Good long sleep.

.
.
No Sam, ac and fan, a very long day and the relaxation of foot work, all combined to a very solid sleep.  I think it was 21:00 when I went down.  I posted it, so can check.  I woke right around 5:00 and small change.  Eight hours, about as exactly as possible?  I'm just a bit surprised, thought it would have been longer.  Still tired, not tired enough to sleep.

Fasting blood sugar was higher, 199.  I guess that just happens still.  It is the weekend, so fasting.  Just two days, beginning food again Monday, midday.  From now on, the goal is to begin fasting Friday, to get three days in.  Mondays are bad enough, adding fasting is cruel and unusual punishment.

Today?  Back to my list.  Yes, bits and parts are getting checked off, slowly.  That will continue as well as some planting.  Trash will begin being corralled.  Oh, maybe, finally, a shave.

It is amazing how much less Sam eats than I thought.  Which... also means a lot less litter pan use, along with her being outside on warmer days as long as she can be.  I am still holding some hope.  But if Sassy doesn't return by, say, fall, I may try to find another girl.  Sam needs a cat "friend" as much as I need another cat.  I'll look for a slighly older gal, 'someone' who lost a home, one who has probably had kits.

Well, on back to waking.  Looks like the sun might be working it's way to a serious shine.  Later, good morning and day.

Wow, yes, bedtime.

.
.
I had to push things to make an appointment.  I cancelled my massage, and if this hadn't snuck up on me, I would have cancelled this.  Just... unsure of some things.  Glad I didn't, for several reasons.  Still...  I needed the foot work and the new woman does well.  I just wasn't sure.  Even with a jammed pinky toe, the pedicure was fantastic.  Feet were good, especially since I've not been caring for them.  They are becoming lower maintenance.

After, grocery shopping.  More and new veggies, canned.  Plus unsweetened pears.  A few meats, chicken hindquarters and burger.  A few general refills of standards... potatoes, cottage cheese...  Life is good when you have enough to get by without pain or starvation.  Or, at least, those which can't be avoided.  Sometimes I can't eat, sometimes I must hurt.

A long day.  No nap.  Up at, say, 3:00?  Going down at 21:00.  Just eighteen hours?  Is t seemed like a lot more.  Good night.

Sometimes they get it.

.
.
Better than I.  Friends, for my part.  Do they visit, see, then say as they will, even when I seem to be yam who yam who disturbs?  This time not so disturbing, if I had to do homework.  Something... about a painting caught my mind.  Too familiar.  Endymion, and Selene, Diana.  Innit.

A next day.

.
.
Fasting blood sugar is 159.  Sure, it isn't 104, but it is well below 300's, even 200's.  The trend is still very down.  The 30, 14, and 7 day averages are 227, 202, and 174.  My aftermeal average for the last seven days is 170, which means my fasting blood sugar is what is tacking my average higher, as my beforemeal 7 day average is 154.  So, as fasting goes to premeal average... all very good.  On 4/24 I had a 463 reading.  I didn't *cough* probably mention that then.  Now is a good time to note it.  :p

Make that 17:00.

.
.
Then again I wasn't able to crash untill nearly 14:00.  Mowing, again?  Well, I'll find out soon.  Yep, but returned at 18:00.  Worked on straightening tools and etc in the entry hall.  More to do, but a good start.  We both started slogging.  Lots of detailed organization is difficult for most men.  With two it was easier.  And working with tools, some of which are shiny, chrome, or techy helps.  Still, an hour of that was quite enough.  I'll do more tomorrow as work in the kitchen.

As I can cool I'll probably just go back to bed.  Tomorrow will be mostly planting and transplanting, plus standard list and/or shopping.  Good, good.  Later, or most likely good night.

Just about naptime.

.
.
I wanted to stay up longer, but I need sleep to work.  The meal jumped the blood sugar 63 points, to 195.  And I am going to have peaches and cottage cheese as a late dessert.  I'll just have to live with things for now.

I contacted a vendor who sent rough gear.  I requested an exchange, unless everything is rusty.  Then I just want a refund.  Not store credit, not exchange, if they don't have quality equipment.  These guys really push things.  I'll see in a day or two.  It isn't much, saving efforts for later.  Snack and rest.  I'll set my alarm for 16: 00.  I think it  will work this time.

Later.

Some snacks won't work?

.
.
After the firs test, I tested again, before eating.  Just a snack, really.  Pork rinds, which I was assured would be good for diabetes and keto.  A single serving, which isn't enough by the way, pushed blood sugar from 164 to 201... a bit excessive.  However, after three hours, blood sugar is down to 132, my second lowest or close.  Perhaps it isn't too wrong, maybe a snack needs to jack it to reset it?  Perhaps that is normal?  It will take time, experimenting, to get a better grasp.  And, yet, even now, the results are very good.

Now for a real meal.  Ribs heated, beans, and milk.  I am quite hungry.  I am handling hunger better though too.  I believe, after food, I am going to crash.  Sleep until the afternoon.  In hopes of being ready to do some work later.  Might go shopping this evening as well.  I can't quite shove my day around the regular way, perhaps I can trapse around another way.

Later.

A longer sleep.

.
.
Ten hours, give or take.  A good sleep.  I let Sam in later on.  I sometimes know I will be rolling a lot in order to get to sleep and stay that way.  Cats like to sleep right near me.  I thought I heard thunder.  It sounds to be sprinkling from time to time, but it isn't chill.  Oh, the boss was by.  He mowed.  Probably had at least three lawns to mow and little time, with weather forcing him to mow all before it rained again.  We have had a lot of rain.  That was the first nominally dry day in a bit.  I get it.

Today?  Still at laundry, dishes, sweeping the floors, kitchen and living room work, shopping, and paying utilities if I get out shopping.  I may buy fresh asparagus if I see it. Very good grilled.  I do need meat, but a few veggies, canned and fresh.  I've liked putting veggies back in, loving corn, really enjoying the rest.  And it is not a negative.  Oh, and potatoes are fine, every other day or three.  If I can find other unsweetened fruit, for variety, I'd gladly get some.  I really thought, even unsweetened, peaches would bust blood sugars... not so much.  Really missed those various items, and for a lie it seems.  Some mild moderation is all, not carb Nazism.

Fasting blood sugar is higher, at 175.  That is still a general trend lower.  The second meal wasn't needed, pushed things.  However, I need to eat to full on the one meal and find tolerable, by blood sugar, snacks.  I'll be trying pork rinds, if celery and various nutbutters, if there has to be more.  If there was something else.  I tried the last bottle of kefir water, it seemed to jack the blood sugar by at least 50?  I'll... be checking that several more times.  That might just not be doable.  Until I zero in foods and technique, if even then sometimes just because, the numbers are going to... vary.  Weekly several day fasting will definitely help the trend.  On the weekends.  I'd still like to try a five day, even seven day, fast at some point.  I know I can, if I can.  I used to do without for weeks, if I slept most of the time.  The difficulty may be that I can't sleep like that with improved health.

Good morning.  Time to wake.  Later.

Wednesday, May 16, 2018

As late as possible.

.
.
Crashing, hard.  It's just after 16:00.  Didn't need the second meal, especially that late.  I think I'll go one meal a day.  A couple of bills paid.  One more, utilities, next time I am out.  I figured out why it seemed extra hot.  The furnace was on.  While that is cool on cold days it wasn't so hot on warm days.  :p  I can't turn it off for continued risk of late freezing, I can turn it way down.

I best hit it.  Good night.

What a sun.

.
.
It burns.  I suppose it won't start as when it let off.  Shouldn't.  We need the heat, even fury, of that star to kick life out of the winter dark and cold.  Did I mention fury?  Just a bit out there was killer.  I'll have to work at it.  Still, a steak is due so I'll have to sneak out a bit more.  I had to go to the post today.  Two things I was expecting, one I was not.  Only half the asparagus roots took.  I put that in a review on Amazon, couldn't find a contact for the company.  No contact, they just sent a new bunch.  They'll get five and regaled.

I got a shower and cleaned the toilet and surrounds.  I'm stuck on the rest.  I am hoping to do more, and stay up to afternoon.  Finish laundry, hit the dishes... might not be possible.  Oh, bills and some paperwork.  Ugh.

I ordered a landline phone device to put a stop to false calls.  If I can get that to work, I will then quit the cellphone.  Heard of it at AoSHQ.  I'm hoping it works.

One of the items I was expecting was spices and herbs.  While they do international, nothing I ordered was from China, or others on my list of untrusted.  Trying some garlic and onion powder on the steak.  Many spices and herbs, mostly Italian types, though some mixes (including... Italian).  Oh, and catnip.

The steak is on.  I let it salt ans spice for an hour. It should be right.  Later.

Probably all laundry.

.
.
I had thought just two loads because I a burned out from folding.  However, the remaining loads are small.  I may not have enough wool or synthetics, though sometimes, if it seems right, I mix those two.  If there is enough even so.  I've turned over one load already.  The grill is going.  Pork ribs today, first meal.  Peas or on.  I'll have milk with the steak.  A small steak later.

Premeal blood sugar is 121.

After 'lunch', I'll hit the dishes.  Then the bathroom?  Later.

A solid and plans.

.
.
The solid first.  Fasting blood sugar?  127!  I was sure it was going to jack to the high hundreds, or on into two hundreds.  The body just, well, isn't logical.  It probably actually is, we just don't have even a majority of the constants and variables, less so for some.  Denying what science can't see is denying blind spots.  Only, I tell you the truth, there are more blind spots than even areas of seeming clarity.  Befriend a scientist, then get him to look behind his eyes for you.  Perhaps you don't have this skill?  Anyway, you find fear.  Because you realize he knows nothing, and fears all his work is ultimately wrong.  And I'll also tell you this truth.  His work is wrong.

