is what the doctor should have prescribed? I am solidly on half doses of carvedilol, the rest is at full dose. Insulin is up to 35 cc per day, taken at bedtime. My weight is about 274, but on a lower dose of the water pill. Yeah, I finally got the scale out and set up. Quite a nice one, actually. My blood sugar was at 177. Not great, but it beats the 280-350 range it was at. Oh, and that surprises me. I have stopped using any sweetener, and eat very little carbs otherwise anyway. Splenda was fine, but the cost, at $10 for five pounds, was untenable. So... I go without. If I want sweet, from time to time, regular sugar. It will just be quite rare. But my blood pressure amazed me. It was right at 134/92 or so! Pulse was a little high, but I had been chasing the meat squirrels for fun and exercise before I remembered to take my stats.
Yes, I said it. I now call cats meat squirrels! Enjoy! I do. *meow*
I am adrift, still. There is little I can push or pull. And I still have to upgrade medicines. Yeah, I could stop here, but there are reasons even I agree on going a little further with medication. If I can stay on it for two years straight, then I will begin wanting to check function and consider reducing levels. But for now, and for a while, this is the best policy. Later.
