Sleep was rather lame.

.
.
I did finally slide into bed, at some point. I simply become worn down enough to collapse and the world becomes just cool enough to allow sleep. It is no finer than that. I woke at some point, when the heat became unbearable for sleep, rose, and headed out into the main of my home. It is still too hot to do much. I step outside, from time to time, to heat up enough that coming back into my home makes it seem cool for a bit. I do need to get to town. I am out of a few things, including wet cat food. Oh the girls howl, whine, and beg, then finally drift off when they realize nothing is in the offing, other than dry catfoot.

I prefer to give them more wet cat food than not, too. It's not just a preference. They get much better meat protein and fat from the canned stuff then they do from the dry. They are decidedly not vegetarians. But the only way for the biscuits to keep their shape is to add lots of grain. Actually, not only aren't cats vegetarians, it has been strongly suggested that what little protein exists in dry cat food from the grains and vegetables is indigestible for cats. As a nearly solid meat eater myself, by needs and wants I think, I do understand. Lucky cats. I have heard of vegetarians having their cats removed because they were being starved to death on vegetarian "cat food". Fucking idiots. My cats are lucky, mostly. If I were richer they would be even more lucky. If I were only slightly more eccentric and much wealthier I would feed them the vegetarians who starved their 'siblings'! :)

Dreams have been common lately. I have been remembering them, but only for a short while after waking at best. Mostly fun dreams, then again I like scary dreams as much as I like wildly inventive ones. I haven't been bothering to change my dreams as they have been good enough. All I know about the last one is that it was exceptionally funny, in a wry way. I can't remember anything about it, just grinning in my sleep so much that laughing broke out until I became too close to wakefulness to maintain my dream state.

Hmm, on to burning daylight, as I can do little else at the moment. Good day.

  1. What about fish for the cats, don't they love that?

  2. Well, there is that. It would mean setting up my rods, reels, lures, and spending gas money to go find a place with fish. Then it would require success. I have, as yet, not had much success fishing.

The fisherman, locally, seem to be immigrants with, oddly, lots of time on their hands or sport fisherman (who often return what they catch, which makes the fish rather smart). A stock fisherman has little chance. When I begin hiking the trails, I might take some gear and see if I can... improve. But not in this heat, against that competition.

Oh, too, unless I got excessively good at fishing? The cats would be in line behind me in the eating. Until I get more than my fill, they have years of waiting. I might even eat trout sashimi, just taking a sharp knife (I always do) a lemon and some salt and pepper. A good way to eat smaller fish, to be sure.