That is whyfor engineers.  They do.  Scientists guess (wrongly).  More so in these dark ages of blind modernity.  They have butchered their art by implying it is functional.

Plans?  Dishes, more laundry.  Yes, I was seriously backed up, back to the last bedding change and further perhaps.  This damnable wet cold spring put a kink in my can-do.  If, in my devilish aspects, is okay too, sometimes.  Dishes were nearly as bad.  Which reminds me, disposable cups.  It's the only way.  A shave today, some bills, and another shower.  I already pulled the bins back, this morning(my night).  If I can, more kitchen and living room.  Been doing parts of parts in both places... not much or whole, just some here and there.  Hmm, bathroom before those, whole bathroom, down to mopping.

Well, so the plans go.  I don't think the boss showed last night.  I didn't hear him.  When I woke and checked no one was here.  Not sure what is happening.  Hope I'm not getting him in trouble?  Anyway...

Oh, and food.  I may go with two small meals, one meat only, and in a four hour window.  I want to let my blood sugar settle (usually lower) for the day, so two hours in, then test, then another couple hours in before eating.  The last time I experimented with intermittent fasting, that was the method most efficacious... for me, ymmv.  If I didn't have a reliable blood tester.  It did work for ketosis, which I believe to be a reasonable proxy?  And, I am currently in moderate to deep ketosis, if quite by happenstance.  Definitely possibly proxy.  :p  Pork, steak, and lamb to choose from.  Peas, asparagus, and green beans (canned), unless maybe the cabbage is still good?  Milk, but only for one meal a day, if up to two quarts.  Yum.

Well, on to waking.  I will put a load of laundry in, fluff the load in the dryer, start at least that.  Just those two loads today.  Then just wake until I can hit the dishes and bathroom.  Later.
-----------
Blood sugar rose to 135, after being awake for three hours.  Go figure.  Though... perhaps that is actually normal?  I do wonder how often my body does... very strange things.  Illness or just because, something about this meat suit seems different if medical and scientific studies, or observations, are to be believed at all.  I'll find out in time, maybe.  I'll test before I eat in a few more hours.  Still, I'll take even that number.  Oh, and weight is 255.  I'll take that as well.  If 240 is my ultimate (middle really) goal, breaking 260 has been difficult.  So I am well pleased.

Everything except a shave, and some.

.
.
I was moving so slowly I ended up doing two loads of laundry.  Showering.  Just couldn't do a shave.  Oh, just for giggles I decided to do a final blood sugar test.  104!  I can't be unhappy with that.  If I have the right tools I can get there on my own.  Crazy.  How long have I been working it?  A week?  Certainly not two.  It was around 330.  Yeah.  Gotta sell the junk, don't dare just say "Watch your piehole, and no pie".  Oh, and don't you dare eat meat especially red meat, and absolutely not fatty red meat!  Do. It. Myself.

Food, little else.

.
.
Steak, an incher, green beans whole can with a Doom sized dab of butter, half a can of unsweetened peaches with double the cottage cheese, and tea.  I took a premeal read.  It was 120.  After a couple hours, almost two, it reads 150.  I'll take that.  A load of laundry will be folded and a shower and shave.  It was 30... 3, 5, or 7... I think 33 F this morning.  Crazy for May.

I'd better hurry.  Want to wake when the boss arrives.  Good morning, night, and day.

Memories?  Mine?

Not much.

.
.
Well.  Steak and ribs thawing.  A pot of tea brewed.  A load of laundry folded.  I'll fluff the load in the dryer then switch those after this.  Then, maybe, do what dishes are ready.  If a steak thaws, I may eat one.  Blood sugar was 155 a bit ago.  It seems cooler than readings, a heads up that the body isn't up to snuff.  No guff, going into a third day of fasting.

I'll get the laundry going.  If I can, a shower, as well as getting a shave in this time?  Yeah.  I'll put the folded up, hang the rest, too.  Later.

Awake.

.
.
Right.  It feels more like I stepped out of my tomb again than I stepped out of my bedroom.  No, don't get me wrong, I feel good.  It is just that sleep was so... absolute.  There wasn't day, night, hot, cold, the world, or even a little bit of me sensed in any way.  Nothing.  And yet I can tell, from a previously made bed, I rolled like a bull in a summer waterhole.  I am well rested.  Bedtime was at or a bit after 10:30, I just woke at 20:30 and change.  Fasting blood sugar is 177.  The middle read last night was 145, and the final read was 136.  Very good.  Getting somewhere.

Suffering pays.

.
.
Hunger had seemed to leave.  It hit two or three times yesterday, mildly.  Today it is hitting me often, like a solid punch to the gut.  Blood sugar just read 145.  I can gladly suffer for that trend of result.  I am pretty sure, if I can get it into the 80 to 120 range, I can learn to medicate with food.  Check every few hours or when something is off.  I've become clean from diabetes at least twice before, which means keeping A1C's well within the normal range for a year, usually more as docs hate surrendering a diagnosis, even the ones on your side.  Doubting damn Thomas'.

Trash!  Almost forgot.  It was 4:38 before I got to it.  Done, and cleared the reefer of some yuck.  Nothing else, so far.  A nap would be good.  I just can't sleep.  It was chill, more rain as well.  It was around 32 F.  Even with the house at 72, after going out, it's as if it's 66 in here.  That wet spring chill is frigid in the way deep winter can't quite compare.

I should be able to do some more work tonight.  Probably.  Please?  Later.

Sunday, May 13, 2018

Yeah, there is that.

.
.
I'm a bad boy.  While finally getting to managing diabetes I forgot about the rest.  Just kept on doing what I wasn't doing.  I wasn't taking medicine.  I got held up with potassium, then finding vitamins, then... it all just timed out of memory.  It's probably a good thing I am not a fragile dead man walking.  Still, back to the grindstone.  I've got several days of potassium and all left.  I'll use that, look for vitamins and replace the potassium as side not main quests.  Quests?  Whatever gets the dogs barking, innit.

Lots of sleep, or so it seemed.  Gathering what feeble wits are mine to muster, then using those to account downtime, it was between six and seven hours.  Short, but I didn't wake for anything.  Most nights, say 99.9-100% for the last five years, since the water pill, going at night has become customary.  Usually four to six times, if lately often down to two or three... massages, pedicures, and working, all help open channels so I drain better in the day.  Huh?  You seemed to be dozing.  :p  Or was that me?

Today?  I've already started!  Soaking dishes were given some rubba-dub, then their soak redone.  A fresh load of laundry was set, the load in the dryer given a refresh.  Actually a few other bits and parts were kicked out, if... I am not awake enough to quite recall.  Heck yeah, I'm on things.  I just have to make sure trash and recycling are put out, 4:00 is about as far into the morning as I dare.  Beside thinking of other things to go, and moving slow, it... better before that time.

Resting blood sugar is 196.  Not great, but it is resting.  I was hoping for better.  Pretty small improvement after a day without food.  Then again, something jaggered it a lot higher a few days ago.  I am in recovery mode just from that.  On the good side, from experience thus far, there is a 90% probability the rest of the readings will be lower.  What amazes me about fasting?  The way the hands will try to sneak food around the will.  Ever had a pet steal food?  How stealthy, how smooth, even right before your eyes, looking directly at you, into your eyes, and yet you don't see, believe, until your sandwich or whatnot is gone?  Right.  I really have to watch.  Sneaky bastage.

Well, tea, reading, music.  Then back to it when I am awakerish(tm).

Simply couldn't do more.

.
.
I will put the laundry in the dryer.  I won't fold what I take out of the dryer.  I will set it out for tomorrow "morning".  Blood sugar has stabilized.  Starting at 260, it dropped to 185, then just now 184.  I am curious what the next days will show.  Tomorrow I hope to only do three readings, morning, noon, and bedtime.  If I maintain the fast, the same deal the day after.  The goal is a three day fast.  May need aspirin.

I did kick some of it out.  Not perfect, not bad.  I am pushing my day back around, it's 15:00.  Partly cloudy, or mostly sunny?  Yes.  Still seems cool, if that won't last if the sun is returning.  Did I mention it was down to 34 F last night?  Either rather later or earlier, a bit before or after midnight.

I've got to switch the laundry, gulp aspirin, and hit it.  Good night.

Slow but advancing.

.
.
Laundry was put away or hung.  The load in the dryer required more time.  I hate when that happens.  Dishes were done and put up.  A good two plus loads are soaking.  Trash is mostly gathered, just need to check a few side trash containers.  Hunger has let up.  I may shave and shower shortly, since the washing machine isn't using the hot water.  Not sure how much more I can do.  That is truly a question, not a doubt or negative.

I am hoping to at least give the dishes a wash.  That might be enough or not.  If not they will simply be reset to soak.  I won't do more than put what was washing into the dryer, letting it run, and maybe fold what I take out of the dryer.  Bathroom?  I might clean while showering.  It isn't that much extra.  I think so.

I did call my mother.  Doubted she would answer, preferred she not.  Just wanted to wish her a happy Mother's Day.  Told her not to bother calling back.  I get it.  Seriously, no fuss or muss.  She gets very little time with her only known grandchildren.  I swear, that is truly the only reason, as it turns out, that parents have children.  Uhrm.  At least once they know not just how to dance, but why... the costs and results.

I'd better goof a bit, to rest, in order to dig back in.  Later.

Finally getting to it.

.
.
First the dishes.  They came clean so they are rinsing.  Then laundry was cycled, the load from the dryer is nearly done.  A few shirts to hang, the rest to be put up.  Recycling has been taken out.  Something was leaking so it got double bagged.  I'll do the dishes shortly, then some cleaning in the bathroom, perhaps get the trash collected and perhaps out as well.  Then I'll sit until the washer finishes, shower and shave, then put one more load through the wash.  More dishes?  I'll set another load or two soaking.  Not sure if I'll get to those today.

