A brutal wake. Not sure what all pulled me from sleep. The cats were battering the door. A doorbell, knock, or both... I need to test the doorbell, the sound itself seemed to melt. Hmm, a Dali sound to go with one of his clocks? Either it needs to be replaced or I was dreaming. Low voltage, shouldn't be a major operation. I had to go to the bathroom. And what I suspect is a final build up of phlegm was wanting to be expelled. And it really wasn't time to wake, with just five or six hours down. I fought what I could, as long as I could, but finally came out swinging. The girls know to avoid me... if not really. Play good and just don't goof.
I couldn't stay angry with them. Their feeding time, for wet canned, has been right at noon for quite some time. Couldn't really be angry for long, things just happen and compile. While I really wasn't bodily ready to wake, I did want to be awake. I like feeding the girls regularly. I prefer to bring packages in quickly. As to having to cough out spittle while holding in pee... I don't always agree with the jokes God set our bodies to play on us, but I see humbling humor in them. Just laugh, when you can breath without problems in other areas. Thankfully it wasn't a gas too. Toot?
Sleep was good. Pain is gone for now. If I do feel some kinship to jellyfish, wet rags, and unfinished custards. I would guess most people hit this stage the day after the massage. It just takes me a bit longer, at the start. Now I am at the relaxed pleasure stages. It is good. I suspect phlegm really needed to be pushed out. More will have to go for the next few runs. I really should figure a way to swim again. That would help keep the lungs freer and functioning. Let me get massages and feet ordered first. Were to go that is safe from gas theft...
Today? Tearing down boxes, wherever they may be. I'll just do that until I am sick of boxes, do as many more as I can, then switch to kitchen duty. I want to check the mail tonight. Best feed sourdoughs. Oh, and the equipment which allows sprouting in half gallon mason jars is in. That is for wheat. Why? Using quart jars means only filling half full. Can you imagine how many quart jars it would take to get three to four pounds of wheat sprouted, or over how long? Doable but either using four to six (or more) rather than two half gallon jugs, or using two over and over, losing nutrition while building stocks and the dehydrator would be running all the time. I don't think those last long. So, after boxes, or for a break, I'll get regular wheat sprouting. One at a time. I'll have to break into one of my pails, probably winter white, soft? Something.
I don't know if I'll end up short circuiting early or not. That won't make a difference. I'll just crash if needed, then pick up wherever I left off, even if I crash several times. I'll keep at it. Dinner? Not yet and don't know quite yet. Burger, beans, salsa, and milk sounds good enough.
Regular wheat is different enough to merit it's own video. This is pretty much my goal. Yes, I have bannetons and a bread lame. Perhaps not pearl handled in .45, but wicker, linen, stainless, and olive wood, if that will do? Not for today. Though as I begin sprouting some wheat I will grind other wheat for regular simple sourdough loafs, probably to start tomorrow.
My soap making kit and supplies are in. But that is for next week, or... later, or sooner or later. The big expense is the tools. I, at least, don't wish to mix and match consumption and soap tools and cookery. After that it's just supplies, which aren't expensive. I'll end up making both bar and liquid, and for various uses... a new skill, plus with variability. I did suggest I needed hobbies. Why not make them functional hobbies?
Later.
I wonder and sometimes worry. Herein lie those ponderings with perhaps some editing but still in their truer forms. Whisper as well, though in truth, whispers are just that, rustlings in the wind and nothing more. It is kind to not be alone with one's own whispers.

Actually, yes.
.
.
While it wasn't that much, it really was. It took me since that last post to get it done, finishing with a shower, neck down. I hate going to bed with a wet head and didn't think I'd be awake long enough for it to dry. Just washed yesterday and dry 'shampoo' will do the trick. I even fried pork chops and baked potatoes. They were too dated to be anything more than just something. Not bad, just no greatness left to them.
Dishes, ground flour, stirring and feeding of one sourdoughs, which was given too little earlier. I have been running a mean kitchen. While I will stumble I'll dust off, fix it, or otherwise keep at it. I think I'll get a reasonable portion of the list whenever I wake up for good today.

Hold on. I am not finished. Most of the dishes. More than I thought, recycled the water kefir grains... just dumped the 'water'. It just isn't working out, so far. Too cold, to inconsistent, both? I've not been able to second ferment to fizzwater. It may just be that the grains take a while to become active enough, which requires more heat, consistently, than I can give them. Hmm, could turn the heat on in the en suite. But that heat costs through the nose. And I'd likely forget.
Ran out of energy, for the moment. Still hoping to finish the dishes, grind spelt and mix the sourdoughs, and maybe get a shower in. Then sleep well. I will be satisfied with the efforts. Tomorrow boxes, sorting, and surfaces. Still a light day, but with direction in advance. Perhaps I can get it all, maybe more, perhaps not. Whatever, but the plan is created if I can use it.
Ever get the feeling vultures are watching. Ever wonder what expression a group of vultures gets when they realize they are the prey? *grins* Just... a strange feeling. As if someone(s) is preparing the grave, the next grave, I will be exiting. They really never learn.

Just a nap.
.
.
Longer than a typical nap, but not ten hours down after a few awake, either. Sleep was as good as it should be, if a pillow between the knees and careful placement of my neck and shoulders to start, then every time I rolled or shifted. It takes focus to do that while sleeping. I think that I can do it has something to do with dream control. I have to put it in my mind before sleep and consciously focus even while technically still asleep, but I can do this and a few other different things. Never tried to do several things at once, have some doubts, but I have been wrong before.
Most aches and pains are rounding off, softening. I forgot to take aspirin but will now. I need a stronger easement which requires something. The less I take it the more effective it is. Oh, since cold wasn't working, I have gone back to higher heat. I think, for now, that is the ticket.
Oh, and popcorn for a snack, perhaps a show. I don't know what youtube has done, exactly. What I do know is I don't like their "random generation pops", so there is no reason for me to bother. They want to screw around, even with music, based on politics, they can go without my patronage. They have even jiggered with my "watch again" selection.
A called home. A snow, and ice, storm there. Half a day of work today, probably none tomorrow. Plus her street is sheet-ice. Not much I can do. Did find out when the trip is. She wanted me to arrive just a few days before heading out. I was thinking more like a week ahead. If I get back in shape, since it won't be high summer, I can acclimate better by helping with dishes, laundry, and else stuff... so I'm not a full load drag of a visitor. Heck, I don't think my mother has had a souffle. Hmm, though I best work on getting more flavor in those.
We won't be staying even a week. Not sure if I will be staying at my brother's house, there may not be room. It'll be very short, probably busy, as they will be moving shortly thereafter. I'm not sure if a family reunion will be in the planning stages when we return. For next year, hopefully in the spring, if so.
Not sure if the uncle and aunt, a brother and sister of my mom, will be going or not. Would be nice if I... have my doubts. I sure hope so, but I know how things go. For me too sometimes. Yeah, I really know.
Hmm? I had best consider wardrobe. I have nice clothes but the sizing is awful. If they can't be sized they need to be replaced. I am guessing replaced... 46 or 44 down to 40 or 38. And my dress shirts fit as sails. Oddly, my sport jacket still fits, if I can find it. Yes, losing in the right places. I'd love a right suit, but timing and money, and continued losses? I should get in and check. Half down up front, a month to process? Maybe. Room in money and time beyond the givens, if just. Ugh. At least reasonable slacks, a shirt or two, and a proper dress belt? If I can find the jacket. Bleh. Money, money, money.
Oh, what to get for gift. Mother will say $20 in card. No, mother. At least books for a session, as a minimum. A $100 won't clear that. She gives bits all the time, doesn't realize how much she gives.
Well. To aspirin, popcorn, a movie, then dishes, boxes, and the kitchen? That is the plan, hope. I haven't fallen further behind than dishes, mostly. I think I can catch up in a day, and grind well beyond in a week, if I can crunch the tasks. Later.

Food helps.

Not up to serious cooking. While oatmeal hadn't been soaked, in a pinch going without works. I just needed something solid and slow to digest. Pork chops seemed too harsh. Even oatmeal seemed too much. Between being easy to cook and the softest on the stomach of options I could put together the choice was made for me. That and a handful of crasins, plus milk, and I am feeling like turkeys used to, right before baking.
I may head back to bed. I am getting better. Everything is easing. A day or two more? Who knows. Well, and I did a lot of work last week. There is that. Sleep again for sure. Later, good night, whatever.

Just a bit better.

Sleep from the last post until now. I've been strategically placing pillows, will begin taking aspirin, as well as a few other tricks I have learned when suffering isn't getting me anywhere or I have cause to set it aside. Why not always attempt to put the pain away? To do that would take addictive and illegal drugs. I'd rather the pain, mostly used to it. Though, if I think there is a cause and a cure, or even a temporary way out... which isn't worse in the long run immoral or illegal, I might give it a shot. Actually even, as with massages, if they cause a few steps back at the start.
Some try to say the government shouldn't be involved. Just look at the death rates and it is obvious that the government has to be involved. Unfortunately, because of graft, the only real involvement by the government is keeping the prices stable. That makes their cut more reliable and gives away the little fish dealers when it's time to cull their numbers. Still, to some degree, it makes use prohibitive for more.
Cold. That often helps with recovery. Not so much this time. I don't know if it is the basis, aging, or something else. The cold is helping sleep, which usually helps restore... perhaps just sleeping to deep. Pillows placements, careful neck alignment, that might be the trick. I'll figure it out. Right after a nap? Phftftf.
The wheat and carts arrived. While not truly heavy, in my current state and with some weight to them, they offered fair resistance. Which I believe to be a good thing. I don't know when I will get to the carts, though sooner is better. Then my kitchen machinery will all be available withough a ton of juggling. As to the wheat, I'll hit the spelt first. The einkorn is in four, 5 pound, sealed and gassed bags.
Actually, as soon as I can get back to things, I'd like to get an up-to-date blood sugar meter, then grind regular and spelt wheats, then sprouted, using it for bread, eating two slices daily for a week (each made fresh, from as absolutely fresh ground or/and sprouted and ground flour). After those I'll hit einkorn similarly. Overkill for most people, might not be enough for me? Time will tell.
One thing about even home ground and more so sprouted grains is that you have to use it quickly. Or you lose the nutrients you have worked so hard to obtain. Once sprouted, more so sprouted and ground, the nutritional degradation is vastly accelerated. Just a warning I see missed in many vids. Too long out and you almost might as well be, nutritionally, back to bleached white. Don't say I didn't warn you. If you are going to the bother and expense then finish it out right. Freezing after each process stage will buy some time. But don't think months... weeks. Yeah, it's a tough racket.

