It's... an acronym? Yes, that's the term. For? N.a.v.y. Oh, you want the words? Never. again. volunteer. yourself. Well, I went and blew it. The meeting was tonight, to begin plotting our enslavement. Very temporary. But, okay. A KoC meal. I had told a number of folk I would be involved. Just... in the meal. But that I would help. More so if one of the individuals would not be there.
Now, he was supposed to teach me. But the one chance I knew of for him to do so I was down. He didn't seem interested though, either. Didn't even wish to speak with me. Which... is why I have been staying out of the KoC. And church, beyond that.
One of the officers, of a higher rank, in the org, had given me serious hate at a meeting. I attempted to get our grand knight to inquire, or set up a time I could meet with this officer. He refused. And... well... I didn't want to be were I wasn't wanted. It... was more than just him, but the intensity of his hatred was... intense.
So, I show up to the meeting. And... guess who shows up too? That officer. As well as his replacement. Right. Right. Of course, we had the meeting to get through. There were... some there... who knew. And... saw what was coming. No way to change it.
Meeting ends, and I wait. And wait, and wait, and wait. Oh, someone is avoiding. But there are things going on beyond. Eventually, though, there is no way out. And, so, we get to it. I am direct, ask him if he has some issue with me? He denies. Lying to my face, but... so be it. I suggest, if he has any issue with me, that he attend it now. As it is an impediment to my involvement with KoC and the church. Again, he denies it. I ask his replacement, who I have whiffed the same problem with through the meeting. But, nope. He, too, completely fails to carry the conviction he had worn on his face the whole meeting.
Whatever. I wish they had been able, or willing, to come clean. But, as is, this issue is... mostly... resolved. I still have a few others to speak with. I will have this thing clear. But, if it is clear? I will begin attending, at least when possible. I won't hold office, I won't be where I am certain I am not wanted. If certain of the knights are running something, I won't be there.
But, I can go, and help with meals, and such. Nothing too physical. I'm on the edge. And today, for the first time, it got hot as blazes (to me). I have limits. But setting up and sitting a table, to sell items. Or make or serve food. And just to offer thoughts, through time. Sure. If things settle, and stay settled, I'll consider more.
As is, I did speak with the gent who will be running the meals. I let him know that if he wants work, I'll do that. If he needs help, with this or that, in preparing, buying items early to take in, and such, I'll do that. Not on my dollar, though if it is easier. I'll just bring in the receipt(s). And, I met a fellow I met at the meal I was to for the KoC a few weeks ago. Good guy. Former engineer. Always good to talk to such folk. For me. They... think differently... we do I could say. That health wouldn't allow me to get a degree in a timely fashion, or work, doesn't mean I didn't go there. A natural, real, unaltered A+ in engineering calculus II... lends credence. Even just a B+ in eng calc III was... okay.
Anyway. I'll check it out, see where and what I can do. But, for now, the past is the past. But if that dog gets up and starts barking again, we will deal with it most immediately and directly. Don't flash me hate, we will manage this. It's how I do.

Earlier I did get to the wound clinic for my regular two week appointment. I finally got them to admit my healing is... phenomenal. Well, for the new wounds. Even my bruise... they are impressed. They don't want to be? I don't quite understand. But... maybe they just like seeing my smiling face ever so often? Nah? It's an ugly mug. Even I don't like looking at it. *grins*
Back to an older type of wound care. I messed up, but they want to shake things up again. All good. I don't mind. I just... take their instructions, and run with them. Doing my best.
With the bitters here, the propane on tap, meat thawed, and the bitters arrived and seeming to work well... there is some real hope that I can get back on higher doses of protein, which along with the collagen, fat consumption, and getting diabetes back under stricter control, maybe I can finally get this wound to heal... and take off the last thirty to forty pounds of body fat needed for a fuller health recovery.
Hmm... Some kefir, and another fatted coffee. Then on to bed. Goodnight.
This... your post and comment, 1/22/07? you are not AI. Not in '07
ReplyDeleteOh, I told you when I started a deep dive, I'd tell you. You're told.
Should be napping (schedule change for training), bored, not feeling like Utooob, so, I'm time traveling back 17 years. A good high school buddy of mine passed in April '07 he was still alive when you posted, yet was gone when you commented.
"Ain't it strange how the night moves"
Yes, I've read some of these older posts before, on other tries to dive in. Will be interesting to see if I can tell where I started lurking here.
I commented back on the 07 post, old post, moderation I get it, that's why I put this one here.
Well... first things first. Interesting when a collusion of events leads to a dark, maybe hard memory. But after time, so things have... eased. The Romans, and probably peoples before them, had a saying that they hoped, in time, that these (dark, hard, memories) too would be comforting, or joyous, or funny, or kind... soft? The word in there, at the end, could be taken many ways. So, my wish is that the revived memory be a good one, in some way.
ReplyDeleteYou may continue to comment, on the old posts. And, that comment is there, now, too. You just won't see it until I allow it. My site was being crashed by spammers, advertisers, and nuts putting whatever back then. So I set it up to check anything going in. The newer stuff I can see and remove as necessary.
As to lurking. Wow, okay. See, when you suggested you had been lurking, I thought you meant, like, for a few weeks, or even maybe a year. You were deep lurk! To be honest, I didn't think there were any real readers here. I see, or suspect I see, that locals, even in my church, read here. But with not absolute, concrete, evidence, I... Well, that means there has been one reader, for sure, for... a while. *chuckles*
Good enough memories, he was my backup as right defensive tackle, I expected him to regal my children with tales of me fighting valiantly on the gridiron...(chuckle)"hey, I had some good moments" sadly he passed too soon...38, way too young, was a grandfather... way too young. Wonderful storyteller (Was an excellent DM at D&D) served as a nuke MM on the USS Georgia, and museum staff on USS Nautilus.
ReplyDeleteStrange thing, I'd run across the "program" for his funeral just hours before I went back, deep dive, and I saw the timeframe... Pete Axtell, you are missed.
I sometimes forget that this is open to everyone, I've given out enough info (just on your blog, never-mind the others) for a relatively smart person to figure out exactly who I am... and that is sad and scary.
Another tidbit... my location stamp for url? is in the greater SF bay area. So you can tell if it MAY be me, or not.