Fasting today at least.  It is difficult.  I guess that is why it is good for body and soul.  Blood sugar started at 260, dropped to 207, and checked a bit ago was 197.  Pretty poor showing.  I'll check one more time before bedtime, whenever that is, if I remember.  It is good to have a meter again, with strips that work.  Not sure if the V.A. was messing with me, or if they just blew it three times in a row.  They were trying to force me onto insulin.  To the point of trying to get my driver license stripped.  Didn't want me improving on my own, showing that my diabetes never dipped (the real risk for diabetics and driving), or generally using the device to learn.  I'll give them a chance again, after these run out, but I now have a reliable source if they screw around again.

It looks like the storm might be breaking.  We have had a lot of rain.  If they somehow fumble all this away?  That, too, can be fixed.  Keep goofing, leaving citizens flat while double dealing on local water, and there will be problems.  Flooding for the next decade might be in order.  Wash away the infrastructure used to pilfer while at it.  *grumbles*  Oh, it could happen.

I best get on to things.  It isn't all that much, and the engine has warmed.  Good morning and day.  Oh, get to church.  If you do, say a prayer for me?  Thanks.

Nothing else was done.

.
.
I went down hard, slept long.  I woke a few times.  Rolling and fussing, but in a good way.  My body fought for the sleep and comfort it needed, and got it.  Ten to twelve hours down.  I feel better for it.  Dreams.  A dream.  A pop answers it, if they keep using the secular cover art.  I know where and how to find my preferred art now.  Very strange that they do that.  One more struggle.  The thing is, how do things populate with my dreams and which side insists on the secular, or for me?  I don't trust any of the bastards, and women even less.

Ah, found at least part of the problem.

.
.
Warmth is required currently.  It has been raining and quite cold lately.  It was 38 F last I checked.  If it has changed I would wager, were I a betting man, that it would go colder. The thermostat, which I just reset, slipped to nearly off.  Had to think... right... requires the hold to be set or to be programmed.  Hold is now on, if it needs a bit to warm.  Ugh.

Hmm.   It was at 70, but that just wasn't enough.  Here's to 72.  I need warmth with the cold and aches.  Dishes are reset, dinner is going, laundry is getting a fluff, and I have been working on boxes.  After the next wash, a shave and shower.  I am sure I will clear the dishes soaking, and three loads of laundry, two already at some stage.  I am pretty sure about a shower and shave.  As well, I think trash and recycling will be collected and set to go.  More dishes and laundry?  Bathroom cleaning?  More boxes?

I'll get a good bit, even if none of the extras.  Any of that will just be grand plusses.  Not as good as l-'s, but it'll do.  Steak is almost ready.  Oh, blood sugar was 240 fasting, 301 several hours up without food, then 207 after peanuts and tea, and 234 several hours after all.  Hmm.  Whatever.  Bleh.

Steak!

What is it I see?

.
.
A maybe.  Such things.  Would rather be able to close my eyes and stop seeing.

Even when I despise the targets, I'd not wish this on them.

How, why?

.
.
It hurts almost everywhere.  Muscle groupings, forward thighs, calves, lower back, biceps triceps, others, and unnameable areas between.  I have no idea why.  Have I been so sedentary, along with the recent chill, that any work would get me?  Have I been doing just enough, for long enough, that along with the cold, again, I am susceptible to quick muscular exhaustion and ache?

So long as it is muscles I don't care.  Did I mention both sides of my lower rib cage, forward... sure reminds me of when I would do hundreds, pushing near a thousand setups.  Yes, you can.  But it would cost you.  A misery, currently, but one I definitely love.  Unless I am mistaken, this can only be good.  There are pains... ouch, my left thumb!?!... you must endure in faith and hope, then there is pain which offers great returns.  This, unless I am horribly mistaken, is the latter.  I have missed this sort of thing.  Now to add swimming to the menu.

It may simply be from working while my body isn't ready?  That might be much more taxing than simple calculations would indicate, especially for me.  Whatever the case, as with the pains of massages, my goal is to relax into the pain.  It's how I learned to do long ago.  That pain (and what brings it), and right breathing, brings all of strength and endurance.  -  Teh Management

I slept long.  Could not wake, except to pee.  Up around 18:30, so between eight and nine hours down.  Yes, I set the alarm.  Tried to work with it, failed.  So much for a nap, but I gave the notion a solid effort.  I will do more work today, if I won't push, or try to lag.  A nice medium pace as able.  More dishes, laundry, a shave and maybe a shower, and managing boxes and clutter.  It is good to work through mechanical pain.  It's the best way to untie the knots.

But first, to wake up.  Resting blood sugar was 240.

Later.

Cold. Raining.

.
.
I had to close shop, windows anyway.  It dropped into the 40's and that rain will sap the life from you.  I had to step into it.  No surprise this time if it is even colder.  Snow on the way?  Seriously?  Yeah.  I may turn the heat on, it is getting pretty chilly.

I keep thinking I hear Sassy meowing.  But no matter were I go, it is very far out of range, and as if she was in a container.  I've been hearing that for several days now.  In spite of my suspicions, I go and seek, futilely, anyway.  Indoors or out, it sounds the same.  Never do I seem to get closer.  Then it just stops.  It is why I am almost sure she is dead.  She isn't the first dead, even pet, to... contact me.  Though, maybe she...

A bite to eat, now on to bed.  Just a nap.  I'll set the alarm for three hours, if I hope, plan, to be up before that.  Sleep is going to be off and odd for numerous reasons.  I'll do what I can.  Burrrrr!  It really is cold.  And the rain froze even my frigid blood.

When I wake, back to it.  All indoor work for obvious reasons.  If it dries, I'll get out and process the wood.  And if the ground dries, I'll transplant the horseradish.  Life is good.  Later.

Awake, but early or late?

.
.
Either way, it is nearly 2:30.  I went to bed a bit before or after 21:00 or 21:30.  Oh, I looked, but have no recall.  I remember hearing it, being told, it was nearing one of those times.  I crashed pretty much immediately after.  As well, just as I was waking the harsh headache was just lifting, mostly.  I love when that happens.  No aspirin before bed, either.  Should have, can't always think through the pain.  May take some now.

Rested, mostly.  Some sort of internal termoil, been an issue for days.  I actually suspect that is probably a good thing.  Huh?  It feels like when I would kill it on setups, back when I could.  Muscles in the midsection getting used to the point of growth.  Guess what a lot of bending to plant, or pick up branches, or work on other things will do.  Right.  It will act functionally as a setup.  So all good.  Yeah, I was worried the first few days, until it "got worse" the next, and each subsequent, work day.  Why the quotes?  Because pain from effort or exercise is a good, in my book.  That is supposed to happen, and healing from or into it will lead to greater strength and maybe endurance.  If, in this case, it has odd extra effects, being in the midsection.

I am not sure it is a true fasting blood sugar read.  It is as close as can be had today.  It is 198.  Not a great improvement, just a bit, and still trending.  I'll take it.

A good start to a better day.  I can take my time waking, yet have a seriously solid opportunity at work.  Dishes, laundry, into the kitchen, into the living room, a shave, a shower, who knows.  I will dig in though, and probably tomorrow.  I want things done so I can properly take Sunday off.  If I can't get to church yet, perhaps the readings of the day and contemplation of those.  Perhaps I could find a recorded mass.

I found one of the rosaries, one of the blessed  ones.  But... I found it in one of the first, and tenth, and thirtieth places I looked... my bible sachel.  Yeah, I look in 'circles', coming back through.  Not that I thought it was in with the bible, I know where it was, with the Catholic book, Becoming Christ or such, which remains missing, as does my other blessed rosary.  At least I can begin saying the rosary again.  I can hear Satan lamenting my willful ways even now, and it is heaven to my ears.

Sassy remains missing.  At this time, presumed kia.  It didn't hit me, because I was avoiding thinking about it, when Sam started acting so forlorn.  Looking everywhere, including trying to find her kittens again.  I had almost believed that Sam didn't like Sas. She does, and is missing her terribly.  I... just think, this time, she is gone.  Recent events acted as omen or threat.  It's been a week?  Perhaps... hope is thin.  Having a cat yeowling and searching, and coming to me with that hollow look... at least I'm not the only one.

I best get to my day.  Later.

Hmm.  Mood music.

A long nap.

.
.
Close enough.  Waking was rough.  Back to branches.  A bush was trimmed well, a couple of trees were taken out... Too close to the garage, but not easily visible until shrubs were reduced.  The air compressor was also fixed, and works well.  The old part was obviously defective.  Still, I would like to see if it can be made to function.  If nothing else, I can take it in to locate parts to move the drain out from under the tank.

Then steak.  It is the way to go.  He did eat more if not quite all of it.  He doesn't eat the fat though.  I don't care, mostly.  Just a bit of food competition.

I have a serious headache from too little sleep.  Back to bed.  Good night, again.

Daily tally.

.
.
Or finals, actually.  The soaking dishes were finished, two loads were set to soak.  Done there for now.  Laundry... The load dried was finished, the drying load needed more time, the load in the wash will go into the dryer shortly.  More folding?  Maybe.  A shower was taken.  I am hoping to fold/hang laundry.  I have a lot of laundry left to do.  Oh, and I did sort several boxes in the living room.

Blood sugar at 9:00ish was 209.  It is now 229 (13:30).  I suppose blood sugars wobble?  No food eaten in there.

Good.  Not all I wanted.  Probably more than I should have expected.  Tired.  Might only get a nap?  Best just go down, after switching laundry loads.  Yeah.  Good day.

Why update?

.
.
It keeps me going.  I am falling asleep.  I want to do more.  This helps.

I reset dishes.  The water got cold.  I did change bedding, then took the old sheets and all to the laundry room, set a load drying, then set a load to wash but stopped it.  I want to shower first.  I am folding clothes, and will hang some shortly.  Not sure the living room will get work though.  Just too late already and moving too slow.

