Just a few kinks in the process.

.
.
Pleased to have done even the little bit I did yesterday and this morning, and after a goodly if short prayer, I slept like a baby.  Just waking an hour or two ago I realize I have a few kinks.  None of the work, even the pick and shovel work, was all that difficult.  I have simply not be active so the combined works have a few of my body parts out of adjustment.  If I can roll fast enough though I would like to get out and pick and shovel a bit more, get my shoes and boots polished, do another load or two of laundry, and see about finishing the last of the dishes.  I have pork cutlets thawed and chicken gizzards finishing the thawing process.

By the way, how large is your consumption library?  I mean, what have you eaten in your life?  I have eaten some odd things, by some standards.  I found a list of 100 things people should "eat" in their lifetime.  Actually I have eaten all but a handful.  What I haven't done is had many various drink substances (or rotted/fermented fish).  When you look at the list you may need to actually look up the food.  For example, there were three foods listed that, until I looked them up, I would not have guessed I had eaten them (tongue and heart, for example, which I have cooked in my OWN home, in the last two years).  Oh, and some things look a lot like things I have eaten.  If you have eaten head cheese (not a cheese at all, by the way) I consider that as a fulfillment of one of the items.  And some things are just silly.  If you have eaten little and big squid, does it really matter if you have eaten a particular size (though live might be different but that wasn't on the list I don't think).  Some things just have never been available.  Some things are simply too exotic, using vegetables or fruits from a very small region, probably not even exported or even technically harvested.  I was amazed at how much of the non-drink foods I have had on that list.  Your mileage may vary.

Oh, there was something on there I consider to have been eaten. Something I enjoyed greatly. Something I want to make here at home soon. Bo tai chanh looks absolutely delicious. Now I know I have eaten beef carpacio before, definitely, a number of times. And it is delicious. The other? The last time I ordered something like it, though with a different name I can't remember, I had it explained that it was similar to beef carpacio but did have a distinct citrus note. So, whether I ate bo tai chanh or not is unclear. Still, I really want to make some of that myself. I have had shrimp ceviche, made tilapia ceviche and scallop ceviche. But BEEF ceviche? Woot! Beef AND ceviche... in one dish? Now that sounds delish! Oh, right, my stomach got excited from reading the list, if you can keep the fermented fish (probably). I would love to try true barbocoa too, as well as a thousand dishes I have curiosity about that aren't on the list. Yeah, I might be a foodie. It isn't to be exclusive, though. I'm just... curious... hungry... adventurous.

Hmm, back to the here and now. I did miss Mass. I really didn't see a way around that. I had things to do, could do them, did do them, but couldn't have slept anyway. I can let one goal go in order to make a primary goal. And I might still be able to make Mass tomorrow, depending on what is decided and who needs what no matter what is decided about this and that. I know, I KNOW, but I only have one 'me' and that one isn't so great. You can't make a catfish fry dinner with only carrots, broccoli, and peanuts, 'kay? Yeah, a bit more picking and grinning, then to polishing shoes (and boots while I'm at it), laundry, soaking pots and pans (for now), maybe a meal later if I have time, cleaning toilets, and a pre-shower after that so tomorrow's shower will see me to more of the pick dust out of my hair, maybe all of it. Even with a baseball cap on my bean I must get a pound of dirt in my hair when I do that!

Hmm. Later.