The shower helped. I collected trash and got that out. I fed the sourdough. I took care of the cat litter and fed the girls. Too tired and sore for much else. I will be going back to bed shortly. I sure hope I get better at handling massages soon. It took a while the first time. Just staying awake to drive home used to be the first trick.
Sore here and there. Some of it from the massage, some of it from excessive sleeping? Some if it from sleeping too sound, not rolling. I'll stick with it, it really did lower bp to normal or near-normal levels, and that was without medication I think. It was before they diagnosed me with heart disease.
As for the feet, those are healed from nipping and such. They fit in boots and shoes without background pains I am only noticing by their absences. All good. I am, with the nails trimmed so well, able to dig under the nails better. Between her and myself, my feet might really get in super shape quickly. It seems, with my second biggest toes, the weird nails aren't from fungus or infection. After a bit of talking I probably know why. I claw my feet when walking, and when pain encroaches. It's a coping method, as chewing my teeth once was as well. I have... quite a few little tricks. It seems there are costs to all of them.
Good night.

I keep crashing.
.
.
Sore, tired, zapped, drained. Ah, but I figured out some of it. I used to only do half hour sessions, at the masseuse. These are full hour sessions, their minimum. I knew there would be a duty attached. Not surprised. The pedicure adds to it. I will keep them together as planned, but may separate them already. Too much. It will complicate things for a bit. At least I can reschedule, schedule based on my timing, and such. I have been more stable lately... my days and nights aren't always right, they just aren't perpetually changing.
Oh, another thing, massages shake up the g.i. Not a bad thing. Just something to realize. Not nearly as bad as the first few times. Not bad, actually, at all, this time. Simply a mild realization. And bloody noses, until my body gets used to it. Glad I didn't go with deep tissue. I may hold off on that for several more sessions than planned.
I did look the feet over, after getting enough rest in. They are even better than I had thought. I am amazed at how much she got off the heels, and other places. The skin around the toenails, the angles of the toenails, all of it. I can clip, just not well. And I didn't trust myself to take the skin off near the nails. It hurt a bit while she did it, but I wasn't about to complain. She had a good angle of sight, the right tools, little risk of slipping as I do when I have tried, plus experience. To be honest, I think I'll be able to walk more correctly, and without pain. One of those little pains I shove to the back of my mind, don't directly feel.
Dinner wasn't all that good. The beef wasn't warm enough, the cabbage wasn't my favorite sort... none of it was warm enough actually. I may have to use the microwave or figure a better way to warm leftovers. That just won't do.
I ended up going back to bed after the meal. I just woke up again. Good thing I didn't have anything planned. I Couldn't have done anything. Still recovering. Later.

A rough night.
.
.
I suspect the message is still doing it's thing. My systems are... unusual. I think I remain tense in a seemingly relaxed way. Which means messages don't do their thing as quickly with me. If I had to guess, I would say the message is half to two thirds finished. After it finishes, then I can recover. It might sound like a story, I don't think it is. I forgot from last time, but now remember something along these lines.
Things are tightened which must loosen again. Things have been moved, shifted, and need to find their places again, from organs to joints to muscles. Well, and now sleep is getting into the dead zone. Which means I risk sleeping without rolling. Too much rolling is bad. Too little fussing is worse. Definitely too little last night, if recovery is faster than usual.
The roast was very good. I'm warming it for a second go. I found another ingredient which went in with the rest, mushrooms. I love those things. Time to eat. Today is mostly rest and recovery. Dishes, a shower, and getting trash out otherwise. Zapped. Later.

A lamb chop and eggs.
.
.
Various spices, mostly tarragon cinnamon and ginger. Honestly it seemed right. Eggs were, well, eggs. You can do interesting things with eggs. As to taste and texture eggs will always, and just, be eggs. You can make them more or less palatable. You simply can't turn the drawbridge into the grand keep. Still, something to bolster the other, really.
Still hungry. I have the roast counter-curing. Lettering salt, pepper, and a few other herbs and spices soak in as it gets to room temp. It helps beef, from the finest steaks to the cheapest roast. Salt, pepper, and garlic if you can keep in American. A few others if you know what you are doing, or don't. With the roast, potatoes, onion, cabbage, and rutabaga. I keep thinking of mashed potatoes but it's too much, especially just for me.
I would like to sleep but I am too hungry. That bite of a chop and eggs just didn't cut it.
Too little, too mild. I won't swear to it but, save for the veggies, I feel as if I could eat the whole roast. I'd sure like that, save for the overfull sensation which doesn't allow good rest. No, I'll have a good portion of all, far less than my eyes say, and have three or four meals yet from it.
Good night.

Good night.

Blasted.

After the last post I spun out and crashed. Could not stay awake. I am just waking back up. I don't feel bad, didn't then. Like a plane losing it's wings, only one way to go. Sleep was good. Woke with wet lungs. Perhaps I haven't been taking medicine as regularly as I though. Massages will help. The two together would be better. I can tell a masseuse can hurt with her hands, just as I could heal. Not as likely, it's just to have what it takes for one, you can see to the other.
Whatever is happening with youtube, thus google, is bad. Expect getting shut down, erased, at any moment. It won't stop with them. They are doing all sorts of things. They are either in serious trouble, and flailing like a wounded beast, or they have been assured globalists are running the show, so they have no legal fears. I think they are being set up to be left to the mob. Get ready for the largest tech inversion in history. Not just in America. Though, as with global temp drops, you won't hear about it from elsewhere. Governments are realizing they are also on the tech chopping block. Not good with nuances, but governments are amazingly splendid at clay-fisted brutality. Tech will lose. Heck, you aren't being told how cold it is really getting. I have heard from people in my old home it has hit into -65. Not even rarely, at least several times. I have been watching, never reported. You are being told direct lies.
Ah, some changes. I have a pushcart of metal, stainless. While clean, functional, and such, it seemed rather industrial, sterile. So I went with a more homey cart. It just couldn't handle use. With the wheels locked, I tried to roll it. The rear wheels broke out, one of them breaking itself. Okay, yeah, steel doesn't do that. So, back to industrial.
I ordered two more, if that may be an extra. I am thinking about dumping the microwave. I am honestly not convinced they are truly food safe. Perhaps for limited things, like softening or melting butter? For now, I suppose, it stays. I also purchased inexpensive cutting boards to bring the kitchen tools and appliances up to the rim. I will have a cart for the stand mixer, dehydrator and food processor, then the microwave and grain mill, with room below for accessories and mason jars. No other surfaces with access to plugs and height allowances. Bleh.
Bit by bit I am figuring out how to make my world work as I wish it. From tools, appliances, facilitation devices, to skills and some health leeway. Even massages and pedicures are solely aimed at increased function. Pleasure is so overrated. If pleasure? The only things that please, cause ease, are sleeping and resting. Everything else actually hurts, to some level or other. That isn't... what is sought either. It is function, a fullness of life, obtaining what is as right and good as possible. Ease is what is left behind, pain the price. Worth it, I do believe.
I won't get to much. A batch of sourdough pancakes, then dishes. That'll be it. Maybe back to bed. Later.

The massage woke everything up. Not a bad thing. Actually I think that is the point. However, when done near bedtime that means settling in to sleep takes much longer. I think it was 2:00 or 3:00 before I could sleep and 11:00 when I woke... all give or take thirty. And waking with serious phlegm. Whoever spelled that word out got it right. I knew the masseuse loosened some of that. I knew I didn't remove it all last night. Actually I am sure it's still not all gone. It may take days.
I slept like a baby. I don't remember sleeping, if it isn't a total time and space void either. Good sleep can't be beat. Now with daily work this week I have generally been sleeping better. This just tops that by a head and shoulders. I keep dreaming of the Vatican, waking to or with a question. How cold has it gotten at the Vatican? I don't know if I am asking or if it is God. I didn't want to write it, but... Persistence pays off. Now maybe the silly thing will leave me be. Every or every other day for... weeks. Since before it snowed there, which I foresaw... just didn't know it was rare so didn't note. Oh, did you hear? Seven feet of snow in Cali. *grins* Probably not. They are hiding all sorts of things from you, if things snowflakes don't want to hear anyway.
Today? I had planned work, travel, this, and that. I don't think... I mean, I will be trimming that back, toning that down. Dishes, boxes, surfaces, the table, and sweeping? Max. While the massage didn't cause an immediate crash, it lead to a slow burn which eventualized into a shallow dive as my body... amends. All good, that really is how it should work. I may, in time, recover more quickly. Today just gets to be a slow wonderful day. With phlegm. ;p
Roast beef, with cabbage and rutabaga later. Well, and boiling a dozen eggs. Plus a glass of kefir. A strange world I abide. One I didn't anticipate. Kefir? Even cabbage!
Later.