My mother called.  All good.  Just lost track of her phone.  As well, a cousin is staying at her place, so deliveries won't be a problem.  She is pleased as punch to watch her granddaughters grow up.  There is just something to that.  It's a parent's real hope.  It's the return on investment.  I won't call again while she is there.  Her time is short, busy, I'll let her alone to it.  It is pleasing to note the heartbreak in the joy.  The better aches of life.

I'd better shower, start the next load, finish dishes then soak another load, then handle dried laundry more.  Then to bed.  Good night, and day, in advance.

Bits and parts.

.
.
I am not moving at a solid pace.  A part here, some there, moving along.  I am not sure if I'll put a second load of laundry through.  If I do, it might end up just to the dryer.  I'll fold one load shortly, deciding at that point.  A load of dishes has been washed, is rinsing.  The dry stuff has been put away.  Supper has been eaten.  Blood sugar is 209.  A really small meal hike (compared to my recent reading sets).

I have windows open.  A perfect day to clear the place.  I will change the sheets before heading back to the washroom, which leads to another task, a shower.  Fresh sheets deserve that extra step.  Well, then I'll need to stay awake in order to fully dry off.  I best get to things or I'll just crash.

Again, later or good night, and day.

So late, yet...

.
.
I am digging in.  Laundry is going.  Two loads, plus one in the dryer, will be done.  The grill is going for another meal.  A load of dishes are set, some need put up, and I'd like to push two more loads through.  As well, I plan to do some work in the living room.  Really?  It's the plan.  Sometimes yes, sometimes no.  We'll see.

I forgot my mother was travelling this week.  Sent her Mother's Day stuff.  Ugh.  I am sure she has a neighbor or friend who could check on things.  Still.  Oh well.  She tried to call me yesterday.  I just got the message today?  Anyway, her call had showed as it should have I wouldn't have placed the order.  I tried to call this morning, the line went to voice-mail.  Either they are having breakfast or she is sleeping in.  Travel gets rough every year on.

Raining, and yet warm... warmer, at 48-52 F.  I think.  Strange and stranger.  Oh, but that rain will chill to the bone.  I, in my temporary morning naivety, tested it, thinking warm air would mean warm rain.  Not even close.  Now I know.  We aren't getting so much rain that I regret watering.  Just a light sprinkle, I think.  Enough to wash the dust away, for a bit?  Very strange world lately.  Even so, I am going with cooler sheets.  Flannels served their purpose but that is over.

Later, if my plans succeed.  Good night if not.

Stranger blood readings.

.
.
With the low fasting blood sugar, I expected a much lower premeal reading.  For the first time that I hane seen I got the opposite.  It went from 200 to 242 for no reason.  The rise from the meal was very slight, going to 274, eating a half inch steak, half a can of asparagus with butter, and about two quarts of milk.  I was still hungry, so a few hours later I ate nearly an eight ounce container of unshelled peanuts.  An hour after, I checked blood again.  I expected it to have jumped, perhaps a lot.  185? What?

Nothing is making sense with blood sugar tonight.  Sure, the meter could be off.  Though I suspect other things.  Beside all anatomy working in odd ways, potential odd readings, and other things, sometimes you can't be certain.  I actually do trust the meter and readings.  It is merely that the body is a strange animal.

Whatever.  Still hungry.  I will have to eat again before long.  Later.

Ta-da?

.
.
No, not really.  A healthy long sleep, dreams, the arrival of toys and the compressor part, and a good wake.  There are those things.  Fasting blood sugar also sets a new low at 200 (I think?).  Day by day, if I have to push things when I can, it really is improving.  I'll hold off food for several hours, it usually drops a lot when I do so.  Hunger is reducing, and yet I am not quite to fasting yet, or multiple day fasting.  I am nearly at single day fasting, or... close.  If I go strictly carnivorous for a bit, I think I can.  Which I might well do.

With the water set, I will hit the garden area first.  I am going to use a sprinkler that is questionable.  I am hoping to tinker it into function, within preferred tolerances.  If not, I have another one.  If that doesn't work I have two more options.  Being broken, so I can't always work, I have time to think.  First, however, some transplanting... j. artichokes and horse radish plants.

Dishes, bedding, and laundry, after outside.  Ugh.  Got to get to it!  I'll do the transplants first, or check the lawn sprinklers for aim setting, first.  Depending on how fast the light is fading.  These I will do before my customary wake time.  Light is going fast.  Later.
---------
What isn't lined up is going.  I didn't transplant everything, there were so many j. artichokes they wore me out.  So many I decided to keep five in the planters, if I moved those plants to the centers of the planters.  The first sprinkler just didn't do it.  The second one might, if it means moving it frequently.  Of all the options, that seems best, so I will stick with it for now.

NOW I can rest.  Wake up.  Enjoy my tea.  If I need to cool down as well.  Hmm, might light the grill.  And pull pork out, ribs or roast though?  Wait, I suggested steak for tomorrow, though I can cook both.  Anyway...  I'll check blood sugar before eating, probably.

Bedtime.

.
.
I set up the sprinklers and hoses.  Clouds were, perhaps still are, preventing the sun from shining through, if just on the eastern horizon.  I didn't trust them to hold, so skipped watering the one area that might have worked.  I am hoping to get a few things planted from planters into the soil, then water the eastern patch when I wake.  The lawn won't be started until much later.

Some asparagus is up.  Only, say, a fifth of what was planted?  I need to water that much more.  The rhubarb is doing gangbusters, if I did need to trim the seed pods.  Not much from the jerusalem artichoke I planted, but many are coming up in the planters.  I had though those all dead.  Even the trees are doing much better with much of the dead out.  Oh, and birds have definitely found all the food I put out.  I'll add one more spot and refill occasionally.  Don't want to kill them with kindness.

Just one meal.  Resting blood sugar was 199,after it was 251 and stayed that high until just recently.  Finally dropping to 199.  I had a large glass (quart) of milk an hour after supper.  That was probably it.  A liquid dinner you can bank on?  If I have to go fluid, milk is my preference.  Still, I'm only claiming one meal.  I may have a batch of pistachios before sleeping though.  Hungry, but don't want to mess it up too much.

I need to get to work in here too.  Ugh.  Just have to get some things going.  Not the more this morn.  Good night.

Tuesday, May 8, 2018

Okay. I think so.

.
.
Several things are making more sense.

Blood sugar is trending lower.  Fasting was down to 219 again, then is down to 199 after a few hours up and some work.  The readings may not be perfect but they are solid improvements.  Having a 160 range reading is very good.  Without fasting, multi day fasting anyway, and without "medicine".  The real problem?  I am too well to sleep for weeks, mostly without eating... if that is still a preferred problem.  I used to starve clean of diabetes.  Now it's just a bit more work.

Steak, potato, peas, and tea, for my first meal.  I need to pull pork out, another boneless butt.  I can't eat beef steaks everyday, and pork isn't bad either.  I just wanted to see how it would do.  Roasted anything is rather tasty.

More work tonight.  Mowing, some weedwhipping, the patio cleared and cleaned, and a bit more.  Plus I know which days to expect him.  Two days a week.  Regular schedule.  That helps.  I have the next work day charted, among the chores, cleaning gutters and putting in ac.  I meant to water but the day escaped me.  I'll set things up before going to bed tonight/this morning and hit it tomorrow.

I like to work.  Help, well, helps!  I have other things I need to get on, both for helper projects, plus solo efforts, business, and such.  Can, I keep up, push myself, guide?  It is the goal.  Hopefully he will get small experience, plus some money, and man food.  Flooring and some drain and water works in the en suite, roof painting, eventually gutters, and fiddly mockups getting ac's boarded and insulated in windows.  Plus, it is hoped, he will keep me going to clear the way for projects.  I don't think it will kill me, if I won't always be able to help?  If I can make sure something(s) are available to do, I'm good.  Not much, but say, 16 to 32 hours a month?  Food and toys covering some?  Something in that range, plus or minus, give and take.  Of course that means as much as double or triple the hours worked for me?  I hope.

Later.

Strange blood readings.

.
.
I decided to test before snacking.  It had dropped to 161.  That is the lowest reading since I started testing again.  Any reservations about a snack, and steak later, vanished.  It is later.  I tested blood before this as well, not bad at 217.  I won't be awake to check it by the time it settles, in a couple hours.  Definitely not by the time it falls again.

An half inch ribeye takes about five minutes on each side, on a solid charcoal grill.  I was dubious about half inchers.  The difference between what you get in all but very high end restaurants and fresh from the butcher is beyond simple description.  If high end steak houses offered these, they would be similar... if you can cook them right.  I got lucky?  If so, I've been lucky with all my steaks since visiting the butcher.  I really need to order a hog, pay up front, then I'll be sure.  I miss fresh chops... pig ribeyes.  I'd sure like to figure how to butcher my own.  Some bits are simply not available from the butcher... Uncle Sam says so.  It's... just a bit much for me to do.

I let Sassy out yesterday.  She hasn't been seen since.  I have been looking, calling, often.  This isn't the first time she has strayed.  Even so it does worry me.  I'll just keep at it, and be grateful when she returns, adding her to my prayers until then.  Silly bird.  I suppose, when she finally pulls enough bravery to go, sometimes she really goes all out, all the way?  Little prayers.  Even the feathers of a bird...

Good night, and day for you daybirds.

Another day.

.
.
Dinner.  All that has been done so far.  I remembered to take blood sugar before eating. At 191 I was satisfied.  Several hours after eating, my feelings are almost hurt, the reading is 250.  I'd like it to drop before snacking.  So hungry.  Popcorn, I have decided.  I am curious to see how the blood sugar does with that.

