.
Again, again. It is 20:27 as I wake. I slept well, hard. With the ac on since it was afternoon. It is still on. I'll want to turn it off before too long. It is just down to 80 out there, but in the mid to low 70s everywhere, but 78 here. Which... honestly, with the fan going, is pleasant. Need a bit of warmth to kick the machine over.
Feeling better mostly. Oh, the complaints remain, they are simply much milder. Blood sugar had been 172 earlier when I was awake. It is now 133. For reasons, none, or maybe that was my body having some sort of hiccup in which blood sugar just wasn't... working, or was being mass produced for good or no reasons. I have noted, at times, when my organs hurt, blood sugar can go a bit sideways. There is nothing to be done for it. But, 133 is better than 172, I'll happily take it.
Water, then. And water as I wake. I would like to boil eggs for this evening, and the week really. Will see. I have heard boiling fresh eggs with salt or vinegar helps, but I haven't seen that. I have heard that dumping them from a boil, draining, then into an ice bath, will do too. I haven't tried that. It WOULD cool them sooner, but help with peeling?
The problem with much advice is that it is based on using storebought eggs. Even when they say they are free-range, that is likely a legally undefined word. Besides, the reason to free-range, or pasture, chickens, is so they can eat bugs. Could you imagine forty thousand chickens getting anything but stones in the area they would be released? Just how much space would you need for a chicken, for it to honestly be free-range? Same with the term cage-free. Organic? How much non-organic feed is allowed? Understand, they will use every bit of that, and then some. Is it 15%, 25%, 50%? And, you know, they will use the absolute worst non-"organic" feed. GMO corn and soy, of various percentages, based on season. Corn keeps them warmer in the winter. Like all higher carb/sugar feed, whether for humans or animals.
Anyway. They don't use actually pastured, truly organic fed, chickens. So their eggs are differently. Not even sure they feed enough protein. Just enough to get the eggs to your home, mostly intact. Nothing more. Just saying. Good eggs boil differently from... whatever it is you are actually getting at the store. The eggs I get, to date, are vastly superior to anything, at any price, I have found in any store. But, they boil differently, and are so very much fresher. From chicken to me.
Hmm? Oh, rambling am I? Fine.
Not sure I will get to much else today. Hoping to get a shower. As well, to get recycling and trash out, and to the curb. Nothing much else. Oh, but Pioneer(ing?) Day is coming up (unless it has already happened)? Ugh. Ah, a stupid question, sent and answered. No extended weekend, either way. Very good. It has taken me over a decade to get to the point where health, and awareness, have brought me to a point where there question could be raised, and finally asked. Okay.
Yes, when you are almost as dead as a man can be, questions aren't important if they don't affect you in any real way. Too tired to even realize there could be a conflict, and what sort. Too ill to be taking trash and maybe recycling out on any particular week. Or, even if awareness or wonder presented, doubts, too tired to think to ask. You have... no idea how... difficult things are, can be, in such a condition.
Not going to complain, just noting how reality works for me at times.
Well? I don't know. On to waking, looking around. Eventually getting trash and recycling out. Then a shower. Maybe looking for shims. Perhaps even tinkering with the dishwasher, and r.o. system. Or... not. I'll... see. Later.