A perfect end to a pretty good week.
.

As it goes, which is first isn't as important as it once was. It seems once I learned to tolerate messages they no longer put me down. Interesting and good to know. I've set up my next appointments. The feet will take some work. Lots of dry skin. I'll put in extra effort to wear socks at all times, change twice a day, and slather something on at least once. When it warms I can go without socks part of the day.
I am a nudist! Well, of the feet. In winter that is just too hard on them. Socks and at least house shoes, if I'd really like to go without. I do plan, for the next, probably, three months, to hit them both twice a month... Unless the feet come through. But the messages, I really am hoping they help with the bp. The thing is to keep appointments. At some point I may want to have the pedicure on it's own day, so as to have three, sort of, messages a month. While I suspect the messages will do the most for bp, just human contact will have some solid impact.
A grand experiment. I took a light standard message this time and at least next time. At some point I may have her try deep muscle. Quite a thing, if I am just doing it for bp there is no reason I can't enjoy the experiences.
I also made it to the store. Picking up what was at a good price or was needed. I pulled beef out to thaw, to go with cabbage and rutabaga. I'm not messing with sauerkraut until the kitchen is topped off. I have to cook some food though. I have been, mostly , keeping up on dishes. Not today. I had to let else slide or I wouldn't have made it. Was so surprised they had an opening. Crazy. Had to take it, and do what it took to make it there.
Wow. What a day. What a week. If not bedtime, good night anyway.

This that and more.

Milk! I love that stuff. Cream too. I'm paid up for another week, but wanted to pay the rest of the month and some other. Couldn't find my checks. Well, until two minutes after opportunity. However I realized my checks weren't what I wanted, though they needed a revision. I meant to pay, no sweat. They took the hit though, so. New ones ordered.
Which reminded me... massage and pedicure. This time I called one better bet at a time. The first rang to a hangup. Okay. Next. I left a query message. Got the call back while reordering my checks. I don't do phone drama. I just let it go to message and called back when finished.
I figured, even if they offered both services, getting them on the same day, back to back, would be a real trial. Hour only, but the prices are good. No guy masseuse however. Not negotiable. Anyway, waiting, waiting... Today, massage, then pedi after? Seriously? SURE! Not sure I'm up to it, would rather pedi first... will try to arrange it my way from now on, massages can toast me. Still, heck yeah.
Dang kids. Twice a month until feet are better, bp comes down, then maybe each once a month to see if that is enough. A shower, see about dropping a check off on my way. Monday, or tomorrow, medicine and car wash. Ugh. I'll keep at it. Oh, and I'll set an doctor appointment for the first of next month. Almost getting places. Good day.

A rough morning.
.
.
Not the worst, by a longshot. I've been doing much, then I couldn't cool down then sleep until nearing midnight. I woke at about 8:30, with some help from my furry little... friends? If they want to be. They were restless, furtive, relentless natives this morning. Perhaps they aren't quite used to one canned food meal a day yet. All good. I opened the bedroom door at 7:30 and let them do their work. Some days they are less motivated, this not being among them.

What's that?
.
.
I thought I would get some of if done. Nope. All of it, and then some. Finished dishes and laundry, dried folded, put up save a few items and the dehydrator rounds which I'll let air dry overnight. Too much fiddly to try to dry those otherwise. The sunflower seeds were done, which really surprised me. The oven, at a higher temp, simply couldn't do it. Those are jarred. The bottles were finished, plus their flip tops were added, loosely. Oh, and a sourdough was fed extra for use in the morning. The others were stirred. More, if I forget as I get ready for bed. Well, a good bit of blogging.
Ugh. Need to cool down. Then crash... in a reasonably well made bed.

Yeah? I'm getting there.
.

Just bits and pieces. Lunch was good. Nothing fancy. I'll finish laundry, stir the sourdoughs feeding one of them for pancakes in the morning, and checking the sunflower seeds. Oh, and scrubbing the dehydrator trays and either setting them to another soak or rinsing and drying them. Yeah, if Ikeep at it I really will get caught up.
No nap. I guess that's cool. I like what I am doing with the place. Hmm, might as well sort the stuff in the drying rack, and hit the few dishes for the day. A clean start does present more opportunity in the morning.

A nap?
.

I have been considering that since 8:30. But, then, I'd think of something to do. Grind winter white wheat, get the dehydrator working for when the sunflower seeds were ready. Perfect timing, as the seeds, which hadn't sprouted yet this morning, were sprouted after the machine was set up. Some of the screens needed cleaned but there were enough clean ones for the seeds. No salt. That might help them dry but I like them without well enough. The seeds went in. The dirty screens finally are getting a soak. They need the big tub I had been using for regular dishes due to their size, within the shower/tub. Problem has been that either the tub was full of other dishes or I was burned out on dishes.
By the way, with the dehydrator back in action, and carts ordered for the extra devices so cord use isn't a problem, I will get back to dehydrating everything from jerky, to fruits and veggies, and on into nuts and berries. Not vast quantities, only fresh when I can get them, as extra reserve... and another hobby. The thing I am learning with sourdough is... labels. Label everything. Some of it needs dates. Just do it. Plus, now I can sprout wheat as well.
Uhrm? Right. MORE CANNING JARS! In all sizes. Probably need to look for gallon jars. You can't ever have enough glass or pottery when you start on groady(ish) growy things, especially with canning on the horizon. Bah! And I need to wash more of the jars I have, and find a place to store them. Ah! Under the new carts when they arrive. Up to quarts anyway. Half and gallon can be sorted to the tall wire shelf. Bleh.
Then to laundry. Two loads should be finished with one last one on the way. I just don't have enough else to make a load. Had to grab kitchen towels, as is, to push the last load over the line. I've been doing small tasks dotted through the morning, much more, and some of that is more than it seems. Still, all good. Perhaps a nap after lunch? Not terribly hungry if it's not best to wait. Might take a rhino. Hmm, I bet they make into excellent fried rinds. A little tobasco and golden. It even provides it's own fat! Fuck yeah I think with my stomach.
Yeah, best eat first. A pillow or cat might end up gone missing otherwise. Later.

When did I wake? I know I looked. Memory refuses to serve. I will, considering the givens, call it 6:00 or before by no more than fifteen. The bed was made, roughly if immediately. It sure seemed cold this morning. Wool socks as soon as a pair could be found. Then to the kitchen. Sunflower seeds were rinsed, well to clear, drained, then set to dry. Sourdoughs were fed. I had to grind more wheat, more spelt soon. Everything was washed or cleaned along the way. Amazing how much mess just a few simple chores can produce, if that may just be me, my very nature?
Dratted thing is I did all of that before properly waking. Which means... I have no clue what to do next. I even cleaned the litter boxes. Hmm? Yeah. Still so tired. I could see about the laundry, and start another load. I am not sure I am ready for breakfast. Still, there is the egg casserole. It came out just so. All I need. Perhaps a toss of sprouts. Just for crunch.
Done and done. Is it nap time? Bah! It's not even 7:00 yet. As I rest I will ponder. Not quite ready to hit the kitchen. Later.
--------
Ah-ha! Not for now, maybe not today, but soon. No, not in English, but with more than sufficient sub-... super-titles. The holdoff? Beside gravity and my butt? Walnuts. I want half the thing to be nutty.

Wanted something more.
.
.
I really wanted to cook or bake something. Brownies, some sort of treat. I only keep cocoa powders on hand... both types and a blend. I went looking for a recipe which matched my ingredients. You can make chocolate using fats and powder, technically. I haven't done it, so really wanted to see it done in with the rest. Not lazy, just not interested in experimenting, not tonight. No go. So be it.
I did finish most of the rest of the dishes and bottles. A cooling rack was overlooked. No, just... no. All growy stuff has been worked. I am down to sunflower seeds and sourdough. I'll be using sourdoughs down, before long, then cutting that to a feeding a week unless it is to go into production again. Now to keep up the other work and clean the joint back up.
The machine, as usual, didn't spin out the liquid. I parted everything and ran it as anew load. That worked. It is drying but I won't bother with another load. I keep reviewing soap making. One thing to note is that all the equipment used becomes for soap only. You want to go cheap, but not so cheap the equipment fails. Looking things over. Window shopping is easy these days, perhaps too easy.
Bedtime is closing in. Good night.

Dishes and more dishes.
.
.
Dishes after those. I got the first group, then made an spinach, onion, mushroom cheese, sausage, and egg casserole. Sauteing mushrooms and onions, probably spinach next time. I am getting much better at it, if it isn't difficult and I didn't start out bad. It's more gauging amounts, pitching in for the extra steps such as sauteing, and having the timing down better. Oh, and I have learned to add volume to the eggs.
By the time it was done the dishes from the cooking were done. That's the way to go if you have to go that way. Paper plates to. Plastic utensils don't work well, and disposable cups. I so much prefer glass. Still, I'll check next time I go shopping. Maybe half that way? Maybe. More if I am down? Something.
The sunflower seeds weren't sprouted last time I checked. I won't be worrying about sourdough tonight, now, if seeing how long it takes to hit their high, most expanded, would be good. That and a glass of kefir, milk kefir, after this post. Ah, and the washer messed up. It left everything soaking. I ran it on a wring and spin load, didn't seem to work last time. Annoying. If it worked I'll put another load through as well. That'll be it for laundry, if more in the kitchen would be good. Later.