I am feeling better if still tired.  Everything is on the edge of being good enough to work.  Just not quite.  I am sure the ac is helping.  Food, as a general rule, is a plus.  Though I may have to damn the blood sugar torpedoes, and go full speed ahead.  I need to fix this hunger.  May only be one way through.  Steak is about the perfect food for that, with some limited adds, but the right ones.  Rather than huge meals, though, just several medium to small meals or snacks.  If the popcorn doesn't do it, yep.  Another steak, a thin one, but just the steak.

I'll see about other chores.  It just isn't happening, if it is getting so close.

Later.

Better, mostly.

.
.
Ac while sleeping, longer this time.  Having a timer on it really helps.  I had it set to run until an hour or three before planned waking.  As bad as I was yesterday, when going to bed, I wasn't sure how long I would sleep.  A normal sleep was all that was needed.  I am feeling better and rested.  Much better.  Fasting blood sugar is 231.  I ate only that one big meal, so, yeah, don't do that anymore.

Dreams.  Both, in different ways, severe.  And a bit personal for even me to share.  Both with elements of reality.  One was hella funny, if you could understand it correctly, which you can't, so you are welcome.  If both had cold elements too.  Harsh.  I'd love to share them, but in this rare they would be pearls before... well... you.  No, I don trust you, Lucy.

Today?  Hungry again, if containable.  I tried one of the inch and an half steaks yesterday.  I could only eat two thirds of it.  I'll grill the rest again to heat it, in an hour or two.  Peaches, cottage cheese, and tea will finish it.  I'd like to have a snack/lite second meal later.  Popcorn, pistachios, peanuts, or sunflower seeds, just one though.  I'll back off volume and some things for a bit.  Milk isn't bad, but moderation is good.  Same with potatoes, if I am amazed to see neither of those seriously spike my blood sugar.  Though perhaps that builds over days of repetition?  Learning still.

I definitely need a shower, new sheets but not flannel, and laundry.  And dishes.  I did get the trash out.  Only one bag, but after cleaning the barrel I have a little of my butt, past and future, vested in keeping it clean.  Odd how that works.  I don't want to have to clean it again, for as long out as possible.  Not a lot of work, but work and dirty work.  Plus I like having no stank from it.  It's a very good thing.  I must admit, I didn't think it was going to be that easy.

I keep looking for the compressor part.  It keeps not being there.  As snarly as the woman was, I wonder if she didn't put the wrong address in, just because.  Nasty woman, offended to be speaking to... anyone.  Solid union worker, no fear of job security.  All employees need to fear, or you get foreign workers, who do fear, doing the work, over there or over here.

Later.

Something is off

.
.
It didn't get below 70 last night, in my house.  Rather strange.  While not hot, it was warm for the night.  As well, I was hungry.  I ate a usual snack worth of pistachios and peanuts, then had a steak plus trimmings.  All normal, usually I eat more, if spread through the day.  My blood sugar shot to 360.  Then finally came down, if only to 273.  Okay, volume in short spans is a major problem for my blood sugar.  But I was so hungry.

I am feeling bad.  I need to get things going, but it doesn't work very well.  I am stuck.  I'll keep at it.  Just not this day.  Good night and day.

Sunday, May 6, 2018

Good all around.

.
.
Hmm?  Sleep was really good.  I used the ac for several hours, which offered enough cool for me to sleep very well, and longer, through the warning day.  That may help switch days and nights back.  I may not be able to win, but I can still fight.  In doing so, I was able to stay down until 17:30, if I am not sure when I went down... perhaps a bit after dawn?  Needed the sleep, sleep has been pinched and shy in the day heat.  One disaster to another?  That is what it is to be on a sinking ship, in stormy seas, unable to get all hands on deck.

Oh, the final right news?  Resting blood sugar is 217.  That is superior.  That is far better, down over a hundred points since I started.  What is the difference?  Grazing.  An easy to fall into, nearly constant, consumption... eating... trap.  I am not doing that now.  I want the lower numbers.  So I will forego small constant for larger rare meals or snacks.  I sometimes simply skip eating.  Heading back more toward fasting, that just takes more focus than I can quite muster yet.

Back to the list.  Nothing checked off, yet.  I think today is the start.  Later.

Worn.

.
.
For no good reason.  The darker day collided with the warmth?  After draining excess fluid from my body, perhaps recovering?  Able to focus well again, not for long yet.  Simple efforts shut me down pretty quickly.  Although I am hoping to do a bit more work tonight.  Moving the sprinklers out of the way for mowing, tackling some of the dishes, a shower and shave.  That is it.

Blood sugar got down to 194.  I had a handful of craisins before, might have jiggered it higher.  Is five minutes enough?  Still, I am calling it a success.  And trying to remember better snacks... pistachios, sunflower seeds, and such.  It just caught my eye.  Yum.  I am thinking of another meal.  Meat, with green beans and tea.  Grilled.  Love that egggrill-smoker.

Someone(s) took a serious spin through a bunch of content, but nearly invisibly to me.  I have my ways.  One(s) got an A+, another(s) seemed to offer warnings (though using what I put up as warnings to warn me is rather... lame).  Had to chuckle, and nod.  Sure, but that is what I told you!  No worries, I'll take my own medicine, already do, man.

See what I did there?

Into a new day.

.
.
I woke... a while, several hours, ago.  Fasting blood sugar was 230.  I was hungry, so took it right away, so as to get started with food.  As I was eating, I realized someone was here.  He was here earlier, removed branches.  Just visiting this time.  I finished my meal outdoors and talked.  Then started talking about getting the water going for the lawn.  Why not now?  Well, I had a thousand answers to that question, but, I'm the boss.  Wait...

Anyway, the grass is being watered.  It ended up being a serious chore.  There is a patch which is burning.  Really needed water.  On the good side, between planting new seed, watering better, and mowing, the side and parts of the front yard are filling in very nicely.  I am hoping to water the front enough to manage the dry spot, if that means evening watering.  All good.

I think things are going well.  The extra work will help or kill me.  Working too soon after waking has given me a serious headache.  That and sleeping during the day, as days warm, didn't help.  Still, very good to have the sprinklers up and going.  If I can keep it all going, and green, and expanding, I will be pleased.  I may even get out and mow.  It's a trade for use deal.  Even so, I wouldn't mind doing my own sometimes.

Two bills to pay soon, three.  Then to start up a savings account.  Then to begin scheduling projects, getting bids, checking diy costs while figuring sizes and all.  Bathroom flooring area, roof square footage for a coating, and such.  Could get much done this next year, with the padawan learner.  I'd like to split costs between savings, credit, and spending cash, basing projects on the savings... keeping it above a certain amount.  Pacing.

I am not sure how long it has been since breakfast, some hours.  Blood sugar is 243.  Not bad.  I'd like to find my way to sub-200's, but that will take multiday fasting.

Later.

Friday, May 4, 2018

Seems to be hot.

.
.
It isn't.  I thought it was partly cloudy.  An actual visual dispelled the notion, if there might be a haze?  The temp is only in the mid 60's.  My body is quite warm though.  Part of it is working through too much fluid buildup.  I lost track of meds and have been a seriously thirsty devil for the last four or five days.  Not corelated, timing isn't right.  Probably.  I'm... back to it.

Fasting blood sugar read 271.  I shouldn't have had the second meal, or all of it.  The steak would have been fine, probably.  It was the potato and possibly the asparagus which carbed it up?  Then again, that is my lowest fasting draw.  So, while not great, trending down.  Today will be a meat day, and some milk.

An odd day.

.
.
The barrels were sprayed and brushed out.  That is as good as they will get.  The recycling bin is very good, the trash bin... at least it doesn't stink.  Some things simply won't come out.  I would lay odds the trash barrel was here before the previous owners. It works, it doesn't stink, the outside is presentable, I'll use it as long as I or it remain as is.

A bit of axe tossing too.  I have a log which was rolled into use as a target.  I found throwing knives too.  I think I have more axes somewhere.  It actually wears me out, if not just me.  The neighbor's #3 son also wore out.  He helped with barrels and did some mowing earlier, for a widow?  Then joined in tossing.

Well, and a late dinner.  Steaks, potatoes, peas, and milk.  I later had the last half of peaches with cottage cheese.  Not bad, though I would like the steaks warmer next time.  I had that (1/2" steaks) plus a quart and an half of milk.  I didn't take a blood sugar before dinner.  I did about three hours later.  I was pretty sure, with potato peaches and milk, it was going to be stratospheric.  Sure enough, 207.  Well, actually, that is my second lowest reading since I began testing again.  Hmm?  Crazy!  The lowest meal rise was about 50, though with only two meals to go by, so not a certainty.  Either way, that is an excellent sign.  I am definitely trending lower, and quickly, as I use my new toy and delve into things.  Now to continue that and get bp down.

I guess raw milk doesn't have the kick of store bought.  I have always suspected they added sugar.  Whether to the milk directly, or in the feed?  It isn't lactose, it is sugar, in processed milk.  The peaches, it seems, are also perfectly acceptable.  And that potato didn't gank the sugars?  They have lying about potatoes all this time?  I mean a potato I couldn't enclose in MY fist, I palm half gallon canning jars full of tea, for drinking!  So, later, I had a second steak, and potato.  I'll do a reading in a bit.  The suffering I endure for science!

Yeah, but I am barely dragging myself through.  Responses which are backlogged will be answered by the first available representative.  Later, or good night.

An odd morning.

.
.
Sleep was good.  No need for the fan, temperature wise.  I dreamed, the stories escaped my grasp even before I woke.  A lover, a particular woman who was becoming my everything yet who is scarcely remembered now, was back in my arms, fully remembered.  I just don't remember more.  Gosh I've really liked some women.

