lot of guys, if they let it. Don't. Refuse to let it.

The world is teaching the young that men are the problem. If they get their way, they will be living in mud huts, without electricity, plumbing, or else. They can't do it. Hell, a lot of men can't, won't, do it... anymore.

But, that isn't your problem. Which is... why I haven't married an American woman, won't.

I looked at the salmon. Didn't see any wild caught. Stuck with beef. If I can find wild caught, that looks good, has a right date on it, and smells good, I'll try some. I'm hankering for raw, with lemon and capers. But it has to be exceptional for that. Which is often... $2x a pound. Could do small bits, if they will cut it. But they won't always cut.

Actually, I'm not seeing any wild caught good fish, by US fisheries, at anything like a right price. And I look, every time I step into any store. I won't buy China, or even Vietnamese, or asian in generally (probably rebranded Chinese). Even have to check "American". It... isn't always as it seems. Ask questions.