Later.
Not as planned.
.
.
Even so, I'll take it. Hoping for more.
I ended up doing normal morning stuff first then getting bedding changed, the bed made, and laundry started. While I haven't started in on the dishes, I set them to soak then drained and refreshed the soak... tomato and meat require more soap than one soak offers, to my demands. Clean isn't greasy.
My hands have improved. Rubber gloves, talcum powder, and aloe vera lotion for the initial stages. It's both the heat, the water, chemicals, and then the cold. Oh, I went from Gold Bond to generic baby powder. I went from paying $6 to $10 a bottle to $20 or less for 48 bottles, same amount per. I can handle the baby smell. I use the stuff on my feet, along with foot spray. My feet don't smell funny anymore, or itch or burn. My routine works.
Hmm? I don't know. I am hoping to reduce boxes and hit the kitchen. After a break, if I can. I am happy with where things are, in the day and along the list. If I didn't do more, so long as I didn't add to the mess, I'd be good. But, as we all know... deceiving. I plan on making a mess, sourdough pancakes. More, doing more isn't, for some of us, a choice. Either I can or I cannot. If I can, it isn't that I am compelled, it is that I simply will do it. No real choice.
Ugh. I think I hit a wall. I'll probably get better or nap. Hmm, food might help. Later.

The faucet of melt has been stoppered. No puddles or dark areas. Worth the trade for sunshine, at least for us cave dwellers. Up rather late, but to bed late. Is my day slipping or was that a fluke? I am tagging that as an outlier. To attempt to craft it so I will need to attend work earlier, if possible. Don't you love advice you know but can't follow? Worse when you are your own adviser.
I've hit the growy things. I still don't understand why my sourdough smells like bubblegum? Yes. Both Doom and what is now being called Spawn of Doom, since I am not sure these things have sexes or parents in the old way... or if you are falsely sure of evolution (because they told you? really? how much other settled science do you believe?) the new way, smell very sweet. The Neighbor Mrs.'s sourdough smells as I would expect. I have used mine, to exceptional effect. So it does work. And other than sugar added at it's creation, inception..?, I haven't added anything but flour and water.
Oh, on that note? I honestly am doubting if it matters which wheat is used in the feeding of sourdough. At least for leavening. Perhaps it will have an effect on carbs, glutton level and type. As I indicated, my sourdoughs smell the same. The flour used doesn't change anything.
Oh, the bed and laundry, plus feeding... not that. I had been feeding the girls canned food twice a day. A gift for having run out for about a week. What happens if I feed them twice a day for two long is they start vomitting... a lot. So, as a treat for a day to a week, then back to once a day. On feast days, celebrations, holidays, they eat extra too. If they have more feast days than I do. I don't, can't always, feast on such occasions. Anyway.
Oh, I set up a hot soapy soak for the dishes. I'll look around for a smaller bottle scrubber. I may not have one for these types of bottles, if hot water could do, for now. I'd really like a brush that would go to the bottom and get the sides. I have looked, haven't found, yet... to my knowledge. It's difficult to gauge things on amazon.
The bed shortly, laundry, then the kitchen. Later.

Most of the dishes. I didn't get to the bottles and missed some pots and pans. Ran two loads through two fresh water pans... I use mini tubs in the sinks. Prevents overflow and has other purposes. Then I set up sunflower seeds just for an overnight soak, then changed out the kefir water, this time adding sugar to the second ferment jars. Not in bottles, just in mason jars for now. Also stirred the sourdoughs. Yeah.
Took too long to start, then I just didn't have much to put in. All good. The sink is clear, tea is going, the grow stuff has been tended, and other things. I should be ready to hit it again tomorrow. Ugh, need to change bedding. Should be easy if I can hit it before I really wake, and just throw that in with other laundry. We'll see.
I might really tear into the kitchen tomorrow. I would really like to get back to cooking and baking, it's a strong incentive. Hmm, I wonder about sourdough pancakes or waffles. Probably an overnight thing and I am finished for the night. Soon. Einkorn is on the way, twenty pounds. Yeah.
Not bad for being mostly dead. Not great or even good. Just not bad with the givens.

Back to it? Maybe.
.
.
So many things piled up. I couldn't just do them. Appointments, paperwork, approvals, rescheduling, over and over. I miss much of the mail. So many fake trees to try to see the forest through. If too I am simply too tired to see straight enough to make sense of the nonsense so don't bother trying. Still, I'll keep at it. One more appointment and things should be clear. For a while.
I am still tired. But I want to get to things. If I can catch up on dishes, set up all the grow carp, and take care of boxes tonight, I'd be really happy. I won't do any more cooking, the experimental type, until the kitchen is completely up to specs. That will take a few days. The bathroom as well, if that will be easy. With the bathroom not doubling as the kitchen sink, the toilet is the hardest work, and that is easy. If I can do the list tonight I'll be well on my way.
Two things, it is hoped, will also be arranged tonight. I have learned several things about my food hobbies. First, to get kefir water to fizz, a second ferment, [adding sugar], is what is required. Most hide that step, adding sugar. I have flip top bottles in for that, if, of course, they have to be washed first. The other thing is soaking sunflower seeds to begin sprouting those correctly. This time probably a day, perhaps dehydrating them tomorrow evening... if they sprout. The first batch is okay, just a bit waterlogged. They just wouldn't dry, if they are tasty.
Life might be a bit too much. My system may be a bit anemic. No one seems to want to play nice or fair, if honestly it... trust me, it works out. I try not to get too grumpy.

Paperwork.

Lots of it. Refinancing to a flat interest rate. But there were problems. For one, taxes. I am exempt. They were built in. Second, insurance. I thought I was paying that myself. I know I was. Turns out they stealth took it over. Not cool. Working on it. Amazing how everybody knew everything but me. Handling other people's money, one way or another, always goes south. Which is why bankers and insurers sneak it in. I'll get that fixed. Even if it doesn't cost me, there are a lot of problems with such actions.
I asked the notary if anyone really knows what is in the paperwork. Her eyes glazed over and she just went back to work. Paperwork isn't my forte. Keeping track of changes isn't either. To be fair they flood my post box with junk mail so the chances of missing something important are high. I probably get fifteen pieces of mail from them a month, or more. Most months all pieces are junk. Random mailings sent by quota workers. I actually received eight calls to confirm today's appointment, which I ignored because I confirmed with the notary herself Friday. Pests.
I did check on one potential problem which turned out to not be an issue. I made two calls, one uselessly, the other to a named mob:p Just to clear that issue and give a call back number for other issues pending. This stuff could make the head explode!
Hungry. Spaghetti and meat sauce? Sure, carbs. But I have learned to cook just portions, not whole batches. Yeah, it makes a difference. I have enough bread to make garlic bread. Yeah, doubling carbs but shush. I am seriously hungry.

Another dark day.
.
.
Fresh snow, which brightens the world a few notches. Not enough snow to plow. I normally wouldn't bother with this spit of snow, especially since I am going nowhere. I have a business visitor and perhaps packages arriving. I try to make sure folk can get in without fuss or worry. Even if I could hate someone, I wouldn't want to see them hurt. While, therefore no less or more strangers or friends. If we go to war? I won't make any attempt to hurt anyone, as a general rule. If I do my job, no one in my sights, will feel much or for long. I aim to please. So, I'll get out with shovel and salt.
Actually down a bit after 22:00, awake at a bit after 8:00. Pulling out of bed was difficult. Pain this morning, if the real impediment to rising is the cold and dark. Oh, I best straighten a bit in the front room. Doesn't need much, nor is there time to do it all. Boxes, a quick sweep, chairs arranged, little things.
Snow first, then a shower, and finally the front room. After the dailies. Later.
--------
Not enough snow (or left) to scoop. Enough to potentially hide ice. The fix? An obvious strong sprinkling of salt. That will, it is hoped, allay fears of the unknown. What can be done has been done.
As to sunflower seed sprouting? They... won't green. Okay. So, after a bit of foolishness, if no help from the Internet was forthcoming, I pulled my head out of my ask me later, then formulated the solution set. Sprout until they just sprout, drain, spreed on a cookie sheet, salt or not, then dry out (dehydrator would work). Rather tasty with or without salt. Good simply, in salads, or other recipes.
The rest of my dailies, mostly, are done. Now for a shower and the front room, and painkillers.

Just about time.
.

Bedtime. For having done so little I am tired. I needed rest, and took it.
Souffles, soon, again. Just to hammer them home. Bread again sometime in the next few days. Perhaps custard? Sure thinking about it. Souffle is too delicate to gift, but custard can handle transport. Plus it helps while learning one of the lines of sauces in French cooking. Yeah, still on about that, and getting back to it. If you know sauces you can sell shoeleather dinners at a healthy profit. Just a note about the reason. One of them.

A day of resting.

Just because? No. I did too much while too tired. I didn't break anything, if everything was stretched. All good. It does a body good. Even the dead should dance from time to time. The bread, and other mild efforts, haven't been a problem. Actually those have helped. Good food should help in recovery.

Bread.