I checked the clock just a bit ago. It read 9:30.  I went to bed a bit after 5:30... stayed up to call my mom, being an early riser and with the time shift that is the perfect time to call her.  Anyway, I was feeling well enough to wake.  While I was moving slowly... now that I am up, the clock out here reads 14:10?  Was I that slow or did I sleep through a bit without realizing?  Uhrm, I'll check the alarm clock, see if it is off.  Nope, it reads the same.  Wow.  That wasn't just a second sleep wind, that was a kamikaze second wind (means divine wind, dates to the Mongol hordes(?), and storms which caused two invasion fleets to fail).

Anyway.  I am awake now.  It's cold and dark.  A good day for a murder, a friend used to suggest.  A friend who I wonder more since, if he wouldn't know.  Still, I've never thought of these days as murder days.  These days, as I see it, are for tragic news and funerals for beloved folk.  Still, life is good.  I know the sun will return soon.

Today?  Same list as before.  I did nothing suggested, replacing those chores with shopping duties.  Fair enough.  Being cool and dark, what I did is what was possible.  Hopefully I can do much of the list today.  Pieces and parts, between breaks.  Another shower if I get to most of it.

Mood Music

.
.
They sometimes get to me.

Steak and more.

.
.
The reason to push was to pick up the steaks.  With an already late start, I really had to push.  I didn't damage my face shaving, if the push wasn't a true rush, so I took more time and care.  And I used the trimmer first.  I may shave tomorrow, then try every few days?  Theory, but possible.

I have been brushing my teeth, showering, and attempting to, and in the main succeeding at, keeping up.  With ups and downs, life in the balance has improved quite a measure, bit by bit, in the last few years.  I still suffer, fail, but I do more, better, regularly.  Add in cat litter, much more regular feeding, daily habits, efforts toward a neater house, life, mind, and soul.  It really is the little things.

Up and at it.

.
.
Down after 6:00, up after 14:00.  How much either way?  As much as an hour or two in the morning, an half an hour in the afternoon.  I got up, showered, and shaved first thing.  I was surprised how clean I still was.  That... it's weird.  Yes, you can tell.  Blood sugar first thing.  Not so good.  Still hungry last night, salsa.  At least I know why.  I should just finish the salsa of and be done with it.

Too late for calls, but I can work.  Perhaps pulling the barrels in, getting those going.  Dishes and else on my list.  It is dark again.  While the sun was out yesterday it did not get ver warm.  Later at night it got down to freezing, if not enough for  a frost.  Bedding, sticking with flannel for now.  Have new sheet sets on the way.  Standard cotton, better for warmer weather.  I have some I mean to try for hot weather.

I suppose.  Later.

Blood sugar and dinner.

.
.
I kept from snacking, and ate later, more like a late lunch.  When I tested blood sugar right before eating, it was 226.  Quite a drop from the fasting 331(or so).  In the hour after, it rose to 271.  While that is more of a jump than I'd like, it is a lot less than yesterday.  I plan on two or three more tests, an hour apart for the (or first) two.  If I do another, it will be two hours after the last of the set.  I would like to see if, and when, it returns to close to it's starting reading.

Initially I will just test to understand what I am looking at for the best reading times, to get an idea what my body does, how it works.  Then I will begin basing consumption off that.  Most likely, daily fasting, with all consumption in a six hour window, is superior, as a daily driver for typical consumption.  Weekly to every other week, fasting three days or more if biweekly, will most likely accelerate attainment of goals.  Which long fast works best remains to be seen.

What was for dinner?  Two chicken drumsticks and a thigh, a two ounce container of pistachios in the shells, and tea without additives.  I will be trying various food mixes, including "bad", neutral, and "good", in various doses, if mostly sticking with gooder(tm).  And, as I begin swimming, I'll begin checking that.  As with tobacco, it took three or four times to quit.  I have fixed my diabetes two or three times before, will do so again... if it is still possible.  Don't doubt me, youngling... yes you... I do as I do.  Funny, I think you are starting to see.  Pretty good for one without faith.

Not much today.  I did arrange appointments at the V.A.  New glasses, bifocals this time.  A dental cleaning, perhaps seeing a dentist that day or to be arranged if needed, then primary to see about getting medicine, or some of it, through them... not a change, I'll keep my own doc.  All good.  I have to admit, this was a bit nerve-racking for me.  The latter anyway.  Done.  Now getting on to other things might be easier.  Ah, forgot to pick up steaks today.  With the chill, I was thinking it was Monday.

Oh, but I may have found a shooting partner, maybe two.  Having to sight in a sweet rifle, with solid irons and an exceptional scope draws interest.  Not too soon, but soon enough.  A spotter or two, and switching between shooters.  Yeah.  They know nothing and I am thirty years behind.  All good, it starts or restarts as and when it does.  I've been needing to get out.  Sure miss Kord.  Not just for shooting.  He was a good cuss, though getting me to the range... he had a talent for it.

Later.
 ------------
After two hours, no need for further readings.  My blood sugar is down to 233, basically back to the start.  I think that is both a good sign that my diabetes can be controlled and a nod to good food.  Uhm, of course, now I can have my second and last meal for the day.  I believe three small beef ribs, corn, a portion of no sugar added peaches, and tea.  I will take another reading three hours after I finish, or danish.  :p
 ------------
Close.  After three hours, blood sugar is at 256.  Not bad.  I suspect the corn, lightly, but the peaches mostly.  For a second, needed by hunger, meal, given what was eaten, I am satisfied.  I think I'll need to cut veggies and fruits a bit, if they aren't all that usual as is.  I can't wait to see if ribeye's can deliver.  If that works, I'll add it as a third of my meals, varying between the sizes.  I am, however, still hungry.  Thank you Oreos.  Reallly, carbing up can cause raging hunger for days, weeks.  The worse the carbs, larger the volume, the worse and longer the desire... if, oddly, it is usually a hunger for meat.  Weird?

On to bed, or very shortly.  Still resisting the dark post.  I weaken, soon.

The sun shines.

.
.
A temporary need.  Without the sun being visible, and warming, I can barely remain awake.  I had turned the furnace lower, then forgot to change that when the cold arrived.  That did me in.  As I mentioned, I have an affinity for the cold.  An unlikely tolerance.  But that tolerance wanes through the winter.  As spring begins teasing with warmth I actually, then, become terribly susceptible to both the cold and dark.  Today is sunny!  I'll have to find something to do out there.

Yesterday morning, before food but after 'liquid splenda' tea, I checked my blood sugar.  With Oreos still being eaten (I am out, done with treats as of later yesterday), the reading was... good.  At 174, for me, with foods lately, very good.  Anyway, that was pre-meal.  I then consumed a third of a pound of roast pork, plus an half cup of salsa and a quart of milk. It took an hour to reach near the top, at 298.  At two hours it was 300.  I didn't measure after that.  Next time I will measure at one, two, and three hours.

I suspect the salsa and milk, mostly.  My current goal is to check fasting several times a day, then one pre and several post meal checks.  Once I have the timing down, then I will begin checking specific foods.  Now that I have a civvy device I can reliably replenish, I can begin ripping and tearing into understanding.  I am not looking for how to ride the line, but how to escape it.  Fasting does work, but only for lower work days.  Low carb, moderate protein, and high fat is good but slow on it's own... if even then, some of it works, some not so much.  The tester will help me see much better.  Fasting this morning, 335.  Thank you Oreos.  I am back to working on it.

A few calls today.  Maybe.  Dental, eyes, and an appoinment.  I... may cancel an appoinment as well.  Ugh.  Oh, some bills, if I'd like to wait to the third, so they don't try to say it was paid last month, they are either becoming terribly corrupted or incompetent, if I suspect the former, especially hiring almost exclusively white-hating minorities.  I am hoping not for locals businesses, but I think they are are all becoming foreign call center services, even here in the states.  And, if you notice and express it, they target you.  If I can get to the calls, I will.  Just woke, not up to talking quite yet, not about business.

Dishes, bedding, laundry, and a few more branches, well, one most likely.  A shower too.  On the list anyway, plus the calls if possible.  Later.

Such a short sleep.

.
.
Down at 5:00 or 6:00?  Somewhere a half an hour to either side, if I think later.  I went in like a crash but sleep was gentle.  The rain, cool, and ease of mind about the barrels.  I know how to soak them, not sure what to use to clean them.  The recycling container simply needs rinsed, mostly.  The trash can needs some serious work.  Perhaps the toilet brush?  Maybe the head of an old shop broom?  I'll figure it out.  I'll let it soak to allow the bleach to work, and neutralize through function, probably several times?  I've never done this before.  Figuring out home life, coming at it as a suitcase life guy, means a lot of figuring, it is a slow process but I am getting there.

Yes, not much sleep.  I woke around 13:00, 14:00, perhaps noon thirty?  On the earlier side I believe.  I haven't gotten to anything yet.  Still raining off and on, cold.  I'll get the barrels in later, might begin a soak, but nothing else with those today.  Dishes, bedding, laundry?  Too late for calls as I begin stirring today.  Ugh.  Lunch and more waking first.  Later.

Yeah? Some.

.
.
I just couldn't keep at it.  I eventually did the dishes that were set.  Washing, rinsing, now set to dry.  Then I remembered trash and recycling!  If I wanted that gone I knew I would have to get going fast.  I wasn't sure how much needed done, but the last time was a heavy business, so I prepared to dig in.

It ended being a light effort.  A few smaller bags which didn't fill a larger bag, but enough to take out.  Recycling was one bag as well.  With what else was out, even if I didn't want the bins empty so as to clean, they were needing set out.  I am almost sure I am on time.

Raining?  Snowing? It is right on the edge.  This late and the heart skips a beat to see how close it is to snow.  It has been a dark day.  Between the return to cool, the darkness, and the front coming through, I suspect that is why so little was done.  Couldn't focus, remember, though I knew there was something.  I got it.

Such a strange and immediate response.

