If I have it right, I was down by around nineteen hundred and some varied change. Larger or small change I can't say. I do, think, I remember it being definitely 19:xx when I went down. But the other numbers are lost in gui calibration issues? And, I woke at 4:44, but it took a while to pull out, get up, get going. I don't think I got downstairs until shortly after five. Within two decades, probably on the lessor side of that.
Medicine in, coffee just about finished. Takes me a while to finish coffee. As well, cod liver oil down. I try to take it with coffee, as I use two to three tablespoons of cream in it. Fat soluble with fats, just saying.
The bitters I ordered should be on the way. And, while I suggested to another that perhaps he find alcohol free stuff, that was before I thought of that. Even I have some issues with alcohol. Or... might. So? So today, I went looking. I found two bitter solutions which are alcohol free. I ordered one, put the other in my basket. I don't mind having several to experiment with. One may work better than the other. And, perhaps, the alcohol based one, arriving today, will do just fine. I... don't know. I will find out.
However, I am looking forward to trying it. Even my coffee, with just that amount of cream, is enough to cause mild nausea. A whole (even half of some) steak, half pound of burger, eggs depending on what they are fried in (but absolutely bacon, so I can't eat bacon), all of that can cause nausea. So... you can see my problem with carnivore.
I have... or had... improved. I could eat slightly more fat. Learning to not eat it while it was hot... going to try adding less salt... using bitters... having kefir and/or vinegar tonics before/after meals... little things, to help. Plus, just getting used to more fat. It's an acquired taste, one I have lost while not being able to cook. Or the fatted coffee wouldn't be giving me troubles. Ugh.
So, yes. I'll let my reader... or commenter anyway... know if I notice anything, and possibly which I prefer. Not... that it will help him directly. Though, I have noticed? If someone likes something I hate? I can, often, reliably use that as a base to look in a slightly different direction when seeking remedy. No hate, just... taste is so subjective! And function? That... changes over time too. What works today may not work tomorrow. Which makes having several types of bitters on hand a good(er) thing. To my mind.
Life is an experiment you can't win. But you don't have to lose, or quit, and shouldn't. If something doesn't work, try something else, try it in a different way, try it again straight up. Learn to like what you don't like. That's how I made it through math in engineering school. It's also how I learned to enjoy cabbage and brussels sprouts... the latter causes salivation upon consideration, these days.
Play to win, know you will lose, enjoy the trip. The options aren't good, and often are permanent. Pray for those who... didn't understand. Lost their way. I tell you, there is hope for them. I saw the hope, in afterlife. Anyway... On to things. Water and electrolytes.
Oh, refrigeration didn't help the eggs peel better, mostly. But with the flesh of the egg a little more solid, from the coolness, it has been easier to keep the eggs more intact while taking the particles off. It's as good as it will get. I'll store some of the eggs a bit longer, next time. Still, they are wonderful. Later.
Only time I think of bitters is when I'm nauseous or reading this... So haven't tried yet. Don't think the alcohol would be much of a factor in the small amounts needed. But like you said different "formulas" may give different results.
ReplyDeleteMight have to revisit the Vinegar, drank vinegar and water solutions while trying to quit alcohol. Can't do it now, makes me think of withdrawal and detox, the taste alone makes me want to drink...or puke... weird. Little steps.
Always loved Brussels sprouts, as a kid I thought they were cool bite sized cabbages, then I saw how they grew and they just went up on my cool veggies list (what, you don't have cool food lists?)
Just rabbit holed vitamin K (brussels sprouts) 'nother thing I've got to check on. I bruise so easy, damaged liver can't produce near normal amounts of an enzyme that strengthens blood vessel walls, so they weaken. Collard greens& spinach I can stand (3-4 times the vit.K as sprouts) Since the liver is involved, maybe a supplement would be better than relying on a damaged liver to process the different forms into the next form. "Dammit Jim! I'm not a doctor".
Oh, vinegar tonics. I love those. Great with electrolytes too. But, glad I am not the only one who connotated those with drinking. For me, mostly, they remind me of scotch... at least apple cider vinegar ones. The red wine or white wine vinegars, I prefer to find with the mother, were of a different sort. Never quite nailed what those reminded me of. But, yes.
ReplyDeleteI had, secretly, hoped for a bit of a dry drunk with those. Sadly, or really gladly, no. But the... feel... sense... yep.
The four ways I do those is just with water, with water and electrolytes, with carbonated flavored waters (think La Croix), or with electrolytes and carbonated flavored waters.
La Croix has replaced my beers. I like hibiscus, guavo sau paulo, and some others. But plain, if you can't find flavors you can tolerate.