I wasn't expecting much. I was using a no-knead minimalist blend of recipes. I was using, if home ground and spelt, a whole grain flour. Then I was using an untried leavening substance. With all the givens I was expecting a sour brick, especially with such a long ferment. Well, and so many seem to end with bricks of bread, a common noob whine.
I though about letting it cool longer. Meh. I like it a little warm. I had forgotten to put butter out last night, but remembered this morning, as the loaf was being deposited. That worked just right. I sliced an end piece and one interior piece, buttered them, then let them work together for a bit. Finally, it was time.
Okay. I think I could learn to like that. Sour? No, actually sweet. Mildly sweet, like sweeter squash? I think so. It didn't rise much, didn't seem to rise by appearances, and yet? It tasted, texture-wise, more like... cake? Really? Really. I... am almost speechless. It is far more than I would have expected, more so for so little work put in. I didn't even grease or butter the dutch oven, I used parchment paper... which limited the heat... it can only handle 420 F, and I like margins so went with 400. Curious about characteristics when room temp. Definitely happy with the first showing.
The next loaf will be regular whole wheat, if ground at home, with sour dough. No-knead, all as before, except the type of wheat. As well as this went, I may hit sprouted spelt next week. Success feeds success, assuming I can. I am surprised at what I have been getting away with. Hell, it's like I am almost alive again. Later.
----------------
The bread is still quite good at room temp. Not sure how long this bread lasts, or how to store it. I'll look around... after another slice and a nap.

Woke at 7:30, went to sleep at about 20:30. A long sleep. Given health and level of activity, plus that after a sunny day we are back to darkness? Fine. Of course, messing with kefirs, then feeding sourdoughs, messing with the bread dough and getting the dutch oven ready to go. It is all started. Then, without thinking, I cooked the oatmeal. I just won't have a slice of fresh bread with it. Oh, and sprouts were watered, drained, and set to catch what sun is available. The sunflower seeds have sprouted. They are okay, if I am hoping for more? Might dehydrate some, some salted some not.
As to timing the bread, I am winging it. I have some rough expectations, a set of for altitude, a slight adjustment in mind for such a wet dough, if the truth is I'll be engineering it. I'll give it a rough minimum to just bake, then check every five or ten, deciding when to remove the lid. I doubt if there will be an exact time, probably ever. Less so until I decide on a precise recipe(s) and get good at following.
I love the oatmeal done this way. It doesn't just sit there in the pit of my stomach like a brick. It mingles well, spends just enough time to not become a bother, then moves on. If I am going to eat such food, which I am, then I'll do it as right as possible. Though the real truth? Eating the old ways is just a hobby. I'm not a believer. Nor, completely, a disbeliever. At my health it actually doesn't matter, mostly.
I've been doing a lot of talking in my sleep. Laughing too. It is weird to startle awake because of the proximity of a voice while still finishing a sentence out of my own mouth, or still laughing about God only knows. At least it isn't a fright. Oddly, I don't recognize the voice, even while waking to it... well, it is familiar. I just don't know who it is, was, or will be? Yeah. Kewl. None of my affair. Good for chuckling when I wake.

Bread? Why not.
.
.
I have viewed many recipes. Some suggest... well... all sorts of things. Sugar, honey, salt, none of those, three hours rise, eleven hours then adding more flour and starter and giving it four more hours, and much else with massive more or less. Baking times and temps? Yeah. Lots of crazy out there. Someone must be right.
I went with a couple of no-knead recipes, using bits of each. Sugar added, as a boost to starter action, eleven hours, but no additional flour and water, or rise time. This and that, back and forth. It is in the (cool) oven. I was hoping the light would work for heat. Nope. So I'll pull it and turn the furnace up a bit tonight. The cold may be what is hampering my kefir water too.
I went with spelt flour this time. Regular (whole wheat but ground at home, so fresh) flour next. Perhaps a mix if those are a bit wicked, dense. Though... maybe just more work, other recipes. The thing is to get away from standard wheat. It should take about forty minutes to cook and another twenty to cool. Hmm, best put butter out tonight. I hate trying to scrape cold butter even on warm bread. Ah, and I am using whey to soak oatmeal, along with mostly water. Toast with breakfast would be good. I am curious if I'll get that normal rush with bread.
Good night.

Good night.
Prepping?
.
.
I get so far ahead I have to do overtime to... fall behind? I was wondering.
While doing many things, I was trying to remember what I had been doing for preparedness. Then I realized I was missing the forest for the trees. Almost everything I have been doing is prep based. Souffles? Goes to skills, learning to cook from scratch, and learning to just do. Certainly sourdoughs, breads, and grains. That will lead to a storage of grains I can use. Certainly skills.
Experimenting with sprouts, which offer greens in the winter. Sure, we have grocery stores now. If... how good are those greens as is? And, should you end up somewhere far from a store. Replacement seeds? Yeah. Though if sunflower seeds work, that would do. Plus getting used to such. Now I can grab a pinch of greens and munch... almost tasty... or, well, it is okay. Some more than others. And it packs well. You could grow this on a hike, in a clear(er) container attached to the outside of a pack.
Even the whey soaked food are in this right direction. I soaked rice in pure whey, thinking to test outer limits. It was rather good. It was more of a waste of whey than any over-souring of brown rice. And, yes, it is easier to digest. Not needed for me, but I do get more nutrition. Well, so goes the theory.
The point is, I am still, very much, prepping. It is fantastic fun at that. Oh, I'll never have it down. I think, when you realize you can never square it all, though? THEN you can truly begin to prepare. After all else, now taking stock, joining in, and settling in, is the thing to do. I am right where I need to be.

First things first.

I now have a list to do every morning. More now than always. Feeding the starter is a daily, but I will be backing that off. I am planning some baking this week. Probably regular wheat. And then another batch every few days until I have used down the sourdoughs, which will then be refrigerated and the spelt sourdough will be brought out and used down. Then einkorn, when that is ready. Some of what will be examined is sourness. Just how sour does it get, what can I handle, and what cuts carbs/sugars the most.
After starters, I then hit sprouts. Water, drain, then for the older bunches into as much sun as possible, hoping to green them up. Cheap greens, crunchy, and hobbyist thing for foodies. Goes exceptionally well on sandwiches. While at those I check the water kefir. Not much to do, just inspect. I'm letting this batch age more.
Next, cat litter and making the bed... if I remember. It's good to have things to do. As some things go away I will try to find some tasks to replace them. Cleaning, perhaps a weekly chart, with different things each day. If I do enough of them, a treat? If I miss, don't want to or can't do the task(s) one, day, have a two or three week rotation which means the task will come back up? Is such drudgery possible? Thinking on it.
At first I thought I had more spelt than regular wheat. Then I remembered the superpails. But I don't want to dig into those, as I won't be using regular wheat for long. Then again..? I am not sure I will keep spelt on hand if einkorn is half what they say. Though, maybe, for variety. You do realize you can grind these into mixes for hot cereals, right. And filling? These cereals will fill you, without weighing you you down, for half a day, stone solid work energy.
Right, best make the bed. Nothing like going to bed when it is made. Oh, the trash system is working extremely well. Every morning, or other, and every time something rough is tossed, a quick sacking often just grocery bags, it gets tied and set into the bigger bag. No smell and I don't have to run every such bag out. Might even, mostly, pas the mom test!

Odd.
.
.
Since the local shop didn't carry einkorn as berries I was expecting to need to dig to find. Nope. Everywhere and easily, even on amazon... if I should check that. And, often, it is only slightly more expensive than spelt. Okay. I am about to pull the trigger on some. I'd like to find a real supplier, but I can't cover that with gold. I'll pay some premium, just not double the going low. No. I found one, but to get the reasonable price (still more than amazon per 10#) they want me to buy nearly a $k worth. Not bad, as that is part of the plan, just not if I can't eat or bake well with it.
Yeah, I'll order the stuff from amazon if it isn't pearlized or such. Twenty pounds, if they will let me order that much at once, would work to experiment. My first loaf of regular and spelt sourdough should be later this week. Both are whole grain, ground here fresh. Even one of the sourdoughs was developed here, and both were made from scratch here in town (but do smell different). Oh, and the sourdoughs are eating wheats which were ground here... no more ap flour. I think she grinds her own too.
I ought to call to see if... Nah. After some trial and error, when I can offer advice, I'll offer various grains. Oh, I am soaking sunflower seeds. I'm curious how those work out. The notion came from one of my more trusted homesteading grand dames. A mouse of a girl-woman, but with a good head on her shoulders. Curious.

I did make it to town. I got every package save one ready before going, and was able to get that package arranged there. Further, the fax was sent regarding the extra mortgage payment. After, I visited the near store to check about raw sunflower seeds for sprouts. While there I thought I'd check on wheat. I figured the sunflower seeds would be the difficulty. Nope, right there. It's the einkorn berries that might be the difficulty. The spelt was reasonable, in bulk, I thought. I was going to order it when they had one in stock. Love when that happens. I wonder how long twenty five pounds lasts?
Awesome. Oh, I am tired. Shot. Done for today and maybe several more. I have things to do each day. The place is smelling like a brewery, though in short order it will more resemble a bakery. The trick, as with souffles, is to make to mastery. If I get to really good loaves I may begin knocking on neighbor doors with a loaf to offer. I wonder how many have had sourdough or spelt. I'm not quite to sprouted, but with a dehydrator that won't be a problem. It is more getting the rest going, learning to bake, then working it in.
I am curious whether sprouted grains can feed sourdough. Just how much carb and starch can be naturally wrung out of the wheats and thus breads (and else, actually). If nothing else, curiosity. I... want to know. And I can begin to find out. Ah, but to find einkorn berries. Then more can be learned. At least the experiment has not just purpose, but health reasons. Affordable? How much is health, to life, worth?

Getting there.