.
.
I won't say it is right or wrong.  There is... it provokes consideration.  More from the sister side of things.  I suspect if my darker views are released even more so.  Sometimes I see more and better from that direction, and they know it easily, which cements the bond, even when I must reject my heart for my head.  Oddly, women understand that best, if they aren't as able to do it.

I lost the toss.

.
.
A nap was taken before work.  To be honest, I think oreos had their revenge.  I dreamed a pretty rough dream, visiting Veteran warehouses.  Terrible.  Overmedicated just to extend life while sapping will.  Debt dollar machines, much akin to people within the Matrix, only nowhere as clean or efficient.  I tried to get some of them to leave... too comfortable.  Asked if even my life hurt, I said of course.  They didn't want any more pain.  I argued that without pain there was no pleasure.  Deaf ears.  Such a horrible dream.

For those who wish that way, but that it not be institutional, Utah has a program where families take them in, and manage care.  At first blush I was rather put off.  On second thought, that has to be better?  Probably.  In either case, they strip the vet of all but $50 a month.  As medicated as they often are, it Wouldn't surprise me if many die with enough for burial.

When I woke, I woke hungry.  Three ribs, heated, were golden.  I have set the dishes to  a fresh soak.  After dinner settles, I'll hit the first batches, do a load or two of trash, then take a break.  Rinse and repeat until done, possibly throwing a shower, shave, bedding change, and laundry in.  I am sure hoping.

Well, and women remain on my mind, in my ways.  The music has been in place for a bit.  Odd how sexual, and yet not, dames are... at least to me.  I would lay odds it is the same for them, in their own ways.  What a terrible, wicked, wonderful life.  I'll... be forced to present if the haunting continues.  Sometimes it's the only way to be rid of it.  Just ask Zeus about Athena innit.

Later.

Awake a bit late.

.
.
Actually, that depends on whether compared to yesterday, the week of morning waking times before it, or if going by when I slept.  In those cases, in order, I would be late as stipulated, very early, or just on time given an eight hour preferred sleep cycle.  All three are true.  People sometimes think I am confused.  Confusing?  Yes, but because I am aware.  It is trying to explain things to people, even when I do it well, that causes problems.  Most people can't focus to hear, or lack simple linguistic or interpretive skills.

Sleep was good, if three hours of ac was required, and the fan all night.  It was 70 F, and not cooling.  Surprisingly that doesn't seem way to warm, just a little to warm to easily fall and stay asleep.  It means warming has been at a measured pace this spring.  I let the girls sleep with me and they were mostly good.

Fasting blood sugars were a bit high.  But... Oreos yesterday.  I know, but... sometimes!  I will have a few more, the rest will be for the neighbor youngens.  Probably.  I only buy one treat item every second or third shopping outing.  In any case, for normal meals I will begin taking before and two after readings (either hour and two hour, or half those, initially, until I figure out what is best).  I'll get back at it, and to fasting and the rest.

I didn't get to anything yesterday evening.  Not surprising as late as the nap ended.  Today I will get the trash and recycling, and as many dishes as possible.  I may need a nap, hopefully not until after much of those things are done.  Then a shower and shave, and perhaps work in the front room or living room, both?

I hope.  If I can stand.  In a bit.  Later.

If you are going to do it, do it right.

.
.
What goes for work and play applies just as well for naps.  It seemed late, but then midnight to 1:00 is still bedtime, so it was a good time.  I went in hard, after settling in.  Then woke roughly.  I was in there for three, only slept two, battling an half hour on either side.  The battle to wake being the toughest.  While a fight both ways, it was worth it.

The other day, when out, I also shopped.  I got everything but what I truly intended.  Paper plates, large and medium, and butter is what I really needed.  I didn't get much.  The one thing I got that I have really been wanting was beef.  I went with meaty ribs.  If I need beef, not even steak will scratch the itch like bone in ribs, grilled just so.  Yeah, I have chicken and pork, grilled right, I just haven't had beef in a long bit.  It is too expensive.  Still is, it was a splurge.  I'll heat a few on the grill later.  I cool, then plastic wrap in portion sizes, same with chicken.  Roasts I wrap whole, slice through, then wrap over the ends.

Else tonight?  I am hoping to begin dishes and trash and recycling collection.  This coming week, assuming I get it all out, the other goal is to clean the barrel(s).  Bleach, brush, rinse, repeat as necessary.  And, with the double bagging process I have implemented, there is hope they will stay sweet(er, longer).  Garbage is refuse is smelly. Still, this, well, could use a little intervention.  Hmm, and keeping the new plants watered.  Every other day for the first week, after watering for the first two days. Which means  a drink tomorrow.  Then twice a week?  I really want asparagus.  As I see sprouts, I'll fill those back in.  As is, they are only lightly buried, as per instructions.  Two years, maybe three, before they crop.

What else this week?  One more load of branches to be removed, in the field.  Cleaning my room, the bathroom, and the kitchen, getting back on meds better, and then just keeping up on else.  Oh, and cleaning and clearing the refrigerator.  All of it?  You know, maybe.  I'll sure give it a shot.  I also plan, maybe, another option which has been on my mind.  All work and no prayer makes Jack's raging... if play is good too, if play is covered.

Later.

Oh, day schedule flip?

.
.
How, why?  I did notice I started going to bed earlier.  Noted that at least once.  What I didn't mention was that I wasn't waking earlier.  I went to bed even earlier last night, for at least the third night running.  This morning I woke at 5:30ish, between five and six hours earlier, and very shy on sleep.  If I could have stayed in bed, I would have.  The bed hurts when I can't sleep.  I don't mind the change, I was, am, just a bit nervous about sleep deprivation.  It's been a while and I'd rather not go back to it.  I almost can never flip my schedule like this.  I have some thought that it might be the start of major flips, though oh well if so.

The weather has warmed, 70 plus F days.  Sun, and it is making it down to us.  Not a bad thing.  I think that is the main culprit, in the good sense.  Now if it would slowly rise to full summer temps over the next month.  I think I could handle that much easier.  I'll get what arrives, try to make do.  I may need a nap shortly.

My back is finally hurting.  But why now, days after the rest of my body is clear of pain?  There is the tightness elsewhere, but not sore muscles.  I may hit aspirin as I go in for a nap.  Leg joints are still a bit creaky, mildly pained.  Getting old and sitting too often and too long, then trying to work, I suppose?  -  Oh, I was lifting my feet during the pedicure, and shouldn't have been, that's what happened.

Yeah, just thought a bit of potential good news would be a change.  Later.

Rough, tumble, low.

.
.
Life.  A difficult thing often enough.  Toss in being over one's head, suffering seriously physically, while having abandonment issues exasperated, and there I go.

I have too much to do and currently no good way to do it.  The house, the fridge, new and old business, projects, probably more.  It wasn't work that brought me down.  I was down physically.  Working through it was most likely a good thing.  If nothing else it offered real, or causal, pain to balance the system failure based suffering.  I need to get back on medicine for one thing, if I am not sure that helps anymore.  Did it ever?  Can it.  I'll... give it a go again.

My body feels bad.  Ever worn a compression sock, bandage, brace for what seems like too long?  Imagine a whole-body compression device, worn way too long.  Or being gassy, but having that sensation everywhere from torso to shoulder joints to calves.  No bloat or water retention, so there doesn't seem to be a simple actual physical cause.  I haven't been complaining, through the weeks, more maybe, as that doesn't help.  A grumpy body, lack of focus, exhaustion.  Warm sunny days would, might, help, if I truly fear blisteringly, blindingly, hot days.

After my masseuse left for unknown reasons, my pedicurist is leaving.  At least I know why with her.  And I got to say goodbye.  Just someone, but when you have few you deal with pretty much at all, each has an... extended value.  And then on top of the rest. The inverse of the cherry on top.  Such a mood.
-----------
A dream, though.  Pinocchio.  Again?  I am almost sure this isn't the first time.  If this is a vastly different take.

I was Pinocchio.  Of a different sort.  Of flesh, but not what I thought.  I knew the one who crafted me, but knew him to be false... a corrupter and deceiver.  I went seeking whatever it would take to set things right, to understand, to know the truth.  Most of my kind refuse the truth for the vanity of their corruption.  I... just couldn't stop digging at, doubting, even hating, my corruption.  Still tied to it, but not enamored of it as most of my kind... the mirror just never was my thing, less the deceptive mirror.

The search began for the one who imbued what I then, originally, thought was my maker/father, with his will.  Or further, to the first or great Maker.  Most of my kind, in many ways, can't and won't see that far around, let alone attempt to approach that Being.  Reality is too painful for most.  Then again I wasn't sure there was anything out there to be found.  I... just suspected.

Cooking, nothing else.

.
.
Tired and sore.  I wore myself out.  Can't get to things, mostly.  Chicken parts and a pork roast, grilled, crispy, perfection.  The neighbor needed the mower.  I was just putting the bird in, did pork separately.  I offered, he wasn't sure.  I went ahead without him, but he did show up.  Extra food for a hard working growing man is golden.  For me, it makes it easier to ask for help, to my mind.

Next month, work on the bathroom.  That will be the start of paying work.  I need to clean and clear my room.  I might try to remove the old vanity, drill for the floor drain, and a few other things beyond cleaning the room.  I have some ambitions, thankfully it is a small area.  I am still not sure about how to do shelving.  I want two levels, maybe three... a bottom one for towels and such.  Then a top one, possibly one for my height and one for a woman... shorter, easier to reach, upon which will go sinks.   I am not sure it can all be done in one month.  Just for the various expenses.  Though perhaps much of it.

I am really looking forward to having my own, close, bathroom again.  I have even thought about trying my hand at putting heated tile in.  Would have to check costs, and running expenses.  My electric heaters, in the southern rooms, cost a fortune to run even part-time, prohibitively to my notions.  So, without much other heat, warm floors would be nice.  A timer to have the floor warm just as I am waking, off the rest of the time.