Took longer to do everything. I finally made the bed, then ground spelt, split some of the Doom starter, then gave S.O.D. it's first meal of spelt. The other sourdoughs were given an air snack (a good stir). Finally, I ground more hard white wheat. Not bad, if I am really tired. I am thinking whether to try to get to town today or not. Truly tired. I'll check their hours, might have missed. I want a shower, and shave, first. Actually I want those either way.
Other than dishes, cooking rice, and a few daily and perhaps small jobs, today may end up just a quiet day. Not sure I can get out.

More like a midnight down.

Almost. Then an 8:00ish wake. I simply activated the brain and body hives too much to slow it all down as quickly as intended. All good. Sleep was what rocks get, and eight hours has become the new six, a bit tight but allows me to rock as righteously as I am able, Cain. And so it goes.
First thing, out of bed, the growy things get fed. I do believe my starter sourdough is well and truly up to snuff. One feeding turning a day, and it would have taken months. Three stirrings with feeding to of those times, ands days. Plus I have a ginormous clump of the goo. Half will stay as is... actually a quarter. The other quarter is being morphed into... wait for it... ... wait for it... the Son of Doom! Being from Doom, just using spelt, sure. When I get to einkorn, I'll name that one the blob.
On to the others. Milk kefir is percolating, water kefir? I moved it to a half gallon from a quart and I think it's overwhelmed, the sprouts are actually all doing well, if the clover needs another jar! Two to three tablespoons per quart, they said. Two I did. But man are there sprouts. Not much sun, but it is time so I'll give them what there is trick is to not forget them.
Then on to setting up dishes for in a bit, then breakfast. I used whey and water to soak oats and rice last night. I could have gone either way, chose oats. They taste pretty much the same, but it took less to fill and there really isn't that hard feeling around the food in my stomach. Placebo? Doesn't matter, it is the way forward. Old school, righteous old school, when even food prep was a humbling reminder of our frailty and a safe limitation on consumption... couldn't just eat. That is where I am going. Rice, tonight, with meat crumble and salad on the side.

Way too much fail.
.
.
First, just getting going. I think the shower was finished quickly. Then... snow. The machine didn't cooperate last time. I wasn't quite up to shoveling. I figured I had most of the afternoon. Well, at 14:00ish, I headed out to... begin starting? The neighbor's son the third was there. I thought he would still be in school.
A bit of talking and I was granted permission to vacate. So many things to do in town! Though to be honest I really did want to drive the plow. Bleh. Anyway, to town. I got there, realized I didn't have the parcels to be returned, so... Back at home I grabbed the goods and headed back to town. Into the shop, a few questions, at the pay machine, no debit. MC card has been being stupid lately. Nope. I drove home and almost didn't go back. Had to, for mortgage filing purposes, might as well do it all.
So, yes, back to town. So very tired. However, this time it all worked. First the mortgage papers, then a portion of my bank statement to prove double payment (forgot my account number so couldn't fax that), and finally printed the returns for some items. Ugh! Too late to send the packages, have to go back for the fax anyway, but damn... burned out. And it wasn't straightforward, I had to figure out how to get email and my bank to allow this new device, plus learning their system and Chrome on the fly. Amazing how well I did. In, done, out... with all of it... in six minutes and change. Cha-ching.
I hope to make it in tomorrow. Once. And, yet, for all the fail? I am grateful. I was able to keep going. I got the vital part done. I set the rest up for a quick shot. I didn't give up and I wasn't forced to quit. I took a hell of a beating but I seem good for it. By the way, next time? Bifocals. I surrender. My poor eyes got as abused as the rest of me.
Oh, sourdough from the neighbor mrs! She started the way I did, from scratch. I finally named them. Mine is Doom, her's is her name. As I branch out, I'll have to think of other names. The Blob is a top contender, I laughed when revisiting that movie and I saw who that starred. After feeding a starter for a while I also have an idea about the origins of the story so why the monicker fits. If the goo eats the shoe...
Burned out something wicked. A bit of music before I crash. Good night. [20:00, or will be]

At least a three base run?
.
.
Could hace been more but slugger fatty couldn't trip the ticket. I mean, I got to most of it before butt gravity forced an end to the run. The only thing I didn't do was make breakfast. On that shortly. Easy enough, oatmeal. Hmm, next time I make it, I'm hitting it with an overnight whey soak. I don't have digestive issues, It's just that soaking makes more of what I am eating nutritionally available. Essentially I am cheap. Twice over, as I want to start using the whey I work so hard to separate and not waste even byproducts if possible. Cheap isn't always bad.
I may have figured out kefir, or close. The goal is to kefir about half to two thirds of the milk, to cut carbs yet still have some regular milk. I am still working out how many jars (quarts), jugs (half gallons), and pint backups. Each week the process gets more refined. As to variable want? There is some flexibility. Beyond some point, when I am out that is it. As such, I am also fiddling with consumption. A larger glass in the morning, a smaller one later? Still figuring.
Good news. The software purchase was refunded without a fight. All good. I may have to get back at the tower I was building, finish it. Before I buy, however, I will make sure their trialware installs. After that it's just about entering code(s). Still, I want the tasks involving the printer done to damn day! I may have another alternative plan. If I can't rule the world I am going to look for a cheaper more private way to get by.
Next I'll try to print or figure out some other work around for returns and get that going. Depending on that, the kitchen will be hit after that. I will hit it as strongly as I can. I am really setting today and tomorrow to completely do the kitchen (proper). The niche next? Or back to the front room? I'm thinking you varment.
Breakfast first. Later.

Awake with a side of headache.
.

Up at out at 4:40, to bed at 17:40? Close enough. Must have been tired, which caused me to sleep wrong? Though, sometimes, sleeping in a bad position just happens. Though, as often as we sleep, you would think we would get it right nearly always? I have other problems, of course. When they haven't been a curse recently it is easy to forget I shouldn't even be alive. So, a little conscious pain, especially after having dug in? Reasonable.
I didn't do any of the last parts of work yesterday. I took my break then never got back to it, other than feeding the starter again, and wetting the sprouts a last time. The clover looks good, not sure about the alfalfa... they are rather old. If that doesn't work I have others which are newer, and will be buying more next time I get to town. Radish, alfalfa, and there is another kind I want to try... ah, raw, untreated, sunflower seeds, if I can find them. As I said, I don't consider these particularly tasty (save the radish, and I have heard the sunflower seed). That isn't the final say on what is really just an ingredient. I also don't like raw egg or a glass of bacon fat, innit.
Hmm? Oh. I'll chek the growy stuff, feed the starter, water and check sprouts, mess with the lettuce, turn the kefir one way or the other, do the dishes, then make breakfast? Sounds like a lot, but it is becoming rather typical. Oh, I will take aspirin. I've been an awfully good boy lately, mostly. Of course, I need to wake a bit. Later.

As I slide from hither to yon?

Being the man on the moon, if only in her mind?

Being the man on the moon, if only in her mind?
How can time fly while dragging on?
.
.
It should make up it's mind. Probably a woman.
Dishes and more dishes. Some dishes were washed in order to end up dirtying more dishes. Breakfast beforehand, a cheese and mushroom omelette, with a scoop of salsa, plus the last of the milk. I am trying to make it fluffy, I'll obviously have to do some research. I probably got twice the volume, but I am looking for at least twice even that. Not sure if cheese and mushroom can go into the batter, or in the amounts used.
I contacted the software company, my least favorite task. I let them know my request, without options. What good is extra time if it can't be installed? As well I explained rather strongly why I do some things, of which I have no choice to a middling city dwelling bureaucratic type. Don't get snippy with me, soyboy. Then more dishes? Yeah. I didn't do it mommy!?! Shut up and wash. :p
Next kefir checks. Another switch soon. Then grain grinding. I can't remember if I initialized the machine or not, which consists of running two cups through and tossing that. Did that, then ran four cups through, mostly as sourdough feed. Four cups was just three ounces shy of two pounds. I held off feeding the starter for this. I then had to switch the sourdough to another container, and learned a lesson... don't wipe the mixing spoon on the side. Bleh. Your grandma's raging... Never mind. Oh, and guess what? MORE DISHES.
Hmm? Well, not bad, really. I need a short break then to the dishes, printer experiment, then the return stuff processing one way or the other. Well, and a shower and shave. The kitchen? Doubtful. I am getting much done, in rather good time, and by priorities, mostly. I won't worry about what doesn't get done at this good pace. I don't have much hope for the printer rigging, but why not give it a shot. Later.
.
It should make up it's mind. Probably a woman.

Awake at what I roughly thought was 5:40 but ended up having to be 4:40, I didn't get out of bed or go back to sleep. A bloody nose as part of why to stay put. Not really still tired so I wrested from bed shortly, 5:26. All good. Dreams, but lost to the night. Rested enough to give the day a go. No pain, surface pain, at initialization. Probably some deeper stuff, just... pretty sure. No problem, there should be. I have earned it with my efforts. I am simply surprised I don't have surface pains, ones I can feel through my innate pain insensitivity. I've been seriously pushing, if it hasn't felt like it, it is true.
My hands are doing better. Thick rubber gloves, with talcum powder, while washing dishes, or anything else. Aloe Vera lotion several times a day. It will take time. I have changed my mind. I think hot water is the sole problem. Still, slowly, better. Actually I will also begin using Germ-X to wash my hands save in the shower. I just pushed through a lot of dishes in a very short time using water hot enough to burn mot people outright at 160 F. Yeah.
First thing, check my growy things, feed the sourdough starter, water the sprouts or soak them a bit... they only got four hours before it was bedtime if I pushed to give them that. Then tea, medicine, and some thought as to breakfast. Cheese and mushroom omelette? Well, and time to wake. Perhaps a shower and shave in there, plus making the bed? Wow, maybe.
I haven't quit with the printer. I am going to try one more thing. If that doesn't work, there is still a guaranteed way. I just... fear the Mines of Moria... or... the dollar per fee, actually. Same same! When I can, I am persistent. Though not every battle fought can be won, nor can every battle be fought. But damn it, if I'm going in I want a body count, destruction, and at least a little collateral. I may not be known but I will be remembered. I will linger.
Else? That is just morning warm ups! I will finish the business the printer was intended, which is actually two-fold, whatever it takes. As well, lettuce and spinach will be cleaned and processed for salads. Dishes will be done, and the kitchen will get a major hit. It's been a bit, it's time. Oh, and I'll start on a refund from the security software. If it won't load, and they can't do it remotely, I am done with them.
Anything else? You know, no. I doubt if all of this will be done to completion. If I hit what I can, with a few absolutes... some things take time. Yeah, that is my day, at it's best. Later.

I've done what I could.
.
.
A shower, neck down. Maybe should have shampooed. Time was too short. Cooking gets to hair, frying anything especially. Then to the post. No package, no problem. Then to town. The only thing not available was einkorn in smaller amounts. I almost expected that. I asked for prices on spelt and einkorn in bulk sizes. They have to research.
A bit after getting home I installed the cartidge. Everything seemed to work. I ran an alignment chec, which worked. But when I attempted to print from the computer, the computer just indicated that the printer wasn't communicating. It showed up on the computer. Strange. I worked with various ports, tried different usb ports and some other things, all to failure. To be honest I think the computer is simply a toaster. Was probably built not to work, or set up to be broken to keep it for very minimal directed work efforts and only that. Trash. Did what I could.
I placed a call about the ssa doctor's review. Confirmed and got data. Ugh.
The only thing I am working on, foodwise, is soaking alfalfa and some other type. I'll drain them and set them to drain through the night. I also found my grain mill. That and the dehydrater have been brought out. I'm thinking of sprouting spelt after these sprouts, just a bit as a hot cereal. I've done that with whole wheat before. Filling but a bit too filling? Yeah. Spelt might be different. As well I will be grinding whole wheat for use in the starter. Spelt is a bit off for that, at least until the starter is going well, and there is enough to split off.
Tired boys and girls. I'll keep trying. Good night. [18:44]

Two business emails already. A call yet to make. Follow up on at least one of those emails. A shower. To the post. Cleaned out the fridge this morning, so more dishes and shopping to do. Tried magic on the printer cartridge, as mentioned. Failed but needed so more shopping. Bits more cleaning in the kitchen if bits aren't really doing it. A social email or two, blogging, music...
Yeah. No complaints. Pleased, surprised, amazed. If I can keep this up I will get somewhere. I am, if not as much in the kitchen specifically or cave generally, getting much done. Something is beginning to work. Even with the cold crunch.
The new trash system is working well. Anytime something is thrown that might pollute by odor, or something the cats might try to retrieve, I just tie the little bag, tossing it into the bigger one. Plus, the little ones don't hold much, a day or two. I finally have a fix. This spring, when it hits the 50's, I'll see about cleaning the bins a few at a time. Then again in the fall.
The water kefir has passed to the next stage. Or I called it. I set the old water to bubble apart from the grains, putting the grains in with fresh sweeted water. I added vanilla and a dash of ground ginger. I'm not sure this first, or several batches out, will work. The grains may simply not be strong enough yet. The sourdough is coming along, if rather slowly. Ugh. But it is active. Then again I can only keep the kitchen warmer during the day. Should target brewing tea for at bedtime. Crowd the growy things around. Reminds me, I'd like to set up sprouting again. Just edible salad types at the moment. Wheat type grains won't be sprouted, except perhaps as cereal, until... for a while. More growy things. Tastes like green ass, but it's cheap easy fresh vittals. Something different to add.
Hmm? Right, best get going. Later.

It'll get there.

Dishes set up and done. Always find more, or dirty more. I think the little pot survived. Amazing how fast and easy dishes are, mostly. If I could just clear the deck of so many other tasks, I am sure catching and keeping up in the kitchen and front bath will be a breeze. Almost there, too. Plus, with the tub open full time, showers and mopping are readily available. With the floors clearing... it's a mess, cleaning up.
The attempt at fixing the ink cartridge was a fail. It is only ever a hail Mary. I'll get a shower shortly, then figure things. Cold again, hard cold. My gig, if it slows things down. Hmm, while at it, eggs. Enough for more batches of souffle? You know what? I think so. And a bunch of apples, more of that super gooder (tm) sharp cheddar, and the idea of sticking with it until I feel I have it. I'd like to get it to were I could serve it out.
Truth is, it isn't... hmm... I don't believe many would love it. Food? Sure, but prepackaged, like or not, has brighter notes and could be more filling... even if using wood pulp and else. The world has moved on from real foods, has no taste for it. I am a dinosaur. Aiming for true old school though, so a feature not a bug.
Heck, something else I will be seeking is ancient wheat, einkorn and spelt... just trial sizes first, if Shangri-la is open, I'll give them first shot. And I need whole wheat berries. The grinder will get put to it's paces, or at least used to make several cups of each. In time I will probably sprout each type, dehydrate, grind, and compare sugar spikes among regular, sprouted, then each with and without sourdoughs of the various grains. Yes, you can transition ap or whole wheat sourdough to einkorn, perhaps spelt. Probably even to buckwheat or rye. Crazy, cats.
Hmm? I best think about getting to things. Later.

It's been almost two hours awake. I did work on the computer first. No dice. I did speed checks, which seemed fine. The only questionable part was latency. I don't know what is good, though it read 12 ns, I think. I again tried to get the software to download and install. Of courese I realized the system kept timing out. So I had to reset the power saver options. They had all of that absolutely throttled down. Still no good. I am not sure if the machine is messed, the Internet connection is on the fritz, or if the company is the problem. People at amazon were suggesting not to buy it there, for the same reasons I am running into. It might not have anything to do with amazon, I ordered it direct.
I gave up on that for a bit. I did check the kefirs, sourdough starter, had some breakfast, and checked litter. There is more incentive to clean that out when it is really fresh. The girls watch me suspiciously, as if I was going to take it all, or leave my own special package. Ha. There's a thought.
I did finish dishes last night, minus one smal pot I really thought of tossing. Burned. Actually, I think it might survive. It'll take another heavy scrub. As to else? I think I will see about getting the printer going, use it, get my money back on the security ware, and dump this lemon. If I want a computer I'll have to put this other one together, and find software which can be installed. Yikes.

Dishes, all of them save one pot. I just forgot it. It is soaking. I may just use fumes to do it. I've done a few other things, like drawing the whey out. I may attempt to clarify the whey again tomorrow. It's method, luck, and art, separating the whey. My method is green, my luck is out, and my art is Picasso which is only valued long after death, and I don't have that kind of time. Another shot.

First, life is just... Took hours just drifting through the unknown. Security software is almost as hard to get on as it is to remove. So I paid a bit extra to get it installed. After hours getting through tons of terrible instructions that didn't work, stumbling to somewhere in darkness, adding new required software and creating accounts here and there, I finally got through to someone. And? They ended up not being able to install. Most of that was wasted time. I haven't even been able to download the software yet.

So much to do. So little energy. I hit some dishes then set up another load of dishes. A batch of meat crumble was fried, then a small batch of pasgetti was made. I like how I write it better. I found aloe vera gunk for sunburns, I have started using it. It starts out tacky, then is slowly absorbed to a normal skin feel. Not sure it will work, but anything to help with the dry cracking to near bleeding hands. Just very small parts on a few knucles, but...
I figured something out with the kefir. If I want it sweeter it needs to effervesce. If I want it cold and effervescent then I need to give it room in the jar. For a quart, say 60% full. If I do this, after double fermentation, I don't mind the chunky consistency. Though I could blend it, if I have doubts about that. Besides, the bubbles and whatever else happens in the described scenario enhances the flavor enough that I don't mind.
I also went through the ordering system to find where whatever went awry. Spam. Everything was going to spam. I will see about getting that going. Ugh but the stupid shit can bury a... guy. I'll get to it.
Oh, actually that isn't a bad run? Not really bad at all. More could have been done, if so too a lot less. Until I did the list, and even more was done. No, it's okay. I'm just buried in to much pokey diddly crap, so it doesn't ever feel like I am getting anywhere. Little stuff, none of which actually finishes anything. Drowning in nothingburgers. Ugh.

To bed around 17:50, up at 1:00, mostly. Very needed sleep. I pushed way into days and did much. I was somehow ready. Just getting the machine to work was an exercise in near futility. The continued failures, going on through. No trick to it, an absurd persistence beyond reason, tenacity some might call it. As to the printer? I will be tinkering with the cartridge. As I recall, those can be reactivated. Not sure these days, but used to be true. Barring that I'll just have to go back to town, old cartridge in hand.
First thing, I set the dishes back up, had a dose of kefir, checked everything, fed the starter which is beginning to bubble (it is going to be fed twice a day from now on, stirred another time), and checked the litter... three very small gifts. The girls are getting pushy. But I won't feed them too much, too fast. And back to once a day, save on feast days.
Ah, something I will be doing, once the ap flour sourdough gets going, is switching some of it to whole wheat, then, in time, some to spelt then einkorn. After a bit of testing, to see if any are lower glycemix indexed, I'll go from there. Rye too? I have the rest of my life to find out. Might as well get to it. Plus, it's sort of fun. Oh, and I could begin grinding my own wheat. And sprouting the berries on top of it? Could happen. Yeah. Heck yeah.
Back to it. Oh, I best wear gloves while washing. While the water is hot enough to burn, that... isn't quite my issue. It's simply the water. Too much washing and my finally healed skin is beginning to go down hill again. I don't need pretty hands, I do need to avoid open sores. Gloves I have. I'll need some sort of lotion too. Should have some. I wonder if feet stuff would work.