Thursday, April 26, 2018

Awake a bit early.

.
.
Sore and early.  I keep thinking I have gone soft.  Little spots of work beat me up.  Then I remember medical facts.  I shouldn't be worn, I shouldn't be able to work.  Go find men, my age, who could be or are, and have been even for five years, on the heart transplant list.  See if any of them can help chainsaw, process, and remove a couple ton of branches and wood over a week or so.  Heck, there are many my age who can't do that. If there are some who can still run circles around me... just not among the nearly palliative.

Sleep was good.  It seemed to be going to be a good, easy sleep, so I let the girls in.  And, oddly, they behaved themselves.  A very good sleep.  A side benefit of putting out solid effort.  Another side benefit seems to be a return of my tolerance for the chill.  I have that in spades until winter slowly steals it.  It usually takes summer doses of heat to get it back.  Or, it seems, some solid work.  I'm enjoying it.  I wonder if summer work will help tolerate heat?  I think work changes something... vascular, lungs, and more, bodily changes, more so for me.  Opens up... everything.  Very strange.  But it has to be strenuous, near to excessive.  Even swimming won't do it, to the level I got, if it was only a mile an hour last time.

Hmm?  What next?  I'm thinking bigger, with help.  The stuff for the roof is too pricey for spring, perhaps fall.  However, if I tear into the bedroom and open up the en suite, that might be next.  Having a plumber on call, an extra hand on deck, and all the pieces and parts save shelving, flooring, a medicine cabinet, and paint... even ten to twenty hours a month would get it done it short order.  I just have to open my bedroom, including to the cubby hole to the crawl space to add a floor drain.  Could just have it drain right to the ground but I don't like that plan.  For now I will just use the regular water heater.   When it dies, then replace it with a tankless of the right size.  Ugh.

Then, by this fall, I should be able to put enough scratch together for roof sealant.  As well, finish rekitting appliances.  I think I'm going with a new water out reefer, a smaller side refrigerator, and a dishwasher.  Next spring the hope is to have enough stowed for at least a new electrical main and new central heating and cooling.  Eventually the kitchen floor, a sub to the garage,  new roof waterways and storage...  I sort of don't think raised beds are in the books.  More edibles, however, here and there?  Perhaps, in time, a new automatic watering system.

I did remember to thaw meats.  To be barbecued.  Chicken hindquarters and the pork roast, the burger will just go to crumble and the lamb chop was grilled for supper.  As well, I'd like to boil some of the eggs.  Just to have some on hand.  Not all though, I want to fry a few soon.  While cooking, the goal is to wash and straighten out there.  That, perhaps a bath, and maybe a shave?  That is all I have planned for today through tomorrow... well, maybe a few phone calls.

Good day.

More.

.
.
More help, more work, times two.  The neighbor wanted the mower, as per usual.  It is a good deal.  While he was doing that, without telling me, he also raked.  I wasn't up to that level but had I known I would have been out helping.  I had started planting though.  Then decided to take a shower.  Got that and got back to planting.  He showed back up and dug right in.  I hadn't expected to finish tonight, but, done.  It is being watered as I write.

Tomorrow is phone calls, dishes, and perhaps shopping.  Mostly paper plates.  I am hoping to grill most foods from now on, except for an occasional baked potato.  Difficult to grill those, or for me.  The difference help makes is quite impressive.  Only a few hours at a time, but I can do some honest work still.  I really enjoy it too.  Not like these younglings, but not bad.

Wonderful.  I have steaks ordered for the first, ribeye.  That is partial, plus cash, and other tools or toys.  He needs steel toed boots, too.  Beats spending on junk, which I have been heard tell to do.  Oh, and the raft and climbing gear use.  I have smaller but fun toys and tools.  And time, even energy, with a little help.

On to gaming.  Yeah, days and nights are sliding.  Considering this spring, I am surprised my days and nights aren't zipping around.  Good night, even if it's not close to bedtime.  See you on the flipside, unless a thought haunts my night.  Sleep well.

Some, more soon?

.
.
A few calls.  Not all, but they are lined up.  Two more, three actually.  My doctor left a message to call back.  Too late for calls today.  Tomorrow.  A piece for my air compressor is on the way.  Eight to ten days, really?  The woman was pretty rude, too.  Still, done.  One other call that turned into such a nothing it has already been forgotten.  Then I just lost track.

It is such a chilly day.  The highest I have seen is 62 F.  While not terribly cloudy, there is enough of something up there to keep most of the sun out.  Very strange.  The lack of sun and warmth makes the day difficult, add on the heavier work lately and...  I am not surprised by today, even if the sun was shining like a top.  Then again, it could be much worse.  After the last snow storm my mother enjoyed, the ten incher, they received seven inches in another storm.  As bad as it has been, I wouldn't bet they haven't been hit again.  Still, the weather is adding to a slowdown even here.

I am hoping to shower, perhaps do some planting, maybe shave.  IF.  If I can remember, focus. Might take a nap in there somewhere.  Later.

Fantastic sleep.

.
.
Sore but not tired.  Twelve hours down.  No dreams.  Only minor fussiness.  Waking a few times, Sam or Sassy beating on the door or yeowling.  Is that Chinese... Catonese?  I knew one of them was a damned commie spy!  The other is a government stooge though, I think.  Damn those pet treats!  Anyway, I went immediately back to sleep.  When I need hard sleep, I don't let them in.  Plus they have been in with me for the last three or four days.

Almost to the sore state that begins numbness.  I do have dead zones, the main muscles used for sawing and lifting.  Must be lifting and sawing right as my back only has minor tickles here and there.  Getting some solid vein poppage.  Actually, I feel better than I thought.  I have phone calls, dishes, planting, and maybe a shower and/or shave on my list.  Calls are easy enough, but I'd like to do some physical work too.  Maybe.  A late start, so I best at least line up calls first thing, make them in a bit.  Any actual work can happen any time, even after dark.

The lungs are actually doing better.  Perhaps greater stress on them helped make normal breathing simple, or I fully pumped out air, cleaning and clearing right to the bottom, perhaps something(s) else, or even a combination.  Life, as to breathing, is much better.  One of the calls today is to investigate swimming.  Maybe once a week to start, or twice actually.  No pass until I see how it goes, summer and winter.  It is a closer drive than the last.  Yeah.  That will help.

I realize, for the rest of my life, I will struggle.  To push, pull, jostle, with hurt, focus, even breath sometimes.  But I was built to last.  I have a long gruesome road out there.  And, yet, I'll tell you, I am not just subservient to the road ahead, I am... looking forward to it. I think there is still a lot of good out there yet, maybe even a woman.  Crazy as such a notion is, there it is.  It's good to have peeps, and dames are all I like.  Mostly like them.  A rose by any other thorn.

Well, I'll wrangle the numbers I don't have, wake, read, game, then get to it.  I'd sure like to plant things today, even over dishes.  I really need paper plates.  Later.

Work.

.
.
I really tried to talk my way out of it.  Wouldn't take a no.  Was willing to work solo.  I... just couldn't allow that.  My last official bp?  226/124, pulse at 120.  Still, I could so I did.  Got a lot more done than anticipated, and in an hour and change.  But I am beat.  A bit of final processing and a lot of hauling.  Quite a lot of work.  Beat like a stray.

I'll get to planting when I can.  Soon.  They need to go in pretty fast.  Thursday, at the earliest, though.

The lad bit himself with the chainsaw.  Just a bit, but.  I have saw proof chaps, he wore them last time, why not today.  I didn't see it happen.  It was right as we were finishing logs for the community fire wood pile.  Ended the day.  No more sawing, at least not without chaps.  Might need stitches.  Yeah, I'll cover if so.  Those chaps are pricey, but probably cheaper than even the out-of-pocket stitches.  Dang kid, trying to get one of his parents to end me!

I was going to get dinner too.  I gave him a few dollars.  If he needs stitches he can get a meal on the way.  Gah.  I need to purchase butterflies (bandages).  I do have staples, medical, two sizes, but those are for no-doctor events.  Three butterflies, medium to small, would probably have been enough.  Dang kids, trying to give me a heart attack.
---------

All is well.

.
.
Internet downtime.  While trimming the trees, a branch snagged the internet, Saturday. They were worried I'd be upset.  Not a chance.  To have those gone, no longer worrying about both internet and power lines every time the wind blows, but not shelling out $600?  Yeah, no problems.  An internet timeout is good from time to time as well.

We cut a lot more tree sized branches.  I worked to my end, Saturday, then kept going back to it as I could.  Then worked more yesterday.  I am hoping to do more today but I can't promise.  I am sore and very tired.  Still, it is possible.  All I would be doing today is processing and stacking good wood and branches separately.

The house is falling apart though.  I have been doing so much outside work, and ran out of paper plates.  I'll... get on it soon.  I also need to get fresh coffee, just a pot in the morning, with fresh cream, then back to tea for the rest of the day.  I absolutely enjoy the DeWalt cordless tools.  I've been running them through their paces without a hitch, save the compressor... which reminds me... a call to them today.

I think the asparagus is in.  And one of the new ac units.  One or two more before summer heat.  I refuse to cook, I'll figure it out.  If needed, I may have another trick for if it gets really dry.  It'll work, the trick, with window or whole house ac.

Definitely asparagus, plus I have jerusalem artichoke bulbs in.  If I can do something today, it will be those.  Oh, did I mention?  I have a source of fresh eggs, delivered!  Life is getting better.  They don't do meat birds, or yet.  Raise chickens and ducks, so I have some hopes.  All good as is even so.

Even being tired, I got a shower and made it to the post, then called to order steaks from the local butcher in various thicknesses, and called to change an appointment to what it was supposed to be.  Next, to find the number for DeWalt, about the compressor.  That... may be it for the day.  Tired and then some.

Good day.