I can still type!

There is so much that has to be worked to make a new computer functional... newer. Just getting gmail to accept the new device was an absolute struggle. They don't want you to change devices. That took two hours, more? Now to the printer. I got the drivers downloaded and installed. But the black ink is "out". Idiot thieves. *sigh* It's probably too old to have ink cartridges in the stores, so new machine, tomorrow.
The video works. The only real problem is the highest rez is 800x600. Bleh. It's horrible. I checked everywhere, hoping it was just a setting limit for the bureaucrats who had been using this device. Nope, it's a cap, at least with the limits of the onboard card. I'm not sure a new card can be added. It would be a small old one, so possibly cheap. Sometimes they rook you on even those. "Demand", they say. Bunk.
Seriously, a lot of work to get this thing going. A bunch of hardware and software hurdles so far, more to come. That I am writing my post on it is something. Brave, first thing. Though I will try a few others. Well, and still waiting for the security codes. Bleh. They take your money quickly enough, then take their time getting you what you need.
Grumpy, from hits and misses. Tired, it's been a long day. I've done good work. Until the machine and printer are all going, I'm out of the kitchen. Mostly. Perhaps I can get to dishes in the morning. Good night.

Not bad.

Half of the returns, or all returns to one of the two places where returns are to be made. Have you ever noticed that in order to be precise and accurate... well... it takes a bit. As to the other returns, they require a printer, which then needs a computer and Internet access. The computer has the wrong port for either of my monitors. That has been ameliorated. A simple connector and it works. Before I jack into the net I'll see what security software is worth adding, free or pay. Although before that, a real browser. Brave, perhaps others. Ad blocking, full stop ahead. Messy business. I wonder if I can still type!
Beyond that, cat litter, cat food, a stop at the post, and a few other things. Oh, I was wrong about the gas. The tank was full. It just looked empty. I'm such a clotz. Anyway, I can't get the machine to kick over, if that may just be operator error. Probably. However, I do have gas. And am an idjit. :)
I'm telling you, I think I'm turning over a new leaf. If things are still odd. I seem to have puffed a bit, in the belly etc. So, what do you, or I anyway, do when weight gain is suspected? No, not cry like a girl, if I had such intentions. You jump... uhrm, tip-toe... onto the scale. 260. 260? I thought I'd be ten, may twenty or worse, above that. F'ing fat days are stupid!
I am getting to things. Working as I can. Chugging along. Getting places, doing things, cooking as hoped, kefiring kefir, attempting sourdough (as well as thinking about sprouting the grains, as well as considering einhorn and spelt)... Oh, and catching up on the cave, a bit. Even remembered a syphon for the whey... with a bulb. No sucking or worse.
Off to do some research. Of course, who knows if the printer still runs. Just another thing to fix if not. Later.

Naps are usually worth it.

This one was perfect. A bit long, down at 3:13, awake at 6:30, but Iam as fully charged as possible. I found a receipt for a larger return. Now to get the printer working for some amazon returns. All good.
If I get those finished, then it is back to the kitchen. While I turned my back for what seemed like a second, dishes piled up. Wow, just wow. Oh, I'll get to them. The good and bad of a kitchen sink is, generally, you can't do more than a basinfull or two at a time before needing to change water, which for me, often, is break time. When doing it in the big tub it was all or nothing. I like the new way much better.
Hopefully I can do most of my business functions today, then rest a day or two, along with the rest. The nap could help me dig further back into a day schedule. With the return of winter on the heels of spring, everything is up in in the air. As days lengthen, but some of those days are hidden in darkness, things just get fuzzy.
A bit more waking, a shower, then the printing... hopefully. Good morning and day.

That's a bit odd.

Just a food thing. I just realized I have been fasting more seriously right through cooking. I haven't been eating all the souffle. Even if I had, that doesn't amount to much. That has been all I have been eating. It isn't even that I don't have anything to eat, even food already made, roast beef, boiled eggs, salad, and more. Just... forgot to eat else.
Trash and recycling went out. It doesn't look like a recycling day though, by what the neighbors have out. That truck must arrive terribly early, before 6:00. I'll tell you, packaging the trash, filling liner bags, and that, for the house, was more difficult than shoveling. It's the bending, not the weight or anything else. I did reset to the new system, where I have two small portable bins which can be tied shut then those put int a larger bin. Especially good for specific trash. It would be nice to remove recycling, specifically cat food cans, more often, but they simply don't accumulate quickly enough.
Oh, I usually keep four bags per bin, small insurance against leaks. That had lapsed. So, with eight cans by four bags per? That explains it... seven actualy as I washed one out. It is drying. Still, that is 28 bags installed. Oh, and grocery bags over the smaller, lessor, cans with the bags mostly as backup. Ugh. Tired.
I thought about a shower, setting up the computer, and digging in elsewhere. I just hit a wall. Nap time. Later.

No gas.

The machine was empty, the can too. Have to get out soon, won't compact the snow. Back to the shovel. For as deep as it was in some places, it didn't cover the whole drive or all the walk. Very strange. That left twenty yards to shovel, from an inch to five with a smooth tilt from one depth to the other. A very odd leaving. Oh, I'll remember the tank next time I get to town.
Not a complaint. The fresh air, chill, and mild work was a resplendent constitutional. Seriously. The machine actually does a better, cleaner, tighter job. I believe it's faster, if on small jobs that wouldn't show or it might lose out. Still, I was not just happy to do it, I was glad to be able to do it. Amen.
Now to shower, put the computer up, then figure out the rest of the night. Oh, also, I really don't mind being misunderestimated. There... probably isn't another way to it. I've understood for a long time. It isn't me I worry about in that regard. I'll give you the first stone to cast, should you wish. If that... isn't what it seems either. :p Later.

Snow, a headache, general pain.

Can't complain. I've had a good run and I'm not out just because I am down. I'll get out on the machine shortly. Even with how easy winter has been I knew it wasn't over. I almost (do) expext more, maybe a touch of what is happening in much of the rest of the winter world. My mother says that while they aren't getting snow, the bitter cold has gotten to her this year. She isn't a winter bird, but she is hale. ;}
Hmm, this will be the first time I have been on the machine. I guess the neighbors didn't need or want it. I'll get to give it a shot. I should have watched him, if I think it'll work out just fine. I am definitely curious. After that I have to set up my computer. Bleh. I just hope the monitor cable I have will work. Yeah, it's about time.
I really thought to take a shower first, but no. I'll do the blade work first. Just literally thinking out loud. Hmm, I wonder if I scared the neighbors off, or finally?
No cooking tonight. Or nothing fancy. Just don't want to, if the eggs might be suspect at this point. Brought them to room temp for a while, hours. Oh, on a good note, whatever problem I was having with eggs is done. I am careful though, making sure they are fresh when I buy, that they go right in to the fridge, and that they get tossed after about two weeks. A new fridge would add a week or two, but this old machine has absorbed way too much... odor... and else.

Ah, souffles.

I did get going on them. Finished. Good? Yes and no. Needed powdered sugar to make the apples pop. More, I couldn't taste the cheddar. I was a little miffed, mostly at myself... I ended making too much roux batter to fold in with the egg whites, by at least a third. Which means I both watered the flavoring ingredients down and then only used half of those ingredients. Practice. I did figure how to partially salvage the souffle. Oh, and I keep forgetting to light the oven. However I figured out how to check doneness, or better. When it smells right, look at the color and level. Give it three minutes. If the color darkens and there is no rise I would call it done.
I don't think I am up for another batch. It's just a bit much. Much is clean, some of it reset. But, yeah, no. I keep checking else, kefirs and sourdough starter. It's all getting there. Not much else. A shower shortly, then? Perhaps general cleaning in the kitchen and trash and recycling out.
Oh, I ended up double paying my mortgage and they are being jerks about it. They did that on purpose too, scabs. Yeah, so some plans are set back. There is something rotten with their billing on top of that. I'll have to dig into that soon. Damned thieves. Later.

Time is a funny thing. Though tasks are never what the seem. There is always more to do. And I think I can do more between the caramelizing of apples and grating of cheddar. While I can, it often slows everything else down, especially if I find other tweener jobs. While that will always be a problem, if the kitchen gets stowed it will be less of a problem. Which is what I was doing. The surfaces near the stove and the stove top, dishes as they were being used. Other bits.
The next souffle is waiting on the roux and then the egg whites. I tasted the cheddar as I was grating it. That is the best tasting aged cheddar I have ever eaten. I will definitely save the package. Amazing. Difficult to grate. I have to bet there is a better way. I'll look that up. I am looking forward to this. The apples were carefully diced for size, then prepared. I may have slightly overcooked, but I think it'll turn out swell. Real sugar this time, monkfruit next? I want to see what I am up against.
All of the experiments are doing well. Nothing seems to have died, or become aggressive. I could separate some of it, some not so much. The kefir water is maturing, becoming less sweet, while the grains continue to expand for whichever cause. I am, actually, beginning to taste things at various stages... foods while cooking, the various kefirs, even the starter. Back to cooking in earnest. It'll take a while to get the tongue back to food wisdom and knowledge but it will get there.
A bit of tea, then to finish my break, then back to it. Perhaps another batch later, swiss and? Later.
